जिस की स्रिसटि सु करणैहारु ॥
He is the Creator Lord of His world.
ਅਵਰ ਨ ਬੂਝਿ ਕਰਤ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
Avar N Boojh Karath Beechaar ||
अवर न बूझि करत बीचारु ॥
No one else understands Him, although they may try.
ਕਰਤੇ ਕੀ ਮਿਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੀਆ ॥
Karathae Kee Mith N Jaanai Keeaa ||
करते की मिति न जानै कीआ ॥
The created cannot know the extent of the Creator.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਵਰਤੀਆ ॥੭॥
Naanak Jo This Bhaavai So Varatheeaa ||7||
नानक जो तिसु भावै सो वरतीआ ॥७॥
O Nanak, whatever pleases Him comes to pass. ||7||

Bisaman Bisam Bheae Bisamaadh ||
बिसमन बिसम भए बिसमाद ॥
Gazing upon His wondrous wonder, I am wonder-struck and amazed!
ਜਿਨਿ ਬੂਝਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਇਆ ਸ੍ਵਾਦ ॥
Jin Boojhiaa This Aaeiaa Svaadh ||
जिनि बूझिआ तिसु आइआ स्वाद ॥
One who realizes this, comes to taste this state of joy.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਚਿ ਜਨ ਰਹੇ ॥
Prabh Kai Rang Raach Jan Rehae ||
प्रभ कै रंगि राचि जन रहे ॥
God's humble servants remain absorbed in His Love.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਲਹੇ ॥
Gur Kai Bachan Padhaarathh Lehae ||
गुर कै बचनि पदारथ लहे ॥
Following the Guru's Teachings, they receive the four cardinal blessings.
ਓਇ ਦਾਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟਨਹਾਰ ॥
Oue Dhaathae Dhukh Kaattanehaar ||
ओइ दाते दुख काटनहार ॥
They are the givers, the dispellers of pain.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥
Jaa Kai Sang Tharai Sansaar ||
जा कै संगि तरै संसार ॥
In their company, the world is saved.
ਜਨ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
Jan Kaa Saevak So Vaddabhaagee ||
जन का सेवकु सो वडभागी ॥
The slave of the Lord's servant is so very blessed.
ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
Jan Kai Sang Eaek Liv Laagee ||
जन कै संगि एक लिव लागी ॥
In the company of His servant, one becomes attached to the Love of the One.
ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਜਨੁ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
Gun Gobidh Keerathan Jan Gaavai ||
गुन गोबिद कीरतनु जनु गावै ॥
His humble servant sings the Kirtan, the songs of the glory of God.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੮॥੧੬॥

His Lotus Feet are True, and True are those who touch Them.
ਪੂਜਾ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸੇਵਦਾਰ ॥
Poojaa Sath Sath Saevadhaar ||
पूजा सति सति सेवदार ॥
His devotional worship is True, and True are those who worship Him.
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਪੇਖਨਹਾਰ ॥
Dharasan Sath Sath Paekhanehaar ||
दरसनु सति सति पेखनहार ॥
The Blessing of His Vision is True, and True are those who behold it.
ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਧਿਆਵਨਹਾਰ ॥
Naam Sath Sath Dhhiaavanehaar ||
नामु सति सति धिआवनहार ॥
His Naam is True, and True are those who meditate on it.
ਆਪਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਭ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
Aap Sath Sath Sabh Dhhaaree ||
आपि सति सति सभ धारी ॥
He Himself is True, and True is all that He sustains.
ਆਪੇ ਗੁਣ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ ॥
Aapae Gun Aapae Gunakaaree ||
आपे गुण आपे गुणकारी ॥
He Himself is virtuous goodness, and He Himself is the Bestower of virtue.
ਸਬਦੁ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਕਤਾ ॥
Sabadh Sath Sath Prabh Bakathaa ||
सबदु सति सति प्रभु बकता ॥
The Word of His Shabad is True, and True are those who speak of God.
ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਨਤਾ ॥
Surath Sath Sath Jas Sunathaa ||
सुरति सति सति जसु सुनता ॥
Those ears are True, and True are those who listen to His Praises.
ਬੁਝਨਹਾਰ ਕਉ ਸਤਿ ਸਭ ਹੋਇ ॥
Bujhanehaar Ko Sath Sabh Hoe ||
बुझनहार कउ सति सभ होइ ॥
All is True to one who understands.

सति सरूपु रिदै जिनि मानिआ ॥
One who believes in the Embodiment of Truth with all his heart
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਤਿਨਿ ਮੂਲੁ ਪਛਾਨਿਆ ॥
Karan Karaavan Thin Mool Pashhaaniaa ||
करन करावन तिनि मूलु पछानिआ ॥
Recognizes the Cause of causes as the Root of all.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਿਸ੍ਵਾਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਇਆ ॥
Jaa Kai Ridhai Bisvaas Prabh Aaeiaa ||
जा कै रिदै बिस्वासु प्रभ आइआ ॥
One whose heart is filled with faith in God
ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥
Thath Giaan This Man Pragattaaeiaa ||
ततु गिआनु तिसु मनि प्रगटाइआ ॥
The essence of spiritual wisdom is revealed to his mind.
ਭੈ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੋਇ ਬਸਾਨਾ ॥
Bhai Thae Nirabho Hoe Basaanaa ||
भै ते निरभउ होइ बसाना ॥
Coming out of fear, he comes to live without fear.
ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥
Jis Thae Oupajiaa This Maahi Samaanaa ||
जिस ते उपजिआ तिसु माहि समाना ॥
He is absorbed into the One, from whom he originated.
ਬਸਤੁ ਮਾਹਿ ਲੇ ਬਸਤੁ ਗਡਾਈ ॥
Basath Maahi Lae Basath Gaddaaee ||
बसतु माहि ले बसतु गडाई ॥
When something blends with its own,
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਭਿੰਨ ਨ ਕਹਨਾ ਜਾਈ ॥
Thaa Ko Bhinn N Kehanaa Jaaee ||
ता कउ भिंन न कहना जाई ॥
It cannot be said to be separate from it.
ਬੂਝੈ ਬੂਝਨਹਾਰੁ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥
Boojhai Boojhanehaar Bibaek ||
बूझै बूझनहारु बिबेक ॥
This is understood only by one of discerning understanding.
ਨਾਰਾਇਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕ ॥੨॥
Naaraaein Milae Naanak Eaek ||2||
नाराइन मिले नानक एक ॥२॥
Meeting with the Lord, O Nanak, he becomes one with Him. ||2||
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ॥

