Maaeiaa Girasath Bhramath Hai Praanee Rakh Laevahu Jan Apanaa ||
माइआ गिरसति भ्रमतु है प्रानी रखि लेवहु जनु अपना ॥
Entangled in Maya, the mortal wanders around. Save Your humble servant, O Lord,

जिउ प्रहिलादु हरणाखसि ग्रसिओ हरि राखिओ हरि सरना ॥२॥
As you saved Prahlaad from the clutches of Harnaakash; keep him in Your Sanctuary, Lord. ||2||
ਕਵਨ ਕਵਨ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵੰਨਾ ॥
Kavan Kavan Kee Gath Mith Keheeai Har Keeeae Pathith Pavannaa ||
कवन कवन की गति मिति कहीऐ हरि कीए पतित पवंना ॥
How can I describe the state and the condition, O Lord, of those many sinners you have purified?
ਓਹੁ ਢੋਵੈ ਢੋਰ ਹਾਥਿ ਚਮੁ ਚਮਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਉਧਰਿਓ ਪਰਿਓ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੩॥
Ouhu Dtovai Dtor Haathh Cham Chamarae Har Oudhhariou Pariou Saranaa ||3||
ओहु ढोवै ढोर हाथि चमु चमरे हरि उधरिओ परिओ सरना ॥३॥
Ravi Daas, the leather-worker, who worked with hides and carried dead animals was saved, by entering the Lord's Sanctuary. ||3||

O God, Merciful to the meek, carry Your devotees across the world-ocean; I am a sinner - save me from sin!

हम मूरख मुगध अगिआन मती सरणागति पुरख अजनमा ॥
I am foolish, idiotic and ignorant; I seek Your Sanctuary, O Primal Being, O Lord beyond birth.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਮ ਪਾਥਰ ਹੀਨ ਅਕਰਮਾ ॥੧॥

करि किरपा रखि लेवहु मेरे ठाकुर हम पाथर हीन अकरमा ॥१॥
Have Mercy upon me, and save me, O my Lord and Master; I am a lowly stone, with no good karma at all. ||1||

Har Jan Saevak Sae Har Thaarae Ham Niragun Raakh Oupamaa ||
हरि जन सेवक से हरि तारे हम निरगुन राखु उपमा ॥
The humble servants of the Lord are saved by the Lord; I am worthless - it is Your glory to save me.
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਵਡੇ ਕਰੰਮਾ ॥੨॥

तुझ बिनु अवरु न कोई मेरे ठाकुर हरि जपीऐ वडे करमा ॥२॥
I have no other than You, O my Lord and Master; I meditate on the Lord, by my good karma. ||2||
ਨਾਮਹੀਨ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਵਡ ਦੂਖ ਸਹੰਮਾ ॥
Naameheen Dhhrig Jeevathae Thin Vadd Dhookh Sehanmaa ||
नामहीन ध्रिगु जीवते तिन वड दूख सहमा ॥
Those who lack the Naam, the Name of the Lord, their lives are cursed, and they must endure terrible pain.
ਓਇ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਵਾਈਅਹਿ ਮੰਦਭਾਗੀ ਮੂੜ ਅਕਰਮਾ ॥੩॥
Oue Fir Fir Jon Bhavaaeeahi Mandhabhaagee Moorr Akaramaa ||3||
ओइ फिरि फिरि जोनि भवाईअहि मंदभागी मूड़ अकरमा ॥३॥
They are consigned to reincarnation over and over again; they are the most unfortunate fools, with no good karma at all. ||3||

हरि जन नामु अधारु है धुरि पूरबि लिखे वड करमा ॥
The Naam is the Support of the Lord's humble servants; their good karma is pre-ordained.
ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਫਲੁ ਜਨੰਮਾ ॥੪॥੨॥

गुरि सतिगुरि नामु द्रिड़ाइआ जन नानक सफलु जनमा ॥४॥२॥

My consciousness is lured by emotional attachment and corruption; is is filled with evil-minded filth.

Thumharai Sang Lagae Sae Oudhharae Jio Sang Kaasatt Loh Tharaa ||2||
तुम्हरै संगि लगे से उधरे जिउ संगि कासट लोह तरा ॥२॥
Those who are attached to You are saved, like iron which is carried across with wood. ||2||
ਸਾਕਤ ਨਰ ਹੋਛੀ ਮਤਿ ਮਧਿਮ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵ ਨ ਕਰਾ ॥
Saakath Nar Hoshhee Math Madhhim Jinh Har Har Saev N Karaa ||
साकत नर होछी मति मधिम जिन्ह हरि हरि सेव न करा ॥
The faithless cynics have little or no understanding; they do not serve the Lord, Har, Har.
ਤੇ ਨਰ ਭਾਗਹੀਨ ਦੁਹਚਾਰੀ ਓਇ ਜਨਮਿ ਮੁਏ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰਾ ॥੩॥
Thae Nar Bhaageheen Dhuhachaaree Oue Janam Mueae Fir Maraa ||3||
ते नर भागहीन दुहचारी ओइ जनमि मुए फिरि मरा ॥३॥
Those beings are unfortunate and vicious; they die, and are consigned to reincarnation, over and over again. ||3||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਏ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਾ ॥
Jin Ko Thumh Har Maelahu Suaamee Thae Nhaaeae Santhokh Gur Saraa ||
जिन कउ तुम्ह हरि मेलहु सुआमी ते न्हाए संतोख गुर सरा ॥
Those whom You unite with Yourself, O Lord and Master, bathe in the Guru's cleansing pool of contentment.
