तेरी सरणाई सची हरि जीउ ना ओह घटै न जाइ ॥
True Is Your Sanctuary, O Dear Lord; it never diminishes or goes away.
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਲਾਗੈ ਓਹੁ ਜੰਮੈ ਤੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
Jo Har Shhodd Dhoojai Bhaae Laagai Ouhu Janmai Thai Mar Jaae ||3||
जो हरि छोडि दूजै भाइ लागै ओहु जमै तै मरि जाइ ॥३॥
Those who abandon the Lord, and become attached to the love of duality, shall continue to die and be reborn. ||3||
ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤਿਨਾ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
Jo Thaeree Saranaaee Har Jeeo Thinaa Dhookh Bhookh Kishh Naahi ||
जो तेरी सरणाई हरि जीउ तिना दूख भूख किछु नाहि ॥
Those who seek Your Sanctuary, Dear Lord, shall never suffer in pain or hunger for anything.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਤੂ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੪॥੪॥

Guramukh Har Jeeo Sadhaa Dhhiaavahu Jab Lag Jeea Paraan ||
गुरमुखि हरि जीउ सदा धिआवहु जब लगु जीअ परान ॥
As Gurmukh, meditate on the Dear Lord forever, as long as there is the breath of life.
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਚੂਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
Gur Sabadhee Man Niramal Hoaa Chookaa Man Abhimaan ||
गुर सबदी मनु निरमलु होआ चूका मनि अभिमानु ॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the mind becomes immaculate, and egotistical pride is expelled from the mind.

मूलु पछाणनि तिन निज घरि वासा सहजे ही सुखु होई ॥
Those who understand their own origin dwell within the home of their inner being, in intuitive peace and poise.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
Gur Kai Sabadh Kamal Paragaasiaa Houmai Dhuramath Khoee ||
गुर कै सबदि कमलु परगासिआ हउमै दुरमति खोई ॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the heart-lotus blossoms forth, and egotism and evil-mindedness are eradicated.
ਸਭਨਾ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੨॥
Sabhanaa Mehi Eaeko Sach Varathai Viralaa Boojhai Koee ||2||
सभना महि एको सचु वरतै विरला बूझै कोई ॥२॥
The One True Lord is pervading amongst all; those who realize this are very rare. ||2||
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਤਤੁ ਵਖਾਨੈ ॥

गुरमती मनु निरमलु होआ अम्रितु ततु वखानै ॥
Through the Guru's Teachings, the mind becomes immaculate, speaking the Ambrosial Essence.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥

हरि का नामु सदा मनि वसिआ विचि मन ही मनु मानै ॥
The Name of the Lord dwells in the mind forever; within the mind, the mind is pleased and appeased.
ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
Sadh Balihaaree Gur Apunae Vittahu Jith Aatham Raam Pashhaanai ||3||
सद बलिहारी गुर अपुने विटहु जितु आतम रामु पछानै ॥३॥
I am forever a sacrifice to my Guru, through whom I have realized the Lord, the Supreme Soul. ||3||
ਮਾਨਸ ਜਨਮਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
Maanas Janam Sathiguroo N Saeviaa Birathhaa Janam Gavaaeiaa ||
मानस जनमि सतिगुरू न सेविआ बिरथा जनमु गवाइआ ॥
Those human beings who do not serve the True Guru - their lives are uselessly wasted.
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
Nadhar Karae Thaan Sathigur Maelae Sehajae Sehaj Samaaeiaa ||
नदरि करे तां सतिगुरु मेले सहजे सहजि समाइआ ॥
When God bestows His Glance of Grace, then we meet the True Guru, merging in intuitive peace and poise.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੫॥

आपे भांति बणाए बहु रंगी सिसटि उपाइ प्रभि खेलु कीआ ॥
God Himself fashioned the many forms and colors; He created the Universe and staged the play.
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਨੋ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਦੀਆ ॥੧॥
Kar Kar Vaekhai Karae Karaaeae Sarab Jeeaa No Rijak Dheeaa ||1||
करि करि वेखै करे कराए सरब जीआ नो रिजकु दीआ ॥१॥
Creating the creation, He watches over it. He acts, and causes all to act; He gives sustenance to all beings. ||1||

