Raam Simar Raam Simar Eihai Thaerai Kaaj Hai ||
रामु सिमरि रामु सिमरि इहै तेरै काजि है ॥
Meditate in remembrance on the Lord - meditate on the Lord; this alone shall be of use to you.
ਮਾਇਆ ਕੋ ਸੰਗੁ ਤਿਆਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੂ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਲਾਗੁ ॥

माइआ को संगु तिआगु प्रभ जू की सरनि लागु ॥
Abandon your association with Maya, and take shelter in the Sanctuary of God.

सुपने जिउ धनु पछानु काहे परि करत मानु ॥
You must understand that this wealth is just a dream. Why are you so proud?
ਬਾਰੂ ਕੀ ਭੀਤਿ ਜੈਸੇ ਬਸੁਧਾ ਕੋ ਰਾਜੁ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

बारू की भीति जैसे बसुधा को राजु है ॥१॥
The empires of the earth are like walls of sand. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਕਹਤੁ ਬਾਤ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜੈਹੈ ਤੇਰੋ ਗਾਤੁ ॥

Raam Bhaj Raam Bhaj Janam Siraath Hai ||
रामु भजु रामु भजु जनमु सिरातु है ॥
Meditate on the Lord - vibrate on the Lord; your life is slipping away.
ਕਹਉ ਕਹਾ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਸਮਝਤ ਨਹ ਕਿਉ ਗਵਾਰ ॥
Keho Kehaa Baar Baar Samajhath Neh Kio Gavaar ||
कहउ कहा बार बार समझत नह किउ गवार ॥
Why am I telling you this again and again? You fool - why don't you understand?
ਬਿਨਸਤ ਨਹ ਲਗੈ ਬਾਰ ਓਰੇ ਸਮ ਗਾਤੁ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

बिनसत नह लगै बार ओरे सम गातु है ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Your body is like a hail-stone; it melts away in no time at all. ||1||Pause||
ਸਗਲ ਭਰਮ ਡਾਰਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੇਹਿ ॥
Sagal Bharam Ddaar Dhaehi Gobindh Ko Naam Laehi ||
सगल भरम डारि देहि गोबिंद को नामु लेहि ॥
So give up all your doubts, and utter the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਅੰਤਿ ਬਾਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਇਹੈ ਏਕੁ ਜਾਤੁ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Anth Baar Sang Thaerai Eihai Eaek Jaath Hai ||1||
अंति बार संगि तेरै इहै एकु जातु है ॥१॥
At the very last moment, this alone shall go along with you. ||1||
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਜਿਉ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੌ ਜਸੁ ਹੀਏ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
Bikhiaa Bikh Jio Bisaar Prabh Ka Jas Heeeae Dhhaar ||
बिखिआ बिखु जिउ बिसारि प्रभ कौ जसु हीए धारि ॥
Forget the poisonous sins of corruption, and enshrine the Praises of God in your heart.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਕਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਬਿਹਾਤੁ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥

रे मन कउन गति होइ है तेरी ॥
O mortal, what will your condition be?
ਇਹ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੋ ਤਉ ਨਹੀ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਕਾਨਿ ॥
Eih Jag Mehi Raam Naam So Tho Nehee Suniou Kaan ||
इह जग महि राम नामु सो तउ नही सुनिओ कानि ॥
In this world, you have not listened to the Lord's Name.
ਬਿਖਿਅਨ ਸਿਉ ਅਤਿ ਲੁਭਾਨਿ ਮਤਿ ਨਾਹਿਨ ਫੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

बिखिअन सिउ अति लुभानि मति नाहिन फेरी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

मानस को जनमु लीनु सिमरनु नह निमख कीनु ॥
You obtained this human life, but you have not remembered the Lord in meditation, even for an instant.
ਦਾਰਾ ਸੁਖ ਭਇਓ ਦੀਨੁ ਪਗਹੁ ਪਰੀ ਬੇਰੀ ॥੧॥
Dhaaraa Sukh Bhaeiou Dheen Pagahu Paree Baeree ||1||
दारा सुख भइओ दीनु पगहु परी बेरी ॥१॥
For the sake of pleasure, you have become subservient to your woman, and now your feet are bound. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਕਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਜਿਉ ਜਗ ਪਸਾਰੁ ॥

नानक जन कहि पुकारि सुपनै जिउ जग पसारु ॥

बीत जैहै बीत जैहै जनमु अकाजु रे ॥
Slipping away - your life is uselessly slipping away.
ਨਿਸਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਮਝਤ ਨਹ ਰੇ ਅਜਾਨ ॥
Nis Dhin Sun Kai Puraan Samajhath Neh Rae Ajaan ||
निसि दिनु सुनि कै पुरान समझत नह रे अजान ॥
Night and day, you listen to the Puraanas, but you do not understand them, you ignorant fool!
ਕਾਲੁ ਤਉ ਪਹੂਚਿਓ ਆਨਿ ਕਹਾ ਜੈਹੈ ਭਾਜਿ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
