ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕਿਨੈ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
Kott Madhhae Kinai Pashhaaniaa Har Naamaa Sach Soee ||
कोटि मधे किनै पछाणिआ हरि नामा सचु सोई ॥
Among millions, there is scarcely one who realizes the Name of the True Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥੩॥
Naanak Naam Milai Vaddiaaee Dhoojai Bhaae Path Khoee ||3||
नानक नामि मिलै वडिआई दूजै भाइ पति खोई ॥३॥
O Nanak, through the Naam, greatness is obtained; in the love of duality, all honor is lost. ||3||
ਭਗਤਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਵਖਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Bhagathaa Kai Ghar Kaaraj Saachaa Har Gun Sadhaa Vakhaanae Raam ||
भगता कै घरि कारजु साचा हरि गुण सदा वखाणे राम ॥
In the home of the devotees, is the joy of true marriage; they chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord forever.
ਭਗਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਦੀਆ ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Bhagath Khajaanaa Aapae Dheeaa Kaal Kanttak Maar Samaanae Raam ||
भगति खजाना आपे दीआ कालु कंटकु मारि समाणे राम ॥
He Himself blesses them with the treasure of devotion; conquering the thorny pain of death, they merge in the Lord.
ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Kaal Kanttak Maar Samaanae Har Man Bhaanae Naam Nidhhaan Sach Paaeiaa ||
कालु कंटकु मारि समाणे हरि मनि भाणे नामु निधानु सचु पाइआ ॥
Conquering the thorny pain of death, they merge in the Lord; they are pleasing to the Lord's Mind,and they obtain the true treasure of the Naam.
ਸਦਾ ਅਖੁਟੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਨਿਖੁਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ ॥
Sadhaa Akhutt Kadhae N Nikhuttai Har Dheeaa Sehaj Subhaaeiaa ||
सदा अखुटु कदे न निखुटै हरि दीआ सहजि सुभाइआ ॥
This treasure is inexhaustible; it will never be exhausted. The Lord automatically blesses them with it.
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਊਚੇ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਊਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥
Har Jan Oochae Sadh Hee Oochae Gur Kai Sabadh Suhaaeiaa ||
हरि जन ऊचे सद ही ऊचे गुर कै सबदि सुहाइआ ॥
The humble servants of the Lord are exalted and elevated, forever on high; they are adorned with the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੨॥
Naanak Aapae Bakhas Milaaeae Jug Jug Sobhaa Paaeiaa ||4||1||2||
नानक आपे बखसि मिलाए जुगि जुगि सोभा पाइआ ॥४॥१॥२॥
O Nanak, He Himself forgives them, and merges them with Himself; throughout the ages, they are glorified. ||4||1||2||

ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਜਿਥੈ ਸਚੇ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਵੀਚਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥
Sabadh Sachai Sach Sohilaa Jithhai Sachae Kaa Hoe Veechaaro Raam ||
सबदि सचै सचु सोहिला जिथै सचे का होइ वीचारो राम ॥
Through the True Word of the Shabad, true happiness prevails, there where the True Lord is contemplated.
ਹਉਮੈ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਾਚੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Houmai Sabh Kilavikh Kaattae Saach Rakhiaa Our Dhhaarae Raam ||
हउमै सभि किलविख काटे साचु रखिआ उरि धारे राम ॥
Egotism and all sins are eradicated, when one keeps the True Lord enshrined in the heart.
ਸਚੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਾਰੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
Sach Rakhiaa Our Dhhaarae Dhuthar Thaarae Fir Bhavajal Tharan N Hoee ||
सचु रखिआ उर धारे दुतरु तारे फिरि भवजलु तरणु न होई ॥
One who keeps the True Lord enshrined in the heart, crosses over the terrible and dreadful world-ocean; he shall not have to cross over it again.
ਸਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥
Sachaa Sathigur Sachee Baanee Jin Sach Vikhaaliaa Soee ||
सचा सतिगुरु सची बाणी जिनि सचु विखालिआ सोई ॥
True is the True Guru, and True is the Word of His Bani; through it, the True Lord is seen.
ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਸਚੁ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
Saachae Gun Gaavai Sach Samaavai Sach Vaekhai Sabh Soee ||
साचे गुण गावै सचि समावै सचु वेखै सभु सोई ॥
One who sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord merges in Truth; he beholds the True Lord everywhere.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਾਚੀ ਨਾਈ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥

नानक साचा साहिबु साची नाई सचु निसतारा होई ॥१॥
O Nanak, True is the Lord and Master, and True is His Name; through Truth, comes emancipation. ||1||

