ਮੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਪੇਖਿਓ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਰੀ ਕੋਊ ॥
Mai Bahu Bidhh Paekhiou Dhoojaa Naahee Ree Kooo ||
मै बहु बिधि पेखिओ दूजा नाही री कोऊ ॥
I have looked in so many ways, but there is no other like the Lord.
ਖੰਡ ਦੀਪ ਸਭ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਲੋਊ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Khandd Dheep Sabh Bheethar Raviaa Poor Rehiou Sabh Looo ||1|| Rehaao ||
खंड दीप सभ भीतरि रविआ पूरि रहिओ सभ लोऊ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
On all the continents and islands, He is permeating and fully pervading; He is in all worlds. ||1||Pause||
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੰਮਾ ਕਵਨ ਮਹਿੰਮਾ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਸੋਊ ॥
Agam Aganmaa Kavan Mehinmaa Man Jeevai Sun Sooo ||
अगम अगमा कवन महिमा मनु जीवै सुनि सोऊ ॥
He is the most unfathomable of the unfathomable; who can chant His Praises? My mind lives by hearing news of Him.
ਚਾਰਿ ਆਸਰਮ ਚਾਰਿ ਬਰੰਨਾ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭਏ ਸੇਵਤੋਊ ॥੧॥
Chaar Aasaram Chaar Barannaa Mukath Bheae Saevathooo ||1||
चारि आसरम चारि बरंना मुकति भए सेवतोऊ ॥१॥
People in the four stages of life, and in the four social classes are liberated, by serving You, Lord. ||1||
ਗੁਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੁਤੀਅ ਗਏ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਊ ॥
Gur Sabadh Dhrirraaeiaa Param Padh Paaeiaa Dhutheea Geae Sukh Hooo ||
गुरि सबदु द्रिड़ाइआ परम पदु पाइआ दुतीअ गए सुख होऊ ॥
The Guru has implanted the Word of His Shabad within me; I have attained the supreme status. My sense of duality has been dispelled, and now, I am at peace.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਸਹਜੋਊ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੩॥

एकै रे हरि एकै जान ॥
Know that there is One and only One Lord.

Kaahae Bhramath Ho Thum Bhramahu N Bhaaee Raviaa Rae Raviaa Srab Thhaan ||1||
काहे भ्रमत हउ तुम भ्रमहु न भाई रविआ रे रविआ स्रब थान ॥१॥
Why are you wandering around? O Siblings of Destiny, don't wander around; He is permeating and pervading everywhere. ||1||
ਜਿਉ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਕਾਸਟ ਮਝਾਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੰਜਮ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਰਿ ॥
Jio Baisanthar Kaasatt Majhaar Bin Sanjam Nehee Kaaraj Saar ||
जिउ बैसंतरु कासट मझारि बिनु संजम नही कारज सारि ॥
As the fire in the forest, without control, cannot serve any purpose
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਨ ਪਾਵੈਗੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਕੋ ਦੁਆਰ ॥
Bin Gur N Paavaigo Har Jee Ko Dhuaar ||
बिनु गुर न पावैगो हरि जी को दुआर ॥
Just so, without the Guru, one cannot attain the Gate of the Lord.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਏ ਹੈ ਪਰਮ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੪॥
Mil Sangath Thaj Abhimaan Kahu Naanak Paaeae Hai Param Nidhhaan ||2||1||34||
मिलि संगति तजि अभिमान कहु नानक पाए है परम निधान ॥२॥१॥३४॥
Joining the Society of the Saints, renounce your ego; says Nanak, in this way, the supreme treasure is obtained. ||2||1||34||

