Fifth Mehl:
ਜਿਮੀ ਵਸੰਦੀ ਪਾਣੀਐ ਈਧਣੁ ਰਖੈ ਭਾਹਿ ॥
Jimee Vasandhee Paaneeai Eedhhan Rakhai Bhaahi ||
जिमी वसंदी पाणीऐ ईधणु रखै भाहि ॥
The earth is in the water, and the fire is contained in the wood.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਸਹੁ ਆਹਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਆਢਲਿ ਹਭੁ ਕੋ ॥੨॥
Naanak So Sahu Aahi Jaa Kai Aadtal Habh Ko ||2||
नानक सो सहु आहि जा कै आढलि हभु को ॥२॥
O Nanak, yearn for that Lord, who is the Support of all. ||2||

ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਤੁਧੈ ਹੀ ਗੋਚਰੇ ॥
Thaerae Keethae Kanm Thudhhai Hee Gocharae ||
तेरे कीते कम तुधै ही गोचरे ॥
The works which You have done, O Lord, could only have been performed by You.
ਸੋਈ ਵਰਤੈ ਜਗਿ ਜਿ ਕੀਆ ਤੁਧੁ ਧੁਰੇ ॥
Soee Varathai Jag J Keeaa Thudhh Dhhurae ||
सोई वरतै जगि जि कीआ तुधु धुरे ॥
That alone happens in the world, which You, O Master, have done.
ਬਿਸਮੁ ਭਏ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਤੇਰੀਆ ॥
Bisam Bheae Bisamaadh Dhaekh Kudharath Thaereeaa ||
बिसमु भए बिसमाद देखि कुदरति तेरीआ ॥
I am wonderstruck beholding the wonder of Your Almighty Creative Power.
ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਾਸ ਕਰਿ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਮੇਰੀਆ ॥
Saran Parae Thaeree Dhaas Kar Gath Hoe Maereeaa ||
सरणि परे तेरी दास करि गति होइ मेरीआ ॥
I seek Your Sanctuary - I am Your slave; if it is Your Will, I shall be emancipated.
ਤੇਰੈ ਹਥਿ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਹਿ ॥
Thaerai Hathh Nidhhaan Bhaavai This Dhaehi ||
तेरै हथि निधानु भावै तिसु देहि ॥
The treasure is in Your Hands; according to Your Will, You bestow it.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੇਇ ਲੇਹਿ ॥
Jis No Hoe Dhaeiaal Har Naam Saee Laehi ||
जिस नो होइ दइआलु हरि नामु सेइ लेहि ॥
One, upon whom You have bestowed Your Mercy, is blessed with the Lord's Name.
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Agam Agochar Baeanth Anth N Paaeeai ||
अगम अगोचर बेअंत अंतु न पाईऐ ॥
You are unapproachable, unfathomable and infinite; Your limits cannot be found.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹੋਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧੧॥
Jis No Hohi Kirapaal S Naam Dhhiaaeeai ||11||
जिस नो होहि क्रिपालु सु नामु धिआईऐ ॥११॥
One, unto whom You have been compassionate, meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||11||

ਕੜਛੀਆ ਫਿਰੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਸੁਆਉ ਨ ਜਾਣਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਸੁਞੀਆ ॥
Karrashheeaa Firannih Suaao N Jaananih Sunjeeaa ||
कड़छीआ फिरंन्हि सुआउ न जाणन्हि सुञीआ ॥
The ladles cruise through the food, but they do not know the taste of it.
ਸੇਈ ਮੁਖ ਦਿਸੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸਿ ॥੧॥
Saeee Mukh Dhisannih Naanak Rathae Praem Ras ||1||
सेई मुख दिसंन्हि नानक रते प्रेम रसि ॥१॥
I long to see the faces of those, O Nanak, who are imbued with the essence of the Lord's Love. ||1||

Fifth Mehl:
ਖੋਜੀ ਲਧਮੁ ਖੋਜੁ ਛਡੀਆ ਉਜਾੜਿ ॥
Khojee Ladhham Khoj Shhaddeeaa Oujaarr ||
खोजी लधमु खोजु छडीआ उजाड़ि ॥
Through the Tracker, I discovered the tracks of those who ruined my crops.
ਤੈ ਸਹਿ ਦਿਤੀ ਵਾੜਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਖੇਤੁ ਨ ਛਿਜਈ ॥੨॥
Thai Sehi Dhithee Vaarr Naanak Khaeth N Shhijee ||2||
तै सहि दिती वाड़ि नानक खेतु न छिजई ॥२॥
You, O Lord, have put up the fence; O Nanak, my fields shall not be plundered again. ||2||

ਆਰਾਧਿਹੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
Aaraadhhihu Sachaa Soe Sabh Kishh Jis Paas ||
आराधिहु सचा सोइ सभु किछु जिसु पासि ॥
Worship in adoration that True Lord; everything is under His Power.
ਦੁਹਾ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਖਸਮੁ ਆਪਿ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਰੇ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
Dhuhaa Siriaa Khasam Aap Khin Mehi Karae Raas ||
दुहा सिरिआ खसमु आपि खिन महि करे रासि ॥
He Himself is the Master of both ends; in an instant, He adjusts our affairs.
ਤਿਆਗਹੁ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਵ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਗਹੁ ॥
Thiaagahu Sagal Oupaav This Kee Outt Gahu ||
तिआगहु सगल उपाव तिस की ओट गहु ॥
Renounce all your efforts, and hold fast to His Support.
ਪਉ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਜਿ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਲਹੁ ॥
Po Saranaaee Bhaj Sukhee Hoon Sukh Lahu ||
पउ सरणाई भजि सुखी हूं सुख लहु ॥
Run to His Sanctuary, and you shall obtain the comfort of all comforts.
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
Karam Dhharam Thath Giaan Santhaa Sang Hoe ||
करम धरम ततु गिआनु संता संगु होइ ॥
The karma of good deeds, the righteousness of Dharma and the essence of spiritual wisdom are obtained in the Society of the Saints.
ਜਪੀਐ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
Japeeai Anmrith Naam Bighan N Lagai Koe ||
जपीऐ अम्रित नामु बिघनु न लगै कोइ ॥
Chanting the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, no obstacle shall block your way.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਿਆ ॥
Jis No Aap Dhaeiaal This Man Vuthiaa ||
जिस नो आपि दइआलु तिसु मनि वुठिआ ॥
The Lord abides in the mind of one who is blessed by His Kindness.
ਪਾਈਅਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸਾਹਿਬਿ ਤੁਠਿਆ ॥੧੨॥
Paaeeanih Sabh Nidhhaan Saahib Thuthiaa ||12||
पाईअन्हि सभि निधान साहिबि तुठिआ ॥१२॥
All treasures are obtained, when the Lord and Master is pleased. ||12||

ਲਧਮੁ ਲਭਣਹਾਰੁ ਕਰਮੁ ਕਰੰਦੋ ਮਾ ਪਿਰੀ ॥
Ladhham Labhanehaar Karam Karandho Maa Piree ||
लधमु लभणहारु करमु करंदो मा पिरी ॥
I have found the object of my search - my Beloved took pity on me.
ਇਕੋ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਆ ਨ ਪਸੀਐ ॥੧॥
Eiko Sirajanehaar Naanak Biaa N Paseeai ||1||
इको सिरजणहारु नानक बिआ न पसीऐ ॥१॥
There is One Creator; O Nanak, I do not see any other. ||1||

ਪਾਪੜਿਆ ਪਛਾੜਿ ਬਾਣੁ ਸਚਾਵਾ ਸੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਕੈ ॥
Paaparriaa Pashhaarr Baan Sachaavaa Sannih Kai ||
पापड़िआ पछाड़ि बाणु सचावा संन्हि कै ॥
Take aim with the arrow of Truth, and shoot down sin.
ਗੁਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੜਾ ਚਿਤਾਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਥੀਵਈ ॥੨॥
Gur Manthrarraa Chithaar Naanak Dhukh N Thheevee ||2||
गुर मंत्रड़ा चितारि नानक दुखु न थीवई ॥२॥
Cherish the Words of the Guru's Mantra, O Nanak, and you shall not suffer in pain. ||2||

