जिसु प्रसादि सभु जगतु तराइआ ॥
By his grace, the whole world is saved.
ਜਨ ਆਵਨ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
Jan Aavan Kaa Eihai Suaao ||
जन आवन का इहै सुआउ ॥
This is his purpose in life;
ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
Jan Kai Sang Chith Aavai Naao ||
जन कै संगि चिति आवै नाउ ॥
In the Company of this humble servant, the Lord's Name comes to mind.
ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
Aap Mukath Mukath Karai Sansaar ||
आपि मुकतु मुकतु करै संसारु ॥
He Himself is liberated, and He liberates the universe.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥੮॥੨੩॥

पूरा प्रभु आराधिआ पूरा जा का नाउ ॥
I worship and adore the Perfect Lord God. Perfect is His Name.

पारब्रहमु निकटि करि पेखु ॥
See the Supreme Lord God near you.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
Saas Saas Simarahu Gobindh ||
सासि सासि सिमरहु गोबिंद ॥
With each and every breath, meditate in remembrance on the Lord of the Universe,
ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰ ਕੀ ਉਤਰੈ ਚਿੰਦ ॥
Man Anthar Kee Outharai Chindh ||
मन अंतर की उतरै चिंद ॥
And the anxiety within your mind shall depart.
ਆਸ ਅਨਿਤ ਤਿਆਗਹੁ ਤਰੰਗ ॥
Aas Anith Thiaagahu Tharang ||
आस अनित तिआगहु तरंग ॥
Abandon the waves of fleeting desire,
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਨ ਮੰਗ ॥
Santh Janaa Kee Dhhoor Man Mang ||
संत जना की धूरि मन मंग ॥
And pray for the dust of the feet of the Saints.
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਹੁ ॥
Aap Shhodd Baenathee Karahu ||
आपु छोडि बेनती करहु ॥
Renounce your selfishness and conceit and offer your prayers.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਹੁ ॥
Saadhhasang Agan Saagar Tharahu ||
साधसंगि अगनि सागरु तरहु ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, cross over the ocean of fire.
ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਕੇ ਭਰਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
Har Dhhan Kae Bhar Laehu Bhanddaar ||
हरि धन के भरि लेहु भंडार ॥
Fill your stores with the wealth of the Lord.

नरक निवारि उधारहु जीउ ॥
You shall be spared from hell - save your soul!

गुन गोबिंद अम्रित रसु पीउ ॥
Drink in the ambrosial essence of the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.

चिति चितवहु नाराइण एक ॥
Focus your consciousness on the One, the All-pervading Lord

एक रूप जा के रंग अनेक ॥
He has One Form, but He has many manifestations.

Sustainer of the Universe, Lord of the world, Kind to the poor,

दुख भंजन पूरन किरपाल ॥
Destroyer of sorrow, perfectly Merciful.
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਾਰੰ ਬਾਰ ॥
Simar Simar Naam Baaran Baar ||
सिमरि सिमरि नामु बारं बार ॥
Meditate, meditate in remembrance on the Naam, again and again.

