Har Bharipurae Rehiaa ||
हरि भरिपुरे रहिआ ॥
The Lord is totally permeating and pervading everywhere;
ਜਲਿ ਥਲੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
Jal Thhalae Raam Naam ||
जलि थले राम नामु ॥
The Name of the Lord is pervading the water and the land.
ਨਿਤ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਨੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Nith Gaaeeai Har Dhookh Bisaarano ||1|| Rehaao ||
नित गाईऐ हरि दूख बिसारनो ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
So sing continuously of the Lord, the Dispeller of pain. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
Har Keeaa Hai Safal Janam Hamaaraa ||
हरि कीआ है सफल जनमु हमारा ॥
The Lord has made my life fruitful and rewarding.
ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
Har Japiaa Har Dhookh Bisaaranehaaraa ||
हरि जपिआ हरि दूख बिसारनहारा ॥
I meditate on the Lord, the Dispeller of pain.
ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਹੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
Gur Bhaettiaa Hai Mukath Dhaathaa ||
गुरु भेटिआ है मुकति दाता ॥
I have met the Guru, the Giver of liberation.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਸਫਲ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
Har Keeee Hamaaree Safal Jaathaa ||
हरि कीई हमारी सफल जाता ॥
The Lord has made my life's journey fruitful and rewarding.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਨੋ ॥੧॥
Mil Sangathee Gun Gaavano ||1||
मिलि संगती गुन गावनो ॥१॥
Joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕਰਿ ਆਸਾ ॥
Man Raam Naam Kar Aasaa ||
मन राम नाम करि आसा ॥
O mortal, place your hopes in the Name of the Lord,
ਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਬਿਨਾਸਾ ॥
Bhaao Dhoojaa Binas Binaasaa ||
भाउ दूजा बिनसि बिनासा ॥
And your love of duality shall simply vanish.
ਵਿਚਿ ਆਸਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਾਸੀ ॥
Vich Aasaa Hoe Niraasee ||
विचि आसा होइ निरासी ॥
One who, in hope, remains unattached to hope,
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸੀ ॥
So Jan Miliaa Har Paasee ||
सो जनु मिलिआ हरि पासी ॥
Such a humble being meets with his Lord.
ਕੋਈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਨੋ ॥
Koee Raam Naam Gun Gaavano ||
कोई राम नाम गुन गावनो ॥
And one who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord's Name

How can I meet You, O Imperishable God?

करि किरपा मोहि मारगि पावहु ॥
Have Mercy upon me, and place me upon the Path;
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਅੰਚਲਿ ਲਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥
Saadhhasangath Kai Anchal Laavahu ||1||
साधसंगति कै अंचलि लावहु ॥१॥
Let me be attached to the hem of the robe of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||
ਕਿਉ ਤਰੀਐ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
Kio Thareeai Bikhiaa Sansaar ||
किउ तरीऐ बिखिआ संसारु ॥
How can I cross over the poisonous world-ocean?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

