O Merciful Lord, You bless Your devotees with Your Grace.
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਵਡ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਪੋਹੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਇ ॥
Dhookh Dharadh Vadd Rog N Pohae This Maae ||
दूखु दरदु वड रोगु न पोहे तिसु माइ ॥
Suffering, pain, terrible disease and Maya do not afflict them.
ਭਗਤਾ ਏਹੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗਾਇ ॥

भगता एहु अधारु गुण गोविंद गाइ ॥
This is the Support of the devotees, that they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਇਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa Dhin Rain Eiko Eik Dhhiaae ||
सदा सदा दिनु रैणि इको इकु धिआइ ॥
Forever and ever, day and night, they meditate on the One and Only Lord.
ਪੀਵਤਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਨ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਹੇ ਅਘਾਇ ॥੧੪॥
Peevath Anmrith Naam Jan Naamae Rehae Aghaae ||14||
पीवति अम्रित नामु जन नामे रहे अघाइ ॥१४॥
Drinking in the Ambrosial Amrit of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, His humble servants remain satisfied with the Naam. ||14||

ਕੋਟਿ ਬਿਘਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਾਗਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
Kott Bighan This Laagathae Jis No Visarai Naao ||
कोटि बिघन तिसु लागते जिस नो विसरै नाउ ॥
Millions of obstacles stand in the way of one who forgets the Name.
ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਬਿਲਪਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਸੁੰਞੈ ਘਰਿ ਕਾਉ ॥੧॥
Naanak Anadhin Bilapathae Jio Sunnjai Ghar Kaao ||1||
नानक अनदिनु बिलपते जिउ सुंञै घरि काउ ॥१॥
O Nanak, night and day, he croaks like a raven in a deserted house. ||1||

पिरी मिलावा जा थीऐ साई सुहावी रुति ॥
Beauteous is that season, when I am united with my Beloved.
ਘੜੀ ਮੁਹਤੁ ਨਹ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਵੀਐ ਨਿਤ ॥੨॥

घड़ी मुहतु नह वीसरै नानक रवीऐ नित ॥२॥

Even brave and mighty men cannot withstand the powerful
ਫਉਜ ਸਤਾਣੀ ਹਾਠ ਪੰਚਾ ਜੋੜੀਐ ॥
Fouj Sathaanee Haath Panchaa Jorreeai ||
फउज सताणी हाठ पंचा जोड़ीऐ ॥
And overwhelming army which the five passions have gathered.
ਦਸ ਨਾਰੀ ਅਉਧੂਤ ਦੇਨਿ ਚਮੋੜੀਐ ॥
Dhas Naaree Aoudhhooth Dhaen Chamorreeai ||
दस नारी अउधूत देनि चमोड़ीऐ ॥
The ten organs of sensation attach even detached renunciates to sensory pleasures.
ਜਿਣਿ ਜਿਣਿ ਲੈਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਰਲਾਇ ਏਹੋ ਏਨਾ ਲੋੜੀਐ ॥
Jin Jin Lainih Ralaae Eaeho Eaenaa Lorreeai ||
जिणि जिणि लैन्हि रलाइ एहो एना लोड़ीऐ ॥
They seek to conquer and overpower them, and so increase their following.
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਇਨ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਮੋੜੀਐ ॥
Thrai Gun Ein Kai Vas Kinai N Morreeai ||
त्रै गुण इन कै वसि किनै न मोड़ीऐ ॥
The world of the three dispositions is under their influence; no one can stand against them.
ਭਰਮੁ ਕੋਟੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਖਾਈ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਤੋੜੀਐ ॥
Bharam Kott Maaeiaa Khaaee Kahu Kith Bidhh Thorreeai ||
भरमु कोटु माइआ खाई कहु कितु बिधि तोड़ीऐ ॥
So tell me - how can the fort of doubt and the moat of Maya be overcome?
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਬਿਖਮ ਦਲੁ ਫੋੜੀਐ ॥

गुरु पूरा आराधि बिखम दलु फोड़ीऐ ॥
Worshipping the Perfect Guru, this awesome force is subdued.
ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਅਗੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਰਹਾ ਕਰ ਜੋੜੀਐ ॥੧੫॥

हउ तिसु अगै दिनु राति रहा कर जोड़ीऐ ॥१५॥
I stand before Him, day and night, with my palms pressed together. ||15||

ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਭੇ ਉਤਰਨਿ ਨੀਤ ਨੀਤ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
Kilavikh Sabhae Outharan Neeth Neeth Gun Gaao ||
किलविख सभे उतरनि नीत नीत गुण गाउ ॥
All sins are washed away, by continually singing the Lord's Glories.
ਕੋਟਿ ਕਲੇਸਾ ਊਪਜਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥
Kott Kalaesaa Oopajehi Naanak Bisarai Naao ||1||
कोटि कलेसा ऊपजहि नानक बिसरै नाउ ॥१॥
Millions of afflictions are produced, O Nanak, when the Name is forgotten. ||1||

