Naanak Saa Dhhan Milai Milaaee Pir Anthar Sadhaa Samaalae ||
नानक सा धन मिलै मिलाई पिरु अंतरि सदा समाले ॥
O Nanak, that soul-bride is united in Union; she cherishes her Beloved Husband forever, deep within herself.
ਇਕਿ ਰੋਵਹਿ ਪਿਰਹਿ ਵਿਛੁੰਨੀਆ ਅੰਧੀ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਲੇ ॥੪॥੨॥
Eik Rovehi Pirehi Vishhunneeaa Andhhee N Jaanai Pir Hai Naalae ||4||2||
इकि रोवहि पिरहि विछुंनीआ अंधी न जाणै पिरु है नाले ॥४॥२॥
Some weep and wail, separated from their Husband Lord; the blind ones do not know that their Husband is with them. ||4||2||

ਰੋਵਹਿ ਪਿਰਹਿ ਵਿਛੁੰਨੀਆ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਸਚੜਾ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲੇ ॥
Rovehi Pirehi Vishhunneeaa Mai Pir Sacharraa Hai Sadhaa Naalae ||
रोवहि पिरहि विछुंनीआ मै पिरु सचड़ा है सदा नाले ॥
Those who are separated from their Beloved Husband Lord weep and wail, but my True Husband Lord is always with me.
ਜਿਨੀ ਚਲਣੁ ਸਹੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥
Jinee Chalan Sehee Jaaniaa Sathigur Saevehi Naam Samaalae ||
जिनी चलणु सही जाणिआ सतिगुरु सेवहि नामु समाले ॥
Those who know that they must depart, serve the True Guru, and dwell upon the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਸਦਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਲੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Sadhaa Naam Samaalae Sathigur Hai Naalae Sathigur Saev Sukh Paaeiaa ||
सदा नामु समाले सतिगुरु है नाले सतिगुरु सेवि सुखु पाइआ ॥
They dwell constantly upon the Naam, and the True Guru is with them; they serve the True Guru, and so obtain peace.
ਸਬਦੇ ਕਾਲੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਇਆ ॥
Sabadhae Kaal Maar Sach Our Dhhaar Fir Aavan Jaan N Hoeiaa ||
सबदे कालु मारि सचु उरि धारि फिरि आवण जाणु न होइआ ॥
Through the Shabad, they kill death, and enshrine the True Lord within their hearts; they shall not have to come and go again.
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੀ ਨਾਈ ਵੇਖੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੇ ॥
Sachaa Saahib Sachee Naaee Vaekhai Nadhar Nihaalae ||
सचा साहिबु सची नाई वेखै नदरि निहाले ॥
True is the Lord and Master, and True is His Name; bestowing His Gracious Glance, one is enraptured.
ਰੋਵਹਿ ਪਿਰਹੁ ਵਿਛੁੰਨੀਆ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਸਚੜਾ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲੇ ॥੧॥

प्रभु मेरा साहिबु सभ दू ऊचा है किव मिलां प्रीतम पिआरे ॥
God, my Lord and Master, is the highest of all; how can I meet my Dear Beloved?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲੀ ਤਾਂ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
Sathigur Maelee Thaan Sehaj Milee Pir Raakhiaa Our Dhhaarae ||
सतिगुरि मेली तां सहजि मिली पिरु राखिआ उर धारे ॥
When the True Guru united me, then I was naturally united with my Husband Lord, and now, I keep Him clasped to my heart.
ਸਦਾ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ਨੇਹੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਿਰੁ ਦਿਸੈ ॥
Sadhaa Our Dhhaarae Naehu Naal Piaarae Sathigur Thae Pir Dhisai ||
सदा उर धारे नेहु नालि पिआरे सतिगुर ते पिरु दिसै ॥
I constantly, lovingly cherish my Beloved within my heart; through the True Guru, I see my Beloved.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਕਾ ਕਚਾ ਚੋਲਾ ਤਿਤੁ ਪੈਧੈ ਪਗੁ ਖਿਸੈ ॥
Maaeiaa Moh Kaa Kachaa Cholaa Thith Paidhhai Pag Khisai ||
माइआ मोह का कचा चोला तितु पैधै पगु खिसै ॥
The cloak of Maya's love is false; wearing it, one slips and loses his footing.
ਪਿਰ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਚੋਲਾ ਤਿਤੁ ਪੈਧੈ ਤਿਖਾ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
Pir Rang Raathaa So Sachaa Cholaa Thith Paidhhai Thikhaa Nivaarae ||
पिर रंगि राता सो सचा चोला तितु पैधै तिखा निवारे ॥
That cloak is true, which is dyed in the color of the Love of my Beloved; wearing it, my inner thirst is quenched.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਭ ਦੂ ਊਚਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੨॥

