Santh Kaa Nindhak Khin Ttikan N Paaee ||
संत का निंदकु खिनु टिकनु न पाई ॥
The slanderer of the Saint has not even a moment's rest.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਮਹਾ ਹਤਿਆਰਾ ॥
Santh Kaa Nindhak Mehaa Hathiaaraa ||
संत का निंदकु महा हतिआरा ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is a brutal butcher.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰਿ ਮਾਰਾ ॥
Santh Kaa Nindhak Paramaesur Maaraa ||
संत का निंदकु परमेसुरि मारा ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is cursed by the Transcendent Lord.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਹੀਨੁ ॥
Santh Kaa Nindhak Raaj Thae Heen ||
संत का निंदकु राज ते हीनु ॥
The slanderer of the Saint has no kingdom.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਦੁਖੀਆ ਅਰੁ ਦੀਨੁ ॥
Santh Kaa Nindhak Dhukheeaa Ar Dheen ||
संत का निंदकु दुखीआ अरु दीनु ॥
The slanderer of the Saint becomes miserable and poor.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ ਸਰਬ ਰੋਗ ॥
Santh Kae Nindhak Ko Sarab Rog ||
संत के निंदक कउ सरब रोग ॥
The slanderer of the Saint contracts all diseases.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਬਿਜੋਗ ॥
Santh Kae Nindhak Ko Sadhaa Bijog ||
संत के निंदक कउ सदा बिजोग ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is forever separated.
ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੋਖ ਮਹਿ ਦੋਖੁ ॥
Santh Kee Nindhaa Dhokh Mehi Dhokh ||
संत की निंदा दोख महि दोखु ॥
To slander a Saint is the worst sin of sins.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਉਸ ਕਾ ਭੀ ਹੋਇ ਮੋਖੁ ॥੩॥

The slanderer of the Saint is forever impure.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਨਹੀ ਮਿਤੁ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Kisai Kaa Nehee Mith ||
संत का दोखी किसै का नही मितु ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is nobody's friend.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਡਾਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
Santh Kae Dhokhee Ko Ddaan Laagai ||
संत के दोखी कउ डानु लागै ॥
The slanderer of the Saint shall be punished.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗੈ ॥
Santh Kae Dhokhee Ko Sabh Thiaagai ||
संत के दोखी कउ सभ तिआगै ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is abandoned by all.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਮਹਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Mehaa Ahankaaree ||
संत का दोखी महा अहंकारी ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is totally egocentric.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦਾ ਬਿਕਾਰੀ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Sadhaa Bikaaree ||
संत का दोखी सदा बिकारी ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is forever corrupt.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਜਨਮੈ ਮਰੈ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Janamai Marai ||
संत का दोखी जनमै मरै ॥
The slanderer of the Saint must endure birth and death.
ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਦੂਖਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਤੇ ਟਰੈ ॥
Santh Kee Dhookhanaa Sukh Thae Ttarai ||
संत की दूखना सुख ते टरै ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is devoid of peace.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥
Santh Kae Dhokhee Ko Naahee Thaao ||
संत के दोखी कउ नाही ठाउ ॥
The slanderer of the Saint has no place of rest.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੪॥

नानक संत भावै ता लए मिलाइ ॥४॥
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even such a one may merge in union. ||4||

संत का दोखी अध बीच ते टूटै ॥
The slanderer of the Saint breaks down mid-way.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਿਤੈ ਕਾਜਿ ਨ ਪਹੂਚੈ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Kithai Kaaj N Pehoochai ||
संत का दोखी कितै काजि न पहूचै ॥
The slanderer of the Saint cannot accomplish his tasks.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਉਦਿਆਨ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਈਐ ॥
Santh Kae Dhokhee Ko Oudhiaan Bhramaaeeai ||
संत के दोखी कउ उदिआन भ्रमाईऐ ॥
The slanderer of the Saint wanders in the wilderness.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਉਝੜਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Oujharr Paaeeai ||
संत का दोखी उझड़ि पाईऐ ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is misled into desolation.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਅੰਤਰ ਤੇ ਥੋਥਾ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Anthar Thae Thhothhaa ||
संत का दोखी अंतर ते थोथा ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is empty inside,
ਜਿਉ ਸਾਸ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਕੀ ਲੋਥਾ ॥
Jio Saas Binaa Mirathak Kee Lothhaa ||
जिउ सास बिना मिरतक की लोथा ॥
Like the corpse of a dead man, without the breath of life.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕੀ ਜੜ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
Santh Kae Dhokhee Kee Jarr Kishh Naahi ||
संत के दोखी की जड़ किछु नाहि ॥
The slanderer of the Saint has no heritage at all.
ਆਪਨ ਬੀਜਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਖਾਹਿ ॥
Aapan Beej Aapae Hee Khaahi ||
आपन बीजि आपे ही खाहि ॥
He himself must eat what he has planted.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੁ ॥
Santh Kae Dhokhee Ko Avar N Raakhanehaar ||
संत के दोखी कउ अवरु न राखनहारु ॥
The slanderer of the Saint cannot be saved by anyone else.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਲਏ ਉਬਾਰਿ ॥੫॥

नानक संत भावै ता लए उबारि ॥५॥
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even he may be saved. ||5||

