ਮਾਈ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
Maaee Jo Prabh Kae Gun Gaavai ||
माई जो प्रभ के गुन गावै ॥
O mother, how fruitful is the birth of one who sings the Glories of God,
ਸਫਲ ਆਇਆ ਜੀਵਨ ਫਲੁ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Safal Aaeiaa Jeevan Fal Thaa Ko Paarabreham Liv Laavai ||1|| Rehaao ||
सफल आइआ जीवन फलु ता को पारब्रहम लिव लावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

ਸੁੰਦਰੁ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੂਰੁ ਸੋ ਬੇਤਾ ਜੋ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
Sundhar Sugharr Soor So Baethaa Jo Saadhhoo Sang Paavai ||
सुंदरु सुघड़ु सूरु सो बेता जो साधू संगु पावै ॥
Beautiful, wise, brave and divine is one who obtains the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਾਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜੋਨੀ ਧਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
Naam Ouchaar Karae Har Rasanaa Bahurr N Jonee Dhhaavai ||1||
नामु उचारु करे हरि रसना बहुड़ि न जोनी धावै ॥१॥
He chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, with his tongue, and does not have to wander in reincarnation again. ||1||

पूरन ब्रहमु रविआ मन तन महि आन न द्रिसटी आवै ॥
The Perfect Lord God pervades his mind and body; he does not look upon any other.

नरक रोग नही होवत जन संगि नानक जिसु लड़ि लावै ॥२॥१४॥
Hell and disease do not afflict one who joins the Company of the Lord's humble servants, O Nanak; the Lord attaches him to the hem of His robe. ||2||14||

चंचलु सुपनै ही उरझाइओ ॥
His fickle mind is entangled in a dream.
ਇਤਨੀ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਕਬਹੂ ਚਲਨਾ ਬਿਕਲ ਭਇਓ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

इतनी न बूझै कबहू चलना बिकल भइओ संगि माइओ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
He does not even understand this much, that someday he shall have to depart; he has gone crazy with Maya. ||1||Pause||
ਕੁਸਮ ਰੰਗ ਸੰਗ ਰਸਿ ਰਚਿਆ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਏਕ ਉਪਾਇਓ ॥
Kusam Rang Sang Ras Rachiaa Bikhiaa Eaek Oupaaeiou ||
कुसम रंग संग रसि रचिआ बिखिआ एक उपाइओ ॥
He is engrossed in the delight of the flower's color; he strives only to indulge in corruption.
ਲੋਭ ਸੁਨੈ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੈ ਬੇਗਿ ਤਹਾ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
Lobh Sunai Man Sukh Kar Maanai Baeg Thehaa Outh Dhhaaeiou ||1||
लोभ सुनै मनि सुखु करि मानै बेगि तहा उठि धाइओ ॥१॥
Hearing about greed, he feels happy in his mind, and he runs after it. ||1||
ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਸੰਤ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਆਇਓ ॥
Firath Firath Bahuth Sram Paaeiou Santh Dhuaarai Aaeiou ||
फिरत फिरत बहुतु स्रमु पाइओ संत दुआरै आइओ ॥
Wandering and roaming all around, I have endured great pain, but now, I have come to the door of the Saint.

ਪੂਜਾ ਅਰਚਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਬੰਦਨ ਇਹੈ ਟਹਲ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਰਨਾ ॥
Poojaa Arachaa Saevaa Bandhan Eihai Ttehal Mohi Karanaa ||
पूजा अरचा सेवा बंदन इहै टहल मोहि करना ॥
This is the labor which I perform: worship, flower-offerings, service and devotion.
ਬਿਗਸੈ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਗਰਭੈ ਪਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
Bigasai Man Hovai Paragaasaa Bahur N Garabhai Paranaa ||1||
बिगसै मनु होवै परगासा बहुरि न गरभै परना ॥१॥
My mind blossoms forth and is enlightened, and I am not cast into the womb again. ||1||
ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਪਰਸਉ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਇਹੈ ਧਿਆਨਾ ਧਰਨਾ ॥
Safal Moorath Paraso Santhan Kee Eihai Dhhiaanaa Dhharanaa ||
सफल मूरति परसउ संतन की इहै धिआना धरना ॥
I behold the fruitful vision of the Saint; this is the meditation I have taken.
ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪਰਿਓ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੨॥੧੬॥

भइओ क्रिपालु ठाकुरु नानक कउ परिओ साध की सरना ॥२॥१६॥
The Lord Master has become Merciful to Nanak, and he has entered the Sanctuary of the Holy. ||2||16||

अपुने हरि पहि बिनती कहीऐ ॥
Offer your prayer to your Lord.
ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਨਿਧਿ ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਸਿਧਿ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Chaar Padhaarathh Anadh Mangal Nidhh Sookh Sehaj Sidhh Leheeai ||1|| Rehaao ||
चारि पदारथ अनद मंगल निधि सूख सहज सिधि लहीऐ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
You shall obtain the four blessings, and the treasures of bliss, pleasure, peace, poise and the spiritual powers of the Siddhas. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਾਗਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਚਲੁ ਗਹੀਐ ॥
Maan Thiaag Har Charanee Laago This Prabh Anchal Geheeai ||
मानु तिआगि हरि चरनी लागउ तिसु प्रभ अंचलु गहीऐ ॥
Renounce your self-conceit, and grasp hold of the Guru's feet; hold tight to the hem of God's robe.
ਆਂਚ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੇ ਸਰਨਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀ ਅਹੀਐ ॥੧॥
Aaanch N Laagai Agan Saagar Thae Saran Suaamee Kee Aheeai ||1||
आंच न लागै अगनि सागर ते सरनि सुआमी की अहीऐ ॥१॥
The heat of the ocean of fire does not affect one who longs for the Lord and Master's Sanctuary. ||1||
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧ ਮਹਾ ਅਕ੍ਰਿਤਘਨ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਹੀਐ ॥
Kott Paraadhh Mehaa Akirathaghan Bahur Bahur Prabh Seheeai ||
कोटि पराध महा अक्रितघन बहुरि बहुरि प्रभ सहीऐ ॥
Again and again, God puts up with the millions of sins of the supremely ungrateful ones.
ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਨਹੀਐ ॥੨॥੧੭॥

करुणा मै पूरन परमेसुर नानक तिसु सरनहीऐ ॥२॥१७॥

Place the Guru's feet within your heart
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਉਤਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਕਲੇਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Rog Sog Sabh Dhookh Binaasae Outharae Sagal Kalaesaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
रोग सोग सभि दूख बिनासे उतरे सगल कलेसा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
And all illness, sorrow and pain shall be dispelled; all suffering shall come to an end. ||1||Pause||
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਮਜਨ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ॥
Janam Janam Kae Kilabikh Naasehi Kott Majan Eisanaanaa ||
जनम जनम के किलबिख नासहि कोटि मजन इसनाना ॥
The sins of countless incarnations are erased, as if one has taken purifying baths at millions of sacred shrines.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਗਾਵਤ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਲਾਗੋ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥੧॥
Naam Nidhhaan Gaavath Gun Gobindh Laago Sehaj Dhhiaanaa ||1||
नामु निधानु गावत गुण गोबिंद लागो सहजि धिआना ॥१॥
The treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is obtained by singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, and centering one's mind in meditation on Him. ||1||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋਰਿ ਨਿਰਾਰੇ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Apunaa Dhaas Keeno Bandhhan Thor Niraarae ||
करि किरपा अपुना दासु कीनो बंधन तोरि निरारे ॥
Showing His Mercy, the Lord has made me His slave; breaking my bonds, He has saved me.