साचै सतिगुरि साचु बुझाइआ पति राखै सचु सोई राम ॥
The True Guru reveals the True Lord; the True Lord preserves our honor.
ਸਚਾ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
Sachaa Bhojan Bhaao Sachaa Hai Sachai Naam Sukh Hoee Raam ||
सचा भोजनु भाउ सचा है सचै नामि सुखु होई राम ॥
The true food is love for the True Lord; through the True Name, peace is obtained.
ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਗਰਭਿ ਨ ਜੂਨੀ ਵਾਸਾ ॥
Saachai Naam Sukh Hoee Marai N Koee Garabh N Joonee Vaasaa ||
साचै नामि सुखु होई मरै न कोई गरभि न जूनी वासा ॥
Through the True Name, the mortal finds peace; he shall never die, and never again enter the womb of reincarnation.
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥
Jothee Joth Milaaee Sach Samaaee Sach Naae Paragaasaa ||
जोती जोति मिलाई सचि समाई सचि नाइ परगासा ॥
His light blends with the Light, and he merges into the True Lord; he is illuminated and enlightened with the True Name.
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਸਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ॥
Jinee Sach Jaathaa Sae Sachae Hoeae Anadhin Sach Dhhiaaein ||
जिनी सचु जाता से सचे होए अनदिनु सचु धिआइनि ॥
Those who know the Truth are True; night and day, they meditate on Truth.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਨਾ ਵੀਛੁੜਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਨਿ ॥੨॥
Naanak Sach Naam Jin Hiradhai Vasiaa Naa Veeshhurr Dhukh Paaein ||2||
नानक सचु नामु जिन हिरदै वसिआ ना वीछुड़ि दुखु पाइनि ॥२॥
O Nanak, those whose hearts are filled with the True Name, never suffer the pains of separation. ||2||
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
Sachee Baanee Sachae Gun Gaavehi Thith Ghar Sohilaa Hoee Raam ||
सची बाणी सचे गुण गावहि तितु घरि सोहिला होई राम ॥
In that home, and in that heart, where the True Bani of the Lord's True Praises are sung, the songs of joy resound.
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਚੇ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
Niramal Gun Saachae Than Man Saachaa Vich Saachaa Purakh Prabh Soee Raam ||
निरमल गुण साचे तनु मनु साचा विचि साचा पुरखु प्रभु सोई राम ॥
Through the immaculate virtues of the True Lord, the body and mind are rendered True, and God, the True Primal Being, dwells within.
ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਚੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਜੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
Sabh Sach Varathai Sacho Bolai Jo Sach Karai S Hoee ||
सभु सचु वरतै सचो बोलै जो सचु करै सु होई ॥
Such a person practices only Truth, and speaks only Truth; whatever the True Lord does, that alone comes to pass.
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਸਚੁ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥
Jeh Dhaekhaa Theh Sach Pasariaa Avar N Dhoojaa Koee ||
जह देखा तह सचु पसरिआ अवरु न दूजा कोई ॥
Wherever I look, there I see the True Lord pervading; there is no other at all.
ਸਚੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਈ ॥
Sachae Oupajai Sach Samaavai Mar Janamai Dhoojaa Hoee ||
सचे उपजै सचि समावै मरि जनमै दूजा होई ॥
From the True Lord, we emanate, and into the True Lord, we shall merge; death and birth come from duality.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥
Naanak Sabh Kishh Aapae Karathaa Aap Karaavai Soee ||3||
नानक सभु किछु आपे करता आपि करावै सोई ॥३॥
O Nanak, He Himself does everything; He Himself is the Cause. ||3||
ਸਚੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਦਰਵਾਰੇ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Sachae Bhagath Sohehi Dharavaarae Sacho Sach Vakhaanae Raam ||
सचे भगत सोहहि दरवारे सचो सचु वखाणे राम ॥
The true devotees look beautiful in the Darbaar of the Lord's Court. They speak Truth, and only Truth.
ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰੇ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਾਚੋ ਆਪਿ ਪਛਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Ghatt Antharae Saachee Baanee Saacho Aap Pashhaanae Raam ||
घट अंतरे साची बाणी साचो आपि पछाणे राम ॥
Deep within the nucleus of their heart, is the True Word of the Lord's Bani. Through the Truth, they understand themselves.
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਤਾ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਈ ॥
Aap Pashhaanehi Thaa Sach Jaanehi Saachae Sojhee Hoee ||
आपु पछाणहि ता सचु जाणहि साचे सोझी होई ॥
They understand themselves, and so know the True Lord, through their true intuition.
ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੀ ਹੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਾਚੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
Sachaa Sabadh Sachee Hai Sobhaa Saachae Hee Sukh Hoee ||
सचा सबदु सची है सोभा साचे ही सुखु होई ॥
True is the Shabad, and True is its Glory; peace comes only from Truth.
ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
Saach Rathae Bhagath Eik Rangee Dhoojaa Rang N Koee ||
साचि रते भगत इक रंगी दूजा रंगु न कोई ॥
Imbued with Truth, the devotees love the One Lord; they do not love any other.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥
Naanak Jis Ko Masathak Likhiaa This Sach Paraapath Hoee ||4||2||3||
नानक जिस कउ मसतकि लिखिआ तिसु सचु परापति होई ॥४॥२॥३॥
O Nanak, he alone obtains the True Lord, who has such pre-ordained destiny written upon his forehead. ||4||2||3||

Jug Chaarae Dhhan Jae Bhavai Bin Sathigur Sohaag N Hoee Raam ||
जुग चारे धन जे भवै बिनु सतिगुर सोहागु न होई राम ॥
The soul-bride may wander throughout the four ages, but still, without the True Guru, she will not find her True Husband Lord.
