ਜੋ ਲੋੜੀਦੇ ਰਾਮ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਈ ਕਾਂਢਿਆ ॥
Jo Lorreedhae Raam Saevak Saeee Kaandtiaa ||
जो लोड़ीदे राम सेवक सेई कांढिआ ॥
Those who long for the Lord, are said to be His servants.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਣੇ ਸਤਿ ਸਾਂਈ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਬਾਹਰਾ ॥੧॥
Naanak Jaanae Sath Saanee Santh N Baaharaa ||1||
नानक जाणे सति सांई संत न बाहरा ॥१॥
Nanak knows this Truth, that the Lord is not different from His Saint. ||1||

ਮਿਲਿ ਜਲੁ ਜਲਹਿ ਖਟਾਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Mil Jal Jalehi Khattaanaa Raam ||
मिलि जलु जलहि खटाना राम ॥
As water mixes and blends with water,
ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Sang Jothee Joth Milaanaa Raam ||
संगि जोती जोति मिलाना राम ॥
So does one's light mix and blend with the Lord's Light.
ਸੰਮਾਇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਰਤੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਹਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ॥
Sanmaae Pooran Purakh Karathae Aap Aapehi Jaaneeai ||
समाइ पूरन पुरख करते आपि आपहि जाणीऐ ॥
Merging with the perfect, all-powerful Creator, one comes to know his own self.
ਤਹ ਸੁੰਨਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਏਕੁ ਏਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ॥
Theh Sunn Sehaj Samaadhh Laagee Eaek Eaek Vakhaaneeai ||
तह सुंनि सहजि समाधि लागी एकु एकु वखाणीऐ ॥
Then, he enters the celestial state of absolute Samaadhi, and speaks of the One and Only Lord.
ਆਪਿ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਆਪੁ ਵਖਾਨਾ ॥
Aap Gupathaa Aap Mukathaa Aap Aap Vakhaanaa ||
आपि गुपता आपि मुकता आपि आपु वखाना ॥
He Himself is unmanifest, and He Himself is liberated; He Himself speaks of Himself.
ਨਾਨਕ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਜਲੁ ਜਲਹਿ ਖਟਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
Naanak Bhram Bhai Gun Binaasae Mil Jal Jalehi Khattaanaa ||4||2||
नानक भ्रम भै गुण बिनासे मिलि जलु जलहि खटाना ॥४॥२॥
O Nanak, doubt, fear and the limitations of the three qualities are dispelled, as one merges into the Lord, like water blending with water. ||4||2||

God is the all-powerful Creator, the Cause of causes.
ਰਖੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਗਲ ਦੇ ਹਥਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Rakh Jagath Sagal Dhae Hathhaa Raam ||
रखु जगतु सगल दे हथा राम ॥
He preserves the whole world, reaching out with His hand.
ਸਮਰਥ ਸਰਣਾ ਜੋਗੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥
Samarathh Saranaa Jog Suaamee Kirapaa Nidhh Sukhadhaathaa ||
समरथ सरणा जोगु सुआमी क्रिपा निधि सुखदाता ॥
He is the all-powerful, safe Sanctuary, Lord and Master, Treasure of mercy, Giver of peace.
ਹੰਉ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਏਕੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥
Hano Kurabaanee Dhaas Thaerae Jinee Eaek Pashhaathaa ||
हंउ कुरबाणी दास तेरे जिनी एकु पछाता ॥
I am a sacrifice to Your slaves, who recognize only the One Lord.
ਵਰਨੁ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਲਖਿਆ ਕਥਨ ਤੇ ਅਕਥਾ ॥
Varan Chihan N Jaae Lakhiaa Kathhan Thae Akathhaa ||
वरनु चिहनु न जाइ लखिआ कथन ते अकथा ॥
His color and shape cannot be seen; His description is indescribable.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥਾ ॥੧॥

