Mathhae Vaal Pashhaarrian Jam Maarag Muthae ||
मथे वालि पछाड़िअनु जम मारगि मुते ॥
Grabbing them by the hair on their heads, the Lord throws them down, and leaves them on the path of Death.
ਦੁਖਿ ਲਗੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਣਿਆ ਨਰਕਿ ਘੋਰਿ ਸੁਤੇ ॥
Dhukh Lagai Bilalaaniaa Narak Ghor Suthae ||
दुखि लगै बिललाणिआ नरकि घोरि सुते ॥
They cry out in pain, in the darkest of hells.
ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇ ਦਾਸ ਰਖਿਅਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਤੇ ॥੨੦॥

Raam Japahu Vaddabhaageeho Jal Thhal Pooran Soe ||
रामु जपहु वडभागीहो जलि थलि पूरनु सोइ ॥
Meditate on the Lord, O fortunate ones; He is pervading the waters and the earth.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਧਿਆਇਐ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥

कोटि बिघन तिसु लागते जिस नो विसरै नाउ ॥
Millions of misfortunes block the way of one who forgets the Name of the Lord.

Meditating, meditating in remembrance of the Great Giver, one's heart's desires are fulfilled.

Eishh Punnee Man Aas Geae Visooriaa ||
इछ पुंनी मनि आस गए विसूरिआ ॥
The hopes and desires of the mind are realized, and sorrows are forgotten.
ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਭਾਲਦਾ ॥
Paaeiaa Naam Nidhhaan Jis No Bhaaladhaa ||
पाइआ नामु निधानु जिस नो भालदा ॥
The treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is obtained; I have searched for it for so long.
ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਘਾਲਦਾ ॥
Joth Milee Sang Joth Rehiaa Ghaaladhaa ||
जोति मिली संगि जोति रहिआ घालदा ॥
My light is merged into the Light, and my labors are over.
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੁਠੇ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ॥

सूख सहज आनंद वुठे तितु घरि ॥
I abide in that house of peace, poise and bliss.
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣ ਰਹੇ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਤਹਾ ਮਰਿ ॥
Aavan Jaan Rehae Janam N Thehaa Mar ||
आवण जाण रहे जनमु न तहा मरि ॥
My comings and goings have ended - there is no birth or death there.
ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਇਕੁ ਇਕੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਇਆ ॥

चारि पाव दुइ सिंग गुंग मुख तब कैसे गुन गईहै ॥
With four feet, two horns and a mute mouth, how could you sing the Praises of the Lord?
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਠੇਗਾ ਪਰਿਹੈ ਤਬ ਕਤ ਮੂਡ ਲੁਕਈਹੈ ॥੧॥

ऊठत बैठत ठेगा परिहै तब कत मूड लुकईहै ॥१॥
Standing up and sitting down, the stick shall still fall on you, so where will you hide your head? ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੈਲ ਬਿਰਾਨੇ ਹੁਈਹੈ ॥

हरि बिनु बैल बिराने हुईहै ॥
Without the Lord, you are like a stray ox;
ਫਾਟੇ ਨਾਕਨ ਟੂਟੇ ਕਾਧਨ ਕੋਦਉ ਕੋ ਭੁਸੁ ਖਈਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

फाटे नाकन टूटे काधन कोदउ को भुसु खईहै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
With your nose torn, and your shoulders injured, you shall have only the straw of coarse grain to eat. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਰੋ ਦਿਨੁ ਡੋਲਤ ਬਨ ਮਹੀਆ ਅਜਹੁ ਨ ਪੇਟ ਅਘਈਹੈ ॥
Saaro Dhin Ddolath Ban Meheeaa Ajahu N Paett Agheehai ||
सारो दिनु डोलत बन महीआ अजहु न पेट अघईहै ॥
All day long, you shall wander in the forest, and even then, your belly will not be full.
ਜਨ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੋ ਕਹੋ ਨ ਮਾਨੋ ਕੀਓ ਅਪਨੋ ਪਈਹੈ ॥੨॥
Jan Bhagathan Ko Keho N Maano Keeou Apano Peehai ||2||
जन भगतन को कहो न मानो कीओ अपनो पईहै ॥२॥
You did not follow the advice of the humble devotees, and so you shall obtain the fruits of your actions. ||2||
ਦੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਕਰਤ ਮਹਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਬੂਡੋ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਰਮਈਹੈ ॥
Dhukh Sukh Karath Mehaa Bhram Booddo Anik Jon Bharameehai ||
दुख सुख करत महा भ्रमि बूडो अनिक जोनि भरमईहै ॥
Enduring pleasure and pain, drowned in the great ocean of doubt, you shall wander in numerous reincarnations.
ਰਤਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਖੋਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਿਸਰਿਓ ਇਹੁ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਕਤ ਪਈਹੈ ॥੩॥
Rathan Janam Khoeiou Prabh Bisariou Eihu Aousar Kath Peehai ||3||
रतन जनमु खोइओ प्रभु बिसरिओ इहु अउसरु कत पईहै ॥३॥
You have lost the jewel of human birth by forgetting God; when will you have such an opportunity again? ||3||
ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਤੇਲਕ ਕੇ ਕਪਿ ਜਿਉ ਗਤਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਬਿਹਈਹੈ ॥
Bhramath Firath Thaelak Kae Kap Jio Gath Bin Rain Biheehai ||
भ्रमत फिरत तेलक के कपि जिउ गति बिनु रैनि बिहईहै ॥
You turn on the wheel of reincarnation, like an ox at the oil-press; the night of your life passes away without salvation.

कहत कबीर राम नाम बिनु मूंड धुने पछुतईहै ॥४॥१॥
Says Kabeer, without the Name of the Lord, you shall pound your head, and regret and repent. ||4||1||

तनना बुनना सभु तजिओ है कबीर ॥
Kabeer has given up all his spinning and weaving,
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਿਖਿ ਲੀਓ ਸਰੀਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Har Kaa Naam Likh Leeou Sareer ||1|| Rehaao ||
हरि का नामु लिखि लीओ सरीर ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
And written the Name of the Lord on his body. ||1||Pause||
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤਾਗਾ ਬਾਹਉ ਬੇਹੀ ॥
Jab Lag Thaagaa Baaho Baehee ||
जब लगु तागा बाहउ बेही ॥
As long as I pass the thread through the bobbin,
ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਨੇਹੀ ॥੨॥
Thab Lag Bisarai Raam Sanaehee ||2||
तब लगु बिसरै रामु सनेही ॥२॥
I forget the Lord, my Beloved. ||2||
ਓਛੀ ਮਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਜੁਲਾਹਾ ॥
Oushhee Math Maeree Jaath Julaahaa ||
ओछी मति मेरी जाति जुलाहा ॥
My intellect is lowly - I am a weaver by birth,
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਹਿਓ ਮੈ ਲਾਹਾ ॥੩॥
Har Kaa Naam Lehiou Mai Laahaa ||3||
हरि का नामु लहिओ मै लाहा ॥३॥
But I have earned the profit of the Name of the Lord. ||3||