ठाकुर का सेवकु आगिआकारी ॥
The servant is obedient to his Lord and Master.
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸਦਾ ਪੂਜਾਰੀ ॥
Thaakur Kaa Saevak Sadhaa Poojaaree ||
ठाकुर का सेवकु सदा पूजारी ॥
The servant worships his Lord and Master forever.
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ॥

ठाकुर के सेवक कै मनि परतीति ॥
The servant of the Lord Master has faith in his mind.
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
Thaakur Kae Saevak Kee Niramal Reeth ||
ठाकुर के सेवक की निरमल रीति ॥
The servant of the Lord Master lives a pure lifestyle.
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਉ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
Thaakur Ko Saevak Jaanai Sang ||
ठाकुर कउ सेवकु जानै संगि ॥
The servant of the Lord Master knows that the Lord is with him.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਨਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
Prabh Kaa Saevak Naam Kai Rang ||
प्रभ का सेवकु नाम कै रंगि ॥
God's servant is attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਲਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
Saevak Ko Prabh Paalanehaaraa ||
सेवक कउ प्रभ पालनहारा ॥
God is the Cherisher of His servant.
ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਰਾਖੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ ॥
Saevak Kee Raakhai Nirankaaraa ||
सेवक की राखै निरंकारा ॥
The Formless Lord preserves His servant.
ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
So Saevak Jis Dhaeiaa Prabh Dhhaarai ||
सो सेवकु जिसु दइआ प्रभु धारै ॥
Unto His servant, God bestows His Mercy.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮਾਰੈ ॥੩॥
Naanak So Saevak Saas Saas Samaarai ||3||
नानक सो सेवकु सासि सासि समारै ॥३॥
O Nanak, that servant remembers Him with each and every breath. ||3||
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਢਾਕੈ ॥
Apunae Jan Kaa Paradhaa Dtaakai ||
अपुने जन का परदा ढाकै ॥
He covers the faults of His servant.
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਸਰਪਰ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
Apanae Saevak Kee Sarapar Raakhai ||
अपने सेवक की सरपर राखै ॥
He surely preserves the honor of His servant.
ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਦੇਇ ਵਡਾਈ ॥
Apanae Dhaas Ko Dhaee Vaddaaee ||
अपने दास कउ देइ वडाई ॥
He blesses His slave with greatness.
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਈ ॥
Apanae Saevak Ko Naam Japaaee ||
अपने सेवक कउ नामु जपाई ॥
He inspires His servant to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਆਪਿ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
Apanae Saevak Kee Aap Path Raakhai ||
अपने सेवक की आपि पति राखै ॥
He Himself preserves the honor of His servant.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਲਾਖੈ ॥
Thaa Kee Gath Mith Koe N Laakhai ||
ता की गति मिति कोइ न लाखै ॥
No one knows His state and extent.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਕੋ ਨ ਪਹੂਚੈ ॥
Prabh Kae Saevak Ko Ko N Pehoochai ||
प्रभ के सेवक कउ को न पहूचै ॥
No one is equal to the servant of God.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਊਚ ਤੇ ਊਚੇ ॥
Prabh Kae Saevak Ooch Thae Oochae ||
प्रभ के सेवक ऊच ते ऊचे ॥
The servant of God is the highest of the high.
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
Jo Prabh Apanee Saevaa Laaeiaa ||
जो प्रभि अपनी सेवा लाइआ ॥
One whom God applies to His own service, O Nanak
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥੪॥
Naanak So Saevak Dheh Dhis Pragattaaeiaa ||4||
नानक सो सेवकु दह दिसि प्रगटाइआ ॥४॥
- that servant is famous in the ten directions. ||4||
ਨੀਕੀ ਕੀਰੀ ਮਹਿ ਕਲ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
Neekee Keeree Mehi Kal Raakhai ||
नीकी कीरी महि कल राखै ॥
He infuses His Power into the tiny ant;
ਭਸਮ ਕਰੈ ਲਸਕਰ ਕੋਟਿ ਲਾਖੈ ॥
Bhasam Karai Lasakar Kott Laakhai ||
भसम करै लसकर कोटि लाखै ॥
It can then reduce the armies of millions to ashes
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਾਸੁ ਨ ਕਾਢਤ ਆਪਿ ॥
Jis Kaa Saas N Kaadtath Aap ||
जिस का सासु न काढत आपि ॥
Those whose breath of life He Himself does not take away