वाहु वाहु सिरजणहार पाईअनु ठाढि आपि ॥
Waaho! Waaho! The Creator Lord Himself has brought about peace and tranquility.
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨੁ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਪਿ ॥
Jeea Janth Miharavaan This No Sadhaa Jaap ||
जीअ जंत मिहरवानु तिस नो सदा जापि ॥
He is Kind to all beings and creatures; meditate forever on Him.
ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਸਮਰਥਿ ਚੁਕੇ ਬਿਲ ਬਿਲਾਪ ॥
Dhaeiaa Dhhaaree Samarathh Chukae Bil Bilaap ||
दइआ धारी समरथि चुके बिल बिलाप ॥
The all-powerful Lord has shown Mercy, and my cries of suffering are ended.
ਨਠੇ ਤਾਪ ਦੁਖ ਰੋਗ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਿ ॥
Nathae Thaap Dhukh Rog Poorae Gur Prathaap ||
नठे ताप दुख रोग पूरे गुर प्रतापि ॥
My fevers, pains and diseases are gone, by the Grace of the Perfect Guru.
ਕੀਤੀਅਨੁ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਖ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਿਵਾਜਿ ਥਾਪਿ ॥
Keetheean Aapanee Rakh Gareeb Nivaaj Thhaap ||
कीतीअनु आपणी रख गरीब निवाजि थापि ॥
The Lord has established me, and protected me; He is the Cherisher of the poor.
ਆਪੇ ਲਇਅਨੁ ਛਡਾਇ ਬੰਧਨ ਸਗਲ ਕਾਪਿ ॥
Aapae Laeian Shhaddaae Bandhhan Sagal Kaap ||
आपे लइअनु छडाइ बंधन सगल कापि ॥
He Himself has delivered me, breaking all my bonds.
ਤਿਸਨ ਬੁਝੀ ਆਸ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਮਨ ਸੰਤੋਖਿ ਧ੍ਰਾਪਿ ॥
Thisan Bujhee Aas Punnee Man Santhokh Dhhraap ||
तिसन बुझी आस पुंनी मन संतोखि ध्रापि ॥
My thirst is quenched, my hopes are fulfilled, and my mind is contented and satisfied.
ਵਡੀ ਹੂੰ ਵਡਾ ਅਪਾਰ ਖਸਮੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਲੇਪੁ ਨ ਪੁੰਨਿ ਪਾਪਿ ॥੧੩॥
Vaddee Hoon Vaddaa Apaar Khasam Jis Laep N Punn Paap ||13||
वडी हूं वडा अपार खसमु जिसु लेपु न पुंनि पापि ॥१३॥
The greatest of the great, the Infinite Lord and Master - He is not affected by virtue and vice. ||13||

ਜਾ ਕਉ ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਈ ਜਪਾਤ ॥
Jaa Ko Bheae Kirapaal Prabh Har Har Saeee Japaath ||
जा कउ भए क्रिपाल प्रभ हरि हरि सेई जपात ॥
They alone meditate on the Lord God, Har, Har, unto whom the Lord is Merciful.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਤਿਨ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਭੇਟਤ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਾਤ ॥੧॥
Naanak Preeth Lagee Thin Raam Sio Bhaettath Saadhh Sangaath ||1||
नानक प्रीति लगी तिन राम सिउ भेटत साध संगात ॥१॥
O Nanak, they enshrine love for the Lord, meeting the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||

ਰਾਮੁ ਰਮਹੁ ਬਡਭਾਗੀਹੋ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੋਇ ॥
Raam Ramahu Baddabhaageeho Jal Thhal Meheeal Soe ||
रामु रमहु बडभागीहो जलि थलि महीअलि सोइ ॥
Contemplate the Lord, O very fortunate ones; He is pervading in the water, the land and the sky.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਅਰਾਧਿਐ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥
Naanak Naam Araadhhiai Bighan N Laagai Koe ||2||
नानक नामि अराधिऐ बिघनु न लागै कोइ ॥२॥
O Nanak, worshipping the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mortal encounters no misfortune. ||2||

भगता का बोलिआ परवाणु है दरगह पवै थाइ ॥
The speech of the devotees is approved; it is accepted in the Court of the Lord.
ਭਗਤਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਰਤੇ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ॥
Bhagathaa Thaeree Ttaek Rathae Sach Naae ||
भगता तेरी टेक रते सचि नाइ ॥
Your devotees take to Your Support; they are imbued with the True Name.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
