मनहि मारि कवन सिधि थापी ॥१॥
Who has established himself as a Siddha, a being of miraculous spiritual powers, by killing his mind? ||1||
ਕਵਨੁ ਸੁ ਮੁਨਿ ਜੋ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੈ ॥

Who is that silent sage, who has killed his mind?

मन अंतरि बोलै सभु कोई ॥
Everyone speaks through the mind.
ਮਨ ਮਾਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੨॥
Man Maarae Bin Bhagath N Hoee ||2||
मन मारे बिनु भगति न होई ॥२॥
Without killing the mind, devotional worship is not performed. ||2||

कहु कबीर जो जानै भेउ ॥
Says Kabeer, one who knows the secret of this mystery,

किनि ओइ चीते चीतनहारे ॥१॥
- who is the painter who painted them? ||1||

सूरज चंदु करहि उजीआरा ॥
The sun and the moon give their light;
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
Sabh Mehi Pasariaa Breham Pasaaraa ||2||
सभ महि पसरिआ ब्रहम पसारा ॥२॥
God's creative extension extends everywhere. ||2||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਾਨੈਗਾ ਸੋਇ ॥

कहु कबीर जानैगा सोइ ॥
Says Kabeer, he alone knows this,

हिरदै रामु मुखि रामै होइ ॥३॥२९॥
Whose heart is filled with the Lord, and whose mouth is also filled with the Lord. ||3||29||

सांकल जेवरी लै है आई ॥१॥
She has brought a chain and a rope. ||1||
ਆਪਨ ਨਗਰੁ ਆਪ ਤੇ ਬਾਧਿਆ ॥
Aapan Nagar Aap Thae Baadhhiaa ||
आपन नगरु आप ते बाधिआ ॥
She has imprisoned the people in her own city.
ਮੋਹ ਕੈ ਫਾਧਿ ਕਾਲ ਸਰੁ ਸਾਂਧਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

मोह कै फाधि काल सरु सांधिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
She has tightened the noose of emotional attachment and shot the arrow of death. ||1||Pause||
ਕਟੀ ਨ ਕਟੈ ਤੂਟਿ ਨਹ ਜਾਈ ॥
Kattee N Kattai Thoott Neh Jaaee ||
कटी न कटै तूटि नह जाई ॥
By cutting, she cannot be cut, and she cannot be broken.
ਸਾ ਸਾਪਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਜਗ ਕਉ ਖਾਈ ॥੨॥
Saa Saapan Hoe Jag Ko Khaaee ||2||
सा सापनि होइ जग कउ खाई ॥२॥
She has become a serpent, and she is eating the world. ||2||
ਹਮ ਦੇਖਤ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਲੂਟਿਆ ॥
Ham Dhaekhath Jin Sabh Jag Loottiaa ||
हम देखत जिनि सभु जगु लूटिआ ॥
Before my very eyes, she has plundered the entire world.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਮੈ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਛੂਟਿਆ ॥੩॥੩੦॥
Kahu Kabeer Mai Raam Kehi Shhoottiaa ||3||30||
कहु कबीर मै राम कहि छूटिआ ॥३॥३०॥
Says Kabeer, chanting the Lord's Name, I have escaped her. ||3||30||

देइ मुहार लगामु पहिरावउ ॥
I have grasped the reins and attached the bridle;
ਸਗਲ ਤ ਜੀਨੁ ਗਗਨ ਦਉਰਾਵਉ ॥੧॥
Sagal Th Jeen Gagan Dhouraavo ||1||
सगल त जीनु गगन दउरावउ ॥१॥
Abandoning everything, I now ride through the skies. ||1||
ਅਪਨੈ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਅਸਵਾਰੀ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
Apanai Beechaar Asavaaree Keejai ||
अपनै बीचारि असवारी कीजै ॥
I made self-reflection my mount,
ਸਹਜ ਕੈ ਪਾਵੜੈ ਪਗੁ ਧਰਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

सहज कै पावड़ै पगु धरि लीजै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
And in the stirrups of intuitive poise, I placed my feet. ||1||Pause||
ਚਲੁ ਰੇ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਲੇ ਤਾਰਉ ॥
Chal Rae Baikunth Thujhehi Lae Thaaro ||
चलु रे बैकुंठ तुझहि ले तारउ ॥
Come, and let me ride you to heaven.
ਹਿਚਹਿ ਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੈ ਚਾਬੁਕ ਮਾਰਉ ॥੨॥
Hichehi Th Praem Kai Chaabuk Maaro ||2||
हिचहि त प्रेम कै चाबुक मारउ ॥२॥
If you hold back, then I shall strike you with the whip of spiritual love. ||2||
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਭਲੇ ਅਸਵਾਰਾ ॥

