The True Guru is the True Giver.
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਸਗਲ ਦੁਖ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

दरसनु देखि सगल दुख नासहि चरन कमल बलिहारा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

सति परमेसरु सति साध जन निहचलु हरि का नाउ ॥
The Supreme Lord God is True, and True are the Holy Saints; the Name of the Lord is steady and stable.
ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਵਨੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥
Bhagath Bhaavanee Paarabreham Kee Abinaasee Gun Gaao ||1||
भगति भावनी पारब्रहम की अबिनासी गुण गाउ ॥१॥
So worship the Imperishable, Supreme Lord God with love, and sing His Glorious Praises. ||1||
ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
Agam Agochar Mith Nehee Paaeeai Sagal Ghattaa Aadhhaar ||
अगमु अगोचरु मिति नही पाईऐ सगल घटा आधारु ॥
The limits of the Inaccessible, Unfathomable Lord cannot be found; He is the Support of all hearts.

पूरि रहिओ ठाकुरु सभ थाई निकटि बसै सभ नेरै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
My Lord and Master is permeating and pervading all places; He dwells nearby, close to all. ||1||Pause||

Bandhhan Thor Raam Liv Laaee Santhasang Ban Aaee ||
बंधन तोरि राम लिव लाई संतसंगि बनि आई ॥
Breaking my bonds, I have lovingly tuned in to the Lord, and now the Saints are pleased with me.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਭਇਓ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ਇਛਾ ਸਗਲ ਪੁਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
Janam Padhaarathh Bhaeiou Puneethaa Eishhaa Sagal Pujaaee ||1||
जनमु पदारथु भइओ पुनीता इछा सगल पुजाई ॥१॥
This precious human life has been sanctified, and all my desires have been fulfilled. ||1||

जा कउ क्रिपा करहु प्रभ मेरे सो हरि का जसु गावै ॥
O my God, whoever You bless with Your Mercy - he alone sings Your Glorious Praises.

आठ पहर गोबिंद गुन गावै जनु नानकु सद बलि जावै ॥२॥६४॥८७॥
Servant Nanak is a sacrifice to that person who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, twenty-four hours a day. ||2||64||87||

Kehath Sunath Kishh Saanth N Oupajath Bin Bisaas Kiaa Saekhaan ||
कहत सुनत किछु सांति न उपजत बिनु बिसास किआ सेखां ॥
By speaking and listening, tranquility and peace are not found at all. What can anyone learn without faith?

Prabhoo Thiaag Aan Jo Chaahath Thaa Kai Mukh Laagai Kaalaekhaa ||1||
प्रभू तिआगि आन जो चाहत ता कै मुखि लागै कालेखा ॥१॥
One who renounces God and longs for another - his face is blackened with filth. ||1||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਾਸਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਨ ਨ ਮਾਨਤ ਭੇਖਾ ॥
Jaa Kai Raas Sarab Sukh Suaamee Aan N Maanath Bhaekhaa ||
जा कै रासि सरब सुख सुआमी आन न मानत भेखा ॥
One who is blessed with the wealth of our Lord and Master, the Embodiment of Peace, does not believe in any other religious doctrine.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸ ਮਗਨ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਪੂਰਨ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਸੇਖਾ ॥੨॥੬੫॥੮੮॥
Naanak Dharas Magan Man Mohiou Pooran Arathh Bisaekhaa ||2||65||88||
नानक दरस मगन मनु मोहिओ पूरन अरथ बिसेखा ॥२॥६५॥८८॥
O Nanak, one whose mind is fascinated and intoxicated with the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan - his tasks are perfectly accomplished. ||2||65||88||

ਕਲਮਲ ਦਗਧ ਹੋਹਿ ਖਿਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਦਾਨ ਇਸਨਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Kalamal Dhagadhh Hohi Khin Anthar Kott Dhaan Eisanaan ||1|| Rehaao ||
कलमल दगध होहि खिन अंतरि कोटि दान इसनान ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
In this way, the sins of your past mistakes shall be burnt off in an instant. It is like giving millions in charity, and bathing at sacred shrines of pilgrimage. ||1||Pause||
ਆਨ ਜੰਜਾਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਘਾਲਤ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਫੋਕਟ ਗਿਆਨ ॥
Aan Janjaar Brithhaa Sram Ghaalath Bin Har Fokatt Giaan ||
आन जंजार ब्रिथा स्रमु घालत बिनु हरि फोकट गिआन ॥
Entangled in other affairs, the mortal suffers uselessly in sorrow. Without the Lord, wisdom is useless.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਸੰਕਟ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੈ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਭਜਨ ਸੁਖ ਧਿਆਨ ॥੧॥
Janam Maran Sankatt Thae Shhoottai Jagadhees Bhajan Sukh Dhhiaan ||1||
जनम मरन संकट ते छूटै जगदीस भजन सुख धिआन ॥१॥
The mortal is freed of the anguish of death and birth, meditating and vibrating on the Blissful Lord of the Universe. ||1||
ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਾਨ ॥
Thaeree Saran Pooran Sukh Saagar Kar Kirapaa Dhaevahu Dhaan ||
तेरी सरनि पूरन सुख सागर करि किरपा देवहु दान ॥
I seek Your Sancutary, O Perfect Lord, Ocean of Peace. Please be merciful, and bless me with this gift.

Meditating, meditating in remembrance on God, Nanak lives; his egotistical pride has been eradicated. ||2||66||89||

He alone is a Dhoorat, who is attached to the Primal Lord God.
ਸੋਈ ਧੁਰੰਧਰੁ ਸੋਈ ਬਸੁੰਧਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਏਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਪਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Soee Dhhurandhhar Soee Basundhhar Har Eaek Praem Ras Paagai ||1|| Rehaao ||
सोई धुरंधरु सोई बसुंधरु हरि एक प्रेम रस पागै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
He alone is a Dhurandhar, and he alone is a Basundhar, who is absorbed in the sublime essence of Love of the One Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਬਲਬੰਚ ਕਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਲਾਭੈ ਸੋ ਧੂਰਤੁ ਨਹੀ ਮੂੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥
Balabanch Karai N Jaanai Laabhai So Dhhoorath Nehee Moorrhaa ||
बलबंच करै न जानै लाभै सो धूरतु नही मूड़्हा ॥
One who practices deception and does not know where true profit lies is not a Dhoorat - he is a fool.
ਸੁਆਰਥੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਅਸਾਰਥਿ ਰਚਿਓ ਨਹ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰੂੜਾ ॥੧॥
Suaarathh Thiaag Asaarathh Rachiou Neh Simarai Prabh Roorraa ||1||
सुआरथु तिआगि असारथि रचिओ नह सिमरै प्रभु रूड़ा ॥१॥
He abandons profitable enterprises and is involved in unprofitable ones. He does not meditate on the Beauteous Lord God. ||1||
ਸੋਈ ਚਤੁਰੁ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਪੰਡਿਤੁ ਸੋ ਸੂਰਾ ਸੋ ਦਾਨਾਂ ॥
Soee Chathur Siaanaa Panddith So Sooraa So Dhaanaan ||
सोई चतुरु सिआणा पंडितु सो सूरा सो दानां ॥
He alone is clever and wise and a religious scholar, he alone is a brave warrior, and he alone is intelligent,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥੨॥੬੭॥੯੦॥

साधसंगि जिनि हरि हरि जपिओ नानक सो परवाना ॥२॥६७॥९०॥
Who chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. O Nanak, he alone is approved. ||2||67||90||
