अकुल निरंजन पुरखु अगमु अपारीऐ ॥
He is without relatives, immaculate, all-powerful, unapproachable and infinite.
ਸਚੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਹਾਰੀਐ ॥
Sacho Sachaa Sach Sach Nihaareeai ||
सचो सचा सचु सचु निहारीऐ ॥
Truly, the True Lord is seen to be the Truest of the True.
ਕੂੜੁ ਨ ਜਾਪੈ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਧਾਰੀਐ ॥

कूड़ु न जापै किछु तेरी धारीऐ ॥
Nothing established by You appears to be false.

Sabhasai Dhae Dhaathaar Jaeth Oupaareeai ||
सभसै दे दातारु जेत उपारीऐ ॥
The Great Giver gives sustenance to all those He has created.
ਇਕਤੁ ਸੂਤਿ ਪਰੋਇ ਜੋਤਿ ਸੰਜਾਰੀਐ ॥

इकतु सूति परोइ जोति संजारीऐ ॥
He has strung all on only one thread; He has infused His Light in them.
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਭਵਜਲ ਮੰਝਿ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਤਾਰੀਐ ॥
Hukamae Bhavajal Manjh Hukamae Thaareeai ||
हुकमे भवजल मंझि हुकमे तारीऐ ॥
By His Will, some drown in the terrifying world-ocean, and by His Will, some are carried across.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਸੋਇ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਗੁ ਮਥਾਰੀਐ ॥
Prabh Jeeo Thudhh Dhhiaaeae Soe Jis Bhaag Mathhaareeai ||
प्रभ जीउ तुधु धिआए सोइ जिसु भागु मथारीऐ ॥
O Dear Lord, he alone meditates on You, upon whose forehead such blessed destiny is inscribed.

Jaa Thoon Thusehi Miharavaan Achinth Vasehi Man Maahi ||
जा तूं तुसहि मिहरवान अचिंतु वसहि मन माहि ॥
When You are pleased, O Merciful Lord, you automatically come to dwell within my mind.
ਜਾ ਤੂੰ ਤੁਸਹਿ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਹਿ ॥
Jaa Thoon Thusehi Miharavaan No Nidhh Ghar Mehi Paahi ||
जा तूं तुसहि मिहरवान नउ निधि घर महि पाहि ॥
When You are pleased, O Merciful Lord, I find the nine treasures within the home of my own self.

किती बैहन्हि बैहणे मुचु वजाइनि वज ॥
Many sit on thrones, to the sounds of musical instruments.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਣੁ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਰਹੀਆ ਲਜ ॥੨॥

तुधु धिआइन्हि बेद कतेबा सणु खड़े ॥
The followers of the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran, standing at Your Door, meditate on You.
ਗਣਤੀ ਗਣੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਤੇਰੈ ਦਰਿ ਪੜੇ ॥
Ganathee Ganee N Jaae Thaerai Dhar Parrae ||
गणती गणी न जाइ तेरै दरि पड़े ॥
Uncounted are those who fall at Your Door.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾਸਣਾ ॥
Brehamae Thudhh Dhhiaaeinih Eindhr Eindhraasanaa ||
ब्रहमे तुधु धिआइन्हि इंद्र इंद्रासणा ॥
Brahma meditates on You, as does Indra on his throne.
ਸੰਕਰ ਬਿਸਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਭਣਾ ॥
Sankar Bisan Avathaar Har Jas Mukh Bhanaa ||
संकर बिसन अवतार हरि जसु मुखि भणा ॥
Shiva and Vishnu, and their incarnations, chant the Lord's Praise with their mouths,
ਪੀਰ ਪਿਕਾਬਰ ਸੇਖ ਮਸਾਇਕ ਅਉਲੀਏ ॥
Peer Pikaabar Saekh Masaaeik Aouleeeae ||
पीर पिकाबर सेख मसाइक अउलीए ॥
As do the Pirs, the spiritual teachers, the prophets and the Shaykhs, the silent sages and the seers.
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਮਉਲੀਏ ॥
Outh Poth Nirankaar Ghatt Ghatt Mouleeeae ||
ओति पोति निरंकार घटि घटि मउलीए ॥
Through and through, the Formless Lord is woven into each and every heart.
ਕੂੜਹੁ ਕਰੇ ਵਿਣਾਸੁ ਧਰਮੇ ਤਗੀਐ ॥
Koorrahu Karae Vinaas Dhharamae Thageeai ||
कूड़हु करे विणासु धरमे तगीऐ ॥
One is destroyed through falsehood; through righteousness, one prospers.
ਜਿਤੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਗੀਐ ॥੨॥
Jith Jith Laaeihi Aap Thith Thith Lageeai ||2||
जितु जितु लाइहि आपि तितु तितु लगीऐ ॥२॥
Whatever the Lord links him to, to that he is linked. ||2||