कहत कबीर भले असवारा ॥
Says Kabeer, those who remain detached from the Vedas,
ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਤੇ ਰਹਹਿ ਨਿਰਾਰਾ ॥੩॥੩੧॥

बेद कतेब ते रहहि निरारा ॥३॥३१॥
The Koran and the Bible are the best riders. ||3||31||

जिह मुखि पांचउ अम्रित खाए ॥
That mouth, which used to eat the five delicacies
ਤਿਹ ਮੁਖ ਦੇਖਤ ਲੂਕਟ ਲਾਏ ॥੧॥
Thih Mukh Dhaekhath Lookatt Laaeae ||1||
तिह मुख देखत लूकट लाए ॥१॥
- I have seen the flames being applied to that mouth. ||1||
ਇਕੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਕਾਟਹੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
Eik Dhukh Raam Raae Kaattahu Maeraa ||
इकु दुखु राम राइ काटहु मेरा ॥
O Lord, my King, please rid me of this one affliction:
ਅਗਨਿ ਦਹੈ ਅਰੁ ਗਰਭ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Agan Dhehai Ar Garabh Basaeraa ||1|| Rehaao ||
अगनि दहै अरु गरभ बसेरा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
May I not be burned in fire, or cast into the womb again. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਇਆ ਬਿਗੂਤੀ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਾਤੀ ॥
Kaaeiaa Bigoothee Bahu Bidhh Bhaathee ||
काइआ बिगूती बहु बिधि भाती ॥
The body is destroyed by so many ways and means.
ਕੋ ਜਾਰੇ ਕੋ ਗਡਿ ਲੇ ਮਾਟੀ ॥੨॥
Ko Jaarae Ko Gadd Lae Maattee ||2||
को जारे को गडि ले माटी ॥२॥
Some burn it, and some bury it in the earth. ||2||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਦਿਖਾਵਹੁ ॥
Kahu Kabeer Har Charan Dhikhaavahu ||
कहु कबीर हरि चरण दिखावहु ॥
Says Kabeer, O Lord, please reveal to me Your Lotus Feet;
ਪਾਛੈ ਤੇ ਜਮੁ ਕਿਉ ਨ ਪਠਾਵਹੁ ॥੩॥੩੨॥
Paashhai Thae Jam Kio N Pathaavahu ||3||32||
पाछै ते जमु किउ न पठावहु ॥३॥३२॥
After that, go ahead and send me to my death. ||3||32||

He Himself is the fire, and He Himself is the wind.
ਜਾਰੈ ਖਸਮੁ ਤ ਰਾਖੈ ਕਵਨਾ ॥੧॥
Jaarai Khasam Th Raakhai Kavanaa ||1||
जारै खसमु त राखै कवना ॥१॥
When our Lord and Master wishes to burn someone, then who can save him? ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਜਪਤ ਤਨੁ ਜਰਿ ਕੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
Raam Japath Than Jar Kee N Jaae ||
राम जपत तनु जरि की न जाइ ॥
When I chant the Lord's Name, what does it matter if my body burns?
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਚਿਤੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

राम नाम चितु रहिआ समाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
My consciousness remains absorbed in the Lord's Name. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾ ਕੋ ਜਰੈ ਕਾਹਿ ਹੋਇ ਹਾਨਿ ॥
Kaa Ko Jarai Kaahi Hoe Haan ||
का को जरै काहि होइ हानि ॥
Who is burned, and who suffers loss?
ਨਟ ਵਟ ਖੇਲੈ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨਿ ॥੨॥
Natt Vatt Khaelai Saarigapaan ||2||
नट वट खेलै सारिगपानि ॥२॥
The Lord plays, like the juggler with his ball. ||2||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਅਖਰ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਖਿ ॥
Kahu Kabeer Akhar Dhue Bhaakh ||
कहु कबीर अखर दुइ भाखि ॥
Says Kabeer, chant the two letters of the Lord's Name - Raa Maa.
ਹੋਇਗਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਤ ਲੇਇਗਾ ਰਾਖਿ ॥੩॥੩੩॥
Hoeigaa Khasam Th Laeeigaa Raakh ||3||33||
होइगा खसमु त लेइगा राखि ॥३॥३३॥
If He is your Lord and Master, He will protect you. ||3||33||

Naa Mai Jog Dhhiaan Chith Laaeiaa ||
ना मै जोग धिआन चितु लाइआ ॥
I have not practiced Yoga, or focused my consciousness on meditation.
ਬਿਨੁ ਬੈਰਾਗ ਨ ਛੂਟਸਿ ਮਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
Bin Bairaag N Shhoottas Maaeiaa ||1||
बिनु बैराग न छूटसि माइआ ॥१॥
Without renunciation, I cannot escape Maya. ||1||
ਕੈਸੇ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
