जब हम एको एकु करि जानिआ ॥
When I realize that there is One, and only One Lord,
ਤਬ ਲੋਗਹ ਕਾਹੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥
Thab Logeh Kaahae Dhukh Maaniaa ||1||
तब लोगह काहे दुखु मानिआ ॥१॥
Why then should the people be upset? ||1||
ਹਮ ਅਪਤਹ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
Ham Apatheh Apunee Path Khoee ||
हम अपतह अपुनी पति खोई ॥
I am dishonored; I have lost my honor.
ਹਮਰੈ ਖੋਜਿ ਪਰਹੁ ਮਤਿ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

हमरै खोजि परहु मति कोई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Ham Mandhae Mandhae Man Maahee ||
हम मंदे मंदे मन माही ॥
I am bad, and bad in my mind as well.
ਸਾਝ ਪਾਤਿ ਕਾਹੂ ਸਿਉ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
Saajh Paath Kaahoo Sio Naahee ||2||
साझ पाति काहू सिउ नाही ॥२॥
I have no partnership with anyone. ||2||
ਪਤਿ ਅਪਤਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਨਹੀ ਲਾਜ ॥
Path Apath Thaa Kee Nehee Laaj ||
पति अपति ता की नही लाज ॥
I have no shame about honor or dishonor.
ਤਬ ਜਾਨਹੁਗੇ ਜਬ ਉਘਰੈਗੋ ਪਾਜ ॥੩॥
Thab Jaanahugae Jab Ougharaigo Paaj ||3||
तब जानहुगे जब उघरैगो पाज ॥३॥
But you shall know, when your own false covering is laid bare. ||3||

सरब तिआगि भजु केवल रामु ॥४॥३॥
Give up everything - meditate, vibrate upon the Lord alone. ||4||3||

If Yoga could be obtained by wandering around naked,
ਬਨ ਕਾ ਮਿਰਗੁ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਸਭੁ ਹੋਗੁ ॥੧॥
Ban Kaa Mirag Mukath Sabh Hog ||1||
बन का मिरगु मुकति सभु होगु ॥१॥
Then all the deer of the forest would be liberated. ||1||
ਕਿਆ ਨਾਗੇ ਕਿਆ ਬਾਧੇ ਚਾਮ ॥
Kiaa Naagae Kiaa Baadhhae Chaam ||
किआ नागे किआ बाधे चाम ॥
What does it matter whether someone goes naked, or wears a deer skin,
ਜਬ ਨਹੀ ਚੀਨਸਿ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

जब नही चीनसि आतम राम ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
If he does not remember the Lord within his soul? ||1||Pause||
ਮੂਡ ਮੁੰਡਾਏ ਜੌ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥

मूड मुंडाए जौ सिधि पाई ॥
If the spiritual perfection of the Siddhas could be obtained by shaving the head,
ਮੁਕਤੀ ਭੇਡ ਨ ਗਈਆ ਕਾਈ ॥੨॥

मुकती भेड न गईआ काई ॥२॥
Then why haven't sheep found liberation? ||2||
ਬਿੰਦੁ ਰਾਖਿ ਜੌ ਤਰੀਐ ਭਾਈ ॥

बिंदु राखि जौ तरीऐ भाई ॥
If someone could save himself by celibacy, O Siblings of Destiny,
ਖੁਸਰੈ ਕਿਉ ਨ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥

खुसरै किउ न परम गति पाई ॥३॥
Why then haven't eunuchs obtained the state of supreme dignity? ||3||

Those who take their ritual baths in the evening and the morning

जिउ भए दादुर पानी माही ॥१॥
Are like the frogs in the water. ||1||
ਜਉ ਪੈ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
Jo Pai Raam Raam Rath Naahee ||
जउ पै राम राम रति नाही ॥
When people do not love the Lord's Name,
ਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕੈ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ते सभि धरम राइ कै जाही ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
They must all go to the Righteous Judge of Dharma. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਇਆ ਰਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਰੂਪ ਰਚਾਹੀ ॥
Kaaeiaa Rath Bahu Roop Rachaahee ||
काइआ रति बहु रूप रचाही ॥
Those who love their bodies and try different looks,
ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਦਇਆ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਭੀ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
Thin Ko Dhaeiaa Supanai Bhee Naahee ||2||
तिन कउ दइआ सुपनै भी नाही ॥२॥
Do not feel compassion, even in dreams. ||2||
ਚਾਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਹਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਆਗਰ ॥
Chaar Charan Kehehi Bahu Aagar ||
चारि चरन कहहि बहु आगर ॥
The wise men call them four-footed creatures;
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਕਲਿ ਸਾਗਰ ॥੩॥
Saadhhoo Sukh Paavehi Kal Saagar ||3||
साधू सुखु पावहि कलि सागर ॥३॥
The Holy find peace in this ocean of pain. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਬਹੁ ਕਾਇ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥

कहु कबीर बहु काइ करीजै ॥
Says Kabeer, why do you perform so many rituals?

