सदा अकल लिव रहै करन सिउ इछा चारह ॥

ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਸਪੂਰ ਜਿਉ ਨਿਵੈ ਖਵੈ ਕਸੁ ਬਿਮਲ ਬੀਚਾਰਹ ॥
Dhraam Sapoor Jio Nivai Khavai Kas Bimal Beechaareh ||
द्रुम सपूर जिउ निवै खवै कसु बिमल बीचारह ॥
Like the tree heavy with fruit, You bow in humility, and endure the pain of it; You are pure of thought.
ਇਹੈ ਤਤੁ ਜਾਣਿਓ ਸਰਬ ਗਤਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਬਿਡਾਣੀ ॥
Eihai Thath Jaaniou Sarab Gath Alakh Biddaanee ||
इहै ततु जाणिओ सरब गति अलखु बिडाणी ॥
You realize this reality, that the Lord is All-pervading, Unseen and Amazing.
ਸਹਜ ਭਾਇ ਸੰਚਿਓ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਲ ਬਾਣੀ ॥

सहज भाइ संचिओ किरणि अम्रित कल बाणी ॥

Gur Gam Pramaan Thai Paaeiou Sath Santhokh Graahaj Laya ||
गुर गमि प्रमाणु तै पाइओ सतु संतोखु ग्राहजि लयौ ॥
You have risen to the state of the certified Guru; you grasp truth and contentment.
ਹਰਿ ਪਰਸਿਓ ਕਲੁ ਸਮੁਲਵੈ ਜਨ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਲਹਣੇ ਭਯੌ ॥੬॥
Har Parasiou Kal Samulavai Jan Dharasan Lehanae Bhaya ||6||
हरि परसिओ कलु समुलवै जन दरसनु लहणे भयौ ॥६॥

मनि बिसासु पाइओ गहरि गहु हदरथि दीओ ॥
My mind has faith, that the Prophet has given You access to the Profound Lord.
ਗਰਲ ਨਾਸੁ ਤਨਿ ਨਠਯੋ ਅਮਿਉ ਅੰਤਰਗਤਿ ਪੀਓ ॥

गरल नासु तनि नठयो अमिउ अंतरगति पीओ ॥
Your body has been purged of the deadly poison; You drink the Ambrosial Nectar deep within.

उदारउ चित दारिद हरन पिखंतिह कलमल त्रसन ॥
You are open-minded and large-hearted, the Destroyer of poverty; seeing You, sins are afraid.

सद रंगि सहजि कलु उचरै जसु ज्मपउ लहणे रसन ॥७॥

Naam Avakhadhh Naam Aadhhaar Ar Naam Samaadhh Sukh Sadhaa Naam Neesaan Sohai ||
नामु अवखधु नामु आधारु अरु नामु समाधि सुखु सदा नाम नीसाणु सोहै ॥
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is our medicine; the Naam is our support; the Naam is the peace of Samaadhi. The Naam is the insignia which embellishes us forever.
ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੌ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਕਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰਹ ਬੋਹੈ ॥

रंगि रतौ नाम सिउ कल नामु सुरि नरह बोहै ॥

नाम परसु जिनि पाइओ सतु प्रगटिओ रवि लोइ ॥
Whoever obtains the Naam, the Philosopher's Stone, becomes the embodiment of Truth, manifest and radiant throughout the world.
ਦਰਸਨਿ ਪਰਸਿਐ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੈ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੮॥

दरसनि परसिऐ गुरू कै अठसठि मजनु होइ ॥८॥
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan, it is as if one has bathed at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage. ||8||
ਸਚੁ ਤੀਰਥੁ ਸਚੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਅਰੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਸਚੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਭਾਖੰਤੁ ਸੋਹੈ ॥
Sach Theerathh Sach Eisanaan Ar Bhojan Bhaao Sach Sadhaa Sach Bhaakhanth Sohai ||
सचु तीरथु सचु इसनानु अरु भोजनु भाउ सचु सदा सचु भाखंतु सोहै ॥
The True Name is the sacred shrine, the True Name is the cleansing bath of purification and food. The True Name is eternal love; chant the True Name, and be embellished.
ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਬੋਹੈ ॥

सचु पाइओ गुर सबदि सचु नामु संगती बोहै ॥
The True Name is obtained through the Word of the Guru's Shabad; the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, is fragrant with the True Name.
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਵਰਤੁ ਸਚੁ ਕਬਿ ਜਨ ਕਲ ਵਖਾਣੁ ॥
Jis Sach Sanjam Varath Sach Kab Jan Kal Vakhaan ||
जिसु सचु संजमु वरतु सचु कबि जन कल वखाणु ॥

अमिअ द्रिसटि सुभ करै हरै अघ पाप सकल मल ॥
When You bestow Your Ambrosial Glance of Grace, You eradicate all wickedness, sin and filth.
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਰੁ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਵਸਿ ਕਰੈ ਸਭੈ ਬਲ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Ar Lobh Moh Vas Karai Sabhai Bal ||
काम क्रोध अरु लोभ मोह वसि करै सभै बल ॥
Sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment - You have overcome all these powerful passions.
ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਹ ਖੋਵੈ ॥
Sadhaa Sukh Man Vasai Dhukh Sansaareh Khovai ||
सदा सुखु मनि वसै दुखु संसारह खोवै ॥
Your mind is filled with peace forever; You banish the sufferings of the world.
ਗੁਰੁ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਦਰੀਆਉ ਜਨਮ ਹਮ ਕਾਲਖ ਧੋਵੈ ॥
Gur Nav Nidhh Dhareeaao Janam Ham Kaalakh Dhhovai ||
गुरु नव निधि दरीआउ जनम हम कालख धोवै ॥
The Guru is the river of the nine treasures, washing off the dirt of our lives.
ਸੁ ਕਹੁ ਟਲ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

सु कहु टल गुरु सेवीऐ अहिनिसि सहजि सुभाइ ॥

जिनि भगत भवजल तारे सिमरहु सोई नामु परधानु ॥
He carries His devotees across the terrifying world-ocean; meditate in remembrance on His Naam, Supreme and Sublime.

Thith Naam Rasik Naanak Lehanaa Thhapiou Jaen Srab Sidhhee ||
तितु नामि रसिकु नानकु लहणा थपिओ जेन स्रब सिधी ॥
Nanak delighted in the Naam; He established Lehnaa as Guru, who was imbued with all supernatural spiritual powers.
