ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੇ ਸਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਨਾ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
Bharam Bhulaanae S Manamukh Keheeahi Naa Ouravaar N Paarae ||3||
भरमि भुलाणे सि मनमुख कहीअहि ना उरवारि न पारे ॥३॥
Those who wander around, deluded by doubt, are called manmukhs; they are neither on this side, nor on the other side. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲੇ ॥
Jis No Nadhar Karae Soee Jan Paaeae Gur Kaa Sabadh Samhaalae ||
जिस नो नदरि करे सोई जनु पाए गुर का सबदु सम्हाले ॥
That humble being, who is blessed by the Lord's Glance of Grace obtains Him, and contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥
Har Jan Maaeiaa Maahi Nisathaarae ||
हरि जन माइआ माहि निसतारे ॥
In the midst of Maya, the Lord's servant is emancipated.
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਾਲਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥
Naanak Bhaag Hovai Jis Masathak Kaalehi Maar Bidhaarae ||4||1||
नानक भागु होवै जिसु मसतकि कालहि मारि बिदारे ॥४॥१॥
O Nanak, one who has such destiny inscribed upon his forehead, conquers and destroys death. ||4||1||

ਅਤੁਲੁ ਕਿਉ ਤੋਲਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
Athul Kio Tholiaa Jaae ||
अतुलु किउ तोलिआ जाइ ॥
How can the unweighable be weighed?
ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥
Dhoojaa Hoe Th Sojhee Paae ||
दूजा होइ त सोझी पाइ ॥
If there is anyone else as great, then he alone could understand the Lord.
ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
This Thae Dhoojaa Naahee Koe ||
तिस ते दूजा नाही कोइ ॥
There is no other than Him.
ਤਿਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਿਕੂ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
This Dhee Keemath Kikoo Hoe ||1||
तिस दी कीमति किकू होइ ॥१॥
How can His value be estimated? ||1||
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
Gur Parasaadh Vasai Man Aae ||
गुर परसादि वसै मनि आइ ॥
By Guru's Grace, He comes to dwell in the mind.
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Thaa Ko Jaanai Dhubidhhaa Jaae ||1|| Rehaao ||
ता को जाणै दुबिधा जाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
One comes to know Him, when duality departs. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪਿ ਸਰਾਫੁ ਕਸਵਟੀ ਲਾਏ ॥
Aap Saraaf Kasavattee Laaeae ||
आपि सराफु कसवटी लाए ॥
He Himself is the Assayer, applying the touch-stone to test it.
ਆਪੇ ਪਰਖੇ ਆਪਿ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
Aapae Parakhae Aap Chalaaeae ||
आपे परखे आपि चलाए ॥
He Himself analyzes the coin, and He Himself approves it as currency.
ਆਪੇ ਤੋਲੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
Aapae Tholae Pooraa Hoe ||
आपे तोले पूरा होइ ॥
He Himself weights it perfectly.
ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥
Aapae Jaanai Eaeko Soe ||2||
आपे जाणै एको सोइ ॥२॥
He alone knows; He is the One and Only Lord. ||2||
ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ॥
Maaeiaa Kaa Roop Sabh This Thae Hoe ||
माइआ का रूपु सभु तिस ते होइ ॥
All the forms of Maya emanate from Him.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਮੇਲੇ ਸੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
Jis No Maelae S Niramal Hoe ||
जिस नो मेले सु निरमलु होइ ॥
He alone becomes pure and immaculate, who is united with the Lord.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਲਾਏ ਲਗੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਇ ॥
Jis No Laaeae Lagai This Aae ||
जिस नो लाए लगै तिसु आइ ॥
He alone is attached, whom the Lord attaches.
ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਦਿਖਾਲੇ ਤਾ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
Sabh Sach Dhikhaalae Thaa Sach Samaae ||3||
सभु सचु दिखाले ता सचि समाइ ॥३॥
All Truth is revealed to him, and then, he merges in the True Lord. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਲਿਵ ਧਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ॥
Aapae Liv Dhhaath Hai Aapae ||
आपे लिव धातु है आपे ॥
He Himself leads the mortals to focus on Him, and He Himself causes them to chase after Maya.
ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਪੇ ॥
Aap Bujhaaeae Aapae Jaapae ||
आपि बुझाए आपे जापे ॥
He Himself imparts understanding, and He reveals Himself.
ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ॥
Aapae Sathigur Sabadh Hai Aapae ||
आपे सतिगुरु सबदु है आपे ॥
He Himself is the True Guru, and He Himself is the Word of the Shabad.
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ਆਪੇ ॥੪॥੨॥
Naanak Aakh Sunaaeae Aapae ||4||2||
नानक आखि सुणाए आपे ॥४॥२॥
O Nanak, He Himself speaks and teaches. ||4||2||

