जन नानक नामु सलाहि तू सचु सचे सेवा तेरी होति ॥१६॥
O servant Nanak, praise the Naam, the Name of the Lord; this is your service to the Lord, the Truest of the True. ||16||

Shalok, Fourth Mehl:
ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
Sabh Ras Thin Kai Ridhai Hehi Jin Har Vasiaa Man Maahi ||
सभि रस तिन कै रिदै हहि जिन हरि वसिआ मन माहि ॥
All joy is in the hearts of those, within whose minds the Lord abides.
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਭਿ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
Har Dharagehi Thae Mukh Oujalae Thin Ko Sabh Dhaekhan Jaahi ||
हरि दरगहि ते मुख उजले तिन कउ सभि देखण जाहि ॥
In the Court of the Lord, their faces are radiant, and everyone goes to see them.
ਜਿਨ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਭਉ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
Jin Nirabho Naam Dhhiaaeiaa Thin Ko Bho Koee Naahi ||
जिन निरभउ नामु धिआइआ तिन कउ भउ कोई नाहि ॥
Those who meditate on the Name of the Fearless Lord have no fear.
ਹਰਿ ਉਤਮੁ ਤਿਨੀ ਸਰੇਵਿਆ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਆਹਿ ॥
Har Outham Thinee Saraeviaa Jin Ko Dhhur Likhiaa Aahi ||
हरि उतमु तिनी सरेविआ जिन कउ धुरि लिखिआ आहि ॥
Those who have such pre-destined destiny remember the Sublime Lord.
ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪੈਨਾਈਅਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
Thae Har Dharagehi Painaaeeahi Jin Har Vuthaa Man Maahi ||
ते हरि दरगहि पैनाईअहि जिन हरि वुठा मन माहि ॥
Those, within whose minds the Lord abides, are robed with honor in the Court of the Lord.
ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਤਰੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਿਉ ਤਿਨ ਪਿਛੈ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਛਡਾਹਿ ॥
Oue Aap Tharae Sabh Kuttanb Sio Thin Pishhai Sabh Jagath Shhaddaahi ||
ओइ आपि तरे सभ कुट्मब सिउ तिन पिछै सभु जगतु छडाहि ॥
They are carried across, along with all their family, and the whole world is saved along with them.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਜਨ ਤਿਨ ਵੇਖਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਹਮ ਜੀਵਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
Jan Naanak Ko Har Mael Jan Thin Vaekh Vaekh Ham Jeevaahi ||1||
जन नानक कउ हरि मेलि जन तिन वेखि वेखि हम जीवाहि ॥१॥
O Lord, please unite servant Nanak with Your humble servants; beholding them, beholding them, I live. ||1||

Fourth Mehl:
ਸਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਭਈ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੀ ਜਿਥੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬੈਠਾ ਆਇ ॥
Saa Dhharathee Bhee Hareeaavalee Jithhai Maeraa Sathigur Baithaa Aae ||
सा धरती भई हरीआवली जिथै मेरा सतिगुरु बैठा आइ ॥
That land, where my True Guru comes and sits, becomes green and fertile.
ਸੇ ਜੰਤ ਭਏ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
Sae Janth Bheae Hareeaavalae Jinee Maeraa Sathigur Dhaekhiaa Jaae ||
से जंत भए हरीआवले जिनी मेरा सतिगुरु देखिआ जाइ ॥
Those beings who go and behold my True Guru are rejuvenated.
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਕੁਲੁ ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੁ ਜਨਨੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਣਿਆ ਮਾਇ ॥
Dhhan Dhhann Pithaa Dhhan Dhhann Kul Dhhan Dhhan S Jananee Jin Guroo Janiaa Maae ||
धनु धंनु पिता धनु धंनु कुलु धनु धनु सु जननी जिनि गुरू जणिआ माइ ॥
Blessed, blessed is the father; blessed, blessed is the family; blessed, blessed is the mother, who gave birth to the Guru.
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਤਰਿਆ ਜਿਨੀ ਡਿਠਾ ਤਿਨਾ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥
Dhhan Dhhann Guroo Jin Naam Araadhhiaa Aap Thariaa Jinee Ddithaa Thinaa Leae Shhaddaae ||
धनु धंनु गुरू जिनि नामु अराधिआ आपि तरिआ जिनी डिठा तिना लए छडाइ ॥
Blessed, blessed is the Guru, who worships and adores the Naam; He saves Himself, and emancipates those who see Him.
ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਧੋਵੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
Har Sathigur Maelahu Dhaeiaa Kar Jan Naanak Dhhovai Paae ||2||
हरि सतिगुरु मेलहु दइआ करि जनु नानकु धोवै पाइ ॥२॥
O Lord, be kind, and unite me with the True Guru, that servant Nanak may wash His feet. ||2||

