ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥
Jeea Dhaan Dhaee Thripathaasae Sachai Naam Samaahee ||
जीअ दानु देइ त्रिपतासे सचै नामि समाही ॥
Bestowing the gift of the soul, He satisfies the mortal beings, and merges them in the True Name.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
Anadhin Har Raviaa Ridh Anthar Sehaj Samaadhh Lagaahee ||2||
अनदिनु हरि रविआ रिद अंतरि सहजि समाधि लगाही ॥२॥
Night and day, they ravish and enjoy the Lord within the heart; they are intuitively absorbed in Samaadhi. ||2||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭੇਦਿਆ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
Sathigur Sabadhee Eihu Man Bhaedhiaa Hiradhai Saachee Baanee ||
सतिगुर सबदी इहु मनु भेदिआ हिरदै साची बाणी ॥
The Shabad, the Word of the True Guru, has pierced my mind. The True Word of His Bani permeates my heart.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥
Maeraa Prabh Alakh N Jaaee Lakhiaa Guramukh Akathh Kehaanee ||
मेरा प्रभु अलखु न जाई लखिआ गुरमुखि अकथ कहाणी ॥
My God is Unseen; He cannot be seen. The Gurmukh speaks the Unspoken.
ਆਪੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਜਪੀਐ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
Aapae Dhaeiaa Karae Sukhadhaathaa Japeeai Saaringapaanee ||3||
आपे दइआ करे सुखदाता जपीऐ सारिंगपाणी ॥३॥
When the Giver of peace grants His Grace, the mortal being meditates on the Lord, the Life of the Universe. ||3||
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
Aavan Jaanaa Bahurr N Hovai Guramukh Sehaj Dhhiaaeiaa ||
आवण जाणा बहुड़ि न होवै गुरमुखि सहजि धिआइआ ॥
He does not come and go in renicarnation any longer; the Gurmukh meditates intuitively.
ਮਨ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮੰਨੁ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
Man Hee Thae Man Miliaa Suaamee Man Hee Mann Samaaeiaa ||
मन ही ते मनु मिलिआ सुआमी मन ही मंनु समाइआ ॥
From the mind, the mind merges into our Lord and Master; the mind is absorbed into the Mind.
ਸਾਚੇ ਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਚਿ ਪਤੀਜੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੪॥
Saachae Hee Sach Saach Patheejai Vichahu Aap Gavaaeiaa ||4||
साचे ही सचु साचि पतीजै विचहु आपु गवाइआ ॥४॥
In truth, the True Lord is pleased with truth; eradicate egotism from within yourself. ||4||
ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
Eaeko Eaek Vasai Man Suaamee Dhoojaa Avar N Koee ||
एको एकु वसै मनि सुआमी दूजा अवरु न कोई ॥
Our One and Only Lord and Master dwells within the mind; there is no other at all.
ਏਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਮੀਠਾ ਜਗਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
Eaekuo Naam Anmrith Hai Meethaa Jag Niramal Sach Soee ||
एको नामु अम्रितु है मीठा जगि निरमल सचु सोई ॥
The One Name is Sweet Ambrosial Nectar; it is Immaculate Truth in the world.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਈ ॥੫॥੪॥
Naanak Naam Prabhoo Thae Paaeeai Jin Ko Dhhur Likhiaa Hoee ||5||4||
नानक नामु प्रभू ते पाईऐ जिन कउ धुरि लिखिआ होई ॥५॥४॥
O Nanak, the Name of God is obtained, by those who are so predestined. ||5||4||

ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਨਾਮੇ ਸਭਿ ਉਧਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
Gan Gandhharab Naamae Sabh Oudhharae Gur Kaa Sabadh Veechaar ||
गण गंधरब नामे सभि उधरे गुर का सबदु वीचारि ॥
All the heavenly heralds and celestial singers are saved through the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਦ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
Houmai Maar Sadh Mann Vasaaeiaa Har Raakhiaa Our Dhhaar ||
हउमै मारि सद मंनि वसाइआ हरि राखिआ उरि धारि ॥
They contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad. Subduing their ego, the Name abides in their minds; they keep the Lord enshrined in their hearts.
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
Jisehi Bujhaaeae Soee Boojhai Jis No Aapae Leae Milaae ||
जिसहि बुझाए सोई बूझै जिस नो आपे लए मिलाइ ॥
He alone understands, whom the Lord causes to understand; the Lord unites him with Himself.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੇ ਗਾਂਵੈ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
Anadhin Baanee Sabadhae Gaanvai Saach Rehai Liv Laae ||1||
अनदिनु बाणी सबदे गांवै साचि रहै लिव लाइ ॥१॥
Night and day, he sings the Word of the Shabad and the Guru's Bani; he remains lovingly attuned to the True Lord. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ॥
Man Maerae Khin Khin Naam Samhaal ||
मन मेरे खिनु खिनु नामु सम्हालि ॥
O my mind, each and every moment, dwell on the Naam.
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਖੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

