ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾਂ ਆਪੇ ਲੈਹਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥
Nadhar Karehi Jae Aapanee Thaan Aapae Laihi Savaar ||
नदरि करहि जे आपणी तां आपे लैहि सवारि ॥
But if the Lord casts His Glance of Grace, then He Himself embellishes us.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਆਏ ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥੬੩॥
Naanak Guramukh Jinhee Dhhiaaeiaa Aaeae Sae Paravaan ||63||
नानक गुरमुखि जिन्ही धिआइआ आए से परवाणु ॥६३॥
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs meditate on the Lord; blessed and approved is their coming into the world. ||63||
ਜੋਗੁ ਨ ਭਗਵੀ ਕਪੜੀ ਜੋਗੁ ਨ ਮੈਲੇ ਵੇਸਿ ॥
Jog N Bhagavee Kaparree Jog N Mailae Vaes ||
जोगु न भगवी कपड़ी जोगु न मैले वेसि ॥
Yoga is not obtained by wearing saffron robes; Yoga is not obtained by wearing dirty robes.
ਨਾਨਕ ਘਰਿ ਬੈਠਿਆ ਜੋਗੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ॥੬੪॥
Naanak Ghar Baithiaa Jog Paaeeai Sathigur Kai Oupadhaes ||64||
नानक घरि बैठिआ जोगु पाईऐ सतिगुर कै उपदेसि ॥६४॥
O Nanak, Yoga is obtained even while sitting in your own home, by following the Teachings of the True Guru. ||64||
ਚਾਰੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਜੇ ਭਵਹਿ ਬੇਦ ਪੜਹਿ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰਿ ॥
Chaarae Kunddaa Jae Bhavehi Baedh Parrehi Jug Chaar ||
चारे कुंडा जे भवहि बेद पड़हि जुग चारि ॥
You may wander in all four directions, and read the Vedas throughout the four ages.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਾ ਭੇਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰ ॥੬੫॥
Naanak Saachaa Bhaettai Har Man Vasai Paavehi Mokh Dhuaar ||65||
नानक साचा भेटै हरि मनि वसै पावहि मोख दुआर ॥६५॥
O Nanak, if you meet with the True Guru, the Lord shall come to dwell within your mind, and you shall find the door of salvation. ||65||
ਨਾਨਕ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਮਤਿ ਭਵੀ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਚਲ ਚਿਤ ॥
Naanak Hukam Varathai Khasam Kaa Math Bhavee Firehi Chal Chith ||
नानक हुकमु वरतै खसम का मति भवी फिरहि चल चित ॥
O Nanak, the Hukam, the Command of your Lord and Master, is prevailing. The intellectually confused person wanders around lost, misled by his fickle consciousness.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਸਉ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਸੁਖ ਕਿ ਪੁਛਹਿ ਮਿਤ ॥
Manamukh So Kar Dhosathee Sukh K Pushhehi Mith ||
मनमुख सउ करि दोसती सुख कि पुछहि मित ॥
If you make friends with the self-willed manmukhs, O friend, who can you ask for peace?
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਉ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਉ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ॥
Guramukh So Kar Dhosathee Sathigur So Laae Chith ||
गुरमुख सउ करि दोसती सतिगुर सउ लाइ चितु ॥
Make friends with the Gurmukhs, and focus your consciousness on the True Guru.
ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਣ ਕਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਵੀ ਮਿਤ ॥੬੬॥
Janman Maran Kaa Mool Katteeai Thaan Sukh Hovee Mith ||66||
जमण मरण का मूलु कटीऐ तां सुखु होवी मित ॥६६॥
The root of birth and death will be cut away, and then, you shall find peace, O friend. ||66||
ਭੁਲਿਆਂ ਆਪਿ ਸਮਝਾਇਸੀ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥
Bhuliaaan Aap Samajhaaeisee Jaa Ko Nadhar Karae ||
भुलिआं आपि समझाइसी जा कउ नदरि करे ॥
The Lord Himself instructs those who are misguided, when He casts His Glance of Grace.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਕਰਣ ਪਲਾਹ ਕਰੇ ॥੬੭॥
Naanak Nadharee Baaharee Karan Palaah Karae ||67||
नानक नदरी बाहरी करण पलाह करे ॥६७॥
O Nanak, those who are not blessed by His Glance of Grace, cry and weep and wail. ||67||

ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
Vaddabhaageeaa Sohaaganee Jinhaa Guramukh Miliaa Har Raae ||
वडभागीआ सोहागणी जिन्हा गुरमुखि मिलिआ हरि राइ ॥
Blessed and very fortunate are those happy soul-brides who, as Gurmukh, meet their Sovereign Lord King.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੀਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥

अंतरि जोति परगासीआ नानक नामि समाइ ॥१॥
The Light of God shines within them; O Nanak, they are absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||