मै प्रभु सचु पछाणिआ होर भूली अवगणिआरे ॥
I have realized my True Lord God, while the other worthless ones have gone astray.
ਮੈ ਸਦਾ ਰਾਵੇ ਪਿਰੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਚੜੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
Mai Sadhaa Raavae Pir Aapanaa Sacharrai Sabadh Veechaarae ||
मै सदा रावे पिरु आपणा सचड़ै सबदि वीचारे ॥
I dwell constantly upon my Beloved Husband Lord, and reflect upon the True Word of the Shabad.
ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਨਾਰੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Sachai Sabadh Veechaarae Rang Raathee Naarae Mil Sathigur Preetham Paaeiaa ||
सचै सबदि वीचारे रंगि राती नारे मिलि सतिगुर प्रीतमु पाइआ ॥
The bride reflects upon the True Shabad, and is imbued with His Love; she meets with the True Guru, and finds her Beloved.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ਗਇਆ ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥
Anthar Rang Raathee Sehajae Maathee Gaeiaa Dhusaman Dhookh Sabaaeiaa ||
अंतरि रंगि राती सहजे माती गइआ दुसमनु दूखु सबाइआ ॥
Deep within, she is imbued with His Love, and intoxicated with delight; her enemies and sufferings are all taken away.
ਅਪਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੰਉ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਜੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
Apanae Gur Kano Than Man Dheejai Thaan Man Bheejai Thrisanaa Dhookh Nivaarae ||
अपने गुर कंउ तनु मनु दीजै तां मनु भीजै त्रिसना दूख निवारे ॥
Surrender body and soul to your Guru, and then you shall become happy; your thirst and pain shall be taken away.
ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹੋਰ ਭੂਲੀ ਅਵਗਣਿਆਰੇ ॥੩॥
Mai Pir Sach Pashhaaniaa Hor Bhoolee Avaganiaarae ||3||
मै पिरु सचु पछाणिआ होर भूली अवगणिआरे ॥३॥
I have realized my True Lord God, while the other worthless ones have gone astray. ||3||

सचड़ै आपि जगतु उपाइआ गुर बिनु घोर अंधारो ॥
The True Lord Himself created the world; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness.
ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ਪਿਆਰੋ ॥
Aap Milaaeae Aap Milai Aapae Dhaee Piaaro ||
आपि मिलाए आपि मिलै आपे देइ पिआरो ॥
He Himself unites, and causes us to unite with Him; He Himself blesses us with His Love.
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ਪਿਆਰੋ ਸਹਜਿ ਵਾਪਾਰੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
Aapae Dhaee Piaaro Sehaj Vaapaaro Guramukh Janam Savaarae ||
आपे देइ पिआरो सहजि वापारो गुरमुखि जनमु सवारे ॥
He Himself blesses us with His Love, and deals in celestial peace; the life of the Gurmukh is reformed.
ਧਨੁ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਚਿਆਰੋ ॥
Dhhan Jag Mehi Aaeiaa Aap Gavaaeiaa Dhar Saachai Sachiaaro ||
धनु जग महि आइआ आपु गवाइआ दरि साचै सचिआरो ॥
Blessed is his coming into the world; he banishes his self-conceit, and is acclaimed as true in the Court of the True Lord.
ਗਿਆਨਿ ਰਤਨਿ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਹੋਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੋ ॥
Giaan Rathan Ghatt Chaanan Hoaa Naanak Naam Piaaro ||
गिआनि रतनि घटि चानणु होआ नानक नाम पिआरो ॥
The light of the jewel of spiritual wisdom shines within his heart, O Nanak, and he loves the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਸਚੜੈ ਆਪਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਘੋਰ ਅੰਧਾਰੋ ॥੪॥੩॥

इहु सरीरु जजरी है इस नो जरु पहुचै आए ॥
This body is frail; old age is overtaking it.
ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਹੋਰੁ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਏ ॥
Gur Raakhae Sae Oubarae Hor Mar Janmai Aavai Jaaeae ||
गुरि राखे से उबरे होरु मरि जमै आवै जाए ॥
Those who are protected by the Guru are saved, while others die, to be reincarnated; they continue coming and going.
ਹੋਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਵਹਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਏ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
Hor Mar Janmehi Aavehi Jaavehi Anth Geae Pashhuthaavehi Bin Naavai Sukh N Hoee ||
होरि मरि जमहि आवहि जावहि अंति गए पछुतावहि बिनु नावै सुखु न होई ॥
Others die, to be reincarnated; they continue coming and going, and in the end, they depart regretfully. Without the Name, there is no peace.
ਐਥੈ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਹੈ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
Aithhai Kamaavai So Fal Paavai Manamukh Hai Path Khoee ||
ऐथै कमावै सो फलु पावै मनमुखि है पति खोई ॥
As one acts here, so does he obtain his rewards; the self-willed manmukh loses his honor.
ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਘੋਰ ਅੰਧਾਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ ਨਾ ਤਿਥੈ ਭੈਣ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥
Jam Pur Ghor Andhhaar Mehaa Gubaar Naa Thithhai Bhain N Bhaaee ||
जम पुरि घोर अंधारु महा गुबारु ना तिथै भैण न भाई ॥
In the City of Death, there is pitch darkness, and huge clouds of dust; neither sister nor brother is there.
ਇਹੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਜਜਰੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਨੋ ਜਰੁ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਆਈ ॥੧॥
Eihu Sareer Jajaree Hai Eis No Jar Pahuchai Aaee ||1||
इहु सरीरु जजरी है इस नो जरु पहुचै आई ॥१॥
This body is frail; old age is overtaking it. ||1||
ਕਾਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਥੀਐ ਜਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Kaaeiaa Kanchan Thaan Thheeai Jaan Sathigur Leae Milaaeae ||
काइआ कंचनु तां थीऐ जां सतिगुरु लए मिलाए ॥
The body becomes like gold, when the True Guru unites one with Himself.
