मुकति पदारथु पाईऐ ठाक न अवघट घाट ॥२३१॥
He obtains the treasure of liberation, and the difficult road to the Lord is not blocked. ||231||
ਕਬੀਰ ਏਕ ਘੜੀ ਆਧੀ ਘਰੀ ਆਧੀ ਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਆਧ ॥
Kabeer Eaek Gharree Aadhhee Gharee Aadhhee Hoon Thae Aadhh ||
कबीर एक घड़ी आधी घरी आधी हूं ते आध ॥
Kabeer, whether is is for an hour, half an hour, or half of that,
ਭਗਤਨ ਸੇਤੀ ਗੋਸਟੇ ਜੋ ਕੀਨੇ ਸੋ ਲਾਭ ॥੨੩੨॥
Bhagathan Saethee Gosattae Jo Keenae So Laabh ||232||
भगतन सेती गोसटे जो कीने सो लाभ ॥२३२॥
Whatever it is, it is worthwhile to speak with the Holy. ||232||

कबीर भांग माछुली सुरा पानि जो जो प्रानी खांहि ॥
Kabeer, those mortals who consume marijuana, fish and wine
ਤੀਰਥ ਬਰਤ ਨੇਮ ਕੀਏ ਤੇ ਸਭੈ ਰਸਾਤਲਿ ਜਾਂਹਿ ॥੨੩੩॥
Theerathh Barath Naem Keeeae Thae Sabhai Rasaathal Jaanhi ||233||
तीरथ बरत नेम कीए ते सभै रसातलि जांहि ॥२३३॥
- no matter what pilgrimages, fasts and rituals they follow, they will all go to hell. ||233||
ਨੀਚੇ ਲੋਇਨ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਉ ਲੇ ਸਾਜਨ ਘਟ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
Neechae Loein Kar Reho Lae Saajan Ghatt Maahi ||
नीचे लोइन करि रहउ ले साजन घट माहि ॥
Kabeer, I keep my eyes lowered, and enshrine my Friend within my heart.
ਸਭ ਰਸ ਖੇਲਉ ਪੀਅ ਸਉ ਕਿਸੀ ਲਖਾਵਉ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੨੩੪॥
Sabh Ras Khaelo Peea So Kisee Lakhaavo Naahi ||234||
सभ रस खेलउ पीअ सउ किसी लखावउ नाहि ॥२३४॥
I enjoy all pleasures with my Beloved, but I do not let anyone else know. ||234||
ਆਠ ਜਾਮ ਚਉਸਠਿ ਘਰੀ ਤੁਅ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਰਹੈ ਜੀਉ ॥
Aath Jaam Chousath Gharee Thua Nirakhath Rehai Jeeo ||
आठ जाम चउसठि घरी तुअ निरखत रहै जीउ ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, every hour, my soul continues to look to You, O Lord.
ਨੀਚੇ ਲੋਇਨ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਉ ਸਭ ਘਟ ਦੇਖਉ ਪੀਉ ॥੨੩੫॥

नीचे लोइन किउ करउ सभ घट देखउ पीउ ॥२३५॥
Why should I keep my eyes lowered? I see my Beloved in every heart. ||235||
ਸੁਨੁ ਸਖੀ ਪੀਅ ਮਹਿ ਜੀਉ ਬਸੈ ਜੀਅ ਮਹਿ ਬਸੈ ਕਿ ਪੀਉ ॥
Sun Sakhee Peea Mehi Jeeo Basai Jeea Mehi Basai K Peeo ||
सुनु सखी पीअ महि जीउ बसै जीअ महि बसै कि पीउ ॥
Listen, O my companions: my soul dwells in my Beloved, and my Beloved dwells in my soul.
ਜੀਉ ਪੀਉ ਬੂਝਉ ਨਹੀ ਘਟ ਮਹਿ ਜੀਉ ਕਿ ਪੀਉ ॥੨੩੬॥
Jeeo Peeo Boojho Nehee Ghatt Mehi Jeeo K Peeo ||236||
जीउ पीउ बूझउ नही घट महि जीउ कि पीउ ॥२३६॥
I realize that there is no difference between my soul and my Beloved; I cannot tell whether my soul or my Beloved dwells in my heart. ||236||
ਕਬੀਰ ਬਾਮਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਜਗਤ ਕਾ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥

