हरि नामु हिरदै पवित्रु पावनु इहु सरीरु तउ सरणी ॥७॥
The Name of the Lord, the most pure and sacred, is within my heart; this body is Your Sanctuary, Lord. ||7||
ਲਬ ਲੋਭ ਲਹਰਿ ਨਿਵਾਰਣੰ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਸਿ ਮਨੰ ॥
Lab Lobh Lehar Nivaaranan Har Naam Raas Manan ||
लब लोभ लहरि निवारणं हरि नाम रासि मनं ॥
The waves of greed and avarice are subdued, by treasuring the Lord's Name in the mind.
ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਤੁਹੀ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਾ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਰਨੰ ॥੮॥੧॥੫॥

ਨਿਰਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਨਚਾਈ ॥
Nirath Karee Eihu Man Nachaaee ||
निरति करी इहु मनु नचाई ॥
I dance, and make this mind dance as well.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥
Gur Parasaadhee Aap Gavaaee ||
गुर परसादी आपु गवाई ॥
By Guru's Grace, I eliminate my self-conceit.
ਚਿਤੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੋ ਇਛੀ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
Chith Thhir Raakhai So Mukath Hovai Jo Eishhee Soee Fal Paaee ||1||
चितु थिरु राखै सो मुकति होवै जो इछी सोई फलु पाई ॥१॥
One who keeps his consciousness focused on the Lord is liberated; he obtains the fruits of his desires. ||1||
ਨਾਚੁ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਆਗੈ ॥
Naach Rae Man Gur Kai Aagai ||
नाचु रे मन गुर कै आगै ॥
So dance, O mind, before your Guru.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਨਾਚਹਿ ਤਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਅੰਤੇ ਜਮ ਭਉ ਭਾਗੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gur Kai Bhaanai Naachehi Thaa Sukh Paavehi Anthae Jam Bho Bhaagai || Rehaao ||
गुर कै भाणै नाचहि ता सुखु पावहि अंते जम भउ भागै ॥ रहाउ ॥
If you dance according to the Guru's Will, you shall obtain peace, and in the end, the fear of death shall leave you. ||Pause||
ਆਪਿ ਨਚਾਏ ਸੋ ਭਗਤੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਲਾਏ ॥
Aap Nachaaeae So Bhagath Keheeai Aapanaa Piaar Aap Laaeae ||
आपि नचाए सो भगतु कहीऐ आपणा पिआरु आपि लाए ॥
One whom the Lord Himself causes to dance, is called a devotee. He Himself links us to His Love.
ਆਪੇ ਗਾਵੈ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਅੰਧੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥
Aapae Gaavai Aap Sunaavai Eis Man Andhhae Ko Maarag Paaeae ||2||
आपे गावै आपि सुणावै इसु मन अंधे कउ मारगि पाए ॥२॥
He Himself sings, He Himself listens, and He puts this blind mind on the right path. ||2||
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਚੈ ਸਕਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ਸਿਵ ਘਰਿ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
Anadhin Naachai Sakath Nivaarai Siv Ghar Needh N Hoee ||
अनदिनु नाचै सकति निवारै सिव घरि नीद न होई ॥
One who dances night and day, and banishes Shakti's Maya, enters the House of the Lord Shiva, where there is no sleep.
ਸਕਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਸੂਤਾ ਨਾਚੈ ਟਾਪੈ ਅਵਰੋ ਗਾਵੈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥
Sakathee Ghar Jagath Soothaa Naachai Ttaapai Avaro Gaavai Manamukh Bhagath N Hoee ||3||
सकती घरि जगतु सूता नाचै टापै अवरो गावै मनमुखि भगति न होई ॥३॥
The world is asleep in Maya, the house of Shakti; it dances, jumps and sings in duality. The self-willed manmukh has no devotion. ||3||
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਵਿਰਤਿ ਪਖਿ ਕਰਮੀ ਨਾਚੇ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
Sur Nar Virath Pakh Karamee Naachae Mun Jan Giaan Beechaaree ||
सुरि नर विरति पखि करमी नाचे मुनि जन गिआन बीचारी ॥
The angels, mortals, renunciates, ritualists, silent sages and beings of spiritual wisdom dance.
ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਨਾਚੇ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
Sidhh Saadhhik Liv Laagee Naachae Jin Guramukh Budhh Veechaaree ||4||
सिध साधिक लिव लागी नाचे जिन गुरमुखि बुधि वीचारी ॥४॥
The Siddhas and seekers, lovingly focused on the Lord, dance, as do the Gurmukhs, whose minds dwell in reflective meditation. ||4||
ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਚੇ ਜਿਨ ਲਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
Khandd Brehamandd Thrai Gun Naachae Jin Laagee Har Liv Thumaaree ||
खंड ब्रहमंड त्रै गुण नाचे जिन लागी हरि लिव तुमारी ॥
The planets and solar systems dance in the three qualities, as do those who bear love for You, Lord.
