I serve the Guru, and humbly bow to Him.

Today is a day of celebration for me.

आजु हमारै महा अनंद ॥
Today I am in supreme bliss.

My anxiety is dispelled, and I have met the Lord of the Universe. ||1||

Today, it is springtime in my household.

आजु हमारै बने फाग ॥
Today, I am celebrating the festival of Phalgun.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਖੇਲਨ ਲਾਗ ॥
Prabh Sangee Mil Khaelan Laag ||
प्रभ संगी मिलि खेलन लाग ॥
Joining with God's companions, I have begun to play.
ਹੋਲੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਸੰਤ ਸੇਵ ॥
Holee Keenee Santh Saev ||
होली कीनी संत सेव ॥
I celebrate the festival of Holi by serving the Saints.
ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਅਤਿ ਲਾਲ ਦੇਵ ॥੨॥
Rang Laagaa Ath Laal Dhaev ||2||
रंगु लागा अति लाल देव ॥२॥
I am imbued with the deep crimson color of the Lord's Divine Love. ||2||
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਓ ਅਤਿ ਅਨੂਪ ॥
Man Than Mouliou Ath Anoop ||
मनु तनु मउलिओ अति अनूप ॥
My mind and body have blossomed forth, in utter, incomparable beauty.
ਸੂਕੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਛਾਵ ਧੂਪ ॥
Sookai Naahee Shhaav Dhhoop ||
सूकै नाही छाव धूप ॥
They do not dry out in either sunshine or shade;
ਸਗਲੀ ਰੂਤੀ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਇ ॥
Sagalee Roothee Hariaa Hoe ||
सगली रूती हरिआ होइ ॥
They flourish in all seasons.
ਸਦ ਬਸੰਤ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਦੇਵ ॥੩॥
Sadh Basanth Gur Milae Dhaev ||3||
सद बसंत गुर मिले देव ॥३॥
It is always springtime, when I meet with the Divine Guru. ||3||
ਬਿਰਖੁ ਜਮਿਓ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਜਾਤ ॥
Birakh Jamiou Hai Paarajaath ||
बिरखु जमिओ है पारजात ॥
The wish-fulfilling Elysian Tree has sprouted and grown.
ਫੂਲ ਲਗੇ ਫਲ ਰਤਨ ਭਾਂਤਿ ॥
Fool Lagae Fal Rathan Bhaanth ||
फूल लगे फल रतन भांति ॥
It bears flowers and fruits, jewels of all sorts.
ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣਹ ਗਾਇ ॥
Thripath Aghaanae Har Guneh Gaae ||
त्रिपति अघाने हरि गुणह गाइ ॥
I am satisfied and fulfilled, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਹਟਵਾਣੀ ਧਨ ਮਾਲ ਹਾਟੁ ਕੀਤੁ ॥
Hattavaanee Dhhan Maal Haatt Keeth ||
हटवाणी धन माल हाटु कीतु ॥
The shopkeeper deals in merchandise for profit.
ਜੂਆਰੀ ਜੂਏ ਮਾਹਿ ਚੀਤੁ ॥
Jooaaree Jooeae Maahi Cheeth ||
जूआरी जूए माहि चीतु ॥
The gambler's consciousness is focused on gambling.
ਅਮਲੀ ਜੀਵੈ ਅਮਲੁ ਖਾਇ ॥
Amalee Jeevai Amal Khaae ||
अमली जीवै अमलु खाइ ॥
The opium addict lives by consuming opium.
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥
Thio Har Jan Jeevai Har Dhhiaae ||1||
तिउ हरि जनु जीवै हरि धिआइ ॥१॥
In the same way, the humble servant of the Lord lives by meditating on the Lord. ||1||
ਅਪਨੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਰਚੈ ॥
Apanai Rang Sabh Ko Rachai ||
अपनै रंगि सभु को रचै ॥
Everyone is absorbed in his own pleasures.
ਜਿਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

जितु प्रभि लाइआ तितु तितु लगै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
He is attached to whatever God attaches him to. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਘ ਸਮੈ ਮੋਰ ਨਿਰਤਿਕਾਰ ॥
Maegh Samai Mor Nirathikaar ||
मेघ समै मोर निरतिकार ॥
When the clouds and the rain come, the peacocks dance.
ਚੰਦ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਿਗਸਹਿ ਕਉਲਾਰ ॥
Chandh Dhaekh Bigasehi Koulaar ||
चंद देखि बिगसहि कउलार ॥
Seeing the moon, the lotus blossoms.
ਮਾਤਾ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਦੇਖਿ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
Maathaa Baarik Dhaekh Anandh ||
माता बारिक देखि अनंद ॥
When the mother sees her infant, she is happy.
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਜਪਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥੨॥
Thio Har Jan Jeevehi Jap Gobindh ||2||
तिउ हरि जन जीवहि जपि गोबिंद ॥२॥
In the same way, the humble servant of the Lord lives by meditating on the Lord of the Universe. ||2||
ਸਿੰਘ ਰੁਚੈ ਸਦ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਮਾਸ ॥
Singh Ruchai Sadh Bhojan Maas ||
सिंघ रुचै सद भोजनु मास ॥
The tiger always wants to eat meat.
ਰਣੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੂਰੇ ਚਿਤ ਉਲਾਸ ॥
Ran Dhaekh Soorae Chith Oulaas ||
रणु देखि सूरे चित उलास ॥
Gazing upon the battlefield, the warrior's mind is exalted.
ਕਿਰਪਨ ਕਉ ਅਤਿ ਧਨ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
Kirapan Ko Ath Dhhan Piaar ||
किरपन कउ अति धन पिआरु ॥
The miser is totally in love with his wealth.
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
Har Jan Ko Har Har Aadhhaar ||3||
हरि जन कउ हरि हरि आधारु ॥३॥
The humble servant of the Lord leans on the Support of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਸਰਬ ਰੰਗ ਇਕ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
Sarab Rang Eik Rang Maahi ||
सरब रंग इक रंग माहि ॥
All love is contained in the Love of the One Lord.
ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਸੁਖ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਇ ॥
Sarab Sukhaa Sukh Har Kai Naae ||
सरब सुखा सुख हरि कै नाइ ॥
All comforts are contained in the Comfort of the Lord's Name.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਇਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
Thisehi Paraapath Eihu Nidhhaan ||
तिसहि परापति इहु निधानु ॥
He alone receives this treasure,
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਰੇ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੨॥
Naanak Gur Jis Karae Dhaan ||4||2||
नानक गुरु जिसु करे दानु ॥४॥२॥
O Nanak, unto whom the Guru gives His gift. ||4||2||

