Thujh Hee Man Raathae Ahinis Parabhaathae Har Rasanaa Jap Man Rae ||2||
तुझ ही मन राते अहिनिसि परभाते हरि रसना जपि मन रे ॥२॥
My mind is imbued with You, day and night and morning, O Lord; my tongue chants Your Name, and my mind meditates on You. ||2||
ਤੁਮ ਸਾਚੇ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਰਾਚੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਭੇਦਿ ਫੁਨਿ ਸਾਚੇ ॥
Thum Saachae Ham Thum Hee Raachae Sabadh Bhaedh Fun Saachae ||
तुम साचे हम तुम ही राचे सबदि भेदि फुनि साचे ॥
You are True, and I am absorbed into You; through the mystery of the Shabad, I shall ultimately become True as well.
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਸੂਚੇ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੇ ਸੇ ਕਾਚੇ ॥੩॥
Ahinis Naam Rathae Sae Soochae Mar Janamae Sae Kaachae ||3||
अहिनिसि नामि रते से सूचे मरि जनमे से काचे ॥३॥
Those who are imbued with the Naam day and night are pure, while those who die to be reborn are impure. ||3||
ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਕਿਸੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਸਰੀਕੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥

अवरु न दीसै किसु सालाही तिसहि सरीकु न कोई ॥
I do not see any other like the Lord; who else should I praise? No one is equal to Him.

Alakh Apaar Aganm Agochar Naa This Kaal N Karamaa ||
अलख अपार अगम अगोचर ना तिसु कालु न करमा ॥
He is unknowable, infinite, unapproachable and imperceptible. He is not subject to death or karma.
ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤਿ ਅਜੋਨੀ ਸੰਭਉ ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਉ ਨ ਭਰਮਾ ॥੧॥
Jaath Ajaath Ajonee Sanbho Naa This Bhaao N Bharamaa ||1||
जाति अजाति अजोनी स्मभउ ना तिसु भाउ न भरमा ॥१॥
His caste is casteless; He is unborn, self-illumined, and free of doubt and desire. ||1||

साचे सचिआर विटहु कुरबाणु ॥
I am a sacrifice to the Truest of the True.
ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਰੂਪ ਵਰਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਰੇਖਿਆ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ना तिसु रूप वरनु नही रेखिआ साचै सबदि नीसाणु ॥ रहाउ ॥
He has no form, no color and no features; through the True Word of the Shabad, He reveals Himself. ||Pause||
ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਾਮੁ ਨ ਨਾਰੀ ॥

ना तिसु मात पिता सुत बंधप ना तिसु कामु न नारी ॥
He has no mother, father, sons or relatives; He is free of sexual desire; He has no wife.

अकुल निरंजन अपर पर्मपरु सगली जोति तुमारी ॥२॥
He has no ancestry; He is immaculate. He is infinite and endless; O Lord, Your Light is pervading all. ||2||
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਲੁਕਾਇਆ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਬਾਈ ॥
Ghatt Ghatt Anthar Breham Lukaaeiaa Ghatt Ghatt Joth Sabaaee ||
घट घट अंतरि ब्रहमु लुकाइआ घटि घटि जोति सबाई ॥
Deep within each and every heart, God is hidden; His Light is in each and every heart.
ਬਜਰ ਕਪਾਟ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਈ ॥੩॥
Bajar Kapaatt Mukathae Guramathee Nirabhai Thaarree Laaee ||3||
बजर कपाट मुकते गुरमती निरभै ताड़ी लाई ॥३॥
The heavy doors are opened by Guru's Instructions; one becomes fearless, in the trance of deep meditation. ||3||
ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਇ ਕਾਲੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਜੰਤਾ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਬਾਈ ॥
Janth Oupaae Kaal Sir Janthaa Vasagath Jugath Sabaaee ||
जंत उपाइ कालु सिरि जंता वसगति जुगति सबाई ॥
The Lord created all beings, and placed death over the heads of all; all the world is under His Power.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਈ ॥੪॥
Sathigur Saev Padhaarathh Paavehi Shhoottehi Sabadh Kamaaee ||4||
सतिगुरु सेवि पदारथु पावहि छूटहि सबदु कमाई ॥४॥
Serving the True Guru, the treasure is obtained; living the Word of the Shabad, one is emancipated. ||4||
ਸੂਚੈ ਭਾਡੈ ਸਾਚੁ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੂਚਾਚਾਰੀ ॥
Soochai Bhaaddai Saach Samaavai Viralae Soochaachaaree ||
सूचै भाडै साचु समावै विरले सूचाचारी ॥
In the pure vessel, the True Name is contained; how few are those who practice true conduct.
ਤੰਤੈ ਕਉ ਪਰਮ ਤੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੫॥੬॥
Thanthai Ko Param Thanth Milaaeiaa Naanak Saran Thumaaree ||5||6||
तंतै कउ परम तंतु मिलाइआ नानक सरणि तुमारी ॥५॥६॥
The individual soul is united with the Supreme Soul; Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary, Lord. ||5||6||

