Roop Heen Budhh Bal Heenee Mohi Paradhaesan Dhoor Thae Aaee ||1||
रूप हीन बुधि बल हीनी मोहि परदेसनि दूर ते आई ॥१॥
I have no beauty, understanding or strength; I am a stranger, from far away. ||1||
ਨਾਹਿਨ ਦਰਬੁ ਨ ਜੋਬਨ ਮਾਤੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੀ ਕਰਹੁ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨॥

नाहिन दरबु न जोबन माती मोहि अनाथ की करहु समाई ॥२॥
I am not wealthy or youthful. I am an orphan - please, unite me with Yourself. ||2||
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਭਈ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਫਿਰਤ ਤਿਸਾਈ ॥੩॥
Khojath Khojath Bhee Bairaagan Prabh Dharasan Ko Ho Firath Thisaaee ||3||
खोजत खोजत भई बैरागनि प्रभ दरसन कउ हउ फिरत तिसाई ॥३॥
Searching and searching, I have become a renunciate, free of desire. I wander around, searching for the Blessed Vision of God's Darshan. ||3||

Prabh Milabae Ko Preeth Man Laagee ||
प्रभ मिलबे कउ प्रीति मनि लागी ॥
The loving desire to meet my Beloved has arisen within my mind.
ਪਾਇ ਲਗਉ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੋਊ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Paae Lago Mohi Karo Baenathee Kooo Santh Milai Baddabhaagee ||1|| Rehaao ||
पाइ लगउ मोहि करउ बेनती कोऊ संतु मिलै बडभागी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I touch His Feet, and offer my prayer to Him. If only I had the great good fortune to meet the Saint. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਖਉ ਆਗੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥
Man Arapo Dhhan Raakho Aagai Man Kee Math Mohi Sagal Thiaagee ||
मनु अरपउ धनु राखउ आगै मन की मति मोहि सगल तिआगी ॥
I surrender my mind to Him; I place my wealth before Him. I totally renounce my selfish ways.
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਫਿਰਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਿਛੈ ਵਿਰਾਗੀ ॥੧॥
Jo Prabh Kee Har Kathhaa Sunaavai Anadhin Firo This Pishhai Viraagee ||1||
जो प्रभ की हरि कथा सुनावै अनदिनु फिरउ तिसु पिछै विरागी ॥१॥
One who teaches me the Sermon of the Lord God - night and day, I shall follow Him. ||1||

पूरब करम अंकुर जब प्रगटे भेटिओ पुरखु रसिक बैरागी ॥
When the seed of the karma of past actions sprouted, I met the Lord; He is both the Enjoyer and the Renunciate.
ਮਿਟਿਓ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਮਿਲਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਗੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੧੯॥

मिटिओ अंधेरु मिलत हरि नानक जनम जनम की सोई जागी ॥२॥२॥११९॥
My darkness was dispelled when I met the Lord. O Nanak, after being asleep for countless incarnations, I have awakened. ||2||2||119||

Come out, O soul-bird, and let the meditative remembrance of the Lord be your wings.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਰਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਹੀਅਰੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

मिलि साधू सरणि गहु पूरन राम रतनु हीअरे संगि राखु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Meet the Holy Saint, take to His Sanctuary, and keep the perfect jewel of the Lord enshrined in your heart. ||1||Pause||
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੀ ਕੂਈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਰਸ ਪੰਕਜ ਅਤਿ ਤੀਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਣ ਮੋਹ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ ॥
Bhram Kee Kooee Thrisanaa Ras Pankaj Ath Theekhyan Moh Kee Faas ||
भ्रम की कूई त्रिसना रस पंकज अति तीख्यण मोह की फास ॥
Superstition is the well, thirst for pleasure is the mud, and emotional attachment is the noose, so tight around your neck.
ਕਾਟਨਹਾਰ ਜਗਤ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਰਹੁ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥੧॥
Kaattanehaar Jagath Gur Gobidh Charan Kamal Thaa Kae Karahu Nivaas ||1||
काटनहार जगत गुर गोबिद चरन कमल ता के करहु निवास ॥१॥
The only one who can cut this is the Guru of the World, the Lord of the Universe. So let yourself dwell at His Lotus Feet. ||1||

हरि पेखन कउ सिमरत मनु मेरा ॥
My mind yearns to behold the Lord in meditation.
ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨੀ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਨੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Aas Piaasee Chithavo Dhin Rainee Hai Koee Santh Milaavai Naeraa ||1|| Rehaao ||
आस पिआसी चितवउ दिनु रैनी है कोई संतु मिलावै नेरा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I think of Him, I hope and thirst for Him, day and night; is there any Saint who may bring Him near me? ||1||Pause||
ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਉ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੀ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਰਉ ਨਿਹੋਰਾ ॥
Saevaa Karo Dhaas Dhaasan Kee Anik Bhaanth This Karo Nihoraa ||
सेवा करउ दास दासन की अनिक भांति तिसु करउ निहोरा ॥
I serve the slaves of His slaves; in so many ways, I beg of Him.
ਤੁਲਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਤੋਲੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਗਲੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸ ਸਭੋ ਹੀ ਥੋਰਾ ॥੧॥
Thulaa Dhhaar Tholae Sukh Sagalae Bin Har Dharas Sabho Hee Thhoraa ||1||
तुला धारि तोले सुख सगले बिनु हरि दरस सभो ही थोरा ॥१॥
Setting them upon the scale, I have weighed all comforts and pleasures; without the Lord's Blessed Vision, they are all totally inadequate. ||1||
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਨ ਸਾਗਰ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੋ ਜਾਤ ਬਹੋਰਾ ॥

संत प्रसादि गाए गुन सागर जनम जनम को जात बहोरा ॥
By the Grace of the Saints, I sing the Praises of the Ocean of virtue; after countless incarnations, I have been released.

ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦੇਇ ਬਤਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Koee Aisaa Santh Sehaj Sukhadhaathaa Mohi Maarag Dhaee Bathaaee ||1|| Rehaao ||
कोई ऐसा संतु सहज सुखदाता मोहि मारगु देइ बताई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Is there any Saint, who can bestow such celestial peace, and show me the Way to Him? ||1||Pause||