Changiaaeanaee Aalak Karae Buriaaeanaee Hoe Saer ||
चंगिआईं आलकु करे बुरिआईं होइ सेरु ॥
He is reluctant to do good, but eager to practice evil.
ਨਾਨਕ ਅਜੁ ਕਲਿ ਆਵਸੀ ਗਾਫਲ ਫਾਹੀ ਪੇਰੁ ॥੧॥
Naanak Aj Kal Aavasee Gaafal Faahee Paer ||1||
नानक अजु कलि आवसी गाफल फाही पेरु ॥१॥
O Nanak, today or tomorrow, the feet of the careless fool shall fall into the trap. ||1||

ਕਿਤੀਆ ਕੁਢੰਗ ਗੁਝਾ ਥੀਐ ਨ ਹਿਤੁ ॥

कितीआ कुढंग गुझा थीऐ न हितु ॥
No matter how evil my ways are, still, Your Love for me is not concealed.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੈ ਸਹਿ ਢਕਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਚਾ ਮਿਤੁ ॥੨॥
Naanak Thai Sehi Dtakiaa Man Mehi Sachaa Mith ||2||
नानक तै सहि ढकिआ मन महि सचा मितु ॥२॥
Nanak: You, O Lord, conceal my short-comings and dwell within my mind; You are my true friend. ||2||

हउ मागउ तुझै दइआल करि दासा गोलिआ ॥
I beg of You, O Merciful Lord: please, make me the slave of Your slaves.
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਰਾਜੁ ਜੀਵਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ ॥
No Nidhh Paaee Raaj Jeevaa Boliaa ||
नउ निधि पाई राजु जीवा बोलिआ ॥
I obtain the nine treasures and royalty; chanting Your Name, I live.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਦਾਸਾ ਘਰਿ ਘਣਾ ॥
Anmrith Naam Nidhhaan Dhaasaa Ghar Ghanaa ||
अम्रित नामु निधानु दासा घरि घणा ॥
The great ambrosial treasure, the Nectar of the Naam, is in the home of the Lord's slaves.
ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਣਾ ॥
Thin Kai Sang Nihaal Sravanee Jas Sunaa ||
तिन कै संगि निहालु स्रवणी जसु सुणा ॥
In their company, I am in ecstasy, listening to Your Praises with my ears.
ਕਮਾਵਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
Kamaavaa Thin Kee Kaar Sareer Pavith Hoe ||
कमावा तिन की कार सरीरु पवितु होइ ॥
Serving them, my body is purified.
ਪਖਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਸਿ ਬਿਗਸਾ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਇ ॥
Pakhaa Paanee Pees Bigasaa Pair Dhhoe ||
पखा पाणी पीसि बिगसा पैर धोइ ॥
I wave the fans over them, and carry water for them; I grind the corn for them, and washing their feet, I am over-joyed.
ਆਪਹੁ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੀਐ ॥
Aapahu Kashhoo N Hoe Prabh Nadhar Nihaaleeai ||
आपहु कछू न होइ प्रभ नदरि निहालीऐ ॥
By myself, I can do nothing; O God, bless me with Your Glance of Grace.
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਦਿਚੈ ਥਾਉ ਸੰਤ ਧਰਮ ਸਾਲੀਐ ॥੩॥
Mohi Niragun Dhichai Thhaao Santh Dhharam Saaleeai ||3||
मोहि निरगुण दिचै थाउ संत धरम सालीऐ ॥३॥
I am worthless - please, bless me with a seat in the place of worship of the Saints. ||3||

साजन तेरे चरन की होइ रहा सद धूरि ॥
O Friend, I pray that I may remain forever the dust of Your Feet.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੀਆ ਪੇਖਉ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੧॥
Naanak Saran Thuhaareeaa Paekho Sadhaa Hajoor ||1||
नानक सरणि तुहारीआ पेखउ सदा हजूरि ॥१॥
Nanak has entered Your Sanctuary, and beholds You ever-present. ||1||

पतित पुनीत असंख होहि हरि चरणी मनु लाग ॥
Countless sinners become pure, by fixing their minds on the Feet of the Lord.
ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗ ॥੨॥
Athasath Theerathh Naam Prabh Jis Naanak Masathak Bhaag ||2||
अठसठि तीरथ नामु प्रभ जिसु नानक मसतकि भाग ॥२॥
The Name of God is the sixty-eight holy places of pilgrimage, O Nanak, for one who has such destiny written upon his forehead. ||2||

नित जपीऐ सासि गिरासि नाउ परवदिगार दा ॥
With every breath and morsel of food, chant the Name of the Lord, the Cherisher.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰੇ ਰਹੰਮ ਤਿਸੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਾਰਦਾ ॥
Jis No Karae Rehanm This N Visaaradhaa ||
जिस नो करे रहम तिसु न विसारदा ॥
The Lord does not forget one upon whom He has bestowed His Grace.
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਵਣਹਾਰ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ॥
Aap Oupaavanehaar Aapae Hee Maaradhaa ||
आपि उपावणहार आपे ही मारदा ॥
He Himself is the Creator, and He Himself destroys.