These are priceless rubies and gems.
ਸੁਨਤ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਹੋਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥
Sunath Kamaavath Hoth Oudhhaar ||
सुनत कमावत होत उधार ॥
One who listens and acts on them is saved.
ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਲੋਕਹ ਨਿਸਤਾਰ ॥
Aap Tharai Lokeh Nisathaar ||
आपि तरै लोकह निसतार ॥
He himself swims across, and saves others as well.
ਸਫਲ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
Safal Jeevan Safal Thaa Kaa Sang ||
सफल जीवनु सफलु ता का संगु ॥
His life is prosperous, and his company is fruitful;
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
Jaa Kai Man Laagaa Har Rang ||
जा कै मनि लागा हरि रंगु ॥
His mind is imbued with the love of the Lord.
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਵਾਜੈ ॥
Jai Jai Sabadh Anaahadh Vaajai ||
जै जै सबदु अनाहदु वाजै ॥
Hail, hail to him, for whom the sound current of the Shabad vibrates.
ਸੁਨਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਅਨਦ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗਾਜੈ ॥
Sun Sun Anadh Karae Prabh Gaajai ||
सुनि सुनि अनद करे प्रभु गाजै ॥
Hearing it again and again, he is in bliss, proclaiming God's Praises.
ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਮਹਾਂਤ ਕੈ ਮਾਥੇ ॥
Pragattae Gupaal Mehaanth Kai Maathhae ||
प्रगटे गुपाल महांत कै माथे ॥
The Lord radiates from the foreheads of the Holy.
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਧਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਾਥੇ ॥੩॥
Naanak Oudhharae Thin Kai Saathhae ||3||
नानक उधरे तिन कै साथे ॥३॥
Nanak is saved in their company. ||3||
ਸਰਨਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਰਨੀ ਆਏ ॥
Saran Jog Sun Saranee Aaeae ||
सरनि जोगु सुनि सरनी आए ॥
Hearing that He can give Sanctuary, I have come seeking His Sanctuary.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Prabh Aap Milaaeae ||
करि किरपा प्रभ आप मिलाए ॥
Bestowing His Mercy, God has blended me with Himself.
ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ਬੈਰ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਰੇਨ ॥
Mitt Geae Bair Bheae Sabh Raen ||
मिटि गए बैर भए सभ रेन ॥
Hatred is gone, and I have become the dust of all.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਲੈਨ ॥

अम्रित नामु साधसंगि लैन ॥
I have received the Ambrosial Naam in the Company of the Holy.
ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥

सुप्रसंन भए गुरदेव ॥
The Divine Guru is perfectly pleased;
ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥
Pooran Hoee Saevak Kee Saev ||
पूरन होई सेवक की सेव ॥
The service of His servant has been rewarded.
ਆਲ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਤੇ ॥
Aal Janjaal Bikaar Thae Rehathae ||
आल जंजाल बिकार ते रहते ॥
I have been released from worldly entanglements and corruption,
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਕਹਤੇ ॥
Raam Naam Sun Rasanaa Kehathae ||
राम नाम सुनि रसना कहते ॥
Hearing the Lord's Name and chanting it with my tongue.
ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੁ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥

करि प्रसादु दइआ प्रभि धारी ॥
By His Grace, God has bestowed His Mercy.

O Nanak, my merchandise has arrived save and sound. ||4||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤ ॥

प्रभ की उसतति करहु संत मीत ॥
Sing the Praises of God, O Saints, O friends,
ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਏਕਾਗਰ ਚੀਤ ॥
Saavadhhaan Eaekaagar Cheeth ||
सावधान एकागर चीत ॥
With total concentration and one-pointedness of mind.
ਸੁਖਮਨੀ ਸਹਜ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਨ ਨਾਮ ॥
Sukhamanee Sehaj Gobindh Gun Naam ||
सुखमनी सहज गोबिंद गुन नाम ॥
Sukhmani is the peaceful ease, the Glory of God, the Naam.
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
Jis Man Basai S Hoth Nidhhaan ||
जिसु मनि बसै सु होत निधान ॥
When it abides in the mind, one becomes wealthy.
ਸਰਬ ਇਛਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
Sarab Eishhaa Thaa Kee Pooran Hoe ||
सरब इछा ता की पूरन होइ ॥
All desires are fulfilled.
ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਸਭ ਲੋਇ ॥
Pradhhaan Purakh Pragatt Sabh Loe ||
प्रधान पुरखु प्रगटु सभ लोइ ॥
One becomes the most respected person, famous all over the world.
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਪਾਏ ਅਸਥਾਨੁ ॥
Sabh Thae Ooch Paaeae Asathhaan ||
सभ ते ऊच पाए असथानु ॥
He obtains the highest place of all.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨੁ ॥
Bahur N Hovai Aavan Jaan ||
बहुरि न होवै आवन जानु ॥
He does not come and go in reincarnation any longer.
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟਿ ਚਲੈ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
Har Dhhan Khaatt Chalai Jan Soe ||
हरि धनु खाटि चलै जनु सोइ ॥
One who departs, after earning the wealth of the Lord's Name,
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੫॥

Comfort, peace and tranquility, wealth and the nine treasures;
ਬੁਧਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਰਬ ਤਹ ਸਿਧਿ ॥

बुधि गिआनु सरब तह सिधि ॥
Wisdom, knowledge, and all spiritual powers;
