ਜਿਉ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੋਭ ਕਰੇ ਜਲੁ ਬਰਸੈ ਤਿਉ ਸਿਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਿਗਸਾਈ ॥੧੬॥
Jio Dhharathee Sobh Karae Jal Barasai Thio Sikh Gur Mil Bigasaaee ||16||
जिउ धरती सोभ करे जलु बरसै तिउ सिखु गुर मिलि बिगसाई ॥१६॥
Just as the earth looks beautiful when the rain falls, so does the Sikh blossom forth meeting the Guru. ||16||
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਵਰਤਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਨਉ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥੧੭॥
Saevak Kaa Hoe Saevak Varathaa Kar Kar Bino Bulaaee ||17||
सेवक का होइ सेवकु वरता करि करि बिनउ बुलाई ॥१७॥
I long to be the servant of Your servants; I call upon You reverently in prayer. ||17||
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਰ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੮॥
Naanak Kee Baenanthee Har Pehi Gur Mil Gur Sukh Paaee ||18||
नानक की बेनंती हरि पहि गुर मिलि गुर सुखु पाई ॥१८॥
Nanak offers this prayer to the Lord, that he may meet the Guru, and find peace. ||18||
ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਚੇਲਾ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਚੁ ਦੇ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧੯॥
Thoo Aapae Gur Chaelaa Hai Aapae Gur Vich Dhae Thujhehi Dhhiaaee ||19||
तू आपे गुरु चेला है आपे गुर विचु दे तुझहि धिआई ॥१९॥
You Yourself are the Guru, and You Yourself are the chaylaa, the disciple; through the Guru, I meditate on You. ||19||
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਤੂਹੈ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੨੦॥
Jo Thudhh Saevehi So Thoohai Hovehi Thudhh Saevak Paij Rakhaaee ||20||
जो तुधु सेवहि सो तूहै होवहि तुधु सेवक पैज रखाई ॥२०॥
Those who serve You, become You. You preserve the honor of Your servants. ||20||
ਭੰਡਾਰ ਭਰੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਵਾਈ ॥੨੧॥
Bhanddaar Bharae Bhagathee Har Thaerae Jis Bhaavai This Dhaevaaee ||21||
भंडार भरे भगती हरि तेरे जिसु भावै तिसु देवाई ॥२१॥
O Lord, Your devotional worship is a treasure over-flowing. One who loves You, is blessed with it. ||21||
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਰ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਸਭ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥੨੨॥
Jis Thoon Dhaehi Soee Jan Paaeae Hor Nihafal Sabh Chathuraaee ||22||
जिसु तूं देहि सोई जनु पाए होर निहफल सभ चतुराई ॥२२॥
That humble being alone receives it, unto whom You bestow it. All other clever tricks are fruitless. ||22||
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਗਾਈ ॥੨੩॥
Simar Simar Simar Gur Apunaa Soeiaa Man Jaagaaee ||23||
सिमरि सिमरि सिमरि गुरु अपुना सोइआ मनु जागाई ॥२३॥
Remembering, remembering, remembering my Guru in meditation, my sleeping mind is awakened. ||23||
ਇਕੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵੇਚਾਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੨੪॥
Eik Dhaan Mangai Naanak Vaechaaraa Har Dhaasan Dhaas Karaaee ||24||
इकु दानु मंगै नानकु वेचारा हरि दासनि दासु कराई ॥२४॥
Poor Nanak begs for this one blessing, that he may become the slave of the slaves of the Lord. ||24||
ਜੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਝਿੜਕੇ ਤ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਜੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਤ ਗੁਰ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੨੫॥
Jae Gur Jhirrakae Th Meethaa Laagai Jae Bakhasae Th Gur Vaddiaaee ||25||
जे गुरु झिड़के त मीठा लागै जे बखसे त गुर वडिआई ॥२५॥
Even if the Guru rebukes me, He still seems very sweet to me. And if He actually forgives me, that is the Guru's greatness. ||25||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਏ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੬॥
Guramukh Bolehi So Thhaae Paaeae Manamukh Kishh Thhaae N Paaee ||26||
गुरमुखि बोलहि सो थाइ पाए मनमुखि किछु थाइ न पाई ॥२६॥
That which Gurmukh speaks is certified and approved. Whatever the self-willed manmukh says is not accepted. ||26||
ਪਾਲਾ ਕਕਰੁ ਵਰਫ ਵਰਸੈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਈ ॥੨੭॥
Paalaa Kakar Varaf Varasai Gurasikh Gur Dhaekhan Jaaee ||27||
पाला ककरु वरफ वरसै गुरसिखु गुर देखण जाई ॥२७॥
Even in the cold, the frost and the snow, the GurSikh still goes out to see his Guru. ||27||
ਸਭੁ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਦੇਖਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਅਖੀ ਗੁਰ ਪੈਰ ਧਰਾਈ ॥੨੮॥
Sabh Dhinas Rain Dhaekho Gur Apunaa Vich Akhee Gur Pair Dhharaaee ||28||
सभु दिनसु रैणि देखउ गुरु अपुना विचि अखी गुर पैर धराई ॥२८॥
All day and night, I gaze upon my Guru; I install the Guru's Feet in my eyes. ||28||
ਅਨੇਕ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਗੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੯॥
Anaek Oupaav Karee Gur Kaaran Gur Bhaavai So Thhaae Paaee ||29||
अनेक उपाव करी गुर कारणि गुर भावै सो थाइ पाई ॥२९॥
I make so many efforts for the sake of the Guru; only that which pleases the Guru is accepted and approved. ||29||
ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਅਰਾਧੀ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਈ ॥੩੦॥
Rain Dhinas Gur Charan Araadhhee Dhaeiaa Karahu Maerae Saaee ||30||
रैणि दिनसु गुर चरण अराधी दइआ करहु मेरे साई ॥३०॥
Night and day, I worship the Guru's Feet in adoration; have Mercy upon me, O my Lord and Master. ||30||
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਈ ॥੩੧॥
Naanak Kaa Jeeo Pindd Guroo Hai Gur Mil Thripath Aghaaee ||31||
नानक का जीउ पिंडु गुरू है गुर मिलि त्रिपति अघाई ॥३१॥
The Guru is Nanak's body and soul; meeting the Guru, he is satisfied and satiated. ||31||