बिनवंति नानक सुणहु बिनती प्रभ करण कारण समरथा ॥१॥

ਏਹਿ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Eaehi Jeea Thaerae Thoo Karathaa Raam ||
एहि जीअ तेरे तू करता राम ॥
These beings are Yours; You are their Creator.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਹਰਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Prabh Dhookh Dharadh Bhram Harathaa Raam ||
प्रभ दूख दरद भ्रम हरता राम ॥
God is the Destroyer of pain, suffering and doubt.
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੈਆਲਾ ॥
Bhram Dhookh Dharadh Nivaar Khin Mehi Rakh Laehu Dheen Dhaiaalaa ||
भ्रम दूख दरद निवारि खिन महि रखि लेहु दीन दैआला ॥
Eliminate my doubt, pain and suffering in an instant, and preserve me, O Lord, Merciful to the meek.
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਆਮਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਬਾਲ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ॥
Maath Pithaa Suaam Sajan Sabh Jagath Baal Gopaalaa ||
मात पिता सुआमि सजणु सभु जगतु बाल गोपाला ॥
You are mother, father and friend, O Lord and Master; the whole world is Your child, O Lord of the World.
ਜੋ ਸਰਣਿ ਆਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਮਰਤਾ ॥
Jo Saran Aavai Gun Nidhhaan Paavai So Bahurr Janam N Marathaa ||
जो सरणि आवै गुण निधान पावै सो बहुड़ि जनमि न मरता ॥
One who comes seeking Your Sanctuary, obtains the treasure of virtue, and does not have to enter the cycle of birth and death again.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਭਿ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ॥੨॥
Binavanth Naanak Dhaas Thaeraa Sabh Jeea Thaerae Thoo Karathaa ||2||
बिनवंति नानक दासु तेरा सभि जीअ तेरे तू करता ॥२॥
Prays Nanak, I am Your slave. All beings are Yours; You are their Creator. ||2||
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
Aath Pehar Har Dhhiaaeeai Raam ||
आठ पहर हरि धिआईऐ राम ॥
Meditating on the Lord, twenty-four hours a day,
ਮਨ ਇਛਿਅੜਾ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
Man Eishhiarraa Fal Paaeeai Raam ||
मन इछिअड़ा फलु पाईऐ राम ॥
The fruits of the heart's desires are obtained.
ਮਨ ਇਛ ਪਾਈਐ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਤ੍ਰਾਸਾ ॥
Man Eishh Paaeeai Prabh Dhhiaaeeai Mittehi Jam Kae Thraasaa ||
मन इछ पाईऐ प्रभु धिआईऐ मिटहि जम के त्रासा ॥
Your heart's desires are obtained, meditating on God, and the fear of death is dispelled.
ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਾਇਆ ਭਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
Gobidh Gaaeiaa Saadhh Sangaaeiaa Bhee Pooran Aasaa ||
गोबिदु गाइआ साध संगाइआ भई पूरन आसा ॥
I sing of the Lord of the Universe in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and my hopes are fulfilled.
ਤਜਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਸਗਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈਐ ॥
Thaj Maan Mohu Vikaar Sagalae Prabhoo Kai Man Bhaaeeai ||
तजि मानु मोहु विकार सगले प्रभू कै मनि भाईऐ ॥
Renouncing egotism, emotional attachment and all corruption, we become pleasing to the Mind of God.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੩॥

बिनवंति नानक दिनसु रैणी सदा हरि हरि धिआईऐ ॥३॥
Prays Nanak, day and night, meditate forever on the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਦਰਿ ਵਾਜਹਿ ਅਨਹਤ ਵਾਜੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Dhar Vaajehi Anehath Vaajae Raam ||
दरि वाजहि अनहत वाजे राम ॥
At the Lord's Door, the unstruck melody resounds.
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਗਾਜੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Ghatt Ghatt Har Gobindh Gaajae Raam ||
घटि घटि हरि गोबिंदु गाजे राम ॥
In each and every heart, the Lord, the Lord of the Universe, sings.
ਗੋਵਿਦ ਗਾਜੇ ਸਦਾ ਬਿਰਾਜੇ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਊਚਾ ॥
Govidh Gaajae Sadhaa Biraajae Agam Agochar Oochaa ||
गोविद गाजे सदा बिराजे अगम अगोचरु ऊचा ॥
The Lord of the Universe sings, and abides forever; He is unfathomable, profoundly deep, lofty and exalted.
ਗੁਣ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਪਹੂਚਾ ॥
Gun Baeanth Kishh Kehan N Jaaee Koe N Sakai Pehoochaa ||
गुण बेअंत किछु कहणु न जाई कोइ न सकै पहूचा ॥
His virtues are infinite - none of them can be described. No one can reach Him.
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਸਾਜੇ ॥
Aap Oupaaeae Aap Prathipaalae Jeea Janth Sabh Saajae ||
आपि उपाए आपि प्रतिपाले जीअ जंत सभि साजे ॥
He Himself creates, and He Himself sustains; all beings and creatures are fashioned by Him.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਰਿ ਵਜਹਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਵਾਜੇ ॥੪॥੩॥

बिनवंति नानक सुखु नामि भगती दरि वजहि अनहद वाजे ॥४॥३॥

मुहलति पुनी पाई भरी जानीअड़ा घति चलाइआ ॥
