Kaal Dhaith Sanghaarae Jam Pur Geae ||2||
कालि दैति संघारे जम पुरि गए ॥२॥
They are destroyed by Death's demons, and they must go to the City of Death. ||2||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥

गुरमुखि हरि हरि हरि लिव लागे ॥
The Gurmukhs are lovingly attached to the Lord, Har, Har, Har.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੋਊ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੇ ॥੩॥
Janam Maran Dhooo Dhukh Bhaagae ||3||
जनम मरण दोऊ दुख भागे ॥३॥
Their pains of both birth and death are taken away. ||3||
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
Bhagath Janaa Ko Har Kirapaa Dhhaaree ||
भगत जना कउ हरि किरपा धारी ॥
The Lord showers His Mercy on His humble devotees.

राम नामु रतन कोठड़ी गड़ मंदरि एक लुकानी ॥
The Lord's Name is a jewel, hidden in a chamber of the palace of the body-fortress.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਖੋਜੀਐ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
Sathigur Milai Th Khojeeai Mil Jothee Joth Samaanee ||1||
सतिगुरु मिलै त खोजीऐ मिलि जोती जोति समानी ॥१॥
When one meets the True Guru, then he searches and finds it, and his light merges with the Divine Light. ||1||

माधो साधू जन देहु मिलाइ ॥

देखत दरसु पाप सभि नासहि पवित्र परम पदु पाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all my sins are erased, and I obtain the supreme, sublime, sanctified status. ||1||Pause||
ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਨਗਰੀਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਹਿਰਿਆ ॥
Panch Chor Mil Laagae Nagareeaa Raam Naam Dhhan Hiriaa ||
पंच चोर मिलि लागे नगरीआ राम नाम धनु हिरिआ ॥
The five thieves join together and plunder the body-village, stealing the wealth of the Lord's Name.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਜ ਪਰੇ ਤਬ ਪਕਰੇ ਧਨੁ ਸਾਬਤੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਉਬਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
Guramath Khoj Parae Thab Pakarae Dhhan Saabath Raas Oubariaa ||2||
गुरमति खोज परे तब पकरे धनु साबतु रासि उबरिआ ॥२॥
But through the Guru's Teachings, they are traced and caught, and this wealth is recovered intact. ||2||
ਪਾਖੰਡ ਭਰਮ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
Paakhandd Bharam Oupaav Kar Thhaakae Ridh Anthar Maaeiaa Maaeiaa ||
पाखंड भरम उपाव करि थाके रिद अंतरि माइआ माइआ ॥
Practicing hypocrisy and superstition, people have grown weary of the effort, but still, deep within their hearts, they yearn for Maya, Maya.
ਸਾਧੂ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪੁਰਖਪਤਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
Saadhhoo Purakh Purakhapath Paaeiaa Agiaan Andhhaer Gavaaeiaa ||3||
साधू पुरखु पुरखपति पाइआ अगिआन अंधेरु गवाइआ ॥३॥
By the Grace of the Holy Person, I have met with the Lord, the Primal Being, and the darkness of ignorance is dispelled. ||3||
ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਾਧੁ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥
Jagannaathh Jagadhees Gusaaee Kar Kirapaa Saadhh Milaavai ||
जगंनाथ जगदीस गुसाई करि किरपा साधु मिलावै ॥
The Lord, the Lord of the Earth, the Lord of the Universe, in His Mercy, leads me to meet the Holy Person, the Guru.

Thumh Vadd Purakh Vadd Agam Gusaaee Ham Keerae Kiram Thumanashhae ||
तुम्ह वड पुरख वड अगम गुसाई हम कीरे किरम तुमनछे ॥
You are the Great Supreme Being, the Vast and Inaccessible Lord of the World; I am a mere insect, a worm created by You.

O Dear Lord of the Universe, please be merciful and unite me with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.

जनम जनम के किलविख मलु भरिआ मिलि संगति करि प्रभ हनछे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I was overflowing with the filthy sins of countless past lives. But joining the Sangat, God made me pure again. ||1||Pause||
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰਾ ਜਨੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਅਵਿਜਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵੀਛੇ ॥
Thumharaa Jan Jaath Avijaathaa Har Japiou Pathith Paveeshhae ||
तुम्हरा जनु जाति अविजाता हरि जपिओ पतित पवीछे ॥
Your humble servant, whether of high class or low class, O Lord - by meditating on You, the sinner becomes pure.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਓ ਸਗਲ ਭਵਨ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਿਨਛੇ ॥੨॥
Har Keeou Sagal Bhavan Thae Oopar Har Sobhaa Har Prabh Dhinashhae ||2||
हरि कीओ सगल भवन ते ऊपरि हरि सोभा हरि प्रभ दिनछे ॥२॥
The Lord exalts and elevates him above the whole world, and the Lord God blesses him with the Lord's Glory. ||2||
ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤਿ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਸਭਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਨਸ ਤਿਨਛੇ ॥
Jaath Ajaath Koee Prabh Dhhiaavai Sabh Poorae Maanas Thinashhae ||
जाति अजाति कोई प्रभ धिआवै सभि पूरे मानस तिनछे ॥
Anyone who meditates on God, whether of high class or low class, will have all of his hopes and desires fulfilled.
ਸੇ ਧੰਨਿ ਵਡੇ ਵਡ ਪੂਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਛੇ ॥੩॥
Sae Dhhann Vaddae Vadd Poorae Har Jan Jinh Har Dhhaariou Har Ourashhae ||3||
से धंनि वडे वड पूरे हरि जन जिन्ह हरि धारिओ हरि उरछे ॥३॥
Those humble servants of the Lord who enshrine the Lord within their hearts, are blessed, and are made great and totally perfect. ||3||
ਹਮ ਢੀਂਢੇ ਢੀਮ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਛੇ ॥
Ham Dteenadtae Dteem Bahuth Ath Bhaaree Har Dhhaar Kirapaa Prabh Milashhae ||
हम ढींढे ढीम बहुतु अति भारी हरि धारि क्रिपा प्रभ मिलछे ॥
I am so low, I am an utterly heavy lump of clay. Please shower Your Mercy on me, Lord, and unite me with Yourself.

मेरा इकु खिनु मनूआ रहि न सकै नित हरि हरि नाम रसि गीधे ॥
My mind cannot survive, even for an instant, without the Lord. I drink in continually the sublime essence of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਜਿਉ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਰਸਕਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਥਨਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਥਨਿ ਕਾਢੇ ਬਿਲਲ ਬਿਲੀਧੇ ॥੧॥
Jio Baarik Rasak Pariou Thhan Maathaa Thhan Kaadtae Bilal Bileedhhae ||1||
जिउ बारिकु रसकि परिओ थनि माता थनि काढे बिलल बिलीधे ॥१॥
It is like a baby, who joyfully sucks at his mother's breast; when the breast is withdrawn, he weeps and cries. ||1||
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਬੀਧੇ ॥
Gobindh Jeeo Maerae Man Than Naam Har Beedhhae ||
गोबिंद जीउ मेरे मन तन नाम हरि बीधे ॥
O Dear Lord of the Universe, my mind and body are pierced through by the Name of the Lord.
