Weaving the seven threads together, they carry on their trade.

They are led on by the karma of their past actions.
ਤੀਨਿ ਜਗਾਤੀ ਕਰਤ ਰਾਰਿ ॥

तीनि जगाती करत रारि ॥
The three tax-collectors argue with them.
ਚਲੋ ਬਨਜਾਰਾ ਹਾਥ ਝਾਰਿ ॥੨॥

चलो बनजारा हाथ झारि ॥२॥
The traders depart empty-handed. ||2||
ਪੂੰਜੀ ਹਿਰਾਨੀ ਬਨਜੁ ਟੂਟ ॥

पूंजी हिरानी बनजु टूट ॥
Their capital is exhausted, and their trade is ruined.
ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਟਾਂਡੋ ਗਇਓ ਫੂਟਿ ॥
Dheh Dhis Ttaanddo Gaeiou Foott ||
दह दिस टांडो गइओ फूटि ॥
The caravan is scattered in the ten directions.
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨ ਸਰਸੀ ਕਾਜ ॥

कहि कबीर मन सरसी काज ॥
Says Kabeer, O mortal, your tasks will be accomplished,

माता जूठी पिता भी जूठा जूठे ही फल लागे ॥
The mother is impure, and the father is impure. The fruit they produce is impure.
ਆਵਹਿ ਜੂਠੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਭੀ ਜੂਠੇ ਜੂਠੇ ਮਰਹਿ ਅਭਾਗੇ ॥੧॥
Aavehi Joothae Jaahi Bhee Joothae Joothae Marehi Abhaagae ||1||
आवहि जूठे जाहि भी जूठे जूठे मरहि अभागे ॥१॥
Impure they come, and impure they go. The unfortunate ones die in impurity. ||1||

जिहबा जूठी बोलत जूठा करन नेत्र सभि जूठे ॥
The tongue is impure, and its speech is impure. The eyes and ears are totally impure.

इंद्री की जूठि उतरसि नाही ब्रहम अगनि के लूठे ॥२॥
The impurity of the sexual organs does not depart; the Brahmin is burnt by the fire. ||2||

अगनि भी जूठी पानी जूठा जूठी बैसि पकाइआ ॥
The fire is impure, and the water is impure. The place where you sit and cook is impure.
ਜੂਠੀ ਕਰਛੀ ਪਰੋਸਨ ਲਾਗਾ ਜੂਠੇ ਹੀ ਬੈਠਿ ਖਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
Joothee Karashhee Parosan Laagaa Joothae Hee Baith Khaaeiaa ||3||
जूठी करछी परोसन लागा जूठे ही बैठि खाइआ ॥३॥
Impure is the ladle which serves the food. Impure is the one who sits down to eat it. ||3||
ਗੋਬਰੁ ਜੂਠਾ ਚਉਕਾ ਜੂਠਾ ਜੂਠੀ ਦੀਨੀ ਕਾਰਾ ॥
Gobar Joothaa Choukaa Joothaa Joothee Dheenee Kaaraa ||
गोबरु जूठा चउका जूठा जूठी दीनी कारा ॥
Impure is the cow dung, and impure is the kitchen square. Impure are the lines that mark it off.

I ground up sandalwood, along with several fragrant oils.
ਪੂਜਨ ਚਾਲੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਠਾਇ ॥
Poojan Chaalee Breham Thaae ||
पूजन चाली ब्रहम ठाइ ॥
I went to God's place, and worshipped Him there.
ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬਤਾਇਓ ਗੁਰ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥

सो ब्रहमु बताइओ गुर मन ही माहि ॥१॥

Wherever I go, I find water and stones.

तू पूरि रहिओ है सभ समान ॥
You are totally pervading and permeating in all.

I have searched through all the Vedas and the Puraanas.
