Thaeraa Bhaanaa Thoohai Manaaeihi Jis No Hohi Dhaeiaalaa ||
तेरा भाणा तूहै मनाइहि जिस नो होहि दइआला ॥
He alone obeys Your Will, O Lord, unto whom You are Merciful.

साई भगति जो तुधु भावै तूं सरब जीआ प्रतिपाला ॥१॥
That alone is devotional worship, which is pleasing to Your Will. You are the Cherisher of all beings. ||1||

O my Sovereign Lord, You are the Support of the Saints.

जो तुधु भावै सो परवाणु मनि तनि तूहै अधारी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Whatever pleases You, they accept. You are the sustenance of their minds and bodies. ||1||Pause||

भगत तेरे सभि प्राणपति प्रीतम तूं भगतन का पिआरा ॥२॥
You are the Beloved Lord of life of all Your devotees; You are the Beloved of Your devotees. ||2||
ਤੂ ਅਥਾਹੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਅਤਿ ਊਚਾ ਕੋਈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਾਤੇ ॥

तू अथाहु अपारु अति ऊचा कोई अवरु न तेरी भाते ॥
You are unfathomable, infinite, lofty and exalted. There is no one else like You.
ਇਹ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਿਸਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ॥੩॥

इह अरदासि हमारी सुआमी विसरु नाही सुखदाते ॥३॥
This is my prayer, O my Lord and Master; may I never forget You, O Peace-giving Lord. ||3||

दिनु रैणि सासि सासि गुण गावा जे सुआमी तुधु भावा ॥
Day and night, with each and every breath, I sing Your Glorious Praises, if it is pleasing to Your Will.

विसरहि नाही जितु तू कबहू सो थानु तेरा केहा ॥
Where is that place, where You are never forgotten, Lord?
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਜਿਤੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਵੈ ਦੇਹਾ ॥੧॥

आठ पहर जितु तुधु धिआई निरमल होवै देहा ॥१॥
Twenty-four hours a day, they meditate on You, and their bodies become spotless and pure. ||1||

ਬੇਦ ਪੜੇ ਪੜਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਹਾਰੇ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
Baedh Parrae Parr Brehamae Haarae Eik Thil Nehee Keemath Paaee ||
बेद पड़े पड़ि ब्रहमे हारे इकु तिलु नही कीमति पाई ॥
Reading and reciting the Vedas, Brahma grew weary, but he did not find even a tiny bit of God's worth.
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੇ ਤੇ ਭੀ ਮੋਹੇ ਮਾਈ ॥੨॥
Saadhhik Sidhh Firehi Bilalaathae Thae Bhee Mohae Maaee ||2||
साधिक सिध फिरहि बिललाते ते भी मोहे माई ॥२॥
The seekers and Siddhas wander around bewailing; they too are enticed by Maya. ||2||
ਦਸ ਅਉਤਾਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤੇ ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਅਉਧੂਤਾ ॥
Dhas Aouthaar Raajae Hoe Varathae Mehaadhaev Aoudhhoothaa ||
दस अउतार राजे होइ वरते महादेव अउधूता ॥
There were ten regal incarnations of Vishnu; and then there was Shiva, the renunciate.
ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਭੀ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਤੇਰਾ ਲਾਇ ਥਕੇ ਬਿਭੂਤਾ ॥੩॥

तिन्ह भी अंतु न पाइओ तेरा लाइ थके बिभूता ॥३॥
He did not find Your limits either, although he grew weary of smearing his body with ashes. ||3||

सहज सूख आनंद नाम रस हरि संती मंगलु गाइआ ॥
Peace, poise and bliss are found in the subtle essence of the Naam. The Lord's Saints sing the songs of joy.

करम धरम पाखंड जो दीसहि तिन जमु जागाती लूटै ॥
The religious rites, rituals and hypocrisies which are seen, are plundered by the Messenger of Death, the ultimate tax collector.
ਨਿਰਬਾਣ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਾ ਨਿਮਖ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਜਿਤੁ ਛੂਟੈ ॥੧॥

निरबाण कीरतनु गावहु करते का निमख सिमरत जितु छूटै ॥१॥
In the state of Nirvaanaa, sing the Kirtan of the Creator's Praises; contemplating Him in meditation, even for an instant, one is saved. ||1||

कोटि तीरथ मजन इसनाना इसु कलि महि मैलु भरीजै ॥
Millions of cleansing baths at sacred shrines of pilgrimage only fill the mortal with filth in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga.

ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਭਿ ਸਾਸਤ ਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਪੜਿਆ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
Baedh Kathaeb Simrith Sabh Saasath Einh Parriaa Mukath N Hoee ||
बेद कतेब सिम्रिति सभि सासत इन्ह पड़िआ मुकति न होई ॥
One may read all the books of the Vedas, the Bible, the Simritees and the Shaastras, but they will not bring liberation.
ਏਕੁ ਅਖਰੁ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਪੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥

एकु अखरु जो गुरमुखि जापै तिस की निरमल सोई ॥३॥
One who, as Gurmukh, chants the One Word, acquires a spotlessly pure reputation. ||3||
ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਸੂਦ ਵੈਸ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਚਹੁ ਵਰਨਾ ਕਉ ਸਾਝਾ ॥
Khathree Braahaman Soodh Vais Oupadhaes Chahu Varanaa Ko Saajhaa ||
खत्री ब्राहमण सूद वैस उपदेसु चहु वरना कउ साझा ॥
The four castes - the Kh'shaatriyas, Brahmins, Soodras and Vaishyas - are equal in respect to the teachings.
