ਬਨਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਰਬਤਿ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ॥
Ban Thin Parabath Hai Paarabreham ||
बनि तिनि परबति है पारब्रहमु ॥
In the forests, fields and mountains, He is the Supreme Lord God.
ਜੈਸੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਤੈਸਾ ਕਰਮੁ ॥
Jaisee Aagiaa Thaisaa Karam ||
जैसी आगिआ तैसा करमु ॥
As He orders, so do His creatures act.
ਪਉਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
Poun Paanee Baisanthar Maahi ||
पउण पाणी बैसंतर माहि ॥
He permeates the winds and the waters.
ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸੇ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
Chaar Kuntt Dheh Dhisae Samaahi ||
चारि कुंट दह दिसे समाहि ॥
He is pervading in the four corners and in the ten directions.
ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਭਿੰਨ ਨਹੀ ਕੋ ਠਾਉ ॥
This Thae Bhinn Nehee Ko Thaao ||
तिस ते भिंन नही को ठाउ ॥
Without Him, there is no place at all.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਉ ॥੨॥
Gur Prasaadh Naanak Sukh Paao ||2||
गुर प्रसादि नानक सुखु पाउ ॥२॥
By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, peace is obtained. ||2||
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਦੇਖੁ ॥
Baedh Puraan Sinmrith Mehi Dhaekh ||
बेद पुरान सिम्रिति महि देखु ॥
See Him in the Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees.
ਸਸੀਅਰ ਸੂਰ ਨਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ॥
Saseear Soor Nakhyathr Mehi Eaek ||
ससीअर सूर नख्यत्र महि एकु ॥
In the moon, the sun and the stars, He is the One.
ਬਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਬੋਲੈ ॥
Baanee Prabh Kee Sabh Ko Bolai ||
बाणी प्रभ की सभु को बोलै ॥
The Bani of God's Word is spoken by everyone.
ਆਪਿ ਅਡੋਲੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਡੋਲੈ ॥
Aap Addol N Kabehoo Ddolai ||
आपि अडोलु न कबहू डोलै ॥
He Himself is unwavering - He never wavers.
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਖੇਲੈ ਖੇਲ ॥
Sarab Kalaa Kar Khaelai Khael ||
सरब कला करि खेलै खेल ॥
With absolute power, He plays His play.
ਮੋਲਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਣਹ ਅਮੋਲ ॥
Mol N Paaeeai Guneh Amol ||
मोलि न पाईऐ गुणह अमोल ॥
His value cannot be estimated; His virtues are invaluable.
ਸਰਬ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਜੋਤਿ ॥
Sarab Joth Mehi Jaa Kee Joth ||
सरब जोति महि जा की जोति ॥
In all light, is His Light.
ਧਾਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ॥
Dhhaar Rehiou Suaamee Outh Poth ||
धारि रहिओ सुआमी ओति पोति ॥
The Lord and Master supports the weave of the fabric of the universe.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਰਮ ਕਾ ਨਾਸੁ ॥
Gur Parasaadh Bharam Kaa Naas ||
गुर परसादि भरम का नासु ॥
By Guru's Grace, doubt is dispelled.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਏਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਸੁ ॥੩॥
Naanak Thin Mehi Eaehu Bisaas ||3||
नानक तिन महि एहु बिसासु ॥३॥
O Nanak, this faith is firmly implanted within. ||3||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਪੇਖਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ॥
Santh Janaa Kaa Paekhan Sabh Breham ||
संत जना का पेखनु सभु ब्रहम ॥
In the eye of the Saint, everything is God.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਭਿ ਧਰਮ ॥
Santh Janaa Kai Hiradhai Sabh Dhharam ||
संत जना कै हिरदै सभि धरम ॥
In the heart of the Saint, everything is Dharma.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸੁਨਹਿ ਸੁਭ ਬਚਨ ॥
Santh Janaa Sunehi Subh Bachan ||
संत जना सुनहि सुभ बचन ॥
The Saint hears words of goodness.
ਸਰਬ ਬਿਆਪੀ ਰਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਚਨ ॥
Sarab Biaapee Raam Sang Rachan ||
सरब बिआपी राम संगि रचन ॥
He is absorbed in the All-pervading Lord.
