Har Mangal Ras Rasan Rasaaeae Naanak Naam Pragaasaa ||2||
हरि मंगल रसि रसन रसाए नानक नामु प्रगासा ॥२॥
My tongue tastes the taste of the Lord's joyous song; O Nanak, the Naam shines forth brightly. ||2||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
Anthar Rathan Beechaarae ||
अंतरि रतनु बीचारे ॥
The Gurmukh loves the Name of the Lord;
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
Guramukh Naam Piaarae ||
गुरमुखि नामु पिआरे ॥
Deep within, she contemplates the jewel of the Naam.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅਧੇਰੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
Har Naam Piaarae Sabadh Nisathaarae Agiaan Adhhaer Gavaaeiaa ||
हरि नामु पिआरे सबदि निसतारे अगिआनु अधेरु गवाइआ ॥
Those who love the Lord's Name are emancipated through the Word of the Shabad. The darkness of ignorance is dispelled.
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡੁ ਬਲਿਆ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਘਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਸੋਹਾਇਆ ॥
Giaan Prachandd Baliaa Ghatt Chaanan Ghar Mandhar Sohaaeiaa ||
गिआनु प्रचंडु बलिआ घटि चानणु घर मंदर सोहाइआ ॥
Spiritual wisdom burns brilliantly, illuminating the heart; their homes and temples are embellished and blessed.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਿ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਚੇ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
Than Man Arap Seegaar Banaaeae Har Prabh Saachae Bhaaeiaa ||
तनु मनु अरपि सीगार बणाए हरि प्रभ साचे भाइआ ॥
I have made my body and mind into adornments, and dedicated them to the True Lord God, pleasing Him.
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਪਰੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
Jo Prabh Kehai Soee Par Keejai Naanak Ank Samaaeiaa ||3||
जो प्रभु कहै सोई परु कीजै नानक अंकि समाइआ ॥३॥
Whatever God says, I gladly do. O Nanak, I have merged into the fiber of His Being. ||3||

हरि प्रभि काजु रचाइआ ॥
The Lord God has arranged the marriage ceremony;
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵੀਆਹਣਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
Guramukh Veeaahan Aaeiaa ||
गुरमुखि वीआहणि आइआ ॥
He has come to marry the Gurmukh.
ਵੀਆਹਣਿ ਆਇਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
Veeaahan Aaeiaa Guramukh Har Paaeiaa Saa Dhhan Kanth Piaaree ||
वीआहणि आइआ गुरमुखि हरि पाइआ सा धन कंत पिआरी ॥
He has come to marry the Gurmukh, who has found the Lord. That bride is very dear to her Lord.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
Santh Janaa Mil Mangal Gaaeae Har Jeeo Aap Savaaree ||
संत जना मिलि मंगल गाए हरि जीउ आपि सवारी ॥
The humble Saints join together and sing the songs of joy; the Dear Lord Himself has adorned the soul-bride.
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਏ ਅਪੂਰਬ ਜੰਞ ਬਣਾਈ ॥
Sur Nar Gan Gandhharab Mil Aaeae Apoorab Jannj Banaaee ||
सुरि नर गण गंधरब मिलि आए अपूरब जंञ बणाई ॥
The angels and mortal beings, the heavenly heralds and celestial singers, have come together and formed a wondrous wedding party.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥

Guramukh Mil Reheeai Ghar Vaajehi Sabadh Ghanaerae Raam ||
गुरमुखि मिलि रहीऐ घरि वाजहि सबद घनेरे राम ॥
Let us gather together as Gurmukh; within the home of our own heart, the Shabad vibrates and resonates.
ਸਬਦ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਥਾਈ ॥
Sabadh Ghanaerae Har Prabh Thaerae Thoo Karathaa Sabh Thhaaee ||
सबद घनेरे हरि प्रभ तेरे तू करता सभ थाई ॥
The many melodies of the Shabad are Yours, O Lord God; O Creator Lord, You are everywhere.
