ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਸਚੜੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥
Bhram Maaeiaa Vichahu Katteeai Sacharrai Naam Samaaeae ||
भ्रमु माइआ विचहु कटीऐ सचड़ै नामि समाए ॥
Doubt and Maya have been removed from within me, and I am merged in the Naam, the True Name of the Lord.
ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
Sachai Naam Samaaeae Har Gun Gaaeae Mil Preetham Sukh Paaeae ||
सचै नामि समाए हरि गुण गाए मिलि प्रीतम सुखु पाए ॥
Merged in the True Name of the Lord, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; meeting my Beloved, I have found peace.
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦਿ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹੰਉਮੈ ਜਾਏ ॥
Sadhaa Anandh Rehai Dhin Raathee Vichahu Hanoumai Jaaeae ||
सदा अनंदि रहै दिनु राती विचहु हंउमै जाए ॥
I am in constant bliss, day and night; egotism has been dispelled from within me.
ਜਿਨੀ ਪੁਰਖੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਹੰਉ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥
Jinee Purakhee Har Naam Chith Laaeiaa Thin Kai Hano Laago Paaeae ||
जिनी पुरखी हरि नामि चितु लाइआ तिन कै हंउ लागउ पाए ॥
I fall at the feet of those who enshrine the Naam within their consciousness.
ਕਾਂਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਥੀਐ ਜਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੨॥
Kaaneiaa Kanchan Thaan Thheeai Jaa Sathigur Leae Milaaeae ||2||
कांइआ कंचनु तां थीऐ जा सतिगुरु लए मिलाए ॥२॥
The body becomes like gold, when the True Guru unites one with Himself. ||2||
ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥
So Sachaa Sach Salaaheeai Jae Sathigur Dhaee Bujhaaeae ||
सो सचा सचु सलाहीऐ जे सतिगुरु देइ बुझाए ॥
We truly praise the True Lord, when the True Guru imparts understanding.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੀਆ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਦੇਸਨਿ ਆਗੈ ਜਾਏ ॥
Bin Sathigur Bharam Bhulaaneeaa Kiaa Muhu Dhaesan Aagai Jaaeae ||
बिनु सतिगुर भरमि भुलाणीआ किआ मुहु देसनि आगै जाए ॥
Without the True Guru, they are deluded by doubt; going to the world hereafter, what face will they display?
ਕਿਆ ਦੇਨਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਜਾਏ ਅਵਗੁਣਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਏ ਦੁਖੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਏ ॥
Kiaa Dhaen Muhu Jaaeae Avagun Pashhuthaaeae Dhukho Dhukh Kamaaeae ||
किआ देनि मुहु जाए अवगुणि पछुताए दुखो दुखु कमाए ॥
What face will they show, when they go there? They will regret and repent for their sins; their actions will bring them only pain and suffering.
ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੀਆ ਸੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲਾ ਪਿਰ ਕੈ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥
Naam Ratheeaa Sae Rang Chaloolaa Pir Kai Ank Samaaeae ||
नामि रतीआ से रंगि चलूला पिर कै अंकि समाए ॥
Those who are imbued with the Naam are dyed in the deep crimson color of the Lord's Love; they merge into the Being of their Husband Lord.
ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਸੂਝਈ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਹੀਐ ਜਾਏ ॥
This Jaevadd Avar N Soojhee Kis Aagai Keheeai Jaaeae ||
तिसु जेवडु अवरु न सूझई किसु आगै कहीऐ जाए ॥
I can conceive of no other as great as the Lord; unto whom should I go and speak?
ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥੩॥
So Sachaa Sach Salaaheeai Jae Sathigur Dhaee Bujhaaeae ||3||
सो सचा सचु सलाहीऐ जे सतिगुरु देइ बुझाए ॥३॥
We truly praise the True Lord, when the True Guru imparts understanding. ||3||
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੜਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਹੰਉ ਤਿਨ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥

जिनी सचड़ा सचु सलाहिआ हंउ तिन लागउ पाए ॥
I fall at the feet of those who praise the Truest of the True.
ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਚੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਲੁ ਸਭ ਜਾਏ ॥
Sae Jan Sachae Niramalae Thin Miliaa Mal Sabh Jaaeae ||
से जन सचे निरमले तिन मिलिआ मलु सभ जाए ॥
Those humble beings are true, and immaculately pure; meeting them, all filth is washed off.
ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਲੁ ਸਭ ਜਾਏ ਸਚੈ ਸਰਿ ਨਾਏ ਸਚੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥
Thin Miliaa Mal Sabh Jaaeae Sachai Sar Naaeae Sachai Sehaj Subhaaeae ||
तिन मिलिआ मलु सभ जाए सचै सरि नाए सचै सहजि सुभाए ॥
Meeting them, all filth is washed off; bathing in the Pool of Truth, one becomes truthful, with intuitive ease.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥
Naam Niranjan Agam Agochar Sathigur Dheeaa Bujhaaeae ||
नामु निरंजनु अगमु अगोचरु सतिगुरि दीआ बुझाए ॥
The True Guru has given me the realization of the Naam, the Immaculate Name of the Lord, the unfathomable, the imperceptible.

अनदिनु भगति करहि रंगि राते नानक सचि समाए ॥
Those who perform devotional worship to the Lord night and day, are imbued with His Love; O Nanak, they are absorbed in the True Lord.

सबदि रते वड हंस है सचु नामु उरि धारि ॥
The great swans are imbued with the Word of the Shabad; they enshrine the True Name within their hearts.
ਸਚੁ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਹਿ ਸਦ ਸਚਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
Sach Sangrehehi Sadh Sach Rehehi Sachai Naam Piaar ||
सचु संग्रहहि सद सचि रहहि सचै नामि पिआरि ॥
They gather Truth, remain always in Truth, and love the True Name.
ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਨਦਰਿ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥

सदा निरमल मैलु न लगई नदरि कीती करतारि ॥
They are always pure and immaculate - filth does not touch them; they are blessed with the Grace of the Creator Lord.

I thought that he was a great swan, so I associated with him.
ਜੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਬਗੁ ਬਪੁੜਾ ਤ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਦੇਦੀ ਅੰਗੁ ॥੨॥

जे जाणा बगु बपुड़ा त जनमि न देदी अंगु ॥२॥
If I had known that he was only a wretched heron from birth, I would not have touched him. ||2||

हंसा वेखि तरंदिआ बगां भि आया चाउ ॥
Seeing the swans swimming, the herons became envious.
ਡੁਬਿ ਮੁਏ ਬਗ ਬਪੁੜੇ ਸਿਰੁ ਤਲਿ ਉਪਰਿ ਪਾਉ ॥੩॥

डुबि मुए बग बपुड़े सिरु तलि उपरि पाउ ॥३॥
But the poor herons drowned and died, and floated with their heads down, and their feet above. ||3||

तू करण कारण समरथु है तू करहि सु थीआ ॥
You are the all-powerful Cause of causes; what You do, comes to be.
ਤੂ ਅਣਮੰਗਿਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਵਣਾ ਸਭਨਾਹਾ ਜੀਆ ॥

तू अणमंगिआ दानु देवणा सभनाहा जीआ ॥
You give gifts to all beings, without their asking.
