गुर निवि निवि लागउ पाइ देहु दिखारीआ ॥३॥
I bow low and fall at the Feet of the Guru; if only I could see the Lord! ||3||
ਮੈ ਕੀਏ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਅਨੇਕ ਇਕਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਆ ॥
Mai Keeeae Mithr Anaek Eikas Balihaareeaa ||
मै कीए मित्र अनेक इकसु बलिहारीआ ॥
I have made many friends, but I am a sacrifice to the One alone.
ਸਭ ਗੁਣ ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਨਾਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰ ਭੰਡਾਰੀਆ ॥੪॥
Sabh Gun Kis Hee Naahi Har Poor Bhanddaareeaa ||4||
सभ गुण किस ही नाहि हरि पूर भंडारीआ ॥४॥
No one has all virtues; the Lord alone is filled to overflowing with them. ||4||
ਚਹੁ ਦਿਸਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਉ ਸੂਖਿ ਸਵਾਰੀਆ ॥
Chahu Dhis Japeeai Naao Sookh Savaareeaa ||
चहु दिसि जपीऐ नाउ सूखि सवारीआ ॥
His Name is chanted in the four directions; those who chant it are embellished with peace.
ਮੈ ਆਹੀ ਓੜਿ ਤੁਹਾਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਆ ॥੫॥
Mai Aahee Ourr Thuhaar Naanak Balihaareeaa ||5||
मै आही ओड़ि तुहारि नानक बलिहारीआ ॥५॥
I seek Your Protection; Nanak is a sacrifice to You. ||5||
ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਢਿਓ ਭੁਜਾ ਪਸਾਰਿ ਮੋਹ ਕੂਪਾਰੀਆ ॥
Gur Kaadtiou Bhujaa Pasaar Moh Koopaareeaa ||
गुरि काढिओ भुजा पसारि मोह कूपारीआ ॥
The Guru reached out to me, and gave me His Arm; He lifted me up, out of the pit of emotional attachment.
ਮੈ ਜੀਤਿਓ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਹਾਰੀਆ ॥੬॥
Mai Jeethiou Janam Apaar Bahur N Haareeaa ||6||
मै जीतिओ जनमु अपारु बहुरि न हारीआ ॥६॥
I have won the incomparable life, and I shall not lose it again. ||6||
ਮੈ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਅਕਥੁ ਕਥਾਰੀਆ ॥
Mai Paaeiou Sarab Nidhhaan Akathh Kathhaareeaa ||
मै पाइओ सरब निधानु अकथु कथारीआ ॥
I have obtained the treasure of all; His Speech is unspoken and subtle.
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤ ਬਾਹ ਲੁਡਾਰੀਆ ॥੭॥

हरि दरगह सोभावंत बाह लुडारीआ ॥७॥
In the Court of the Lord, I am honored and glorified; I swing my arms in joy. ||7||

तजि हउमै गुर गिआन भजो ॥
Renounce your ego, and dwell upon the spiritual wisdom of the Guru.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਧੁਰਿ ਕਰਮ ਲਿਖਿਓ ॥੧॥
Mil Sangath Dhhur Karam Likhiou ||1||
मिलि संगति धुरि करम लिखिओ ॥१॥
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny, join the Sangat, the Holy Congregation. ||1||
ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਗਇਓ ॥
Jo Dheesai So Sang N Gaeiou ||
जो दीसै सो संगि न गइओ ॥
Whatever you see, shall not go with you.
ਸਾਕਤੁ ਮੂੜੁ ਲਗੇ ਪਚਿ ਮੁਇਓ ॥੨॥
Saakath Moorr Lagae Pach Mueiou ||2||
साकतु मूड़ु लगे पचि मुइओ ॥२॥
The foolish, faithless cynics are attached - they waste away and die. ||2||
ਮੋਹਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਓ ॥

मोहन नामु सदा रवि रहिओ ॥
The Name of the Fascinating Lord is all-pervading forever.
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕਿਨੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲਹਿਓ ॥੩॥

