उतंगी पैओहरी गहिरी ग्मभीरी ॥
O you with swollen breasts, let your consciousness become deep and profound.
ਸਸੁੜਿ ਸੁਹੀਆ ਕਿਵ ਕਰੀ ਨਿਵਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਥਣੀ ॥
Sasurr Suheeaa Kiv Karee Nivan N Jaae Thhanee ||
ससुड़ि सुहीआ किव करी निवणु न जाइ थणी ॥
O mother-in-law, how can I bow? Because of my stiff nipples, I cannot bow.
ਗਚੁ ਜਿ ਲਗਾ ਗਿੜਵੜੀ ਸਖੀਏ ਧਉਲਹਰੀ ॥

गचु जि लगा गिड़वड़ी सखीए धउलहरी ॥
O sister, those mansions built as high as mountains
ਸੇ ਭੀ ਢਹਦੇ ਡਿਠੁ ਮੈ ਮੁੰਧ ਨ ਗਰਬੁ ਥਣੀ ॥੧॥
Sae Bhee Dtehadhae Ddith Mai Mundhh N Garab Thhanee ||1||
से भी ढहदे डिठु मै मुंध न गरबु थणी ॥१॥
- I have seen them come crumbling down. O bride, do not be so proud of your nipples. ||1||
ਸੁਣਿ ਮੁੰਧੇ ਹਰਣਾਖੀਏ ਗੂੜਾ ਵੈਣੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
Sun Mundhhae Haranaakheeeae Goorraa Vain Apaar ||
सुणि मुंधे हरणाखीए गूड़ा वैणु अपारु ॥
O bride with deer-like eyes, listen to the words of deep and infinite wisdom.
ਪਹਿਲਾ ਵਸਤੁ ਸਿਞਾਣਿ ਕੈ ਤਾਂ ਕੀਚੈ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥

पहिला वसतु सिञाणि कै तां कीचै वापारु ॥
First, examine the merchandise, and then, make the deal.
ਦੋਹੀ ਦਿਚੈ ਦੁਰਜਨਾ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਕੂੰ ਜੈਕਾਰੁ ॥
Dhohee Dhichai Dhurajanaa Mithraan Koon Jaikaar ||
दोही दिचै दुरजना मित्रां कूं जैकारु ॥
Proclaim that you will not associate with evil people; celebrate victory with your friends.
ਜਿਤੁ ਦੋਹੀ ਸਜਣ ਮਿਲਨਿ ਲਹੁ ਮੁੰਧੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
Jith Dhohee Sajan Milan Lahu Mundhhae Veechaar ||
जितु दोही सजण मिलनि लहु मुंधे वीचारु ॥
This proclamation, to meet with your friends, O bride - give it some thought.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਸਜਣਾ ਐਸਾ ਹਸਣੁ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
Than Man Dheejai Sajanaa Aisaa Hasan Saar ||
तनु मनु दीजै सजणा ऐसा हसणु सारु ॥
Surrender mind and body to the Lord your Friend; this is the most excellent pleasure.
ਤਿਸ ਸਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਨ ਕੀਚਈ ਜਿ ਦਿਸੈ ਚਲਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
This So Naehu N Keechee J Dhisai Chalanehaar ||
तिस सउ नेहु न कीचई जि दिसै चलणहारु ॥
Do not fall in love with one who is destined to leave.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਇਵ ਕਰਿ ਬੁਝਿਆ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥੨॥
Naanak Jinhee Eiv Kar Bujhiaa Thinhaa Vittahu Kurabaan ||2||
नानक जिन्ही इव करि बुझिआ तिन्हा विटहु कुरबाणु ॥२॥
O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those who understand this. ||2||
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਤਾਰੂ ਪਾਣਿ ਤਾਹੂ ਪੁਛੁ ਤਿੜੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਲ ॥
Jae Thoon Thaaroo Paan Thaahoo Pushh Thirrannh Kal ||
जे तूं तारू पाणि ताहू पुछु तिड़ंन्ह कल ॥
If you wish to swim across the water, then consult those who know how to swim.
ਤਾਹੂ ਖਰੇ ਸੁਜਾਣ ਵੰਞਾ ਏਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਕਪਰੀ ॥੩॥
Thaahoo Kharae Sujaan Vannjaa Eaenhee Kaparee ||3||
ताहू खरे सुजाण वंञा एन्ही कपरी ॥३॥
Those who have survived these treacherous waves are very wise. ||3||
ਝੜ ਝਖੜ ਓਹਾੜ ਲਹਰੀ ਵਹਨਿ ਲਖੇਸਰੀ ॥
Jharr Jhakharr Ouhaarr Leharee Vehan Lakhaesaree ||
झड़ झखड़ ओहाड़ लहरी वहनि लखेसरी ॥
The storm rages and the rain floods the land; thousands of waves rise and surge.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਆਲਾਇ ਬੇੜੇ ਡੁਬਣਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਭਉ ॥੪॥
Sathigur Sio Aalaae Baerrae Dduban Naahi Bho ||4||
सतिगुर सिउ आलाइ बेड़े डुबणि नाहि भउ ॥४॥
If you cry out for help from the True Guru, you have nothing to fear - your boat will not sink. ||4||
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕੈਸੀ ਹੋਈ ॥