Vaahu Vaahu Sathigur Purakh Hai Jin Sach Jaathaa Soe ||
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरु पुरखु है जिनि सचु जाता सोइ ॥
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, the Primal Being, who has realized the True Lord.
ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਤਿਖ ਉਤਰੈ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
Jith Miliai Thikh Outharai Than Man Seethal Hoe ||
जितु मिलिऐ तिख उतरै तनु मनु सीतलु होइ ॥
Meeting Him, thirst is quenched, and the body and mind are cooled and soothed.
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਮਤੁ ਸਭ ਕੋਇ ॥
Vaahu Vaahu Sathigur Sath Purakh Hai Jis No Samath Sabh Koe ||
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरु सति पुरखु है जिस नो समतु सभ कोइ ॥
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, the True Primal Being, who looks upon all alike.
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਤੁਲਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
Vaahu Vaahu Sathigur Niravair Hai Jis Nindhaa Ousathath Thul Hoe ||
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरु निरवैरु है जिसु निंदा उसतति तुलि होइ ॥
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, who has no hatred; slander and praise are all the same to Him.
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥

वाहु वाहु सतिगुरु सुजाणु है जिसु अंतरि ब्रहमु वीचारु ॥
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the All-knowing True Guru, who has realized God within.
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥
Vaahu Vaahu Sathigur Nirankaar Hai Jis Anth N Paaraavaar ||
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरु निरंकारु है जिसु अंतु न पारावारु ॥
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the Formless True Guru, who has no end or limitation.
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਜਿ ਸਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਸੋਇ ॥
Vaahu Vaahu Sathiguroo Hai J Sach Dhrirraaeae Soe ||
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरू है जि सचु द्रिड़ाए सोइ ॥
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, who implants the Truth within.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥

नानक सतिगुर वाहु वाहु जिस ते नामु परापति होइ ॥२॥
O Nanak, Blessed and Great is the True Guru, through whom the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is received. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥
Har Prabh Sachaa Sohilaa Guramukh Naam Govindh ||
हरि प्रभ सचा सोहिला गुरमुखि नामु गोविंदु ॥
For the Gurmukh, the true Song of Praise is to chant the Name of the Lord God.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ॥
Anadhin Naam Salaahanaa Har Japiaa Man Aanandh ||
अनदिनु नामु सलाहणा हरि जपिआ मनि आनंदु ॥
Chanting the Praises of the Lord, their minds are in ecstasy.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦੁ ॥
Vaddabhaagee Har Paaeiaa Pooran Paramaanandh ||
वडभागी हरि पाइआ पूरन परमानंदु ॥
By great good fortune, they find the Lord, the Embodiment of perfect, supreme bliss.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭੰਗੁ ॥੩॥
Jan Naanak Naam Salaahiaa Bahurr N Man Than Bhang ||3||
जन नानक नामु सलाहिआ बहुड़ि न मनि तनि भंगु ॥३॥
Servant Nanak praises the Naam, the Name of the Lord; no obstacle will block his mind or body. ||3||
ਮੂੰ ਪਿਰੀਆ ਸਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਕਿਉ ਸਜਣ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ॥
Moon Pireeaa So Naehu Kio Sajan Milehi Piaariaa ||
मूं पिरीआ सउ नेहु किउ सजण मिलहि पिआरिआ ॥
I am in love with my Beloved; how can I meet my Dear Friend?
ਹਉ ਢੂਢੇਦੀ ਤਿਨ ਸਜਣ ਸਚਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
Ho Dtoodtaedhee Thin Sajan Sach Savaariaa ||
हउ ढूढेदी तिन सजण सचि सवारिआ ॥
I seek that friend, who is embellished with Truth.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੈਡਾ ਮਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
Sathigur Maiddaa Mith Hai Jae Milai Th Eihu Man Vaariaa ||
सतिगुरु मैडा मितु है जे मिलै त इहु मनु वारिआ ॥
The True Guru is my Friend; if I meet Him, I will offer this mind as a sacrifice to Him.
ਦੇਂਦਾ ਮੂੰ ਪਿਰੁ ਦਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਿਆ ॥
Dhaenadhaa Moon Pir Dhas Har Sajan Sirajanehaariaa ||
देंदा मूं पिरु दसि हरि सजणु सिरजणहारिआ ॥
He has shown me my Beloved Lord, my Friend, the Creator.
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉ ਪਿਰੁ ਭਾਲੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਲਿਆ ॥੪॥
Naanak Ho Pir Bhaalee Aapanaa Sathigur Naal Dhikhaaliaa ||4||
नानक हउ पिरु भाली आपणा सतिगुर नालि दिखालिआ ॥४॥
O Nanak, I was searching for my Beloved; the True Guru has shown me that He has been with me all the time. ||4||
ਹਉ ਖੜੀ ਨਿਹਾਲੀ ਪੰਧੁ ਮਤੁ ਮੂੰ ਸਜਣੁ ਆਵਏ ॥
Ho Kharree Nihaalee Pandhh Math Moon Sajan Aaveae ||
हउ खड़ी निहाली पंधु मतु मूं सजणु आवए ॥
I stand by the side of the road, waiting for You; O my Friend, I hope that You will come.
ਕੋ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਅਜੁ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਏ ॥
Ko Aan Milaavai Aj Mai Pir Mael Milaaveae ||
को आणि मिलावै अजु मै पिरु मेलि मिलावए ॥
If only someone would come today and unite me in Union with my Beloved.
