ਤਾਸੁ ਪਟੰਤਰ ਨਾ ਪੁਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥੧੫੯॥
Thaas Pattanthar N Pujai Har Jan Kee Panihaar ||159||
तासु पटंतर ना पुजै हरि जन की पनिहारि ॥१५९॥
But she is not equal to the water-carrier of the Lord's humble servant. ||159||
ਕਬੀਰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਨਾਰੀ ਕਿਉ ਨਿੰਦੀਐ ਕਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਰੀ ਕਉ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
Kabeer Nrip Naaree Kio Nindheeai Kio Har Chaeree Ko Maan ||
कबीर न्रिप नारी किउ निंदीऐ किउ हरि चेरी कउ मानु ॥
Kabeer, why do you slander the wife of the king? Why do you honor the slave of the Lord?
ਓਹ ਮਾਂਗ ਸਵਾਰੈ ਬਿਖੈ ਕਉ ਓਹ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧੬੦॥
Ouh Maang Savaarai Bikhai Ko Ouh Simarai Har Naam ||160||
ओह मांग सवारै बिखै कउ ओह सिमरै हरि नामु ॥१६०॥
Because one combs her hair for corruption, while the other remembers the Name of the Lord. ||160||
ਕਬੀਰ ਥੂਨੀ ਪਾਈ ਥਿਤਿ ਭਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬੰਧੀ ਧੀਰ ॥
Kabeer Thhoonee Paaee Thhith Bhee Sathigur Bandhhee Dhheer ||
कबीर थूनी पाई थिति भई सतिगुर बंधी धीर ॥
Kabeer, with the Support of the Lord's Pillar, I have become steady and stable.
ਕਬੀਰ ਹੀਰਾ ਬਨਜਿਆ ਮਾਨ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਤੀਰ ॥੧੬੧॥
Kabeer Heeraa Banajiaa Maan Sarovar Theer ||161||
कबीर हीरा बनजिआ मान सरोवर तीर ॥१६१॥
The True Guru has given me courage. Kabeer, I have purchased the diamond, on the banks of the Mansarovar Lake. ||161||
ਕਬੀਰ ਹਰਿ ਹੀਰਾ ਜਨ ਜਉਹਰੀ ਲੇ ਕੈ ਮਾਂਡੈ ਹਾਟ ॥
Kabeer Har Heeraa Jan Jouharee Lae Kai Maanddai Haatt ||
कबीर हरि हीरा जन जउहरी ले कै मांडै हाट ॥
Kabeer, the Lord is the Diamond, and the Lord's humble servant is the jeweller who has set up his shop.
ਜਬ ਹੀ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ਪਾਰਖੂ ਤਬ ਹੀਰਨ ਕੀ ਸਾਟ ॥੧੬੨॥
Jab Hee Paaeeahi Paarakhoo Thab Heeran Kee Saatt ||162||
जब ही पाईअहि पारखू तब हीरन की साट ॥१६२॥
As soon as an appraiser is found, the price of the jewel is set. ||162||
ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾਮ ਪਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਐਸਾ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਨਿਤ ॥
Kabeer Kaam Parae Har Simareeai Aisaa Simarahu Nith ||
कबीर काम परे हरि सिमरीऐ ऐसा सिमरहु नित ॥
Kabeer, you remember the Lord in meditation, only when the need arises. You should remember Him all the time.
ਅਮਰਾ ਪੁਰ ਬਾਸਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਗਇਆ ਬਹੋਰੈ ਬਿਤ ॥੧੬੩॥
Amaraa Pur Baasaa Karahu Har Gaeiaa Behorai Bith ||163||
अमरा पुर बासा करहु हरि गइआ बहोरै बित ॥१६३॥
You shall dwell in the city of immortality, and the Lord shall restore the wealth you lost. ||163||
ਕਬੀਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਉ ਦੁਇ ਭਲੇ ਏਕੁ ਸੰਤੁ ਇਕੁ ਰਾਮੁ ॥
Kabeer Saevaa Ko Dhue Bhalae Eaek Santh Eik Raam ||
कबीर सेवा कउ दुइ भले एकु संतु इकु रामु ॥
Kabeer, it is good to perform selfless service for two - the Saints and the Lord.
ਰਾਮੁ ਜੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕੋ ਸੰਤੁ ਜਪਾਵੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧੬੪॥
Raam J Dhaathaa Mukath Ko Santh Japaavai Naam ||164||
रामु जु दाता मुकति को संतु जपावै नामु ॥१६४॥
The Lord is the Giver of liberation, and the Saint inspires us to chant the Naam. ||164||
ਕਬੀਰ ਜਿਹ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਗਏ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਰੀ ਬਹੀਰ ॥
Kabeer Jih Maarag Panddith Geae Paashhai Paree Beheer ||
कबीर जिह मारगि पंडित गए पाछै परी बहीर ॥
Kabeer, the crowds follow the path which the Pandits, the religious scholars, have taken.
