घटि घटि रमईआ रमत राम राइ गुर सबदि गुरू लिव लागे ॥
The All-pervading Sovereign Lord King is contained in each and every heart. Through the Guru, and the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I am lovingly centered on the Lord.
ਹਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਦੇਵਉ ਕਾਟਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਉ ਮੇਰਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਭਾਗੇ ॥੨॥
Ho Man Than Dhaevo Kaatt Guroo Ko Maeraa Bhram Bho Gur Bachanee Bhaagae ||2||
हउ मनु तनु देवउ काटि गुरू कउ मेरा भ्रमु भउ गुर बचनी भागे ॥२॥
Cutting my mind and body into pieces, I offer them to my Guru. The Guru's Teachings have dispelled my doubt and fear. ||2||
ਅੰਧਿਆਰੈ ਦੀਪਕ ਆਨਿ ਜਲਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥

अंधिआरै दीपक आनि जलाए गुर गिआनि गुरू लिव लागे ॥
In the darkness, the Guru has lit the lamp of the Guru's wisdom; I am lovingly focused on the Lord.
ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਬਿਨਾਸਿਓ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਲਹੀ ਮਨ ਜਾਗੇ ॥੩॥

अगिआनु अंधेरा बिनसि बिनासिओ घरि वसतु लही मन जागे ॥३॥
The darkness of ignorance has been dispelled, and my mind has been awakened; within the home of my inner being, I have found the genuine article. ||3||
ਸਾਕਤ ਬਧਿਕ ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਜਮ ਜੋਹਨਿ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
Saakath Badhhik Maaeiaadhhaaree Thin Jam Johan Laagae ||
साकत बधिक माइआधारी तिन जम जोहनि लागे ॥
The vicious hunters, the faithless cynics, are hunted down by the Messenger of Death.
ਉਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਸੀਸੁ ਨ ਬੇਚਿਆ ਓਇ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਅਭਾਗੇ ॥੪॥

उन सतिगुर आगै सीसु न बेचिआ ओइ आवहि जाहि अभागे ॥४॥
They have not sold their heads to the True Guru; those wretched, unfortunate ones continue coming and going in reincarnation. ||4||

हमरा बिनउ सुनहु प्रभ ठाकुर हम सरणि प्रभू हरि मागे ॥

हम अहंकारी अहंकार अगिआन मति गुरि मिलिऐ आपु गवाइआ ॥
I am egotistical and conceited, and my intellect is ignorant. Meeting the Guru, my selfishness and conceit have been abolished.
ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥

हउमै रोगु गइआ सुखु पाइआ धनु धंनु गुरू हरि राइआ ॥१॥

मेरै हीअरै प्रीति राम राइ की गुरि मारगु पंथु बताइआ ॥
My heart is filled with love for the Sovereign Lord King; the Guru has shown me the path and the way to find Him.

मेरा जीउ पिंडु सभु सतिगुर आगै जिनि विछुड़िआ हरि गलि लाइआ ॥२॥
My soul and body all belong to the Guru; I was separated, and He has led me into the Lord's Embrace. ||2||
ਮੇਰੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਦੇਖਨ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
Maerai Anthar Preeth Lagee Dhaekhan Ko Gur Hiradhae Naal Dhikhaaeiaa ||
मेरै अंतरि प्रीति लगी देखन कउ गुरि हिरदे नालि दिखाइआ ॥
Deep within myself, I would love to see the Lord; the Guru has inspired me to see Him within my heart.
ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਮਨਿ ਮੋਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਆਪੁ ਵੇਚਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

सहज अनंदु भइआ मनि मोरै गुर आगै आपु वेचाइआ ॥३॥
Within my mind, intuitive peace and bliss have arisen; I have sold myself to the Guru. ||3||
ਹਮ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਪਾਪ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਦੁਸਟੀ ਚੋਰ ਚੁਰਾਇਆ ॥
Ham Aparaadhh Paap Bahu Keenae Kar Dhusattee Chor Churaaeiaa ||
हम अपराध पाप बहु कीने करि दुसटी चोर चुराइआ ॥
I am a sinner - I have committed so many sins; I am a villainous, thieving thief.
ਅਬ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੨੫॥੬੩॥

अब नानक सरणागति आए हरि राखहु लाज हरि भाइआ ॥४॥११॥२५॥६३॥
Now, Nanak has come to the Lord's Sanctuary; preserve my honor, Lord, as it pleases Your Will. ||4||11||25||63||

गुरमति बाजै सबदु अनाहदु गुरमति मनूआ गावै ॥
Through the Guru's Teachings, the unstruck music resounds; through the Guru's Teachings, the mind sings.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥

वडभागी गुर दरसनु पाइआ धनु धंनु गुरू लिव लावै ॥१॥
By great good fortune, I received the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan. Blessed, blessed is the Guru, who has led me to love the Lord. ||1||

हमरा ठाकुरु सतिगुरु पूरा मनु गुर की कार कमावै ॥
My Lord and Master is the Perfect True Guru. My mind works to serve the Guru.
ਹਮ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਵਹ ਪਾਵ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
Ham Mal Mal Dhhoveh Paav Guroo Kae Jo Har Har Kathhaa Sunaavai ||2||
हम मलि मलि धोवह पाव गुरू के जो हरि हरि कथा सुनावै ॥२॥
I massage and wash the Feet of the Guru, who recites the Sermon of the Lord. ||2||
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
Hiradhai Guramath Raam Rasaaein Jihavaa Har Gun Gaavai ||
हिरदै गुरमति राम रसाइणु जिहवा हरि गुण गावै ॥
The Teachings of the Guru are in my heart; the Lord is the Source of nectar. My tongue sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਮਨ ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਆਘਾਨੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਭੂਖ ਲਗਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
Man Rasak Rasak Har Ras Aaghaanae Fir Bahur N Bhookh Lagaavai ||3||
मन रसकि रसकि हरि रसि आघाने फिरि बहुरि न भूख लगावै ॥३॥
My mind is immersed in, and drenched with the Lord's essence. Fulfilled with the Lord's Love, I shall never feel hunger again. ||3||
ਕੋਈ ਕਰੈ ਉਪਾਵ ਅਨੇਕ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
Koee Karai Oupaav Anaek Bahuthaerae Bin Kirapaa Naam N Paavai ||
कोई करै उपाव अनेक बहुतेरे बिनु किरपा नामु न पावै ॥
People try all sorts of things, but without the Lord's Mercy, His Name is not obtained.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੨੬॥੬੪॥

जन नानक कउ हरि किरपा धारी मति गुरमति नामु द्रिड़ावै ॥४॥१२॥२६॥६४॥
The Lord has showered His Mercy upon servant Nanak; through the wisdom of the Guru's Teachings, he has enshrined the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||12||26||64||

गुरमुखि जिंदू जपि नामु करमा ॥
O my soul, as Gurmukh, do this deed: chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਮਤਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਮਤਿ ਜੀਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਮਾ ॥
Math Maathaa Math Jeeo Naam Mukh Raamaa ||
मति माता मति जीउ नामु मुखि रामा ॥
Make that teaching your mother, that it may teach you to keep the Lord's Name in your mouth.
ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਜਨਮਾ ॥
Santhokh Pithaa Kar Gur Purakh Ajanamaa ||
संतोखु पिता करि गुरु पुरखु अजनमा ॥
Let contentment be your father; the Guru is the Primal Being, beyond birth or incarnation.