Sach Sachaa Sathigur Amar Hai Jis Andhar Har Our Dhhaariaa ||
सचु सचा सतिगुरु अमरु है जिसु अंदरि हरि उरि धारिआ ॥
Truest of the True is the Immortal True Guru; He has enshrined the Lord deep within His heart.
ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥
Sach Sachaa Sathigur Purakh Hai Jin Kaam Krodhh Bikh Maariaa ||
सचु सचा सतिगुरु पुरखु है जिनि कामु क्रोधु बिखु मारिआ ॥
Truest of the True is the True Guru, the Primal Being, who has conquered sexual desire, anger and corruption.
ਜਾ ਡਿਠਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਧਾਰਿਆ ॥
Jaa Ddithaa Pooraa Sathiguroo Thaan Andharahu Man Saadhhaariaa ||
जा डिठा पूरा सतिगुरू तां अंदरहु मनु साधारिआ ॥
When I see the Perfect True Guru, then deep within, my mind is comforted and consoled.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਘੁਮਿ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
Balihaaree Gur Aapanae Sadhaa Sadhaa Ghum Vaariaa ||
बलिहारी गुर आपणे सदा सदा घुमि वारिआ ॥
I am a sacrifice to my True Guru; I am devoted and dedicated to Him, forever and ever.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਤਾ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਹਾਰਿਆ ॥੧੭॥
Guramukh Jithaa Manamukh Haariaa ||17||
गुरमुखि जिता मनमुखि हारिआ ॥१७॥
A Gurmukh wins the battle of life whereas a self-willed manmukh loses it. ||17||

Shalok, Fourth Mehl:
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿਓਨੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਸੀ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Sathigur Maelioun Mukh Guramukh Naam Dhhiaaeisee ||
करि किरपा सतिगुरु मेलिओनु मुखि गुरमुखि नामु धिआइसी ॥
By His Grace He leads us to meet the True Guru; then as Gurmukh, we chant the Lord's Name, and meditate on it.
ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਵਸੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਘਰੀ ਵਸਾਇਸੀ ॥
So Karae J Sathigur Bhaavasee Gur Pooraa Gharee Vasaaeisee ||
सो करे जि सतिगुर भावसी गुरु पूरा घरी वसाइसी ॥
We do that which pleases the True Guru; the Perfect Guru comes to dwell in the home of the heart.
ਜਿਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਸਭੁ ਗਵਾਇਸੀ ॥
Jin Andhar Naam Nidhhaan Hai Thin Kaa Bho Sabh Gavaaeisee ||
जिन अंदरि नामु निधानु है तिन का भउ सभु गवाइसी ॥
Those who have the treasure of the Naam deep within - all their fears are removed.
ਜਿਨ ਰਖਣ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਹੋਇ ਹੋਰ ਕੇਤੀ ਝਖਿ ਝਖਿ ਜਾਇਸੀ ॥
Jin Rakhan Ko Har Aap Hoe Hor Kaethee Jhakh Jhakh Jaaeisee ||
जिन रखण कउ हरि आपि होइ होर केती झखि झखि जाइसी ॥
They are protected by the Lord Himself; others struggle and fight against them, but they only come to death.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਛੋਡਾਇਸੀ ॥੧॥
Jan Naanak Naam Dhhiaae Thoo Har Halath Palath Shhoddaaeisee ||1||
जन नानक नामु धिआइ तू हरि हलति पलति छोडाइसी ॥१॥
O servant Nanak, meditate on the Naam; the Lord shall deliver you, here and hereafter. ||1||

ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵਦੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Gurasikhaa Kai Man Bhaavadhee Gur Sathigur Kee Vaddiaaee ||
गुरसिखा कै मनि भावदी गुर सतिगुर की वडिआई ॥
The glorious greatness of the Guru the True Guru is pleasing to the GurSikh's mind.
ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪੈਜ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੀ ਨਿਤ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਈ ॥
Har Raakhahu Paij Sathiguroo Kee Nith Charrai Savaaee ||
हरि राखहु पैज सतिगुरू की नित चड़ै सवाई ॥
The Lord preserves the honor of the True Guru, which increases day by day.
ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਛਡਾਈ ॥
Gur Sathigur Kai Man Paarabreham Hai Paarabreham Shhaddaaee ||
गुर सतिगुर कै मनि पारब्रहमु है पारब्रहमु छडाई ॥
The Supreme Lord God is in the Mind of the Guru, the True Guru; the Supreme Lord God saves Him.
ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਾਣੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਭ ਆਣਿ ਨਿਵਾਈ ॥
Gur Sathigur Thaan Dheebaan Har Thin Sabh Aan Nivaaee ||
गुर सतिगुर ताणु दीबाणु हरि तिनि सभ आणि निवाई ॥
The Lord is the Power and Support of the Guru, the True Guru; all come to bow before Him.
ਜਿਨੀ ਡਿਠਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਗਵਾਈ ॥
Jinee Ddithaa Maeraa Sathigur Bhaao Kar Thin Kae Sabh Paap Gavaaee ||
जिनी डिठा मेरा सतिगुरु भाउ करि तिन के सभि पाप गवाई ॥
Those who have gazed lovingly upon my True Guru - all their sins are taken away.
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਬਹੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥
Har Dharageh Thae Mukh Oujalae Bahu Sobhaa Paaee ||
हरि दरगह ते मुख उजले बहु सोभा पाई ॥
Their faces are radiant in the Court of the Lord, and they obtain great glory.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਧੂੜਿ ਤਿਨ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਸਿਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥੨॥
Jan Naanak Mangai Dhhoorr Thin Jo Gur Kae Sikh Maerae Bhaaee ||2||
जनु नानकु मंगै धूड़ि तिन जो गुर के सिख मेरे भाई ॥२॥
Servant Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of those GurSikhs, O my Siblings of Destiny. ||2||

I chant the Praises and Glories of the True One. True is the glorious greatness of the True Lord.
ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
Saalaahee Sach Salaah Sach Sach Keemath Kinai N Paaee ||
सालाही सचु सलाह सचु सचु कीमति किनै न पाई ॥
I praise the True Lord, and the Praises of the True Lord. His worth cannot be estimated.