कोटि मधे किनै गुरमुखि लहिओ ॥३॥
Among millions, how rare is that Gurmukh who attains the Name. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਰਿ ਨਮੋ ਨਮੋ ॥
Har Santhan Kar Namo Namo ||
हरि संतन करि नमो नमो ॥
Greet the Lord's Saints humbly, with deep respect.
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਸੁਖੋ ॥੪॥
No Nidhh Paavehi Athul Sukho ||4||
नउ निधि पावहि अतुलु सुखो ॥४॥
You shall obtain the nine treasures, and receive infinite peace. ||4||
ਨੈਨ ਅਲੋਵਉ ਸਾਧ ਜਨੋ ॥
Nain Alovo Saadhh Jano ||
नैन अलोवउ साध जनो ॥
With your eyes, behold the holy people;
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਧੋ ॥੫॥
Hiradhai Gaavahu Naam Nidhho ||5||
हिरदै गावहु नाम निधो ॥५॥
In your heart, sing the treasure of the Naam. ||5||
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਤਜੋ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Lobh Mohu Thajo ||
काम क्रोध लोभु मोहु तजो ॥
Abandon sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਹੁ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਓ ॥੬॥
Janam Maran Dhuhu Thae Rehiou ||6||
जनम मरन दुहु ते रहिओ ॥६॥
Thus you shall be rid of both birth and death. ||6||
ਦੂਖੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਘਰ ਤੇ ਮਿਟਿਓ ॥
Dhookh Andhhaeraa Ghar Thae Mittiou ||
दूखु अंधेरा घर ते मिटिओ ॥
Pain and darkness shall depart from your home,
ਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਓ ਦੀਪ ਬਲਿਓ ॥੭॥
Gur Giaan Dhrirraaeiou Dheep Baliou ||7||
गुरि गिआनु द्रिड़ाइओ दीप बलिओ ॥७॥
When the Guru implants spiritual wisdom within you, and lights that lamp. ||7||
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਸੋ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਿਓ ॥
Jin Saeviaa So Paar Pariou ||
जिनि सेविआ सो पारि परिओ ॥
One who serves the Lord crosses over to the other side.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਿਓ ॥੮॥੧॥੧੩॥

Dwelling upon the Lord, Har, Har, and the Guru, the Guru, my doubts have been dispelled.
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Balatho Jalatho Thoukiaa Gur Chandhan Seethalaaeiou ||1||
बलतो जलतो तउकिआ गुर चंदनु सीतलाइओ ॥१॥
I was burning, on fire, and the Guru poured water on me; He is cooling and soothing, like the sandalwood tree. ||1||
ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਦੀਪਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
Agiaan Andhhaeraa Mitt Gaeiaa Gur Giaan Dheepaaeiou ||2||
अगिआन अंधेरा मिटि गइआ गुर गिआनु दीपाइओ ॥२॥
The darkness of ignorance has been dispelled; the Guru has lit the lamp of spiritual wisdom. ||2||
ਪਾਵਕੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਗਹਰੋ ਚਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਨਾਵ ਤਰਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
Paavak Saagar Geharo Char Santhan Naav Tharaaeiou ||3||
पावकु सागरु गहरो चरि संतन नाव तराइओ ॥३॥
The ocean of fire is so deep; the Saints have crossed over, in the boat of the Lord's Name. ||3||
ਨਾ ਹਮ ਕਰਮ ਨ ਧਰਮ ਸੁਚ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਆਪਾਇਓ ॥੪॥
Naa Ham Karam N Dhharam Such Prabh Gehi Bhujaa Aapaaeiou ||4||
ना हम करम न धरम सुच प्रभि गहि भुजा आपाइओ ॥४॥
I have no good karma; I have no Dharmic faith or purity. But God has taken me by the arm, and made me His own. ||4||
ਭਉ ਖੰਡਨੁ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੋ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇਓ ॥੫॥
Bho Khanddan Dhukh Bhanjano Bhagath Vashhal Har Naaeiou ||5||
भउ खंडनु दुख भंजनो भगति वछल हरि नाइओ ॥५॥
The Destroyer of fear, the Dispeller of pain, the Lover of His Saints - these are the Names of the Lord. ||5||
ਅਨਾਥਹ ਨਾਥ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦੀਨ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥ ਸੰਤ ਓਟਾਇਓ ॥੬॥
Anaathheh Naathh Kirapaal Dheen Sanmrithh Santh Outtaaeiou ||6||
अनाथह नाथ क्रिपाल दीन सम्रिथ संत ओटाइओ ॥६॥
He is the Master of the masterless, Merciful to the meek, All-powerful, the Support of His Saints. ||6||
ਨਿਰਗੁਨੀਆਰੇ ਕੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਓ ॥੭॥
Niraguneeaarae Kee Baenathee Dhaehu Dharas Har Raaeiou ||7||
निरगुनीआरे की बेनती देहु दरसु हरि राइओ ॥७॥
I am worthless - I offer this prayer, O my Lord King: ""Please, grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.""||7||