Jio Meenaa Bin Paaneeai Thio Saakath Marai Piaas ||
जिउ मीना बिनु पाणीऐ तिउ साकतु मरै पिआस ॥
Like a fish without water is the faithless cynic, who dies of thirst.
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਰੀਐ ਰੇ ਮਨਾ ਜੋ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਵੈ ਸਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
Thio Har Bin Mareeai Rae Manaa Jo Birathhaa Jaavai Saas ||1||
तिउ हरि बिनु मरीऐ रे मना जो बिरथा जावै सासु ॥१॥
So shall you die, O mind, without the Lord, as your breath goes in vain. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਜਸੁ ਲੇਇ ॥
Man Rae Raam Naam Jas Laee ||
मन रे राम नाम जसु लेइ ॥
O mind, chant the Lord's Name, and praise Him.
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਇਹੁ ਰਸੁ ਕਿਉ ਲਹਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Bin Gur Eihu Ras Kio Leho Gur Maelai Har Dhaee || Rehaao ||
बिनु गुर इहु रसु किउ लहउ गुरु मेलै हरि देइ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Without the Guru, how will you obtain this juice? The Guru shall unite you with the Lord. ||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲੁ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤੀਰਥੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
Santh Janaa Mil Sangathee Guramukh Theerathh Hoe ||
संत जना मिलु संगती गुरमुखि तीरथु होइ ॥
For the Gurmukh, meeting with the Society of the Saints is like making a pilgrimage to a sacred shrine.
ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਮਜਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
Athasath Theerathh Majanaa Gur Dharas Paraapath Hoe ||2||
अठसठि तीरथ मजना गुर दरसु परापति होइ ॥२॥
The benefit of bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage is obtained by the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan. ||2||
ਜਿਉ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਤ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਤਪੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ॥
Jio Jogee Jath Baaharaa Thap Naahee Sath Santhokh ||
जिउ जोगी जत बाहरा तपु नाही सतु संतोखु ॥
Like the Yogi without abstinence, and like penance without truth and contentment,
ਤਿਉ ਨਾਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਹੁਰੀ ਜਮੁ ਮਾਰੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਦੋਖੁ ॥੩॥
Thio Naamai Bin Dhaehuree Jam Maarai Anthar Dhokh ||3||
तिउ नामै बिनु देहुरी जमु मारै अंतरि दोखु ॥३॥
So is the body without the Lord's Name; death will slay it, because of the sin within. ||3||
ਸਾਕਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥
Saakath Praem N Paaeeai Har Paaeeai Sathigur Bhaae ||
साकत प्रेमु न पाईऐ हरि पाईऐ सतिगुर भाइ ॥
The faithless cynic does not obtain the Lord's Love; the Lord's Love is obtained only through the True Guru.
ਸੁਖ ਦੁਖ ਦਾਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੭॥
Sukh Dhukh Dhaathaa Gur Milai Kahu Naanak Sifath Samaae ||4||7||
सुख दुख दाता गुरु मिलै कहु नानक सिफति समाइ ॥४॥७॥
One who meets with the Guru, the Giver of pleasure and pain, says Nanak, is absorbed in the Lord's Praise. ||4||7||

तू प्रभ दाता दानि मति पूरा हम थारे भेखारी जीउ ॥
You, God, are the Giver of gifts, the Lord of perfect understanding; I am a mere beggar at Your Door.
ਮੈ ਕਿਆ ਮਾਗਉ ਕਿਛੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਨ ਰਹਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Mai Kiaa Maago Kishh Thhir N Rehaaee Har Dheejai Naam Piaaree Jeeo ||1||
मै किआ मागउ किछु थिरु न रहाई हरि दीजै नामु पिआरी जीउ ॥१॥
What should I beg for? Nothing remains permanent; O Lord, please, bless me with Your Beloved Name. ||1||
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥
Ghatt Ghatt Rav Rehiaa Banavaaree ||
घटि घटि रवि रहिआ बनवारी ॥
In each and every heart, the Lord, the Lord of the forest, is permeating and pervading.
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਗੁਪਤੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jal Thhal Meheeal Gupatho Varathai Gur Sabadhee Dhaekh Nihaaree Jeeo || Rehaao ||
जलि थलि महीअलि गुपतो वरतै गुर सबदी देखि निहारी जीउ ॥ रहाउ ॥
In the water, on the land, and in the sky, He is pervading but hidden; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, He is revealed. ||Pause||
ਮਰਤ ਪਇਆਲ ਅਕਾਸੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
Marath Paeiaal Akaas Dhikhaaeiou Gur Sathigur Kirapaa Dhhaaree Jeeo ||
मरत पइआल अकासु दिखाइओ गुरि सतिगुरि किरपा धारी जीउ ॥
In this world, in the nether regions of the underworld, and in the Akaashic Ethers, the Guru, the True Guru, has shown me the Lord; He has showered me with His Mercy.
ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਅਜੋਨੀ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਨੀ ਘਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਦੇਖੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
So Breham Ajonee Hai Bhee Honee Ghatt Bheethar Dhaekh Muraaree Jeeo ||2||
सो ब्रहमु अजोनी है भी होनी घट भीतरि देखु मुरारी जीउ ॥२॥
He is the unborn Lord God; He is, and shall ever be. Deep within your heart, behold Him, the Destroyer of ego. ||2||