नानक दुनीआ कैसी होई ॥
O Nanak, what has happened to the world?
ਸਾਲਕੁ ਮਿਤੁ ਨ ਰਹਿਓ ਕੋਈ ॥
Saalak Mith N Rehiou Koee ||
सालकु मितु न रहिओ कोई ॥
There is no guide or friend.
ਭਾਈ ਬੰਧੀ ਹੇਤੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥
Bhaaee Bandhhee Haeth Chukaaeiaa ||
भाई बंधी हेतु चुकाइआ ॥
There is no love, even among brothers and relatives.
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਦੀਨੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੫॥
Dhuneeaa Kaaran Dheen Gavaaeiaa ||5||
दुनीआ कारणि दीनु गवाइआ ॥५॥
For the sake of the world, people have lost their faith. ||5||
ਹੈ ਹੈ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਓਹਿ ਕਰੇਨਿ ॥
Hai Hai Kar Kai Ouhi Karaen ||
है है करि कै ओहि करेनि ॥
They cry and weep and wail.
ਗਲ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਪਿਟਨਿ ਸਿਰੁ ਖੋਹੇਨਿ ॥
Galhaa Pittan Sir Khohaen ||
गल्हा पिटनि सिरु खोहेनि ॥
They slap their faces and pull their hair out.
ਨਾਉ ਲੈਨਿ ਅਰੁ ਕਰਨਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
Naao Lain Ar Karan Samaae ||
नाउ लैनि अरु करनि समाइ ॥
But if they chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, they shall be absorbed into it.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੬॥
Naanak Thin Balihaarai Jaae ||6||
नानक तिन बलिहारै जाइ ॥६॥
O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to them. ||6||
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਡੀਗਿ ਨ ਡੋਲੀਐ ਸੀਧੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਧਾਉ ॥
Rae Man Ddeeg N Ddoleeai Seedhhai Maarag Dhhaao ||
रे मन डीगि न डोलीऐ सीधै मारगि धाउ ॥
O my mind, do not waver or walk on the crooked path; take the straight and true path.
ਪਾਛੈ ਬਾਘੁ ਡਰਾਵਣੋ ਆਗੈ ਅਗਨਿ ਤਲਾਉ ॥
Paashhai Baagh Ddaraavano Aagai Agan Thalaao ||
पाछै बाघु डरावणो आगै अगनि तलाउ ॥
The terrible tiger is behind you, and the pool of fire is ahead.
ਸਹਸੈ ਜੀਅਰਾ ਪਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਮਾ ਕਉ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਢੰਗੁ ॥
Sehasai Jeearaa Par Rehiou Maa Ko Avar N Dtang ||
सहसै जीअरा परि रहिओ मा कउ अवरु न ढंगु ॥
My soul is skeptical and doubtful, but I cannot see any other way to go.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਛੁਟੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੁ ॥੭॥
Naanak Guramukh Shhutteeai Har Preetham Sio Sang ||7||
नानक गुरमुखि छुटीऐ हरि प्रीतम सिउ संगु ॥७॥
O Nanak, as Gurmukh, dwell with your Beloved Lord, and you shall be saved. ||7||
ਬਾਘੁ ਮਰੈ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੀਐ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀਖਿਆ ਹੋਇ ॥
Baagh Marai Man Maareeai Jis Sathigur Dheekhiaa Hoe ||
बाघु मरै मनु मारीऐ जिसु सतिगुर दीखिआ होइ ॥
The tiger is killed, and the mind is killed, through the Teachings of the True Guru.
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਰਣਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
Aap Pashhaanai Har Milai Bahurr N Maranaa Hoe ||
आपु पछाणै हरि मिलै बहुड़ि न मरणा होइ ॥
One who understands himself, meets with the Lord, and never dies again.
