म्रित मंडल जगु साजिआ जिउ बालू घर बार ॥
This perishable realm and world has been made like a house of sand.
ਬਿਨਸਤ ਬਾਰ ਨ ਲਾਗਈ ਜਿਉ ਕਾਗਦ ਬੂੰਦਾਰ ॥੧॥
Binasath Baar N Laagee Jio Kaagadh Boondhaar ||1||
बिनसत बार न लागई जिउ कागद बूंदार ॥१॥
In no time at all, it is destroyed, like the paper drenched with water. ||1||

Jaisaa Supanaa Rain Kaa Thaisaa Sansaar ||
जैसा सुपना रैनि का तैसा संसार ॥
This world is like a dream in the night.
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਮਾਨ ਸਭੁ ਬਿਨਸੀਐ ਕਿਆ ਲਗਹਿ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੨॥

द्रिसटिमान सभु बिनसीऐ किआ लगहि गवार ॥२॥
All that is seen shall perish. Why are you attached to it, you fool? ||2||

कहा सु भाई मीत है देखु नैन पसारि ॥
Where are your brothers and friends? Open your eyes and see!
ਇਕਿ ਚਾਲੇ ਇਕਿ ਚਾਲਸਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਅਪਨੀ ਵਾਰ ॥੩॥
Eik Chaalae Eik Chaalasehi Sabh Apanee Vaar ||3||
इकि चाले इकि चालसहि सभि अपनी वार ॥३॥
Some have gone, and some will go; everyone must take his turn. ||3||
ਜਿਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਸੇ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥
Jin Pooraa Sathigur Saeviaa Sae Asathhir Har Dhuaar ||
जिन पूरा सतिगुरु सेविआ से असथिरु हरि दुआरि ॥
Those who serve the Perfect True Guru, remain ever-stable at the Door of the Lord.

लोकन कीआ वडिआईआ बैसंतरि पागउ ॥
The glories of the world, I cast into the fire.
ਜਿਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਨਾ ਤੇ ਬੋਲ ਕਰਾਗਉ ॥੧॥
Jio Milai Piaaraa Aapanaa Thae Bol Karaago ||1||
जिउ मिलै पिआरा आपना ते बोल करागउ ॥१॥
I chant those words, by which I may meet my Beloved. ||1||
ਜਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਇ ਤਉ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਗਉ ॥
Jo Prabh Jeeo Dhaeiaal Hoe Tho Bhagathee Laago ||
जउ प्रभ जीउ दइआल होइ तउ भगती लागउ ॥
When God becomes Merciful, then He enjoins me to His devotional service.
ਲਪਟਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਮਨੁ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਇਹ ਤਿਆਗਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

लपटि रहिओ मनु बासना गुर मिलि इह तिआगउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
My mind clings to worldly desires; meeting with the Guru, I have renounced them. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਅਤਿ ਘਨੀ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਹੋਮਾਗਉ ॥
Karo Baenathee Ath Ghanee Eihu Jeeo Homaago ||
करउ बेनती अति घनी इहु जीउ होमागउ ॥
I pray with intense devotion, and offer this soul to Him.
ਅਰਥ ਆਨ ਸਭਿ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਨਿਮਖ ਸੋਹਾਗਉ ॥੨॥
Arathh Aan Sabh Vaariaa Pria Nimakh Sohaago ||2||
अरथ आन सभि वारिआ प्रिअ निमख सोहागउ ॥२॥
I would sacrifice all other riches, for a moment's union with my Beloved. ||2||
ਪੰਚ ਸੰਗੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਛੁਟੇ ਦੋਖ ਅਰੁ ਰਾਗਉ ॥
Panch Sang Gur Thae Shhuttae Dhokh Ar Raago ||
पंच संगु गुर ते छुटे दोख अरु रागउ ॥
Through the Guru, I am rid of the five villains, as well as emotional love and hate.
ਰਿਦੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਜਾਗਉ ॥੩॥
Ridhai Pragaas Pragatt Bhaeiaa Nis Baasur Jaago ||3||
रिदै प्रगासु प्रगट भइआ निसि बासुर जागउ ॥३॥
My heart is illumined, and the Lord has become manifest; night and day, I remain awake and aware. ||3||
ਸਰਣਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਆਇਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗਉ ॥
Saran Sohaagan Aaeiaa Jis Masathak Bhaago ||
सरणि सोहागनि आइआ जिसु मसतकि भागउ ॥
The blessed soul-bride seeks His Sanctuary; her destiny is recorded on her forehead.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲਾਗਉ ॥੪॥੨॥੩੨॥
Kahu Naanak Thin Paaeiaa Than Man Seethalaago ||4||2||32||
कहु नानक तिनि पाइआ तनु मनु सीतलागउ ॥४॥२॥३२॥
Says Nanak, she obtains her Husband Lord; her body and mind are cooled and soothed. ||4||2||32||

Laal Rang This Ko Lagaa Jis Kae Vaddabhaagaa ||
लाल रंगु तिस कउ लगा जिस के वडभागा ॥
One is dyed in the color of the Lord's Love, by great good fortune.
ਮੈਲਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਹ ਲਾਗੈ ਦਾਗਾ ॥੧॥
Mailaa Kadhae N Hovee Neh Laagai Dhaagaa ||1||
मैला कदे न होवई नह लागै दागा ॥१॥
This color is never muddied; no stain ever sticks to it. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਈਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖ ਭਾਇ ॥
Prabh Paaeiaa Sukhadhaaeeaa Miliaa Sukh Bhaae ||
प्रभु पाइआ सुखदाईआ मिलिआ सुख भाइ ॥
He finds God, the Giver of peace, with feelings of joy.
ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ਭੀਤਰੇ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਨਹ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Sehaj Samaanaa Bheetharae Shhoddiaa Neh Jaae ||1|| Rehaao ||
सहजि समाना भीतरे छोडिआ नह जाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Celestial Lord blends into his soul, and he can never leave Him. ||1||Pause||
ਜਰਾ ਮਰਾ ਨਹ ਵਿਆਪਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Jaraa Maraa Neh Viaapee Fir Dhookh N Paaeiaa ||
जरा मरा नह विआपई फिरि दूखु न पाइआ ॥
Old age and death cannot touch him, and he shall not suffer pain again.
ਪੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਆਘਾਨਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਮਰੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
Pee Anmrith Aaghaaniaa Gur Amar Karaaeiaa ||2||
पी अम्रितु आघानिआ गुरि अमरु कराइआ ॥२॥
Drinking in the Ambrosial Nectar, he is satisfied; the Guru makes him immortal. ||2||
ਸੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲਾ ॥
So Jaanai Jin Chaakhiaa Har Naam Amolaa ||
सो जानै जिनि चाखिआ हरि नामु अमोला ॥
He alone knows its taste, who tastes the Priceless Name of the Lord.
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲਾ ॥੩॥
Keemath Kehee N Jaaeeai Kiaa Kehi Mukh Bolaa ||3||
कीमति कही न जाईऐ किआ कहि मुखि बोला ॥३॥
Its value cannot be estimated; what can I say with my mouth? ||3||
ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
Safal Dharas Thaeraa Paarabreham Gun Nidhh Thaeree Baanee ||
सफल दरसु तेरा पारब्रहम गुण निधि तेरी बाणी ॥