संत का दोखी इउ बिललाइ ॥
The slanderer of the Saint bewails like this
ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਤੜਫੜਾਇ ॥
Jio Jal Bihoon Mashhulee Tharrafarraae ||
जिउ जल बिहून मछुली तड़फड़ाइ ॥
Like a fish, out of water, writhing in agony.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਭੂਖਾ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਜੈ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Bhookhaa Nehee Raajai ||
संत का दोखी भूखा नही राजै ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is hungry and is never satisfied,
ਜਿਉ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਈਧਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ॥
Jio Paavak Eedhhan Nehee Dhhraapai ||
जिउ पावकु ईधनि नही ध्रापै ॥
As fire is not satisfied by fuel.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਛੁਟੈ ਇਕੇਲਾ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Shhuttai Eikaelaa ||
संत का दोखी छुटै इकेला ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is left all alone,
ਜਿਉ ਬੂਆੜੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਖੇਤ ਮਾਹਿ ਦੁਹੇਲਾ ॥
Jio Booaarr Thil Khaeth Maahi Dhuhaelaa ||
जिउ बूआड़ु तिलु खेत माहि दुहेला ॥
Like the miserable barren sesame stalk abandoned in the field.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਧਰਮ ਤੇ ਰਹਤ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Dhharam Thae Rehath ||
संत का दोखी धरम ते रहत ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is devoid of faith.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਕਹਤ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Sadh Mithhiaa Kehath ||
संत का दोखी सद मिथिआ कहत ॥
The slanderer of the Saint constantly lies.
ਕਿਰਤੁ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਧੁਰਿ ਹੀ ਪਇਆ ॥
Kirath Nindhak Kaa Dhhur Hee Paeiaa ||
किरतु निंदक का धुरि ही पइआ ॥
The fate of the slanderer is pre-ordained from the very beginning of time.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਥਿਆ ॥੬॥
Naanak Jo This Bhaavai Soee Thhiaa ||6||
नानक जो तिसु भावै सोई थिआ ॥६॥
O Nanak, whatever pleases God's Will comes to pass. ||6||
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਬਿਗੜ ਰੂਪੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਇ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Bigarr Roop Hoe Jaae ||
संत का दोखी बिगड़ रूपु होइ जाइ ॥
The slanderer of the Saint becomes deformed.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥
Santh Kae Dhokhee Ko Dharageh Milai Sajaae ||
संत के दोखी कउ दरगह मिलै सजाइ ॥
The slanderer of the Saint receives his punishment in the Court of the Lord.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਕਾਈਐ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Sadhaa Sehakaaeeai ||
संत का दोखी सदा सहकाईऐ ॥
The slanderer of the Saint is eternally in limbo.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜੀਵਾਈਐ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee N Marai N Jeevaaeeai ||
संत का दोखी न मरै न जीवाईऐ ॥
He does not die, but he does not live either.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕੀ ਪੁਜੈ ਨ ਆਸਾ ॥

संत के दोखी की पुजै न आसा ॥
The hopes of the slanderer of the Saint are not fulfilled.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੈ ਨਿਰਾਸਾ ॥
Santh Kaa Dhokhee Outh Chalai Niraasaa ||
संत का दोखी उठि चलै निरासा ॥
The slanderer of the Saint departs disappointed.
ਸੰਤ ਕੈ ਦੋਖਿ ਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
Santh Kai Dhokh N Thrisattai Koe ||
संत कै दोखि न त्रिसटै कोइ ॥
Slandering the Saint, no one attains satisfaction.
ਜੈਸਾ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੈਸਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਇ ॥
Jaisaa Bhaavai Thaisaa Koee Hoe ||
जैसा भावै तैसा कोई होइ ॥
As it pleases the Lord, so do people become;
ਪਇਆ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
Paeiaa Kirath N Maettai Koe ||
पइआ किरतु न मेटै कोइ ॥
No one can erase their past actions.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਨੈ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੭॥
Naanak Jaanai Sachaa Soe ||7||
नानक जानै सचा सोइ ॥७॥
O Nanak, the True Lord alone knows all. ||7||
ਸਭ ਘਟ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਓਹੁ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ ॥
Sabh Ghatt This Kae Ouhu Karanaihaar ||
सभ घट तिस के ओहु करनैहारु ॥
All hearts are His; He is the Creator.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa This Ko Namasakaar ||
सदा सदा तिस कउ नमसकारु ॥
Forever and ever, I bow to Him in reverence.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
Prabh Kee Ousathath Karahu Dhin Raath ||
प्रभ की उसतति करहु दिनु राति ॥
Praise God, day and night.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ॥
Thisehi Dhhiaavahu Saas Giraas ||
तिसहि धिआवहु सासि गिरासि ॥
Meditate on Him with every breath and morsel of food.
ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ॥
Sabh Kashh Varathai This Kaa Keeaa ||
सभु कछु वरतै तिस का कीआ ॥
Everything happens as He wills.
ਜੈਸਾ ਕਰੇ ਤੈਸਾ ਕੋ ਥੀਆ ॥
Jaisaa Karae Thaisaa Ko Thheeaa ||
जैसा करे तैसा को थीआ ॥
As He wills, so people become.
ਅਪਨਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ ॥
Apanaa Khael Aap Karanaihaar ||
अपना खेलु आपि करनैहारु ॥
He Himself is the play, and He Himself is the actor.
ਦੂਸਰ ਕਉਨੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
Dhoosar Koun Kehai Beechaar ||
दूसर कउनु कहै बीचारु ॥