ਤਿਸੁ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ॥
This Basanth Jis Prabh Kirapaal ||
तिसु बसंतु जिसु प्रभु क्रिपालु ॥
He alone experiences this springtime of the soul, unto whom God grants His Grace.
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥
This Basanth Jis Gur Dhaeiaal ||
तिसु बसंतु जिसु गुरु दइआलु ॥
He alone experiences this springtime of the soul, unto whom the Guru is merciful.
ਮੰਗਲੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਏਕੁ ਕਾਮੁ ॥
Mangal This Kai Jis Eaek Kaam ||
मंगलु तिस कै जिसु एकु कामु ॥
He alone is joyful, who works for the One Lord.
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
This Sadh Basanth Jis Ridhai Naam ||1||
तिसु सद बसंतु जिसु रिदै नामु ॥१॥
He alone experiences this eternal springtime of the soul, within whose heart the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides. ||1||
ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਗਨੀ ॥
Grihi Thaa Kae Basanth Ganee ||
ग्रिहि ता के बसंतु गनी ॥
This spring comes only to those homes,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਧੁਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jaa Kai Keerathan Har Dhhunee ||1|| Rehaao ||
जा कै कीरतनु हरि धुनी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
In which the melody of the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises resounds. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਉਲਿ ਮਨਾ ॥
Preeth Paarabreham Moul Manaa ||
प्रीति पारब्रहम मउलि मना ॥
O mortal, let your love for the Supreme Lord God blossom forth.
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਕਮਾਈਐ ਪੂਛਿ ਜਨਾਂ ॥
Giaan Kamaaeeai Pooshh Janaan ||
गिआनु कमाईऐ पूछि जनां ॥
Practice spiritual wisdom, and consult the humble servants of the Lord.
ਸੋ ਤਪਸੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ॥
So Thapasee Jis Saadhhasang ||
सो तपसी जिसु साधसंगु ॥
He alone is an ascetic, who joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਸਦ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੨॥
Sadh Dhhiaanee Jis Gurehi Rang ||2||
सद धिआनी जिसु गुरहि रंगु ॥२॥
He alone dwells in deep, continual meditation, who loves his Guru. ||2||
ਸੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਭਉ ਪਇਆ ॥
Sae Nirabho Jinh Bho Paeiaa ||
से निरभउ जिन्ह भउ पइआ ॥
He alone is fearless, who has the Fear of God.
ਸੋ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ॥
So Sukheeaa Jis Bhram Gaeiaa ||
सो सुखीआ जिसु भ्रमु गइआ ॥
He alone is peaceful, whose doubts are dispelled.
ਸੋ ਇਕਾਂਤੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦਾ ਥਾਇ ॥
So Eikaanthee Jis Ridhaa Thhaae ||
सो इकांती जिसु रिदा थाइ ॥
He alone is a hermit, who heart is steady and stable.
ਸੋਈ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸਾਚ ਠਾਇ ॥੩॥
Soee Nihachal Saach Thaae ||3||
सोई निहचलु साच ठाइ ॥३॥
He alone is steady and unmoving, who has found the true place. ||3||
ਏਕਾ ਖੋਜੈ ਏਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
Eaekaa Khojai Eaek Preeth ||
एका खोजै एक प्रीति ॥
He seeks the One Lord, and loves the One Lord.
ਦਰਸਨ ਪਰਸਨ ਹੀਤ ਚੀਤਿ ॥
Dharasan Parasan Heeth Cheeth ||
दरसन परसन हीत चीति ॥
He loves to gaze upon the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.
ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਾਣੁ ॥
Har Rang Rangaa Sehaj Maan ||
हरि रंग रंगा सहजि माणु ॥
He intuitively enjoys the Love of the Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੩॥
Naanak Dhaas This Jan Kurabaan ||4||3||
नानक दास तिसु जन कुरबाणु ॥४॥३॥
Slave Nanak is a sacrifice to that humble being. ||4||3||
