ਤਿਸੈ ਸਰੇਵਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਹੋ ਜਿਸ ਦੈ ਨਾਉ ਪਲੈ ॥
Thisai Saraevahu Praaneeho Jis Dhai Naao Palai ||
तिसै सरेवहु प्राणीहो जिस दै नाउ पलै ॥
Serve Him O mortals who has the Lord's Name in His lap.
ਐਥੈ ਰਹਹੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਿਆ ਅਗੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਚਲੈ ॥
Aithhai Rehahu Suhaeliaa Agai Naal Chalai ||
ऐथै रहहु सुहेलिआ अगै नालि चलै ॥
You shall dwell in peace and ease in this world; in the world hereafter, it shall go with you.
ਘਰੁ ਬੰਧਹੁ ਸਚ ਧਰਮ ਕਾ ਗਡਿ ਥੰਮੁ ਅਹਲੈ ॥
Ghar Bandhhahu Sach Dhharam Kaa Gadd Thhanm Ahalai ||
घरु बंधहु सच धरम का गडि थमु अहलै ॥
So build your home of true righteousness, with the unshakable pillars of Dharma.
ਓਟ ਲੈਹੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੈ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਝਲੈ ॥
Outt Laihu Naaraaeinai Dheen Dhuneeaa Jhalai ||
ओट लैहु नाराइणै दीन दुनीआ झलै ॥
Take the Support of the Lord, who gives support in the spiritual and material worlds.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਕੜੇ ਚਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਲੈ ॥੮॥

ਜਾਚਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ॥
Jaachak Mangai Dhaan Dhaehi Piaariaa ||
जाचकु मंगै दानु देहि पिआरिआ ॥
The beggar begs for charity: give to me, O my Beloved!
ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੁ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਮੈ ਨਿਤ ਚਿਤਾਰਿਆ ॥
Dhaevanehaar Dhaathaar Mai Nith Chithaariaa ||
देवणहारु दातारु मै नित चितारिआ ॥
O Great Giver, O Giving Lord, my consciousness is continually centered on You.
ਨਿਖੁਟਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਮੂਲਿ ਅਤੁਲ ਭੰਡਾਰਿਆ ॥
Nikhutt N Jaaee Mool Athul Bhanddaariaa ||
निखुटि न जाई मूलि अतुल भंडारिआ ॥
The immeasurable warehouses of the Lord can never be emptied out.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥

सिखहु सबदु पिआरिहो जनम मरन की टेक ॥
O Sikhs, love the Word of the Shabad; in life and death, it is our only support.
ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਏਕ ॥੨॥
Mukh Oojal Sadhaa Sukhee Naanak Simarath Eaek ||2||
मुख ऊजल सदा सुखी नानक सिमरत एक ॥२॥
Your face shall be radiant, and you shall find a lasting peace, O Nanak, remembering the One Lord in meditation. ||2||

ਓਥੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਵੰਡੀਐ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਣੇ ॥
Outhhai Anmrith Vanddeeai Sukheeaa Har Karanae ||
ओथै अम्रितु वंडीऐ सुखीआ हरि करणे ॥
There, the Ambrosial Nectar is distributed; the Lord is the Bringer of peace.
ਜਮ ਕੈ ਪੰਥਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਰਣੇ ॥
Jam Kai Panthh N Paaeeahi Fir Naahee Maranae ||
जम कै पंथि न पाईअहि फिरि नाही मरणे ॥
They are not placed upon the path of Death, and they shall not have to die again.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਇਆ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਹੀ ਜਰਣੇ ॥
Jis No Aaeiaa Praem Ras Thisai Hee Jaranae ||
जिस नो आइआ प्रेम रसु तिसै ही जरणे ॥
One who comes to savor the Lord's Love experiences it.
ਬਾਣੀ ਉਚਰਹਿ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਅਮਿਉ ਚਲਹਿ ਝਰਣੇ ॥
Baanee Oucharehi Saadhh Jan Amio Chalehi Jharanae ||
बाणी उचरहि साध जन अमिउ चलहि झरणे ॥
The Holy beings chant the Bani of the Word, like nectar flowing from a spring.
ਪੇਖਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਧਰਣੇ ॥੯॥
Paekh Dharasan Naanak Jeeviaa Man Andhar Dhharanae ||9||
पेखि दरसनु नानकु जीविआ मन अंदरि धरणे ॥९॥
Nanak lives by beholding the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of those who have implanted the Lord's Name within their minds. ||9||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਦੂਖਾ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਾਸੁ ॥
Sathigur Poorai Saeviai Dhookhaa Kaa Hoe Naas ||
सतिगुरि पूरै सेविऐ दूखा का होइ नासु ॥
Serving the Perfect True Guru, suffering ends.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਅਰਾਧਿਐ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਵੈ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
Naanak Naam Araadhhiai Kaaraj Aavai Raas ||1||
नानक नामि अराधिऐ कारजु आवै रासि ॥१॥
O Nanak, worshipping the Naam in adoration, one's affairs come to be resolved. ||1||

