Gur Oupadhaes Suniou Nehi Kaanan Par Dhaaraa Lapattaaeiou ||
गुर उपदेसु सुनिओ नहि काननि पर दारा लपटाइओ ॥
I never listened to the Guru's Teachings; I was entangled with others' spouses.
ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਨਿ ਬਹੁ ਧਾਵਤ ਸਮਝਿਓ ਨਹ ਸਮਝਾਇਓ ॥੧॥

पर निंदा कारनि बहु धावत समझिओ नह समझाइओ ॥१॥
I ran all around slandering others; I was taught, but I never learned. ||1||

ऐसी रवत रवहु मन मेरे हरि चरणी चितु लाई ॥
Follow such a path, O my conscious mind, that you may remain focused on the Feet of the Lord.
ਬਿਸਮ ਭਏ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਮਨੋਹਰ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੩॥
Bisam Bheae Gun Gaae Manohar Nirabho Sehaj Samaaee ||3||
बिसम भए गुण गाइ मनोहर निरभउ सहजि समाई ॥३॥
I am wonder-struck, singing the Glorious Praises of my Fascinating Lord; I am intuitively absorbed in the Fearless Lord. ||3||
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਧੁਨਿ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਘਟੈ ਨ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
Hiradhai Naam Sadhaa Dhhun Nihachal Ghattai N Keemath Paaee ||
हिरदै नामु सदा धुनि निहचल घटै न कीमति पाई ॥
That heart, in which the Eternal, Unchanging Naam vibrates and resounds, does not diminish, and cannot be evaluated.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਰਧਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੪॥
Bin Naavai Sabh Koee Niradhhan Sathigur Boojh Bujhaaee ||4||
बिनु नावै सभु कोई निरधनु सतिगुरि बूझ बुझाई ॥४॥
Without the Name, everyone is poor; the True Guru has imparted this understanding. ||4||
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਭਏ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਜਨੀ ਦੂਤ ਮੁਏ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਈ ॥
Preetham Praan Bheae Sun Sajanee Dhooth Mueae Bikh Khaaee ||
प्रीतम प्रान भए सुनि सजनी दूत मुए बिखु खाई ॥
My Beloved is my breath of life - listen, O my companion. The demons have taken poison and died.
ਜਬ ਕੀ ਉਪਜੀ ਤਬ ਕੀ ਤੈਸੀ ਰੰਗੁਲ ਭਈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈ ॥੫॥
Jab Kee Oupajee Thab Kee Thaisee Rangul Bhee Man Bhaaee ||5||
जब की उपजी तब की तैसी रंगुल भई मनि भाई ॥५॥
As love for Him welled up, so it remains. My mind is imbued with His Love. ||5||

Sehaj Samaadhh Sadhaa Liv Har Sio Jeevaan Har Gun Gaaee ||
सहज समाधि सदा लिव हरि सिउ जीवां हरि गुन गाई ॥
I am absorbed in celestial samaadhi, lovingly attached to the Lord forever. I live by singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਈ ॥੬॥
Gur Kai Sabadh Rathaa Bairaagee Nij Ghar Thaarree Laaee ||6||
गुर कै सबदि रता बैरागी निज घरि ताड़ी लाई ॥६॥
Imbued with the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I have become detached from the world. In the profound primal trance, I dwell within the home of my own inner being. ||6||
ਸੁਧ ਰਸ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਤਤੁ ਗੁਸਾਂਈਂ ॥
Sudhh Ras Naam Mehaa Ras Meethaa Nij Ghar Thath Gusaaneen ||
सुध रस नामु महा रसु मीठा निज घरि ततु गुसांईं ॥
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is sublimely sweet and supremely delicious; within the home of my own self, I understand the essence of the Lord.
ਤਹ ਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਜਹ ਹੀ ਤੈ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਐਸੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੭॥
Theh Hee Man Jeh Hee Thai Raakhiaa Aisee Guramath Paaee ||7||
तह ही मनु जह ही तै राखिआ ऐसी गुरमति पाई ॥७॥
Wherever You keep my mind, there it is. This is what the Guru has taught me. ||7||

Sanak Sanaadh Brehamaadh Eindhraadhik Bhagath Rathae Ban Aaee ||
सनक सनादि ब्रहमादि इंद्रादिक भगति रते बनि आई ॥
Sanak and Sanandan, Brahma and Indra, were imbued with devotional worship, and came to be in harmony with Him.

कोटि कलप के दूख बिनासन साचु द्रिड़ाइ निबेरा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The guilt and sin of millions of ages is erased, and one is released from the cycle of reincarnation, when the Truth is implanted within. ||1||Pause||
ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਜਲੇ ਹਉ ਮਮਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਉ ਰੰਗੀ ॥
Krodhh Nivaar Jalae Ho Mamathaa Praem Sadhaa No Rangee ||
क्रोधु निवारि जले हउ ममता प्रेमु सदा नउ रंगी ॥
Anger is gone, egotism and attachment have been burnt away; I am imbued with His ever-fresh Love.
ਅਨਭਉ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਗਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਚਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਾਇਲੁ ਸੰਗੀ ॥੧॥

अनभउ बिसरि गए प्रभु जाचिआ हरि निरमाइलु संगी ॥१॥
Other fears are forgotten, begging at God's Door. The Immaculate Lord is my Companion. ||1||
ਚੰਚਲ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਏਕ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
Chanchal Math Thiaag Bho Bhanjan Paaeiaa Eaek Sabadh Liv Laagee ||
चंचल मति तिआगि भउ भंजनु पाइआ एक सबदि लिव लागी ॥
Forsaking my fickle intellect, I have found God, the Destroyer of fear; I am lovingly attuned to the One Word, the Shabad.
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥੨॥

हरि रसु चाखि त्रिखा निवारी हरि मेलि लए बडभागी ॥२॥
Tasting the sublime essence of the Lord, my thirst is quenched; by great good fortune, the Lord has united me with Himself. ||2||
ਅਭਰਤ ਸਿੰਚਿ ਭਏ ਸੁਭਰ ਸਰ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ॥

अभरत सिंचि भए सुभर सर गुरमति साचु निहाला ॥