Ghatt Ghatt Poor Rehiaa Prabh Eaeko Guramukh Paragatt Har Har Naam ||1|| Rehaao ||
घटि घटि पूरि रहिआ प्रभु एको गुरमुखि परगटु हरि हरि नामु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The One God is pervading and permeating each and every heart; the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is revealed to the Gurmukh. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਪਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
Gupathaa Naam Varathai Vich Kalajug Ghatt Ghatt Har Bharapoor Rehiaa ||
गुपता नामु वरतै विचि कलजुगि घटि घटि हरि भरपूरि रहिआ ॥
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is hidden, but it is pervasive in the Dark Age. The Lord is totally pervading and permeating each and every heart.
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਜਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੨॥
Naam Rathan Thinaa Hiradhai Pragattiaa Jo Gur Saranaaee Bhaj Paeiaa ||2||
नामु रतनु तिना हिरदै प्रगटिआ जो गुर सरणाई भजि पइआ ॥२॥
The Jewel of the Naam is revealed within the hearts of those who hurry to the Sanctuary of the Guru. ||2||
ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਪੰਚ ਪੰਚੇ ਵਸਿ ਆਣੈ ਖਿਮਾ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
Eindhree Panch Panchae Vas Aanai Khimaa Santhokh Guramath Paavai ||
इंद्री पंच पंचे वसि आणै खिमा संतोखु गुरमति पावै ॥
Whoever overpowers the five sense organs, is blessed with forgiveness, patience and contentment, through the Guru's Teachings.
ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਵਡ ਪੂਰਾ ਜੋ ਭੈ ਬੈਰਾਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
So Dhhan Dhhan Har Jan Vadd Pooraa Jo Bhai Bairaag Har Gun Gaavai ||3||
सो धनु धनु हरि जनु वड पूरा जो भै बैरागि हरि गुण गावै ॥३॥
Blessed, blessed, perfect and great is that humble servant of the Lord, who is inspired by the Fear of God and detached love, to sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮੁਹੁ ਫੇਰੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਨ ਚਿਤਿ ਧਰੈ ॥
Gur Thae Muhu Faerae Jae Koee Gur Kaa Kehiaa N Chith Dhharai ||
गुर ते मुहु फेरे जे कोई गुर का कहिआ न चिति धरै ॥
If someone turns his face away from the Guru, and does not enshrine the Guru's Words in his consciousness
ਕਰਿ ਆਚਾਰ ਬਹੁ ਸੰਪਉ ਸੰਚੈ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਨਰਕਿ ਪਰੈ ॥੪॥
Kar Aachaar Bahu Sanpo Sanchai Jo Kishh Karai S Narak Parai ||4||
करि आचार बहु स्मपउ संचै जो किछु करै सु नरकि परै ॥४॥
- he may perform all sorts of rituals and accumulate wealth, but in the end, he will fall into hell. ||4||
ਏਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਏਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਏਕਸੁ ਤੇ ਉਤਪਤਿ ਚਲੈ ॥
Eaeko Sabadh Eaeko Prabh Varathai Sabh Eaekas Thae Outhapath Chalai ||
एको सबदु एको प्रभु वरतै सभ एकसु ते उतपति चलै ॥
The One Shabad, the Word of the One God, is prevailing everywhere. All the creation came from the One Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਰਲੈ ॥੫॥੬॥
Naanak Guramukh Mael Milaaeae Guramukh Har Har Jaae Ralai ||5||6||
नानक गुरमुखि मेलि मिलाए गुरमुखि हरि हरि जाइ रलै ॥५॥६॥
O Nanak, the Gurmukh is united in union. When the Gurmukh goes, he blends into the Lord, Har, Har. ||5||6||