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਜਪੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
Ahinis Japee Sadhaa Saalaahee Saach Sabadh Liv Laaee ||
अहिनिसि जपी सदा सालाही साच सबदि लिव लाई ॥
Day and night, I chant His Praises forever, lovingly focusing on the True Word of the Shabad.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਰਹੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
Anadhin Sehaj Rehai Rang Raathaa Raam Naam Ridh Poojaa ||
अनदिनु सहजि रहै रंगि राता राम नामु रिद पूजा ॥
Night and day, I remain intuitively attuned to the Lord's Love; in my heart, I worship the Lord's Name.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥
Naanak Guramukh Eaek Pashhaanai Avar N Jaanai Dhoojaa ||1||
नानक गुरमुखि एकु पछाणै अवरु न जाणै दूजा ॥१॥
O Nanak, as Gurmukh, I have realized the One Lord; I do not know any other. ||1||
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
Sabh Mehi Rav Rehiaa So Prabh Antharajaamee Raam ||
सभ महि रवि रहिआ सो प्रभु अंतरजामी राम ॥
He is contained amongst all; He is God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਵੈ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
Gur Sabadh Ravai Rav Rehiaa So Prabh Maeraa Suaamee Raam ||
गुर सबदि रवै रवि रहिआ सो प्रभु मेरा सुआमी राम ॥
One who meditates and dwells upon God, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, knows that God, my Lord and Master, is pervading everywhere.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥
Prabh Maeraa Suaamee Antharajaamee Ghatt Ghatt Raviaa Soee ||
प्रभु मेरा सुआमी अंतरजामी घटि घटि रविआ सोई ॥
God, my Lord and Master, is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; He pervades and permeates each and every heart.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
Guramath Sach Paaeeai Sehaj Samaaeeai This Bin Avar N Koee ||
गुरमति सचु पाईऐ सहजि समाईऐ तिसु बिनु अवरु न कोई ॥
Through the Guru's Teachings, Truth is obtained, and then, one merges in celestial bliss. There is no other than Him.
ਸਹਜੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਾ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Sehajae Gun Gaavaa Jae Prabh Bhaavaa Aapae Leae Milaaeae ||
सहजे गुण गावा जे प्रभ भावा आपे लए मिलाए ॥
I sing His Praises with intuitive ease. If it pleases God, He shall unite me with Himself.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਜਾਪੈ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੨॥
Naanak So Prabh Sabadhae Jaapai Ahinis Naam Dhhiaaeae ||2||
नानक सो प्रभु सबदे जापै अहिनिसि नामु धिआए ॥२॥
O Nanak, through the Shabad, God is known; meditate on the Naam, day and night. ||2||
ਇਹੁ ਜਗੋ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
Eihu Jago Dhuthar Manamukh Paar N Paaee Raam ||
इहु जगो दुतरु मनमुखु पारि न पाई राम ॥
This world is treacherous and impassable; the self-willed manmukh cannot cross over.
ਅੰਤਰੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
Antharae Houmai Mamathaa Kaam Krodhh Chathuraaee Raam ||
अंतरे हउमै ममता कामु क्रोधु चतुराई राम ॥
Within him is egotism, self-conceit, sexual desire, anger and cleverness.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਈ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
Anthar Chathuraaee Thhaae N Paaee Birathhaa Janam Gavaaeiaa ||
अंतरि चतुराई थाइ न पाई बिरथा जनमु गवाइआ ॥
Within him is cleverness; he is not approved, and his life is uselessly wasted and lost.
ਜਮ ਮਗਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਵੈ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਇਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਇਆ ॥
Jam Mag Dhukh Paavai Chottaa Khaavai Anth Gaeiaa Pashhuthaaeiaa ||
जम मगि दुखु पावै चोटा खावै अंति गइआ पछुताइआ ॥
On the Path of Death, he suffers in pain, and must endure abuse; in the end, he departs regretfully.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਬੇਲੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਪੁਤੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਸੁਤੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
Bin Naavai Ko Baelee Naahee Puth Kuttanb Suth Bhaaee ||
बिनु नावै को बेली नाही पुतु कुट्मबु सुतु भाई ॥
Without the Name, he has no friends, no children, family or relatives.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਆਗੈ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
Naanak Maaeiaa Mohu Pasaaraa Aagai Saathh N Jaaee ||3||
नानक माइआ मोहु पसारा आगै साथि न जाई ॥३॥
O Nanak, the wealth of Maya, attachment and ostentatious shows - none of them shall go along with him to the world hereafter. ||3||
ਹਉ ਪੂਛਉ ਅਪਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਕਿਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਰੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
Ho Pooshho Apanaa Sathigur Dhaathaa Kin Bidhh Dhuthar Thareeai Raam ||
हउ पूछउ अपना सतिगुरु दाता किन बिधि दुतरु तरीऐ राम ॥
I ask my True Guru, the Giver, how to cross over the treacherous and difficult world-ocean.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ਚਲਹੁ ਜੀਵਤਿਆ ਇਵ ਮਰੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
Sathigur Bhaae Chalahu Jeevathiaa Eiv Mareeai Raam ||
सतिगुर भाइ चलहु जीवतिआ इव मरीऐ राम ॥
Walk in harmony with the True Guru's Will, and remain dead while yet alive.
ਜੀਵਤਿਆ ਮਰੀਐ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਰੀਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥
Jeevathiaa Mareeai Bhoujal Thareeai Guramukh Naam Samaavai ||
जीवतिआ मरीऐ भउजलु तरीऐ गुरमुखि नामि समावै ॥
Remaining dead while yet alive, cross over the terrifying world-ocean; as Gurmukh, merge in the Naam.