Saahib Thae Saevak Saev Saahib Thae Kiaa Ko Kehai Behaanaa ||
साहिब ते सेवकु सेव साहिब ते किआ को कहै बहाना ॥
My Lord and Master has made me His servant, and blessed me with His service; how can anyone argue about this?
ਐਸਾ ਇਕੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਬਨਿਆ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
Aisaa Eik Thaeraa Khael Baniaa Hai Sabh Mehi Eaek Samaanaa ||1||
ऐसा इकु तेरा खेलु बनिआ है सभ महि एकु समाना ॥१॥
Such is Your play, One and Only Lord; You are the One, contained among all. ||1||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪਰਚੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥
Sathigur Parachai Har Naam Samaanaa ||
सतिगुरि परचै हरि नामि समाना ॥
When the True Guru is pleased and appeased, one is absorbed in the Lord's Name.
ਜਿਸੁ ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਏ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਹਜ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jis Karam Hovai So Sathigur Paaeae Anadhin Laagai Sehaj Dhhiaanaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
जिसु करमु होवै सो सतिगुरु पाए अनदिनु लागै सहज धिआना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
One who is blessed by the Lord's Mercy, finds the True Guru; night and day, he automatically remains focused on the Lord's meditation. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਆ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ ਕਿਆ ਕੋ ਕਰੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਾ ॥
Kiaa Koee Thaeree Saevaa Karae Kiaa Ko Karae Abhimaanaa ||
किआ कोई तेरी सेवा करे किआ को करे अभिमाना ॥
How can I serve You? How can I be proud of this?
ਜਬ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਖਿੰਚਹਿ ਤੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਬ ਕੋਈ ਕਰਉ ਦਿਖਾ ਵਖਿਆਨਾ ॥੨॥
Jab Apunee Joth Khinchehi Thoo Suaamee Thab Koee Karo Dhikhaa Vakhiaanaa ||2||
जब अपुनी जोति खिंचहि तू सुआमी तब कोई करउ दिखा वखिआना ॥२॥
When You withdraw Your Light, O Lord and Master, then who can speak and teach? ||2||
ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਚੇਲਾ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥
Aapae Gur Chaelaa Hai Aapae Aapae Gunee Nidhhaanaa ||
आपे गुरु चेला है आपे आपे गुणी निधाना ॥
You Yourself are the Guru, and You Yourself are the chaylaa, the humble disciple; You Yourself are the treasure of virtue.
ਜਿਉ ਆਪਿ ਚਲਾਏ ਤਿਵੈ ਕੋਈ ਚਾਲੈ ਜਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਭਗਵਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
Jio Aap Chalaaeae Thivai Koee Chaalai Jio Har Bhaavai Bhagavaanaa ||3||
जिउ आपि चलाए तिवै कोई चालै जिउ हरि भावै भगवाना ॥३॥
As You cause us to move, so do we move, according to the Pleasure of Your Will, O Lord God. ||3||
ਕਹਤ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤੂ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਕਉਣੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਾਮਾਂ ॥
Kehath Naanak Thoo Saachaa Saahib Koun Jaanai Thaerae Kaamaan ||
कहत नानकु तू साचा साहिबु कउणु जाणै तेरे कामां ॥
Says Nanak, You are the True Lord and Master; who can know Your actions?
ਇਕਨਾ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਇਕਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭਵਹਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੩॥
Eikanaa Ghar Mehi Dhae Vaddiaaee Eik Bharam Bhavehi Abhimaanaa ||4||3||
इकना घर महि दे वडिआई इकि भरमि भवहि अभिमाना ॥४॥३॥
Some are blessed with glory in their own homes, while others wander in doubt and pride. ||4||3||

पूरा थाटु बणाइआ पूरै वेखहु एक समाना ॥
The perfect Lord has fashioned the Perfect Creation. Behold the Lord pervading everywhere.
ਇਸੁ ਪਰਪੰਚ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਮਤੁ ਕੋ ਧਰਹੁ ਗੁਮਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
Eis Parapanch Mehi Saachae Naam Kee Vaddiaaee Math Ko Dhharahu Gumaanaa ||1||
इसु परपंच महि साचे नाम की वडिआई मतु को धरहु गुमाना ॥१॥
In this play of the world, is the glorious greatness of the True Name. No one should take pride in himself. ||1||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਮਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥
Sathigur Kee Jis No Math Aavai So Sathigur Maahi Samaanaa ||
सतिगुर की जिस नो मति आवै सो सतिगुर माहि समाना ॥
One who accepts the wisdom of the True Guru's Teachings, is absorbed into the True Guru.
ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਜੋ ਜੀਅਹੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Eih Baanee Jo Jeeahu Jaanai This Anthar Ravai Har Naamaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
इह बाणी जो जीअहु जाणै तिसु अंतरि रवै हरि नामा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Lord's Name abides deep within the nucleus of one who realizes the Bani of the Guru's Word within his soul. ||1||Pause||
ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗਾ ਕਾ ਹੁਣਿ ਨਿਬੇੜਾ ਨਰ ਮਨੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਏਕੁ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥
Chahu Jugaa Kaa Hun Nibaerraa Nar Manukhaa No Eaek Nidhhaanaa ||
चहु जुगा का हुणि निबेड़ा नर मनुखा नो एकु निधाना ॥
Now, this is the essence of the teachings of the four ages: for the human race, the Name of the One Lord is the greatest treasure.
ਜਤੁ ਸੰਜਮ ਤੀਰਥ ਓਨਾ ਜੁਗਾ ਕਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਹੈ ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੨॥
Jath Sanjam Theerathh Ounaa Jugaa Kaa Dhharam Hai Kal Mehi Keerath Har Naamaa ||2||
जतु संजम तीरथ ओना जुगा का धरमु है कलि महि कीरति हरि नामा ॥२॥
Celibacy, self-discipline and pilgrimages were the essence of Dharma in those past ages; but in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Praise of the Lord's Name is the essence of Dharma. ||2||
ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਹੈ ਸੋਧਿ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨਾ ॥
Jug Jug Aapo Aapanaa Dhharam Hai Sodhh Dhaekhahu Baedh Puraanaa ||
जुगि जुगि आपो आपणा धरमु है सोधि देखहु बेद पुराना ॥
Each and every age has its own essence of Dharma; study the Vedas and the Puraanas, and see this as true.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਗਿ ਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
Guramukh Jinee Dhhiaaeiaa Har Har Jag Thae Poorae Paravaanaa ||3||
गुरमुखि जिनी धिआइआ हरि हरि जगि ते पूरे परवाना ॥३॥
They are Gurmukh, who meditate on the Lord, Har, Har; in this world, they are perfect and approved. ||3||
