ਜਿਉ ਜਨਨੀ ਸੁਤੁ ਜਣਿ ਪਾਲਤੀ ਰਾਖੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਮਝਾਰਿ ॥
Jio Jananee Suth Jan Paalathee Raakhai Nadhar Majhaar ||
जिउ जननी सुतु जणि पालती राखै नदरि मझारि ॥
Just as the mother, having given birth to a son, feeds him and keeps him in her vision
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੇ ਗਿਰਾਸੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਪੋਚਾਰਿ ॥
Anthar Baahar Mukh Dhae Giraas Khin Khin Pochaar ||
अंतरि बाहरि मुखि दे गिरासु खिनु खिनु पोचारि ॥
- indoors and outdoors, she puts food in his mouth; each and every moment, she caresses him.
ਤਿਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਰਾਖਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥੧॥

तिउ सतिगुरु गुरसिख राखता हरि प्रीति पिआरि ॥१॥
In just the same way, the True Guru protects His GurSikhs, who love their Beloved Lord. ||1||

मेरे राम हम बारिक हरि प्रभ के है इआणे ॥
O my Lord, we are just the ignorant children of our Lord God.
ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਧਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਦੇ ਕੀਏ ਸਿਆਣੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਜੈਸੀ ਗਗਨਿ ਫਿਰੰਤੀ ਊਡਤੀ ਕਪਰੇ ਬਾਗੇ ਵਾਲੀ ॥
Jaisee Gagan Firanthee Ooddathee Kaparae Baagae Vaalee ||
जैसी गगनि फिरंती ऊडती कपरे बागे वाली ॥
The white flamingo circles through the sky,
ਓਹ ਰਾਖੈ ਚੀਤੁ ਪੀਛੈ ਬਿਚਿ ਬਚਰੇ ਨਿਤ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਲੀ ॥
Ouh Raakhai Cheeth Peeshhai Bich Bacharae Nith Hiradhai Saar Samaalee ||
ओह राखै चीतु पीछै बिचि बचरे नित हिरदै सारि समाली ॥
But she keeps her young ones in her mind; she has left them behind, but she constantly remembers them in her heart.
ਤਿਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਰਖੈ ਜੀਅ ਨਾਲੀ ॥੨॥
Thio Sathigur Sikh Preeth Har Har Kee Gur Sikh Rakhai Jeea Naalee ||2||
तिउ सतिगुर सिख प्रीति हरि हरि की गुरु सिख रखै जीअ नाली ॥२॥
In just the same way, the True Guru loves His Sikhs. The Lord cherishes His GurSikhs, and keeps them clasped to His Heart. ||2||
ਜੈਸੇ ਕਾਤੀ ਤੀਸ ਬਤੀਸ ਹੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਰਸਨਾ ਮਾਸ ਰਤੁ ਕੇਰੀ ॥
Jaisae Kaathee Thees Bathees Hai Vich Raakhai Rasanaa Maas Rath Kaeree ||
जैसे काती तीस बतीस है विचि राखै रसना मास रतु केरी ॥
Just as the tongue, made of flesh and blood, is protected within the scissors of the thirty-two teeth
ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਮਾਸ ਕਾਤੀ ਕੈ ਕਿਛੁ ਹਾਥਿ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੀ ॥
Koee Jaanahu Maas Kaathee Kai Kishh Haathh Hai Sabh Vasagath Hai Har Kaeree ||
कोई जाणहु मास काती कै किछु हाथि है सभ वसगति है हरि केरी ॥
Who thinks that the power lies in the flesh or the scissors? Everything is in the Power of the Lord.
ਤਿਉ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਨਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਪੈਜ ਜਨ ਕੇਰੀ ॥੩॥
Thio Santh Janaa Kee Nar Nindhaa Karehi Har Raakhai Paij Jan Kaeree ||3||
तिउ संत जना की नर निंदा करहि हरि राखै पैज जन केरी ॥३॥
In just the same way, when someone slanders the Saint, the Lord preserves the honor of His servant. ||3||
ਭਾਈ ਮਤ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਕਿਸੀ ਕੈ ਕਿਛੁ ਹਾਥਿ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥
Bhaaee Math Koee Jaanahu Kisee Kai Kishh Haathh Hai Sabh Karae Karaaeiaa ||
भाई मत कोई जाणहु किसी कै किछु हाथि है सभ करे कराइआ ॥
O Siblings of Destiny, let none think that they have any power. All act as the Lord causes them to act.
ਜਰਾ ਮਰਾ ਤਾਪੁ ਸਿਰਤਿ ਸਾਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਗਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
Jaraa Maraa Thaap Sirath Saap Sabh Har Kai Vas Hai Koee Laag N Sakai Bin Har Kaa Laaeiaa ||
जरा मरा तापु सिरति सापु सभु हरि कै वसि है कोई लागि न सकै बिनु हरि का लाइआ ॥
Old age, death, fever, poisons and snakes - everything is in the Hands of the Lord. Nothing can touch anyone without the Lord's Order.
ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਨਿਤਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਅੰਤੀ ਅਉਸਰਿ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੩॥੫੧॥
Aisaa Har Naam Man Chith Nith Dhhiaavahu Jan Naanak Jo Anthee Aousar Leae Shhaddaaeiaa ||4||7||13||51||
ऐसा हरि नामु मनि चिति निति धिआवहु जन नानक जो अंती अउसरि लए छडाइआ ॥४॥७॥१३॥५१॥
Within your conscious mind, O servant Nanak, meditate forever on the Name of the Lord, who shall deliver you in the end. ||4||7||13||51||

ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੀਐ ॥
Jis Miliai Man Hoe Anandh So Sathigur Keheeai ||
जिसु मिलिऐ मनि होइ अनंदु सो सतिगुरु कहीऐ ॥
Meeting Him, the mind is filled with bliss. He is called the True Guru.
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੧॥
Man Kee Dhubidhhaa Binas Jaae Har Param Padh Leheeai ||1||
मन की दुबिधा बिनसि जाइ हरि परम पदु लहीऐ ॥१॥
Double-mindedness departs, and the supreme status of the Lord is obtained. ||1||
ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲੈ ॥

ਹਉ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਕਰੀ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ho Khin Khin Karee Namasakaar Maeraa Gur Pooraa Kio Milai ||1|| Rehaao ||
हउ खिनु खिनु करी नमसकारु मेरा गुरु पूरा किउ मिलै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Each and every moment, I humbly bow to Him. How will I meet my Perfect Guru? ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥

करि किरपा हरि मेलिआ मेरा सतिगुरु पूरा ॥
Granting His Grace, the Lord has led me to meet my Perfect True Guru.
ਇਛ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਜਨ ਕੇਰੀਆ ਲੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਧੂਰਾ ॥੨॥
Eishh Punnee Jan Kaereeaa Lae Sathigur Dhhooraa ||2||
इछ पुंनी जन केरीआ ले सतिगुर धूरा ॥२॥
The desire of His humble servant has been fulfilled. I have received the dust of the Feet of the True Guru. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਸੁਣੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੀਐ ॥
Har Bhagath Dhrirraavai Har Bhagath Sunai This Sathigur Mileeai ||
हरि भगति द्रिड़ावै हरि भगति सुणै तिसु सतिगुर मिलीऐ ॥
Those who meet the True Guru implant devotional worship to the Lord, and listen to this devotional worship of the Lord.
ਤੋਟਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਭੁ ਨਿਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੀਐ ॥੩॥
Thottaa Mool N Aavee Har Laabh Nith Dhrirreeai ||3||
तोटा मूलि न आवई हरि लाभु निति द्रिड़ीऐ ॥३॥
They never suffer any loss; they continually earn the profit of the Lord. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਿਗਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
Jis Ko Ridhai Vigaas Hai Bhaao Dhoojaa Naahee ||
जिस कउ रिदै विगासु है भाउ दूजा नाही ॥
One whose heart blossoms forth, is not in love with duality.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਉਧਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੪॥੫੨॥
Naanak This Gur Mil Oudhharai Har Gun Gaavaahee ||4||8||14||52||
नानक तिसु गुर मिलि उधरै हरि गुण गावाही ॥४॥८॥१४॥५२॥
O Nanak, meeting the Guru, one is saved, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||8||14||52||

Har Dhaeiaal Dhaeiaa Prabh Keenee Maerai Man Than Mukh Har Bolee ||
हरि दइआलि दइआ प्रभि कीनी मेरै मनि तनि मुखि हरि बोली ॥
The Merciful Lord God showered me with His Mercy; with mind and body and mouth, I chant the Lord's Name.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਭਇਆ ਅਤਿ ਗੂੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਭੀਨੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਚੋਲੀ ॥੧॥
Guramukh Rang Bhaeiaa Ath Goorraa Har Rang Bheenee Maeree Cholee ||1||
गुरमुखि रंगु भइआ अति गूड़ा हरि रंगि भीनी मेरी चोली ॥१॥
As Gurmukh, I have been dyed in the deep and lasting color of the Lord's Love. The robe of my body is drenched with His Love. ||1||
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਗੋਲੀ ॥

अपुने हरि प्रभ की हउ गोली ॥
I am the maid-servant of my Lord God.
ਜਬ ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਗੋਲ ਅਮੋਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jab Ham Har Saethee Man Maaniaa Kar Dheeno Jagath Sabh Gol Amolee ||1|| Rehaao ||
जब हम हरि सेती मनु मानिआ करि दीनो जगतु सभु गोल अमोली ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
When my mind surrendered to the Lord, He made all the world my slave. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਹੁ ਬਿਬੇਕੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਭਾਈ ਖੋਜਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਦੇਖਿ ਢੰਢੋਲੀ ॥
