All medicines and remedies, mantras and tantras are nothing more than ashes.

Karanaihaar Ridhae Mehi Dhhaar ||3||
करणैहारु रिदे महि धारु ॥३॥
Enshrine the Creator Lord within your heart. ||3||
ਤਜਿ ਸਭਿ ਭਰਮ ਭਜਿਓ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ॥
Thaj Sabh Bharam Bhajiou Paarabreham ||
तजि सभि भरम भजिओ पारब्रहमु ॥
Renounce all your doubts, and vibrate upon the Supreme Lord God.

The Lord bestowed His Mercy, and led me to meet the Guru.
ਤਿਤੁ ਬਲਿ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥
Thith Bal Rog N Biaapai Koee ||1||
तितु बलि रोगु न बिआपै कोई ॥१॥
By His power, no disease afflicts me. ||1||

राम रमण तरण भै सागर ॥
Remembering the Lord, I cross over the terrifying world-ocean.

They consume food and drink, delicious and sublime as ambrosial nectar.

Meditation, self-discipline, self-control and perfect greatness were obtained when the Merciful Lord,

गुर किरपाल हरि भए सहाई ॥३॥

मान मोह खोए गुरि भरम ॥
The Guru has dispelled pride, emotional attachment and superstition.

The blind beggar is better off than the vicious king.
ਦੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
Dhukh Laagai Raam Naam Chithaaree ||1||
दुखि लागै राम नामु चितारी ॥१॥
Meditate in remembrance on the Lord every day, O my Siblings of Destiny.
ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਤੁਹੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Thaerae Dhaas Ko Thuhee Vaddiaaee ||
तेरे दास कउ तुही वडिआई ॥
You are the glorious greatness of Your slave.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮਗਨੁ ਨਰਕਿ ਲੈ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

माइआ मगनु नरकि लै जाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The intoxication of Maya leads the others to hell. ||1||Pause||
ਰੋਗ ਗਿਰਸਤ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ਨਾਉ ॥
Rog Girasath Chithaarae Naao ||
रोग गिरसत चितारे नाउ ॥
Gripped by disease, they invoke the Name.
ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਤੇ ਕਾ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥੨॥
Bikh Maathae Kaa Thour N Thaao ||2||
बिखु माते का ठउर न ठाउ ॥२॥
But those who are intoxicated with vice shall find no home, no place of rest. ||2||
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
Charan Kamal Sio Laagee Preeth ||
चरन कमल सिउ लागी प्रीति ॥
Within whose hearts the Lord God abides. ||3||
ਆਨ ਸੁਖਾ ਨਹੀ ਆਵਹਿ ਚੀਤਿ ॥੩॥
Aan Sukhaa Nehee Aavehi Cheeth ||3||
आन सुखा नही आवहि चीति ॥३॥
Does not think of any other comforts. ||3||
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa Simaro Prabh Suaamee ||
सदा सदा सिमरउ प्रभ सुआमी ॥
Forever and ever, meditate on God, your Lord and Master.
ਮਿਲੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੮੨॥੧੫੧॥

ऐसा हरि रसु रमहु सभु कोइ ॥
Everyone should dwell on the Sweet Name of such a Lord.

Prabh Khin Mehi Paar Outhaaranehaar ||2||
प्रभ खिन महि पारि उतारणहार ॥२॥
In an instant, God saves us, and carries us across. ||2||
ਅਨਿਕ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
Anik Bandhhan Thorae Nehee Jaahi ||
अनिक बंधन तोरे नही जाहि ॥
There are so many bonds, they cannot be broken.
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਫਲ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
Simarath Naam Mukath Fal Paahi ||3||
सिमरत नाम मुकति फल पाहि ॥३॥
Remembering the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the fruit of liberation is obtained. ||3||
ਉਕਤਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਕਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
Oukath Siaanap Eis Thae Kashh Naahi ||
उकति सिआनप इस ते कछु नाहि ॥
By clever devices, nothing is accomplished.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੪॥੮੩॥੧੫੨॥

Bichar Sansaar Pooran Sabh Kaam ||1||
बिचरु संसार पूरन सभि काम ॥१॥
Move freely in the world; all their affairs are resolved. ||1||
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
Vaddabhaagee Har Keerathan Gaaeeai ||
वडभागी हरि कीरतनु गाईऐ ॥
Everyone should make Him such a friend.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਤ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

पारब्रहम तूं देहि त पाईऐ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
O Supreme Lord God, as You give, so do I receive. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
Har Kae Charan Hiradhai Our Dhhaar ||
हरि के चरण हिरदै उरि धारि ॥
For their own purposes, they enshrine the Lord in the heart;
ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਚੜਿ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
Bhav Saagar Charr Outharehi Paar ||2||
भव सागरु चड़ि उतरहि पारि ॥२॥
Get aboard this boat, and cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
Saadhhoo Sang Karahu Sabh Koe ||
साधू संगु करहु सभु कोइ ॥
Everyone who joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy,
ਸਦਾ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
Sadhaa Kaliaan Fir Dhookh N Hoe ||3||
सदा कलिआण फिरि दूखु न होइ ॥३॥
Obtains eternal peace; pain does not afflict them any longer. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਜੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
Praem Bhagath Bhaj Gunee Nidhhaan ||
प्रेम भगति भजु गुणी निधानु ॥
With loving devotional worship, meditate on the treasure of excellence.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੮੪॥੧੫੩॥

नानक दरगह पाईऐ मानु ॥४॥८४॥१५३॥

ਊਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਹਰੂਆ ॥
Oothath Sovath Har Sang Peharooaa ||
ऊठत सोवत हरि संगि पहरूआ ॥
While rising up, and while lying down in sleep, the Lord is always with you, watching over you.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਜਮ ਨਹੀ ਡਰੂਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Jam Nehee Ddarooaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
जा कै सिमरणि जम नही डरूआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