ਇਕ ਅਵਘਟ ਘਾਟੀ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਤਿਹ ਚੜਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਕਬੀਰ ॥੧੬੫॥
Eik Avaghatt Ghaattee Raam Kee Thih Charr Rehiou Kabeer ||165||
इक अवघट घाटी राम की तिह चड़ि रहिओ कबीर ॥१६५॥
There is a difficult and treacherous cliff on that path to the Lord; Kabeer is climbing that cliff. ||165||
ਕਬੀਰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੇ ਮੂਆ ਚਾਲਤ ਕੁਲ ਕੀ ਕਾਨਿ ॥
Kabeer Dhuneeaa Kae Dhokhae Mooaa Chaalath Kul Kee Kaan ||
कबीर दुनीआ के दोखे मूआ चालत कुल की कानि ॥
Kabeer, the mortal dies of his worldly troubles and pain, after worrying about his family.
ਤਬ ਕੁਲੁ ਕਿਸ ਕਾ ਲਾਜਸੀ ਜਬ ਲੇ ਧਰਹਿ ਮਸਾਨਿ ॥੧੬੬॥
Thab Kul Kis Kaa Laajasee Jab Lae Dhharehi Masaan ||166||
तब कुलु किस का लाजसी जब ले धरहि मसानि ॥१६६॥
Whose family is dishonored, when he is placed on the funeral pyre? ||166||
ਕਬੀਰ ਡੂਬਹਿਗੋ ਰੇ ਬਾਪੁਰੇ ਬਹੁ ਲੋਗਨ ਕੀ ਕਾਨਿ ॥
Kabeer Ddoobehigo Rae Baapurae Bahu Logan Kee Kaan ||
कबीर डूबहिगो रे बापुरे बहु लोगन की कानि ॥
Kabeer, you shall drown, you wretched being, from worrying about what other people think.
ਪਾਰੋਸੀ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਹੂਆ ਤੂ ਅਪਨੇ ਭੀ ਜਾਨੁ ॥੧੬੭॥
Paarosee Kae Jo Hooaa Thoo Apanae Bhee Jaan ||167||
पारोसी के जो हूआ तू अपने भी जानु ॥१६७॥
You know that whatever happens to your neighbors, will also happen to you. ||167||
ਕਬੀਰ ਭਲੀ ਮਧੂਕਰੀ ਨਾਨਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਜੁ ॥
Kabeer Bhalee Madhhookaree Naanaa Bidhh Ko Naaj ||
कबीर भली मधूकरी नाना बिधि को नाजु ॥
Kabeer, even dry bread, made of various grains, is good.
ਦਾਵਾ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਬਡਾ ਦੇਸੁ ਬਡ ਰਾਜੁ ॥੧੬੮॥
Dhaavaa Kaahoo Ko Nehee Baddaa Dhaes Badd Raaj ||168||
दावा काहू को नही बडा देसु बड राजु ॥१६८॥
No one brags about it, throughout the vast country and great empire. ||168||
ਕਬੀਰ ਦਾਵੈ ਦਾਝਨੁ ਹੋਤੁ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਦਾਵੈ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਸੰਕ ॥
Kabeer Dhaavai Dhaajhan Hoth Hai Niradhaavai Rehai Nisank ||
कबीर दावै दाझनु होतु है निरदावै रहै निसंक ॥
Kabeer, those who brag, shall burn. Those who do not brag remain carefree.
ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਦਾਵੈ ਰਹੈ ਸੋ ਗਨੈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੋ ਰੰਕ ॥੧੬੯॥
Jo Jan Niradhaavai Rehai So Ganai Eindhr So Rank ||169||
जो जनु निरदावै रहै सो गनै इंद्र सो रंक ॥१६९॥
That humble being who does not brag, looks upon the gods and the poor alike. ||169||
ਕਬੀਰ ਪਾਲਿ ਸਮੁਹਾ ਸਰਵਰੁ ਭਰਾ ਪੀ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਈ ਨੀਰੁ ॥
Kabeer Paal Samuhaa Saravar Bharaa Pee N Sakai Koee Neer ||
कबीर पालि समुहा सरवरु भरा पी न सकै कोई नीरु ॥
Kabeer, the pool is filled to overflowing, but no one can drink the water from it.
ਭਾਗ ਬਡੇ ਤੈ ਪਾਇਓ ਤੂੰ ਭਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਪੀਉ ਕਬੀਰ ॥੧੭੦॥
Bhaag Baddae Thai Paaeiou Thoon Bhar Bhar Peeo Kabeer ||170||
भाग बडे तै पाइओ तूं भरि भरि पीउ कबीर ॥१७०॥
By great good fortune, you have found it; drink it in handfuls, O Kabeer. ||170||
ਕਬੀਰ ਪਰਭਾਤੇ ਤਾਰੇ ਖਿਸਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਇਹੁ ਖਿਸੈ ਸਰੀਰੁ ॥
Kabeer Parabhaathae Thaarae Khisehi Thio Eihu Khisai Sareer ||
कबीर परभाते तारे खिसहि तिउ इहु खिसै सरीरु ॥
Kabeer, just as the stars disappear at dawn, so shall this body disappear.