कबीर बामनु गुरू है जगत का भगतन का गुरु नाहि ॥
Kabeer, the Brahmin may be the guru of the world, but he is not the Guru of the devotees.
ਅਰਝਿ ਉਰਝਿ ਕੈ ਪਚਿ ਮੂਆ ਚਾਰਉ ਬੇਦਹੁ ਮਾਹਿ ॥੨੩੭॥
Arajh Ourajh Kai Pach Mooaa Chaaro Baedhahu Maahi ||237||
अरझि उरझि कै पचि मूआ चारउ बेदहु माहि ॥२३७॥
He rots and dies in the perplexities of the four Vedas. ||237||
ਹਰਿ ਹੈ ਖਾਂਡੁ ਰੇਤੁ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਖਰੀ ਹਾਥੀ ਚੁਨੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
Har Hai Khaandd Raeth Mehi Bikharee Haathhee Chunee N Jaae ||
हरि है खांडु रेतु महि बिखरी हाथी चुनी न जाइ ॥
The Lord is like sugar, scattered in the sand; the elephant cannot pick it up.
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਗੁਰਿ ਭਲੀ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਕੀਟੀ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਖਾਇ ॥੨੩੮॥
Kehi Kabeer Gur Bhalee Bujhaaee Keettee Hoe Kai Khaae ||238||
कहि कबीर गुरि भली बुझाई कीटी होइ कै खाइ ॥२३८॥
Says Kabeer, the Guru has given me this sublime understanding: become an ant, and feed on it. ||238||

कबीर जउ तुहि साध पिरम की सीसु काटि करि गोइ ॥
Kabeer, if you desire to play the game of love with the Lord, then cut off your head, and make it into a ball.
ਖੇਲਤ ਖੇਲਤ ਹਾਲ ਕਰਿ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਹੋਇ ॥੨੩੯॥
Khaelath Khaelath Haal Kar Jo Kishh Hoe Th Hoe ||239||
खेलत खेलत हाल करि जो किछु होइ त होइ ॥२३९॥
Lose yourself in the play of it, and then whatever will be, will be. ||239||
ਕਬੀਰ ਜਉ ਤੁਹਿ ਸਾਧ ਪਿਰੰਮ ਕੀ ਪਾਕੇ ਸੇਤੀ ਖੇਲੁ ॥