जानी न जाई ता की गाति ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
His state cannot be known. ||1||Pause||
ਕਹ ਪੇਖਾਰਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਿ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਬਿਸਮਨ ਬਿਸਮੇ ਕਹਨ ਕਹਾਤਿ ॥੧॥
Keh Paekhaaro Ho Kar Chathuraaee Bisaman Bisamae Kehan Kehaath ||1||
कह पेखारउ हउ करि चतुराई बिसमन बिसमे कहन कहाति ॥१॥
How can I behold Him through clever tricks? Those who tell this story are wonder-struck and amazed. ||1||
ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਸਿਧ ਅਰੁ ਸਾਧਿਕ ॥
Gan Gandhharab Sidhh Ar Saadhhik ||
गण गंधरब सिध अरु साधिक ॥
The servants of God, the celestial singers, the Siddhas and the seekers,
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦੇਵ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿਕ ॥
Sur Nar Dhaev Breham Brehamaadhik ||
सुरि नर देव ब्रहम ब्रहमादिक ॥
The angelic and divine beings, Brahma and those like Brahma,
ਚਤੁਰ ਬੇਦ ਉਚਰਤ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
Chathur Baedh Oucharath Dhin Raath ||
चतुर बेद उचरत दिनु राति ॥
And the four Vedas proclaim, day and night,
ਅਗਮ ਅਗਮ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਗਾਧਿ ॥
Agam Agam Thaakur Aagaadhh ||
अगम अगम ठाकुरु आगाधि ॥
That the Lord and Master is inaccessible, unapproachable and unfathomable.
ਗੁਨ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਭਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਪਰੈ ਪਰਾਤਿ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੫॥
Gun Baeanth Baeanth Bhan Naanak Kehan N Jaaee Parai Paraath ||2||2||35||
गुन बेअंत बेअंत भनु नानक कहनु न जाई परै पराति ॥२॥२॥३५॥
Endless, endless are His Glories, says Nanak; they cannot be described - they are beyond our reach. ||2||2||35||

I meditate, and sing of the Creator Lord.
ਭਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਅਨਿਕ ਓਹੀ ਰੇ ਏਕ ਸਮਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

भउ नाही सुख सहज अनंदा अनिक ओही रे एक समार ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I have become fearless, and I have found peace, poise and bliss, remembering the infinite Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਾਥੈ ॥

सफल मूरति गुरु मेरै माथै ॥
The Guru, of the most fruitful image, has placed His hand upon my forehead.
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਤਤ ਸਾਥੈ ॥
Jath Kath Paekho Thath Thath Saathhai ||
जत कत पेखउ तत तत साथै ॥
Wherever I look, there, I find Him with me.

चरन कमल मेरे प्रान अधार ॥१॥
The Lotus Feet of the Lord are the Support of my very breath of life. ||1||

समरथ अथाह बडा प्रभु मेरा ॥
My God is all-powerful, unfathomable and utterly vast.
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਨੇਰਾ ॥
Ghatt Ghatt Anthar Saahib Naeraa ||
घट घट अंतरि साहिबु नेरा ॥
The Lord and Master is close at hand - He dwells in each and every heart.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਆਸਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੬॥

ता की सरनि आसर प्रभ नानक जा का अंतु न पारावार ॥२॥३॥३६॥

उलटी रे मन उलटी रे ॥
Turn away, O my mind, turn away.
ਸਾਕਤ ਸਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਉਲਟੀ ਰੇ ॥
Saakath Sio Kar Oulattee Rae ||
साकत सिउ करि उलटी रे ॥
Turn away from the faithless cynic.
ਝੂਠੈ ਕੀ ਰੇ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਰੀਤਿ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਰੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jhoothai Kee Rae Jhooth Pareeth Shhuttakee Rae Man Shhuttakee Rae Saakath Sang N Shhuttakee Rae ||1|| Rehaao ||
झूठै की रे झूठु परीति छुटकी रे मन छुटकी रे साकत संगि न छुटकी रे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
False is the love of the false one; break the ties, O my mind, and your ties shall be broken. Break your ties with the faithless cynic. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਉ ਕਾਜਰ ਭਰਿ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਜੋ ਪੈਸੈ ਕਾਲੂਖੀ ਰੇ ॥
Jio Kaajar Bhar Mandhar Raakhiou Jo Paisai Kaalookhee Rae ||
जिउ काजर भरि मंदरु राखिओ जो पैसै कालूखी रे ॥
One who enters a house filled with soot is blackened.
ਦੂਰਹੁ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਭਾਗਿ ਗਇਓ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
Dhoorahu Hee Thae Bhaag Gaeiou Hai Jis Gur Mil Shhuttakee Thrikuttee Rae ||1||
दूरहु ही ते भागि गइओ है जिसु गुर मिलि छुटकी त्रिकुटी रे ॥१॥
Run far away from such people! One who meets the Guru escapes from the bondage of the three dispositions. ||1||
ਮਾਗਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਸਾਕਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਜੁਟਸੀ ਰੇ ॥

मागउ दानु क्रिपाल क्रिपा निधि मेरा मुखु साकत संगि न जुटसी रे ॥
