ਜੋ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
Jo Anthar So Baahar Dhaekhahu Avar N Dhoojaa Koee Jeeo ||
जो अंतरि सो बाहरि देखहु अवरु न दूजा कोई जीउ ॥
He is within - see Him outside as well; there is no one, other than Him.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Guramukh Eaek Dhrisatt Kar Dhaekhahu Ghatt Ghatt Joth Samoee Jeeo ||2||
गुरमुखि एक द्रिसटि करि देखहु घटि घटि जोति समोई जीउ ॥२॥
As Gurmukh, look upon all with the single eye of equality; in each and every heart, the Divine Light is contained. ||2||
ਚਲਤੌ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਖਹੁ ਘਰਿ ਅਪਨੈ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਇਹ ਮਤਿ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
Chalatha Thaak Rakhahu Ghar Apanai Gur Miliai Eih Math Hoee Jeeo ||
चलतौ ठाकि रखहु घरि अपनै गुर मिलिऐ इह मति होई जीउ ॥
Restrain your fickle mind, and keep it steady within its own home; meeting the Guru, this understanding is obtained.
ਦੇਖਿ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੁ ਰਹਉ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Dhaekh Adhrisatt Reho Bisamaadhee Dhukh Bisarai Sukh Hoee Jeeo ||3||
देखि अद्रिसटु रहउ बिसमादी दुखु बिसरै सुखु होई जीउ ॥३॥
Seeing the unseen Lord, you shall be amazed and delighted; forgetting your pain, you shall be at peace. ||3||
ਪੀਵਹੁ ਅਪਿਉ ਪਰਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
Peevahu Apio Param Sukh Paaeeai Nij Ghar Vaasaa Hoee Jeeo ||
पीवहु अपिउ परम सुखु पाईऐ निज घरि वासा होई जीउ ॥
Drinking in the ambrosial nectar, you shall attain the highest bliss, and dwell within the home of your own self.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਭਵ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥
Janam Maran Bhav Bhanjan Gaaeeai Punarap Janam N Hoee Jeeo ||4||
जनम मरण भव भंजनु गाईऐ पुनरपि जनमु न होई जीउ ॥४॥
So sing the Praises of the Lord, the Destroyer of the fear of birth and death, and you shall not be reincarnated again. ||4||
ਤਤੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਬਾਈ ਸੋਹੰ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
Thath Niranjan Joth Sabaaee Sohan Bhaedh N Koee Jeeo ||
ततु निरंजनु जोति सबाई सोहं भेदु न कोई जीउ ॥
The essence, the immaculate Lord, the Light of all - I am He and He is me - there is no difference between us.
ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥੧੧॥