कबीर जउ तुहि साध पिरम की पाके सेती खेलु ॥
Kabeer, if you desire to play the game of love with the Lord, play it with someone with committment.
ਕਾਚੀ ਸਰਸਉਂ ਪੇਲਿ ਕੈ ਨਾ ਖਲਿ ਭਈ ਨ ਤੇਲੁ ॥੨੪੦॥
Kaachee Sarasoun Pael Kai Naa Khal Bhee N Thael ||240||
काची सरसउं पेलि कै ना खलि भई न तेलु ॥२४०॥
Pressing the unripe mustard seeds produces neither oil nor flour. ||240||
ਢੂੰਢਤ ਡੋਲਹਿ ਅੰਧ ਗਤਿ ਅਰੁ ਚੀਨਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੰਤ ॥
Dtoondtath Ddolehi Andhh Gath Ar Cheenath Naahee Santh ||
ढूंढत डोलहि अंध गति अरु चीनत नाही संत ॥
Searching, the mortal stumbles like a blind person, and does not recognize the Saint.
ਕਹਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਹੁ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥੨੪੧॥
Kehi Naamaa Kio Paaeeai Bin Bhagathahu Bhagavanth ||241||
कहि नामा किउ पाईऐ बिनु भगतहु भगवंतु ॥२४१॥
Says Naam Dayv, how can one obtain the Lord God, without His devotee? ||241||
ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਹੀਰਾ ਛਾਡਿ ਕੈ ਕਰਹਿ ਆਨ ਕੀ ਆਸ ॥
Har So Heeraa Shhaadd Kai Karehi Aan Kee Aas ||
हरि सो हीरा छाडि कै करहि आन की आस ॥
Forsaking the Diamond of the Lord, the mortals put their hopes in another.
ਤੇ ਨਰ ਦੋਜਕ ਜਾਹਿਗੇ ਸਤਿ ਭਾਖੈ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ॥੨੪੨॥
Thae Nar Dhojak Jaahigae Sath Bhaakhai Ravidhaas ||242||
ते नर दोजक जाहिगे सति भाखै रविदास ॥२४२॥
Those people shall go to hell; Ravi Daas speaks the Truth. ||242||
ਕਬੀਰ ਜਉ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਤ ਧਰਮੁ ਕਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਤ ਕਰੁ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ॥
Kabeer Jo Grihu Karehi Th Dhharam Kar Naahee Th Kar Bairaag ||
कबीर जउ ग्रिहु करहि त धरमु करु नाही त करु बैरागु ॥
Kabeer, if you live the householder's life, then practice righteousness; otherwise, you might as well retire from the world.
ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਬੰਧਨੁ ਕਰੈ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਬਡੋ ਅਭਾਗੁ ॥੨੪੩॥
Bairaagee Bandhhan Karai Thaa Ko Baddo Abhaag ||243||
बैरागी बंधनु करै ता को बडो अभागु ॥२४३॥
If someone renounces the world, and then gets involved in worldly entanglements, he shall suffer terrible misfortune. ||243||

The day of the bride's wedding is pre-ordained.
ਮਲਕੁ ਜਿ ਕੰਨੀ ਸੁਣੀਦਾ ਮੁਹੁ ਦੇਖਾਲੇ ਆਇ ॥

मलकु जि कंनी सुणीदा मुहु देखाले आइ ॥
On that day, the Messenger of Death, of whom she had only heard, comes and shows its face.
ਜਿੰਦੁ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਕਢੀਐ ਹਡਾ ਕੂ ਕੜਕਾਇ ॥

जिंदु निमाणी कढीऐ हडा कू कड़काइ ॥
It breaks the bones of the body and pulls the helpless soul out.
ਸਾਹੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਨ ਚਲਨੀ ਜਿੰਦੂ ਕੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥
Saahae Likhae N Chalanee Jindhoo Koon Samajhaae ||
साहे लिखे न चलनी जिंदू कूं समझाइ ॥
That pre-ordained time of marriage cannot be avoided. Explain this to your soul.
ਜਿੰਦੁ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਮਰਣੁ ਵਰੁ ਲੈ ਜਾਸੀ ਪਰਣਾਇ ॥

जिंदु वहुटी मरणु वरु लै जासी परणाइ ॥
The soul is the bride, and death is the groom. He will marry her and take her away.
ਆਪਣ ਹਥੀ ਜੋਲਿ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਗਲਿ ਲਗੈ ਧਾਇ ॥
Aapan Hathhee Jol Kai Kai Gal Lagai Dhhaae ||
आपण हथी जोलि कै कै गलि लगै धाइ ॥
After the body sends her away with its own hands, whose neck will it embrace?
ਵਾਲਹੁ ਨਿਕੀ ਪੁਰਸਲਾਤ ਕੰਨੀ ਨ ਸੁਣੀ ਆਇ ॥

The bridge to hell is narrower than a hair; haven't you heard of it with your ears?

फरीदा किड़ी पवंदीई खड़ा न आपु मुहाइ ॥१॥
Fareed, the call has come; be careful now - don't let yourself be robbed. ||1||