ਏ ਦੁਇ ਅਖਰ ਨਾ ਖਿਸਹਿ ਸੋ ਗਹਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਕਬੀਰੁ ॥੧੭੧॥
Eae Dhue Akhar Naa Khisehi So Gehi Rehiou Kabeer ||171||
ए दुइ अखर ना खिसहि सो गहि रहिओ कबीरु ॥१७१॥
Only the letters of God's Name do not disappear; Kabeer holds these tight. ||171||
ਕਬੀਰ ਕੋਠੀ ਕਾਠ ਕੀ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਆਗਿ ॥
Kabeer Kothee Kaath Kee Dheh Dhis Laagee Aag ||
कबीर कोठी काठ की दह दिसि लागी आगि ॥
Kabeer, the wooden house is burning on all sides.
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜਲਿ ਮੂਏ ਮੂਰਖ ਉਬਰੇ ਭਾਗਿ ॥੧੭੨॥
Panddith Panddith Jal Mooeae Moorakh Oubarae Bhaag ||172||
पंडित पंडित जलि मूए मूरख उबरे भागि ॥१७२॥
The Pandits, the religious scholars, have been burnt to death, while the illiterate ones run to safety. ||172||
ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਸਾ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰੁ ਕਾਗਦ ਦੇਹ ਬਿਹਾਇ ॥
Kabeer Sansaa Dhoor Kar Kaagadh Dhaeh Bihaae ||
कबीर संसा दूरि करु कागद देह बिहाइ ॥
Kabeer, give up your skepticism; let your papers float away.
ਬਾਵਨ ਅਖਰ ਸੋਧਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੧੭੩॥
Baavan Akhar Sodhh Kai Har Charanee Chith Laae ||173||
बावन अखर सोधि कै हरि चरनी चितु लाइ ॥१७३॥
Find the essence of the letters of the alphabet, and focus your consciousness on the Lord. ||173||
ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਤੁ ਨ ਛਾਡੈ ਸੰਤਈ ਜਉ ਕੋਟਿਕ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਅਸੰਤ ॥
Kabeer Santh N Shhaaddai Santhee Jo Kottik Milehi Asanth ||
कबीर संतु न छाडै संतई जउ कोटिक मिलहि असंत ॥
Kabeer, the Saint does not forsake his Saintly nature, even though he meets with millions of evil-doers.
ਮਲਿਆਗਰੁ ਭੁਯੰਗਮ ਬੇਢਿਓ ਤ ਸੀਤਲਤਾ ਨ ਤਜੰਤ ॥੧੭੪॥
Maliaagar Bhuyangam Baedtiou Th Seethalathaa N Thajanth ||174||
मलिआगरु भुयंगम बेढिओ त सीतलता न तजंत ॥१७४॥
Even when sandalwood is surrounded by snakes, it does not give up its cooling fragrance. ||174||
ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਭਇਆ ਪਾਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
Kabeer Man Seethal Bhaeiaa Paaeiaa Breham Giaan ||
कबीर मनु सीतलु भइआ पाइआ ब्रहम गिआनु ॥
Kabeer, my mind is cooled and soothed; I have become God-conscious.
ਜਿਨਿ ਜੁਆਲਾ ਜਗੁ ਜਾਰਿਆ ਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਉਦਕ ਸਮਾਨਿ ॥੧੭੫॥
Jin Juaalaa Jag Jaariaa S Jan Kae Oudhak Samaan ||175||
जिनि जुआला जगु जारिआ सु जन के उदक समानि ॥१७५॥
The fire which has burnt the world is like water to the Lord's humble servant. ||175||
ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਕੀ ਜਾਨੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
Kabeer Saaree Sirajanehaar Kee Jaanai Naahee Koe ||
कबीर सारी सिरजनहार की जानै नाही कोइ ॥
Kabeer, no one knows the Play of the Creator Lord.
ਕੈ ਜਾਨੈ ਆਪਨ ਧਨੀ ਕੈ ਦਾਸੁ ਦੀਵਾਨੀ ਹੋਇ ॥੧੭੬॥
Kai Jaanai Aapan Dhhanee Kai Dhaas Dheevaanee Hoe ||176||
कै जानै आपन धनी कै दासु दीवानी होइ ॥१७६॥
Only the Lord Himself and the slaves at His Court understand it. ||176||
ਕਬੀਰ ਭਲੀ ਭਈ ਜੋ ਭਉ ਪਰਿਆ ਦਿਸਾ ਗਈ ਸਭ ਭੂਲਿ ॥
Kabeer Bhalee Bhee Jo Bho Pariaa Dhisaa Geanaee Sabh Bhool ||
कबीर भली भई जो भउ परिआ दिसा गईं सभ भूलि ॥
Kabeer, it is good that I feel the Fear of God; I have forgotten everything else.
