माई सुनत सोच भै डरत ॥
O mother, I hear of death, and think of it, and I am filled with fear.
ਮੇਰ ਤੇਰ ਤਜਉ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਾ ਸਰਨਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀ ਪਰਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

मेर तेर तजउ अभिमाना सरनि सुआमी की परत ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Renouncing 'mine and yours' and egotism, I have sought the Sanctuary of the Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਉ ਨਾਹਿ ਨ ਕਾ ਬੋਲ ਕਰਤ ॥
Jo Jo Kehai Soee Bhal Maano Naahi N Kaa Bol Karath ||
जो जो कहै सोई भल मानउ नाहि न का बोल करत ॥
Whatever He says, I accept that as good. I do not say ""No"" to what He says.
ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਬਿਸਰਉ ਹੀਏ ਮੋਰੇ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਜਾਈ ਹਉ ਮਰਤ ॥੧॥

निमख न बिसरउ हीए मोरे ते बिसरत जाई हउ मरत ॥१॥
Let me not forget Him, even for an instant; forgetting Him, I die. ||1||

सुखदाई पूरन प्रभु करता मेरी बहुतु इआनप जरत ॥
The Giver of peace, God, the Perfect Creator, endures my great ignorance.

O my mind, chant forever the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises.
ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਜਪਤ ਉਧਾਰੈ ਬਰਨ ਅਬਰਨਾ ਸਭਹੂੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gaavath Sunath Japath Oudhhaarai Baran Abaranaa Sabhehoon ||1|| Rehaao ||
गावत सुनत जपत उधारै बरन अबरना सभहूं ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
By singing, hearing and meditating on Him, all, whether of high or low status, are saved. ||1||Pause||
ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਤਹੀ ਸਮਾਇਓ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਨੀ ਤਬਹੂੰ ॥
Jeh Thae Oupajiou Thehee Samaaeiou Eih Bidhh Jaanee Thabehoon ||
जह ते उपजिओ तही समाइओ इह बिधि जानी तबहूं ॥
He is absorbed into the One from which he originated, when he understands the Way.
ਜਹਾ ਜਹਾ ਇਹ ਦੇਹੀ ਧਾਰੀ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਕਬਹੂੰ ॥੧॥
Jehaa Jehaa Eih Dhaehee Dhhaaree Rehan N Paaeiou Kabehoon ||1||
जहा जहा इह देही धारी रहनु न पाइओ कबहूं ॥१॥
Wherever this body was fashioned, it was not allowed to remain there. ||1||
ਸੁਖੁ ਆਇਓ ਭੈ ਭਰਮ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਹੂਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਬਹੂ ॥
Sukh Aaeiou Bhai Bharam Binaasae Kirapaal Hooeae Prabh Jabehoo ||
सुखु आइओ भै भरम बिनासे क्रिपाल हूए प्रभ जबहू ॥
Peace comes, and fear and doubt are dispelled, when God becomes Merciful.

ਨੀਚਹੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਅਤਿ ਨਾਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇ ਗਰੀਬੁ ਬੁਲਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

नीचहु नीचु नीचु अति नान्हा होइ गरीबु बुलावउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Become the lowest of the low, the very least of the tiny, and speak in utmost humility. ||1||Pause||

अनिक अड्मबर माइआ के बिरथे ता सिउ प्रीति घटावउ ॥
The many ostentatious shows of Maya are useless; I withhold my love from these.
ਜਿਉ ਅਪੁਨੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੧॥
Jio Apuno Suaamee Sukh Maanai Thaa Mehi Sobhaa Paavo ||1||
जिउ अपुनो सुआमी सुखु मानै ता महि सोभा पावउ ॥१॥
As something pleases my Lord and Master, in that I find my glory. ||1||
ਦਾਸਨ ਦਾਸ ਰੇਣੁ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੀ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਕਮਾਵਉ ॥
Dhaasan Dhaas Raen Dhaasan Kee Jan Kee Ttehal Kamaavo ||
दासन दास रेणु दासन की जन की टहल कमावउ ॥
I am the slave of His slaves; becoming the dust of the feet of his slaves, I serve His humble servants.
ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਬਡਿਆਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵਉ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਬੁਲਾਵਉ ॥੨॥੫॥

सरब सूख बडिआई नानक जीवउ मुखहु बुलावउ ॥२॥५॥
I obtain all peace and greatness, O Nanak, living to chant His Name with my mouth. ||2||5||

Dear God, by Your Grace, my doubts have been dispelled.

कोटि पराध मिटे तेरी सेवा दरसनि दूखु उतारिओ ॥
Millions of sins are erased, by serving You; the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan drives away sorrow.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥

नामु जपत महा सुखु पाइओ चिंता रोगु बिदारिओ ॥१॥
Chanting Your Name, I have obtained supreme peace, and my anxieties and diseases have been cast out. ||1||
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਿਸਾਰਿਓ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Lobh Jhooth Nindhaa Saadhhoo Sang Bisaariou ||
कामु क्रोधु लोभु झूठु निंदा साधू संगि बिसारिओ ॥
Sexual desire, anger, greed, falsehood and slander are forgotten, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਮਾਇਆ ਬੰਧ ਕਾਟੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਉਧਾਰਿਓ ॥੨॥੬॥

माइआ बंध काटे किरपा निधि नानक आपि उधारिओ ॥२॥६॥
The ocean of mercy has cut away the bonds of Maya; O Nanak, He has saved me. ||2||6||

प्रभ की आगिआ मानि सुखु पाइआ भरमु अधेरा लही ॥१॥
Surrendering to the Will of God, I attain peace, and the darkness of doubt is dispelled. ||1||

जान प्रबीन सुआमी प्रभ मेरे सरणि तुमारी अही ॥
I know that You are all-wise, O God, my Lord and Master; I seek Your Sanctuary.
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰੇ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਪਹੀ ॥੨॥੭॥
Khin Mehi Thhaap Outhhaapanehaarae Kudharath Keem N Pehee ||2||7||
खिन महि थापि उथापनहारे कुदरति कीम न पही ॥२॥७॥
In an instant, You establish and disestablish; the value of Your Almighty Creative Power cannot be estimated. ||2||7||

The Lord God is my praanaa, my breath of life; He is the Giver of peace.

संत तुमारे तुमरे प्रीतम तिन कउ काल न खाते ॥
Your Saints are Your Beloveds; death does not consume them.
ਰੰਗਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ ਲਾਲ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਮਾਤੇ ॥੧॥
Rang Thumaarai Laal Bheae Hai Raam Naam Ras Maathae ||1||
रंगि तुमारै लाल भए है राम नाम रसि माते ॥१॥
They are dyed in the deep crimson color of Your Love, and they are intoxicated with the sublime essence of the Lord's Name. ||1||