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਚੇ ਨਾਚਹਿ ਖਾਣੀ ਚਾਰੀ ॥੫॥
Jeea Janth Sabhae Hee Naachae Naachehi Khaanee Chaaree ||5||
जीअ जंत सभे ही नाचे नाचहि खाणी चारी ॥५॥
The beings and creatures all dance, and the four sources of creation dance. ||5||
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਸੇਈ ਨਾਚਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥
Jo Thudhh Bhaavehi Saeee Naachehi Jin Guramukh Sabadh Liv Laaeae ||
जो तुधु भावहि सेई नाचहि जिन गुरमुखि सबदि लिव लाए ॥
They alone dance, who are pleasing to You, and who, as Gurmukhs, embrace love for the Word of the Shabad.
ਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੇ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਨਾਏ ॥੬॥
Sae Bhagath Sae Thath Giaanee Jin Ko Hukam Manaaeae ||6||
से भगत से ततु गिआनी जिन कउ हुकमु मनाए ॥६॥
They are devotees, with the essence of spiritual wisdom, who obey the Hukam of His Command. ||6||
ਏਹਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
Eaehaa Bhagath Sachae Sio Liv Laagai Bin Saevaa Bhagath N Hoee ||
एहा भगति सचे सिउ लिव लागै बिनु सेवा भगति न होई ॥
This is devotional worship, that one loves the True Lord; without service, one cannot be a devotee.
ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਤਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ਤਾ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੭॥
Jeevath Marai Thaa Sabadh Beechaarai Thaa Sach Paavai Koee ||7||
जीवतु मरै ता सबदु बीचारै ता सचु पावै कोई ॥७॥
If one remains dead while yet alive, he reflects upon the Shabad, and then, he obtains the True Lord. ||7||
ਮਾਇਆ ਕੈ ਅਰਥਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਚੇ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
Maaeiaa Kai Arathh Bahuth Lok Naachae Ko Viralaa Thath Beechaaree ||
माइआ कै अरथि बहुतु लोक नाचे को विरला ततु बीचारी ॥
So many people dance for the sake of Maya; how rare are those who contemplate reality.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੮॥
Gur Parasaadhee Soee Jan Paaeae Jin Ko Kirapaa Thumaaree ||8||
गुर परसादी सोई जनु पाए जिन कउ क्रिपा तुमारी ॥८॥
By Guru's Grace, that humble being obtains You, Lord, upon whom You show Mercy. ||8||
ਇਕੁ ਦਮੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਸਾ ਵੇਲਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
Eik Dham Saachaa Veesarai Saa Vaelaa Birathhaa Jaae ||
इकु दमु साचा वीसरै सा वेला बिरथा जाइ ॥
If I forget the True Lord, even for an instant, that time passes in vain.
ਸਾਹਿ ਸਾਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਲੀਐ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਕਰੇ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੯॥
Saahi Saahi Sadhaa Samaaleeai Aapae Bakhasae Karae Rajaae ||9||
साहि साहि सदा समालीऐ आपे बखसे करे रजाइ ॥९॥
With each and every breath, constantly remember the Lord; He Himself shall forgive you, according to His Will. ||9||
ਸੇਈ ਨਾਚਹਿ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
Saeee Naachehi Jo Thudhh Bhaavehi J Guramukh Sabadh Veechaaree ||
सेई नाचहि जो तुधु भावहि जि गुरमुखि सबदु वीचारी ॥

Without the Lord, my soul cannot survive, like an infant without milk.
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
Agam Agochar Prabh Guramukh Paaeeai Apunae Sathigur Kai Balihaaree ||1||
अगम अगोचर प्रभु गुरमुखि पाईऐ अपुने सतिगुर कै बलिहारी ॥१॥
The inaccessible and incomprehensible Lord God is obtained by the Gurmukh; I am a sacrifice to my True Guru. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਤਰੁ ਤਾਰੀ ॥
Man Rae Har Keerath Thar Thaaree ||
मन रे हरि कीरति तरु तारी ॥
O my mind, the Kirtan of the Lord's Praise is a boat to carry you across.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Guramukh Naam Anmrith Jal Paaeeai Jin Ko Kirapaa Thumaaree || Rehaao ||
गुरमुखि नामु अम्रित जलु पाईऐ जिन कउ क्रिपा तुमारी ॥ रहाउ ॥
The Gurmukhs obtain the Ambrosial Water of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. You bless them with Your Grace. ||Pause||