नानक का प्रभु पूरि रहिओ है जत कत तत गोसाई ॥३२॥१॥

अंदरि सचा नेहु लाइआ प्रीतम आपणै ॥
Deep within myself, I have enshrined true love for my Beloved.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਜਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਖਾ ਸਾਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਣੇ ॥੧॥

तनु मनु होइ निहालु जा गुरु देखा साम्हणे ॥१॥
My body and soul are in ecstasy; I see my Guru before me. ||1||

मै हरि हरि नामु विसाहु ॥
I have purchased the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gur Poorae Thae Paaeiaa Anmrith Agam Athhaahu ||1|| Rehaao ||
गुर पूरे ते पाइआ अम्रितु अगम अथाहु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I have obtained the Inaccessible and Unfathomable Ambrosial Nectar from the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
Ho Sathigur Vaekh Vigaseeaa Har Naamae Lagaa Piaar ||
हउ सतिगुरु वेखि विगसीआ हरि नामे लगा पिआरु ॥
Gazing upon the True Guru, I blossom forth in ecstasy; I am in love with the Name of the Lord.
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਮੇਲਿਅਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੨॥
Kirapaa Kar Kai Maelian Paaeiaa Mokh Dhuaar ||2||
किरपा करि कै मेलिअनु पाइआ मोख दुआरु ॥२॥
Through His Mercy, the Lord has united me with Himself, and I have found the Door of Salvation. ||2||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬਿਰਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਉ ॥
Sathigur Birehee Naam Kaa Jae Milai Th Than Man Dhaeo ||
सतिगुरु बिरही नाम का जे मिलै त तनु मनु देउ ॥
The True Guru is the Lover of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Meeting Him, I dedicate my body and mind to Him.
ਜੇ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਪੀਏਉ ॥੩॥
Jae Poorab Hovai Likhiaa Thaa Anmrith Sehaj Peeeaeo ||3||
जे पूरबि होवै लिखिआ ता अम्रितु सहजि पीएउ ॥३॥
And if it is so pre-ordained, then I shall automatically drink in the Ambrosial Nectar. ||3||
ਸੁਤਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਉਠਦਿਆ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਆਲਾਉ ॥
Suthiaa Gur Saalaaheeai Outhadhiaa Bhee Gur Aalaao ||
सुतिआ गुरु सालाहीऐ उठदिआ भी गुरु आलाउ ॥
Praise the Guru while you are asleep, and call on the Guru while you are up.
ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਉ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਧੋਵਾ ਪਾਉ ॥੪॥
Koee Aisaa Guramukh Jae Milai Ho Thaa Kae Dhhovaa Paao ||4||
कोई ऐसा गुरमुखि जे मिलै हउ ता के धोवा पाउ ॥४॥
If only I could meet such a Gurmukh; I would wash His Feet. ||4||
ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਸਜਣੁ ਲੋੜਿ ਲਹੁ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਇ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
Koee Aisaa Sajan Lorr Lahu Mai Preetham Dhaee Milaae ||
कोई ऐसा सजणु लोड़ि लहु मै प्रीतमु देइ मिलाइ ॥
I long for such a Friend, to unite me with my Beloved.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੫॥
Sathigur Miliai Har Paaeiaa Miliaa Sehaj Subhaae ||5||
सतिगुरि मिलिऐ हरि पाइआ मिलिआ सहजि सुभाइ ॥५॥
Meeting the True Guru, I have found the Lord. He has met me, easily and effortlessly. ||5||