सरबसु छोडि महा रसु पीजै ॥४॥५॥
Renounce everything, and drink in the supreme essence of the Lord. ||4||5||

किआ जपु किआ तपु किआ ब्रत पूजा ॥
What use is chanting, and what use is penance, fasting or devotional worship,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਭਾਉ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥
Jaa Kai Ridhai Bhaao Hai Dhoojaa ||1||
जा कै रिदै भाउ है दूजा ॥१॥
To one whose heart is filled with the love of duality? ||1||
ਰੇ ਜਨ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਧਉ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਈਐ ॥
Rae Jan Man Maadhho Sio Laaeeai ||
रे जन मनु माधउ सिउ लाईऐ ॥
O humble people, link your mind to the Lord.
ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਨ ਚਤੁਰਭੁਜੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Chathuraaee N Chathurabhuj Paaeeai || Rehaao ||
चतुराई न चतुरभुजु पाईऐ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Through cleverness, the four-armed Lord is not obtained. ||Pause||
ਪਰਹਰੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਅਰੁ ਲੋਕਾਚਾਰੁ ॥
Parehar Lobh Ar Lokaachaar ||
परहरु लोभु अरु लोकाचारु ॥
Set aside your greed and worldly ways.
ਪਰਹਰੁ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
Parehar Kaam Krodhh Ahankaar ||2||
परहरु कामु क्रोधु अहंकारु ॥२॥
Set aside sexual desire, anger and egotism. ||2||
ਕਰਮ ਕਰਤ ਬਧੇ ਅਹੰਮੇਵ ॥
Karam Karath Badhhae Ahanmaev ||
करम करत बधे अहमेव ॥
Ritual practices bind people in egotism;
ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਥਰ ਕੀ ਕਰਹੀ ਸੇਵ ॥੩॥
Mil Paathhar Kee Karehee Saev ||3||
मिलि पाथर की करही सेव ॥३॥
Meeting together, they worship stones. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

कहु कबीर भगति करि पाइआ ॥
Says Kabeer, He is obtained only by devotional worship.
ਭੋਲੇ ਭਾਇ ਮਿਲੇ ਰਘੁਰਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੬॥
Bholae Bhaae Milae Raghuraaeiaa ||4||6||
भोले भाइ मिले रघुराइआ ॥४॥६॥
Through innocent love, the Lord is met. ||4||6||

In the dwelling of the womb, there is no ancestry or social status.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਿੰਦੁ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਉਤਪਾਤੀ ॥੧॥
Breham Bindh Thae Sabh Outhapaathee ||1||
ब्रहम बिंदु ते सभ उतपाती ॥१॥
All have originated from the Seed of God. ||1||
ਕਹੁ ਰੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਬਾਮਨ ਕਬ ਕੇ ਹੋਏ ॥

कहु रे पंडित बामन कब के होए ॥
Tell me, O Pandit, O religious scholar: since when have you been a Brahmin?
ਬਾਮਨ ਕਹਿ ਕਹਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਮਤ ਖੋਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

बामन कहि कहि जनमु मत खोए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Don't waste your life by continually claiming to be a Brahmin. ||1||Pause||
ਜੌ ਤੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਣੀ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
Ja Thoon Braahaman Brehamanee Jaaeiaa ||
जौ तूं ब्राहमणु ब्रहमणी जाइआ ॥
If you are indeed a Brahmin, born of a Brahmin mother,
ਤਉ ਆਨ ਬਾਟ ਕਾਹੇ ਨਹੀ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
Tho Aan Baatt Kaahae Nehee Aaeiaa ||2||
तउ आन बाट काहे नही आइआ ॥२॥
Then why didn't you come by some other way? ||2||
ਤੁਮ ਕਤ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਹਮ ਕਤ ਸੂਦ ॥
Thum Kath Braahaman Ham Kath Soodh ||
तुम कत ब्राहमण हम कत सूद ॥
How is it that you are a Brahmin, and I am of a low social status?
ਹਮ ਕਤ ਲੋਹੂ ਤੁਮ ਕਤ ਦੂਧ ॥੩॥
Ham Kath Lohoo Thum Kath Dhoodhh ||3||
हम कत लोहू तुम कत दूध ॥३॥
How is it that I am formed of blood, and you are made of milk? ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥

कहु कबीर जो ब्रहमु बीचारै ॥
Says Kabeer, one who contemplates God,
ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਕਹੀਅਤੁ ਹੈ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥੪॥੭॥
So Braahaman Keheeath Hai Hamaarai ||4||7||
सो ब्राहमणु कहीअतु है हमारै ॥४॥७॥