गुर की दाति सबद सुखु अंतरि सदा निबहै तेरै नालि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Shabad is the Guru's Gift. It shall bring you lasting peace deep within; it shall always stand by you. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਪਾਖੰਡੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੂਕੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
Manamukh Paakhandd Kadhae N Chookai Dhoojai Bhaae Dhukh Paaeae ||
मनमुख पाखंडु कदे न चूकै दूजै भाइ दुखु पाए ॥
The self-willed manmukhs never give up their hypocrisy; in the love of duality, they suffer in pain.
ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥
Naam Visaar Bikhiaa Man Raathae Birathhaa Janam Gavaaeae ||
नामु विसारि बिखिआ मनि राते बिरथा जनमु गवाए ॥
Forgetting the Naam, their minds are imbued with corruption. They waste away their lives uselessly.
ਇਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਪਛੁਤਾਏ ॥
Eih Vaelaa Fir Hathh N Aavai Anadhin Sadhaa Pashhuthaaeae ||
इह वेला फिरि हथि न आवै अनदिनु सदा पछुताए ॥
This opportunity shall not come into their hands again; night and day, they shall always regret and repent.
ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੨॥
Mar Mar Janamai Kadhae N Boojhai Visattaa Maahi Samaaeae ||2||
मरि मरि जनमै कदे न बूझै विसटा माहि समाए ॥२॥
They die and die again and again, only to be reborn, but they never understand. They rot away in manure. ||2||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
Guramukh Naam Rathae Sae Oudhharae Gur Kaa Sabadh Veechaar ||
गुरमुखि नामि रते से उधरे गुर का सबदु वीचारि ॥
The Gurmukhs are imbued with the Naam, and are saved; they contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
Jeevan Mukath Har Naam Dhhiaaeiaa Har Raakhiaa Our Dhhaar ||
जीवन मुकति हरि नामु धिआइआ हरि राखिआ उरि धारि ॥
Meditating on the Name of the Lord, they are Jivan-mukta, liberated while yet alive. They enshrine the Lord within their hearts.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਹੋਈ ॥
Man Than Niramal Niramal Math Ootham Ootham Baanee Hoee ||
मनु तनु निरमलु निरमल मति ऊतम ऊतम बाणी होई ॥
Their minds and bodies are immaculate, their intellect is immaculate and sublime. Their speech is sublime as well.
ਏਕੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਏਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥
Eaeko Purakh Eaek Prabh Jaathaa Dhoojaa Avar N Koee ||3||
एको पुरखु एकु प्रभु जाता दूजा अवरु न कोई ॥३॥
They realize the One Primal Being, the One Lord God. There is no other at all. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
Aapae Karae Karaaeae Prabh Aapae Aapae Nadhar Karaee ||
आपे करे कराए प्रभु आपे आपे नदरि करेइ ॥
God Himself is the Doer, and He Himself is the Cause of causes. He Himself bestows His Glance of Grace.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਮੇਇ ॥
Man Than Raathaa Gur Kee Baanee Saevaa Surath Samaee ||
मनु तनु राता गुर की बाणी सेवा सुरति समेइ ॥
My mind and body are imbued with the Word of the Guru's Bani. My consciousness is immersed in His service.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਲਖਾਇ ॥
Anthar Vasiaa Alakh Abhaevaa Guramukh Hoe Lakhaae ||
अंतरि वसिआ अलख अभेवा गुरमुखि होइ लखाइ ॥
The Unseen and Inscrutable Lord dwells deep within. He is seen only by the Gurmukh.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੫॥
Naanak Jis Bhaavai This Aapae Dhaevai Bhaavai Thivai Chalaae ||4||5||
नानक जिसु भावै तिसु आपे देवै भावै तिवै चलाइ ॥४॥५॥
O Nanak, He gives to whomever He pleases. According to the Pleasure of His Will, He leads the mortals on. ||4||5||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ਘਰੁ ਦਰੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਸੁ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
Sathigur Thae Paavai Ghar Dhar Mehal S Thhaan ||
सतिगुर ते पावै घरु दरु महलु सु थानु ॥
Through the True Guru the mortal obtains the special place the Mansion of the Lord's Presence in his own home.
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
Gur Sabadhee Chookai Abhimaan ||1||
गुर सबदी चूकै अभिमानु ॥१॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, his egotistical pride is dispelled. ||1||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
Jin Ko Lilaatt Likhiaa Dhhur Naam ||
जिन कउ लिलाटि लिखिआ धुरि नामु ॥
Those who have the Naam inscribed on their foreheads,
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

अनदिनु नामु सदा सदा धिआवहि साची दरगह पावहि मानु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Meditate on the Naam night and day, forever and ever. They are honored in the True Court of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਦ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
Man Kee Bidhh Sathigur Thae Jaanai Anadhin Laagai Sadh Har Sio Dhhiaan ||
मन की बिधि सतिगुर ते जाणै अनदिनु लागै सद हरि सिउ धिआनु ॥
From the True Guru, they learn the ways and means of the mind. Night and day, they focus their meditation on the Lord forever.