Jis Simarath Sankatt Shhuttehi Anadh Mangal Bisraam ||
जिसु सिमरत संकट छुटहि अनद मंगल बिस्राम ॥
Remembering Him in meditation, misfortune departs, and one comes to abide in peace and bliss.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਪੀਐ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਬਿਸਰਉ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੨॥
Naanak Japeeai Sadhaa Har Nimakh N Bisaro Naam ||2||
नानक जपीऐ सदा हरि निमख न बिसरउ नामु ॥२॥
O Nanak, meditate forever on the Lord - do not forget Him, even for an instant. ||2||

तिन की सोभा किआ गणी जिनी हरि हरि लधा ॥
How can I estimate the glory of those, who have found the Lord, Har, Har?
ਸਾਧਾ ਸਰਣੀ ਜੋ ਪਵੈ ਸੋ ਛੁਟੈ ਬਧਾ ॥
Saadhhaa Saranee Jo Pavai S Shhuttai Badhhaa ||
साधा सरणी जो पवै सो छुटै बधा ॥
One who seeks the Sanctuary of the Holy is released from bondage.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀਐ ਜੋਨਿ ਗਰਭਿ ਨ ਦਧਾ ॥
Gun Gaavai Abinaaseeai Jon Garabh N Dhadhhaa ||
गुण गावै अबिनासीऐ जोनि गरभि न दधा ॥
One who sings the Glorious Praises of the Imperishable Lord does not burn in the womb of reincarnation.
ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪੜਿ ਬੁਝਿ ਸਮਧਾ ॥
Gur Bhaettiaa Paarabreham Har Parr Bujh Samadhhaa ||
गुरु भेटिआ पारब्रहमु हरि पड़ि बुझि समधा ॥
One who meets the Guru and the Supreme Lord God, who reads and understands, enters the state of Samaadhi.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਧਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਧਾ ॥੧੦॥
Naanak Paaeiaa So Dhhanee Har Agam Agadhhaa ||10||
नानक पाइआ सो धणी हरि अगम अगधा ॥१०॥
Nanak has obtained that Lord Master, who is inaccessible and unfathomable. ||10||

Kaam N Karehee Aapanaa Firehi Avathaa Loe ||
कामु न करही आपणा फिरहि अवता लोइ ॥
People do not perform their duties, but instead, they wander around aimlessly.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਇ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਕਿਨੇਹਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
Naanak Naae Visaariai Sukh Kinaehaa Hoe ||1||
नानक नाइ विसारिऐ सुखु किनेहा होइ ॥१॥
O Nanak, if they forget the Name, how can they ever find peace? ||1||

ਬਿਖੈ ਕਉੜਤਣਿ ਸਗਲ ਮਾਹਿ ਜਗਤਿ ਰਹੀ ਲਪਟਾਇ ॥
Bikhai Kourrathan Sagal Maahi Jagath Rehee Lapattaae ||
बिखै कउड़तणि सगल माहि जगति रही लपटाइ ॥
The bitter poison of corruption is everywhere; it clings to the substance of the world.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿਆ ਮੀਠਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੨॥
Naanak Jan Veechaariaa Meethaa Har Kaa Naao ||2||
नानक जनि वीचारिआ मीठा हरि का नाउ ॥२॥
O Nanak, the humble being has realized that the Name of the Lord alone is sweet. ||2||

ਇਹ ਨੀਸਾਣੀ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਤਰੀਐ ॥
Eih Neesaanee Saadhh Kee Jis Bhaettath Thareeai ||
इह नीसाणी साध की जिसु भेटत तरीऐ ॥
This is the distinguishing sign of the Holy Saint, that by meeting with him, one is saved.
ਜਮਕੰਕਰੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਰੀਐ ॥
Jamakankar Naerr N Aavee Fir Bahurr N Mareeai ||
जमकंकरु नेड़ि न आवई फिरि बहुड़ि न मरीऐ ॥
The Messenger of Death does not come near him; he never has to die again.
ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਸੋ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਰੀਐ ॥
Bhav Saagar Sansaar Bikh So Paar Outhareeai ||
भव सागरु संसारु बिखु सो पारि उतरीऐ ॥
He crosses over the terrifying, poisonous world-ocean.
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੁੰਫਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਲ ਹਰਿ ਸਭ ਮਲੁ ਪਰਹਰੀਐ ॥
Har Gun Gunfahu Man Maal Har Sabh Mal Parehareeai ||
हरि गुण गु्मफहु मनि माल हरि सभ मलु परहरीऐ ॥
So weave the garland of the Lord's Glorious Praises into your mind, and all your filth shall be washed away.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਰਹਰੀਐ ॥੧੧॥
Naanak Preetham Mil Rehae Paarabreham Narehareeai ||11||
नानक प्रीतम मिलि रहे पारब्रहम नरहरीऐ ॥११॥
Nanak remains blended with his Beloved, the Supreme Lord God. ||11||

नानक आए से परवाणु है जिन हरि वुठा चिति ॥
O Nanak, approved is the birth of those, within whose consciousness the Lord abides.
ਗਾਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਅਲ ਪਲਾਲੀਆ ਕੰਮਿ ਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਮਿਤ ॥੧॥
Gaalhee Al Palaaleeaa Kanm N Aavehi Mith ||1||
गाल्ही अल पलालीआ कमि न आवहि मित ॥१॥
Useless talk and babbling is useless, my friend. ||1||

पारब्रहमु प्रभु द्रिसटी आइआ पूरन अगम बिसमाद ॥
I have come to see the Supreme Lord God, the Perfect, Inaccessible, Wonderful Lord.