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਰਹਤ ॥
Jin Jaathaa This Kee Eih Rehath ||
जिनि जाता तिस की इह रहत ॥
This is the way of life of one who knows God.
ਸਤਿ ਬਚਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਭਿ ਕਹਤ ॥
Sath Bachan Saadhhoo Sabh Kehath ||
सति बचन साधू सभि कहत ॥
True are all the words spoken by the Holy.
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
Jo Jo Hoe Soee Sukh Maanai ||
जो जो होइ सोई सुखु मानै ॥
Whatever happens, he peacefully accepts.
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
Karan Karaavanehaar Prabh Jaanai ||
करन करावनहारु प्रभु जानै ॥
He knows God as the Doer, the Cause of causes.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਸੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਭੀ ਓਹੀ ॥
Anthar Basae Baahar Bhee Ouhee ||
अंतरि बसे बाहरि भी ओही ॥
He dwells inside, and outside as well.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਸਭ ਮੋਹੀ ॥੪॥
Naanak Dharasan Dhaekh Sabh Mohee ||4||
नानक दरसनु देखि सभ मोही ॥४॥
O Nanak, beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all are fascinated. ||4||
ਆਪਿ ਸਤਿ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਸਤਿ ॥
Aap Sath Keeaa Sabh Sath ||
आपि सति कीआ सभु सति ॥
He Himself is True, and all that He has made is True.
ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇ ਸਗਲੀ ਉਤਪਤਿ ॥
This Prabh Thae Sagalee Outhapath ||
तिसु प्रभ ते सगली उतपति ॥
The entire creation came from God.
ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੁ ॥
This Bhaavai Thaa Karae Bisathhaar ||
तिसु भावै ता करे बिसथारु ॥
As it pleases Him, He creates the expanse.
ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
This Bhaavai Thaa Eaekankaar ||
तिसु भावै ता एकंकारु ॥
As it pleases Him, He becomes the One and Only again.
ਅਨਿਕ ਕਲਾ ਲਖੀ ਨਹ ਜਾਇ ॥
Anik Kalaa Lakhee Neh Jaae ||
अनिक कला लखी नह जाइ ॥
His powers are so numerous, they cannot be known.
ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
Jis Bhaavai This Leae Milaae ||
जिसु भावै तिसु लए मिलाइ ॥
As it pleases Him, He merges us into Himself again.
ਕਵਨ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਵਨ ਕਹੀਐ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
Kavan Nikatt Kavan Keheeai Dhoor ||
कवन निकटि कवन कहीऐ दूरि ॥
Who is near, and who is far away?
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
Aapae Aap Aap Bharapoor ||
आपे आपि आप भरपूरि ॥
He Himself is Himself pervading everywhere.
ਅੰਤਰਗਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਜਨਾਏ ॥
Antharagath Jis Aap Janaaeae ||
अंतरगति जिसु आपि जनाए ॥
One whom God causes to know that He is within the heart
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥੫॥
Naanak This Jan Aap Bujhaaeae ||5||
नानक तिसु जन आपि बुझाए ॥५॥
- O Nanak, He causes that person to understand Him. ||5||
ਸਰਬ ਭੂਤ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ॥
Sarab Bhooth Aap Varathaaraa ||
सरब भूत आपि वरतारा ॥
In all forms, He Himself is pervading.
ਸਰਬ ਨੈਨ ਆਪਿ ਪੇਖਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
Sarab Nain Aap Paekhanehaaraa ||
सरब नैन आपि पेखनहारा ॥
Through all eyes, He Himself is watching.
ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਤਨਾ ॥
Sagal Samagree Jaa Kaa Thanaa ||
सगल समग्री जा का तना ॥
All the creation is His Body.
ਆਪਨ ਜਸੁ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੁਨਾ ॥
Aapan Jas Aap Hee Sunaa ||
आपन जसु आप ही सुना ॥
He Himself listens to His Own Praise.
ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨੁ ਇਕੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਬਨਾਇਆ ॥
Aavan Jaan Eik Khael Banaaeiaa ||
आवन जानु इकु खेलु बनाइआ ॥
The One has created the drama of coming and going.
ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
Aagiaakaaree Keenee Maaeiaa ||
आगिआकारी कीनी माइआ ॥
He made Maya subservient to His Will.
ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਧਿ ਅਲਿਪਤੋ ਰਹੈ ॥
Sabh Kai Madhh Alipatho Rehai ||
सभ कै मधि अलिपतो रहै ॥
In the midst of all, He remains unattached.
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਹਣਾ ਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਹੈ ॥
Jo Kishh Kehanaa S Aapae Kehai ||
जो किछु कहणा सु आपे कहै ॥
Whatever is said, He Himself says.
ਆਗਿਆ ਆਵੈ ਆਗਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
Aagiaa Aavai Aagiaa Jaae ||
आगिआ आवै आगिआ जाइ ॥
By His Will we come, and by His Will we go.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਲਏ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੬॥
Naanak Jaa Bhaavai Thaa Leae Samaae ||6||
नानक जा भावै ता लए समाइ ॥६॥
O Nanak, when it pleases Him, then He absorbs us into Himself. ||6||
ਇਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਬੁਰਾ ॥
Eis Thae Hoe S Naahee Buraa ||
इस ते होइ सु नाही बुरा ॥
If it comes from Him, it cannot be bad.
ਓਰੈ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਿਨੈ ਕਛੁ ਕਰਾ ॥
Ourai Kehahu Kinai Kashh Karaa ||
ओरै कहहु किनै कछु करा ॥
Other than Him, who can do anything?
ਆਪਿ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਤੂਤਿ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਕੀ ॥
Aap Bhalaa Karathooth Ath Neekee ||
आपि भला करतूति अति नीकी ॥
He Himself is good; His actions are the very best.
ਆਪੇ ਜਾਨੈ ਅਪਨੇ ਜੀ ਕੀ ॥
Aapae Jaanai Apanae Jee Kee ||
आपे जानै अपने जी की ॥
He Himself knows His Own Being.
ਆਪਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਧਾਰੀ ਸਭ ਸਾਚੁ ॥
Aap Saach Dhhaaree Sabh Saach ||
आपि साचु धारी सभ साचु ॥
He Himself is True, and all that He has established is True.
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਆਪਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚੁ ॥
Outh Poth Aapan Sang Raach ||
ओति पोति आपन संगि राचु ॥
Through and through, He is blended with His creation.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
Thaa Kee Gath Mith Kehee N Jaae ||
ता की गति मिति कही न जाइ ॥
His state and extent cannot be described.
ਦੂਸਰ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥
Dhoosar Hoe Th Sojhee Paae ||
दूसर होइ त सोझी पाइ ॥
If there were another like Him, then only he could understand Him.
ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥
This Kaa Keeaa Sabh Paravaan ||
तिस का कीआ सभु परवानु ॥
His actions are all approved and accepted.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਜਾਨੁ ॥੭॥
Gur Prasaadh Naanak Eihu Jaan ||7||
गुर प्रसादि नानक इहु जानु ॥७॥
By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, this is known. ||7||
ਜੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
Jo Jaanai This Sadhaa Sukh Hoe ||
जो जानै तिसु सदा सुखु होइ ॥
One who knows Him, obtains everlasting peace.
ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
Aap Milaae Leae Prabh Soe ||
आपि मिलाइ लए प्रभु सोइ ॥
God blends that one into Himself.
ਓਹੁ ਧਨਵੰਤੁ ਕੁਲਵੰਤੁ ਪਤਿਵੰਤੁ ॥
Ouhu Dhhanavanth Kulavanth Pathivanth ||
ओहु धनवंतु कुलवंतु पतिवंतु ॥
He is wealth and prosperous, and of noble birth.
ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
Jeevan Mukath Jis Ridhai Bhagavanth ||
जीवन मुकति जिसु रिदै भगवंतु ॥
He is Jivan Mukta - liberated while yet alive; the Lord God abides in his heart.
ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਨੁ ਆਇਆ ॥
Dhhann Dhhann Dhhann Jan Aaeiaa ||
धंनु धंनु धंनु जनु आइआ ॥
Blessed, blessed, blessed is the coming of that humble being;