The True Guru is the boat to carry us across. ||1||Pause||

Pavan Jhulaarae Maaeiaa Dhaee ||
पवन झुलारे माइआ देइ ॥
The wind of Maya blows and shakes us,
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਸੇਇ ॥
Har Kae Bhagath Sadhaa Thhir Saee ||
हरि के भगत सदा थिरु सेइ ॥
But the Lord's devotees remain ever-stable.
ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਰਹਹਿ ਨਿਰਾਰਾ ॥
Harakh Sog Thae Rehehi Niraaraa ||
हरख सोग ते रहहि निरारा ॥
They remain unaffected by pleasure and pain.
ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਖਵਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
Sir Oopar Aap Guroo Rakhavaaraa ||2||
सिर ऊपरि आपि गुरू रखवारा ॥२॥
The Guru Himself is the Savior above their heads. ||2||
ਪਾਇਆ ਵੇੜੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਰਬ ਭੁਇਅੰਗਾ ॥
Paaeiaa Vaerr Maaeiaa Sarab Bhueiangaa ||
पाइआ वेड़ु माइआ सरब भुइअंगा ॥
Maya, the snake, holds all in her coils.
ਹਉਮੈ ਪਚੇ ਦੀਪਕ ਦੇਖਿ ਪਤੰਗਾ ॥
Houmai Pachae Dheepak Dhaekh Pathangaa ||
हउमै पचे दीपक देखि पतंगा ॥
They burn to death in egotism, like the moth lured by seeing the flame.
ਸਗਲ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਕਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
Sagal Seegaar Karae Nehee Paavai ||
सगल सीगार करे नही पावै ॥
They make all sorts of decorations, but they do not find the Lord.
ਜਾ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
Jaa Hoe Kirapaal Thaa Guroo Milaavai ||3||
जा होइ क्रिपालु ता गुरू मिलावै ॥३॥
When the Guru becomes Merciful, He leads them to meet the Lord. ||3||
ਹਉ ਫਿਰਉ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਮੈ ਇਕੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਦਸਾਇਆ ॥
Ho Firo Oudhaasee Mai Eik Rathan Dhasaaeiaa ||
हउ फिरउ उदासी मै इकु रतनु दसाइआ ॥
I wander around, sad and depressed, seeking the jewel of the One Lord.
ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਹੀਰਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਨ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
Niramolak Heeraa Milai N Oupaaeiaa ||
निरमोलकु हीरा मिलै न उपाइआ ॥
This priceless jewel is not obtained by any efforts.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਹਿ ਲਾਲੁ ॥
Har Kaa Mandhar This Mehi Laal ||
हरि का मंदरु तिसु महि लालु ॥
That jewel is within the body, the Temple of the Lord.
ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਲਿਆ ਪੜਦਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਭਈ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥੪॥
Gur Kholiaa Parradhaa Dhaekh Bhee Nihaal ||4||
गुरि खोलिआ पड़दा देखि भई निहालु ॥४॥
The Guru has torn away the veil of illusion, and beholding the jewel, I am delighted. ||4||
ਜਿਨਿ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਇਆ ਸਾਦੁ ॥
Jin Chaakhiaa This Aaeiaa Saadh ||
जिनि चाखिआ तिसु आइआ सादु ॥
One who has tasted it, comes to know its flavor;
ਜਿਉ ਗੂੰਗਾ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥
Jio Goongaa Man Mehi Bisamaadh ||
जिउ गूंगा मन महि बिसमादु ॥
He is like the mute, whose mind is filled with wonder.
ਆਨਦ ਰੂਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
Aanadh Roop Sabh Nadharee Aaeiaa ||
आनद रूपु सभु नदरी आइआ ॥
I see the Lord, the source of bliss, everywhere.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਆਖਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੫॥੧॥

जन नानक हरि गुण आखि समाइआ ॥५॥१॥

सरब कलिआण कीए गुरदेव ॥
The Divine Guru has blessed me with total happiness.
ਸੇਵਕੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਲਾਇਓ ਸੇਵ ॥
Saevak Apanee Laaeiou Saev ||
सेवकु अपनी लाइओ सेव ॥
He has linked His servant to His service.
ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਜਪਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵ ॥੧॥
Bighan N Laagai Jap Alakh Abhaev ||1||
बिघनु न लागै जपि अलख अभेव ॥१॥
No obstacles block my path, meditating on the incomprehensible, inscrutable Lord. ||1||
ਧਰਤਿ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਭਈ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ॥
Dhharath Puneeth Bhee Gun Gaaeae ||
धरति पुनीत भई गुन गाए ॥
The soil has been sanctified, singing the Glories of His Praises.
ਦੁਰਤੁ ਗਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Dhurath Gaeiaa Har Naam Dhhiaaeae ||1|| Rehaao ||
दुरतु गइआ हरि नामु धिआए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The sins are eradicated, meditating on the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਂਈ ਰਵਿਆ ਆਪਿ ॥
Sabhanee Thhaanee Raviaa Aap ||
सभनी थांई रविआ आपि ॥
He Himself is pervading everywhere;
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਵਡ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥
Aadh Jugaadh Jaa Kaa Vadd Parathaap ||
आदि जुगादि जा का वड परतापु ॥
From the very beginning, and throughout the ages, His Glory has been radiantly manifest.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ॥੨॥
Gur Parasaadh N Hoe Santhaap ||2||
गुर परसादि न होइ संतापु ॥२॥
By Guru's Grace, sorrow does not touch me. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਲਗੇ ਮਨਿ ਮੀਠੇ ॥
Gur Kae Charan Lagae Man Meethae ||
गुर के चरन लगे मनि मीठे ॥
The Guru's Feet seem so sweet to my mind.
ਨਿਰਬਿਘਨ ਹੋਇ ਸਭ ਥਾਂਈ ਵੂਠੇ ॥
Nirabighan Hoe Sabh Thhaanee Voothae ||
निरबिघन होइ सभ थांई वूठे ॥
He is unobstructed, dwelling everywhere.
ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੂਠੇ ॥੩॥
Sabh Sukh Paaeae Sathigur Thoothae ||3||
सभि सुख पाए सतिगुर तूठे ॥३॥
I found total peace, when the Guru was pleased. ||3||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਰਖਵਾਲੇ ॥
Paarabreham Prabh Bheae Rakhavaalae ||
पारब्रहम प्रभ भए रखवाले ॥
The Supreme Lord God has become my Savior.
ਜਿਥੈ ਕਿਥੈ ਦੀਸਹਿ ਨਾਲੇ ॥
Jithhai Kithhai Dheesehi Naalae ||
जिथै किथै दीसहि नाले ॥
Wherever I look, I see Him there with me.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਖਸਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ॥੪॥੨॥