नानक सतिगुरि भेटिऐ पूरी होवै जुगति ॥
O Nanak, meeting the True Guru, one comes to know the Perfect Way.
ਹਸੰਦਿਆ ਖੇਲੰਦਿਆ ਪੈਨੰਦਿਆ ਖਾਵੰਦਿਆ ਵਿਚੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ॥੨॥
Hasandhiaa Khaelandhiaa Painandhiaa Khaavandhiaa Vichae Hovai Mukath ||2||
हसंदिआ खेलंदिआ पैनंदिआ खावंदिआ विचे होवै मुकति ॥२॥
While laughing, playing, dressing and eating, he is liberated. ||2||

सो सतिगुरु धनु धंनु जिनि भरम गड़ु तोड़िआ ॥
Blessed, blessed is the True Guru, who has demolished the fortress of doubt.
ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਜੋੜਿਆ ॥
So Sathigur Vaahu Vaahu Jin Har Sio Jorriaa ||
सो सतिगुरु वाहु वाहु जिनि हरि सिउ जोड़िआ ॥
Waaho! Waaho! - Hail! Hail! to the True Guru, who has united me with the Lord.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਅਖੁਟੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਦਾਰੂਓ ॥
Naam Nidhhaan Akhutt Gur Dhaee Dhaarooou ||
नामु निधानु अखुटु गुरु देइ दारूओ ॥
The Guru has given me the medicine of the inexhaustible treasure of the Naam.
ਮਹਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ਤਿਨੈ ਬਿਦਾਰੂਓ ॥
Mehaa Rog Bikaraal Thinai Bidhaarooou ||
महा रोगु बिकराल तिनै बिदारूओ ॥
He has banished the great and terrible disease.
ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਖਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
Paaeiaa Naam Nidhhaan Bahuth Khajaaniaa ||
पाइआ नामु निधानु बहुतु खजानिआ ॥
I have obtained the great treasure of the wealth of the Naam.
ਜਿਤਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਨਿਆ ॥
Jithaa Janam Apaar Aap Pashhaaniaa ||
जिता जनमु अपारु आपु पछानिआ ॥
I have obtained eternal life, recognizing my own self.
ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਗੁਰ ਸਮਰਥ ਦੇਵ ॥
Mehimaa Kehee N Jaae Gur Samarathh Dhaev ||
महिमा कही न जाइ गुर समरथ देव ॥
The Glory of the all-powerful Divine Guru cannot be described.
ਗੁਰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵ ॥੧੬॥

गुर पारब्रहम परमेसुर अपर्मपर अलख अभेव ॥१६॥
The Guru is the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, infinite, unseen and unknowable. ||16||

Oudham Karaedhiaa Jeeo Thoon Kamaavadhiaa Sukh Bhunch ||
उदमु करेदिआ जीउ तूं कमावदिआ सुख भुंचु ॥
Make the effort, and you shall live; practicing it, you shall enjoy peace.
ਧਿਆਇਦਿਆ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਤਰੀ ਚਿੰਤ ॥੧॥
Dhhiaaeidhiaa Thoon Prabhoo Mil Naanak Outharee Chinth ||1||
धिआइदिआ तूं प्रभू मिलु नानक उतरी चिंत ॥१॥
Meditating, you shall meet God, O Nanak, and your anxiety shall vanish. ||1||

सुभ चिंतन गोबिंद रमण निरमल साधू संग ॥
Bless me with sublime thoughts, O Lord of the Universe, and contemplation in the immaculate Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਉ ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥੨॥

नानक नामु न विसरउ इक घड़ी करि किरपा भगवंत ॥२॥
O Nanak, may I never forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, for even an instant; be merciful to me, Lord God. ||2||

Whatever happens is according to Your Will, so why should I be afraid?
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੀਉ ਅਰਪੀਐ ॥
Jis Mil Japeeai Naao This Jeeo Arapeeai ||
जिसु मिलि जपीऐ नाउ तिसु जीउ अरपीऐ ॥
Meeting Him, I meditate on the Name - I offer my soul to Him.
ਆਇਐ ਚਿਤਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰ ॥
Aaeiai Chith Nihaal Saahib Baesumaar ||
आइऐ चिति निहालु साहिब बेसुमार ॥
When the Infinite Lord comes to mind, one is enraptured.
ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਪੋਹੇ ਕਵਣੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਲਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥
This No Pohae Kavan Jis Val Nirankaar ||
तिस नो पोहे कवणु जिसु वलि निरंकार ॥
Who can touch one who has the Formless Lord on his side?
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਬਾਹਰਾ ॥
Sabh Kishh This Kai Vas N Koee Baaharaa ||
सभु किछु तिस कै वसि न कोई बाहरा ॥
Everything is under His control; no one is beyond Him.
ਸੋ ਭਗਤਾ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਹਰਾ ॥
So Bhagathaa Man Vuthaa Sach Samaaharaa ||
सो भगता मनि वुठा सचि समाहरा ॥
He, the True Lord, dwells in the minds of His devotees.
ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਤੂੰ ਰਖਣ ਵਾਲਿਆ ॥

तेरे दास धिआइनि तुधु तूं रखण वालिआ ॥
Your slaves meditate on You; You are the Savior, the Protector Lord.