अपर्मपर पारब्रहमु परमेसरु नानक गुरु मिलिआ सोई जीउ ॥५॥११॥

Sorat'h, First Mehl, Third House:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵਾ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਗਾਵਾ ॥
Jaa This Bhaavaa Thadh Hee Gaavaa ||
जा तिसु भावा तद ही गावा ॥
When I am pleasing to Him, then I sing His Praises.
ਤਾ ਗਾਵੇ ਕਾ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
Thaa Gaavae Kaa Fal Paavaa ||
ता गावे का फलु पावा ॥
Singing His Praises, I receive the fruits of my rewards.
ਗਾਵੇ ਕਾ ਫਲੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
Gaavae Kaa Fal Hoee ||
गावे का फलु होई ॥
The rewards of singing His Praises
ਜਾ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥
Jaa Aapae Dhaevai Soee ||1||
जा आपे देवै सोई ॥१॥
Are obtained when He Himself gives them. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
Man Maerae Gur Bachanee Nidhh Paaee ||
मन मेरे गुर बचनी निधि पाई ॥
O my mind, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the treasure is obtained;
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸਚ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Thaa Thae Sach Mehi Rehiaa Samaaee || Rehaao ||
ता ते सच महि रहिआ समाई ॥ रहाउ ॥
This is why I remain immersed in the True Name. ||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਸਾਖੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਗੀ ॥
Gur Saakhee Anthar Jaagee ||
गुर साखी अंतरि जागी ॥
When I awoke within myself to the Guru's Teachings,
ਤਾ ਚੰਚਲ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥
Thaa Chanchal Math Thiaagee ||
ता चंचल मति तिआगी ॥
Then I renounced my fickle intellect.
ਗੁਰ ਸਾਖੀ ਕਾ ਉਜੀਆਰਾ ॥
Gur Saakhee Kaa Oujeeaaraa ||
गुर साखी का उजीआरा ॥
When the Light of the Guru's Teachings dawned,
ਤਾ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਅੰਧ੍ਯ੍ਯਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
Thaa Mittiaa Sagal Andhhyaaraa ||2||
ता मिटिआ सगल अंध्यारा ॥२॥
And then all darkness was dispelled. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
Gur Charanee Man Laagaa ||
गुर चरनी मनु लागा ॥
When the mind is attached to the Guru's Feet,
ਤਾ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਭਾਗਾ ॥
Thaa Jam Kaa Maarag Bhaagaa ||
ता जम का मारगु भागा ॥
Then the Path of Death recedes.
ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Bhai Vich Nirabho Paaeiaa ||
भै विचि निरभउ पाइआ ॥
Through the Fear of God, one attains the Fearless Lord;
ਤਾ ਸਹਜੈ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੩॥
Thaa Sehajai Kai Ghar Aaeiaa ||3||
ता सहजै कै घरि आइआ ॥३॥
Then, one enters the home of celestial bliss. ||3||
ਭਣਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
Bhanath Naanak Boojhai Ko Beechaaree ||
भणति नानकु बूझै को बीचारी ॥
Prays Nanak, how rare are those who reflect and understand,
ਇਸੁ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
Eis Jag Mehi Karanee Saaree ||
इसु जग महि करणी सारी ॥
The most sublime action in this world.
ਕਰਣੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥
Karanee Keerath Hoee ||
करणी कीरति होई ॥
The noblest deed is to sing the Lord's Praises,
ਜਾ ਆਪੇ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੨॥
Jaa Aapae Miliaa Soee ||4||1||12||
जा आपे मिलिआ सोई ॥४॥१॥१२॥
And so meet the Lord Himself. ||4||1||12||

सेवक सेव करहि सभि तेरी जिन सबदै सादु आइआ ॥
All of Your servants, who relish the Word of Your Shabad, serve You.
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
Gur Kirapaa Thae Niramal Hoaa Jin Vichahu Aap Gavaaeiaa ||
गुर किरपा ते निरमलु होआ जिनि विचहु आपु गवाइआ ॥
By Guru's Grace, they become pure, eradicating self-conceit from within.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
Anadhin Gun Gaavehi Nith Saachae Gur Kai Sabadh Suhaaeiaa ||1||
अनदिनु गुण गावहि नित साचे गुर कै सबदि सुहाइआ ॥१॥
Night and day, they continually sing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord; they are adorned with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
Maerae Thaakur Ham Baarik Saran Thumaaree ||
मेरे ठाकुर हम बारिक सरणि तुमारी ॥
O my Lord and Master, I am Your child; I seek Your Sanctuary.
ਏਕੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਤੂ ਕੇਵਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Eaeko Sachaa Sach Thoo Kaeval Aap Muraaree || Rehaao ||
एको सचा सचु तू केवलु आपि मुरारी ॥ रहाउ ॥
You are the One and Only Lord, the Truest of the True; You Yourself are the Destroyer of ego. ||Pause||
ਜਾਗਤ ਰਹੇ ਤਿਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਬਦੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥
Jaagath Rehae Thinee Prabh Paaeiaa Sabadhae Houmai Maaree ||
जागत रहे तिनी प्रभु पाइआ सबदे हउमै मारी ॥
Those who remain wakeful obtain God; through the Word of the Shabad, they conquer their ego.
ਗਿਰਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਤਤ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
Girehee Mehi Sadhaa Har Jan Oudhaasee Giaan Thath Beechaaree ||
गिरही महि सदा हरि जन उदासी गिआन तत बीचारी ॥
Immersed in family life, the Lord's humble servant ever remains detached; he reflects upon the essence of spiritual wisdom.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
Sathigur Saev Sadhaa Sukh Paaeiaa Har Raakhiaa Our Dhhaaree ||2||
सतिगुरु सेवि सदा सुखु पाइआ हरि राखिआ उर धारी ॥२॥
Serving the True Guru, he finds eternal peace, and he keeps the Lord enshrined in his heart. ||2||
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਧਾਵਦਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਇਆ ॥
Eihu Manooaa Dheh Dhis Dhhaavadhaa Dhoojai Bhaae Khuaaeiaa ||
इहु मनूआ दह दिसि धावदा दूजै भाइ खुआइआ ॥
This mind wanders in the ten directions; it is consumed by the love of duality.
