कामि क्रोधि लोभि मोहि मनु लीना ॥
The mind is engrossed in sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment.
ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨਾ ॥੨॥
Bandhhan Kaatt Mukath Gur Keenaa ||2||
बंधन काटि मुकति गुरि कीना ॥२॥
Breaking my bonds, the Guru has liberated me. ||2||
ਦੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਕਰਤ ਜਨਮਿ ਫੁਨਿ ਮੂਆ ॥
Dhukh Sukh Karath Janam Fun Mooaa ||
दुख सुख करत जनमि फुनि मूआ ॥
Experiencing pain and pleasure, one is born, only to die again.

The world is drowning in the ocean of fire.

Body, mind, wealth and everything, I surrender to my Lord.

ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥

मति बुधि सुरति नाही चतुराई ॥
I have neither intelligence, wisdom, common sense nor cleverness.
ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੩॥

ता मिलीऐ जा लए मिलाई ॥३॥
I meet You, only if You lead me to meet You. ||3||

नैन संतोखे प्रभ दरसनु पाइआ ॥
My eyes are content, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of God's Darshan.

Mother, father, children and the wealth of Maya, will not go along with you.

साधसंगि सभु दूखु मिटाइआ ॥१॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, all pain is dispelled. ||1||
ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਆਪੇ ॥
Rav Rehiaa Prabh Sabh Mehi Aapae ||
रवि रहिआ प्रभु सभ महि आपे ॥
God Himself is pervading, and permeating all.
ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Har Jap Rasanaa Dhukh N Viaapae ||1|| Rehaao ||
हरि जपु रसना दुखु न विआपे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Chant the Name of the Lord with your tongue, and pain will not afflict you. ||1||Pause||
ਤਿਖਾ ਭੂਖ ਬਹੁ ਤਪਤਿ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ॥
Thikhaa Bhookh Bahu Thapath Viaapiaa ||
तिखा भूख बहु तपति विआपिआ ॥
One who is afflicted by the terrible fire of thirst and desire,
ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਜਾਪਿਆ ॥੨॥
Seethal Bheae Har Har Jas Jaapiaa ||2||
सीतल भए हरि हरि जसु जापिआ ॥२॥
Becomes cool, chanting the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||2||
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਤਨ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Kott Jathan Santhokh N Paaeiaa ||
कोटि जतन संतोखु न पाइआ ॥
By millions of efforts, peace is not obtained;
ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
Man Thripathaanaa Har Gun Gaaeiaa ||3||
मनु त्रिपताना हरि गुण गाइआ ॥३॥
The mind is satisfied only by singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||

देहु भगति प्रभ अंतरजामी ॥

मिलि साधू हरि नामु धिआईऐ ॥१॥
Meeting with the Holy Saints, meditate on the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
Paarabreham Prabh Thaeree Saranaa ||
पारब्रहम प्रभ तेरी सरना ॥
O Supreme Lord God, I seek Your Sanctuary.
ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੈ ਭਜੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Kilabikh Kaattai Bhaj Gur Kae Charanaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
किलबिख काटै भजु गुर के चरना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Meditating on the Guru's Feet, sinful mistakes are erased. ||1||Pause||
ਅਵਰਿ ਕਰਮ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਕਾਚਾਰ ॥
Avar Karam Sabh Lokaachaar ||
अवरि करम सभि लोकाचार ॥
All other rituals are just worldly affairs;
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਇ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੨॥
Mil Saadhhoo Sang Hoe Oudhhaar ||2||
मिलि साधू संगि होइ उधार ॥२॥
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, one is saved. ||2||
ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ ਬੇਦ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
Sinmrith Saasath Baedh Beechaarae ||
सिम्रिति सासत बेद बीचारे ॥
One may contemplate the Simritees, Shaastras and Vedas,
ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
Japeeai Naam Jith Paar Outhaarae ||3||
जपीऐ नामु जितु पारि उतारे ॥३॥
But only by chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is one saved and carried across. ||3||
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੀਐ ॥
Jan Naanak Ko Prabh Kirapaa Kareeai ||
जन नानक कउ प्रभ किरपा करीऐ ॥
Have Mercy upon servant Nanak, O God,
ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਿਸਤਰੀਐ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੧॥
Saadhhoo Dhhoor Milai Nisathareeai ||4||6||11||
साधू धूरि मिलै निसतरीऐ ॥४॥६॥११॥
And bless him with the dust of the feet of the Holy, that he may be emancipated. ||4||6||11||

गुर का सबदु रिदे महि चीना ॥
I contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad within my heart;
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸੀਨਾ ॥੧॥
Sagal Manorathh Pooran Aaseenaa ||1||
सगल मनोरथ पूरन आसीना ॥१॥
All my hopes and desires are fulfilled. ||1||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲੁ ਕੀਨਾ ॥
Santh Janaa Kaa Mukh Oojal Keenaa ||
संत जना का मुखु ऊजलु कीना ॥
The faces of the humble Saints are radiant and bright;
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Apunaa Naam Dheenaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
करि किरपा अपुना नामु दीना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Lord has mercifully blessed them with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
Andhh Koop Thae Kar Gehi Leenaa ||
अंध कूप ते करु गहि लीना ॥
Holding them by the hand, He has lifted them up out of the deep, dark pit,
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਜਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੀਨਾ ॥੨॥
Jai Jai Kaar Jagath Pragatteenaa ||2||
जै जै कारु जगति प्रगटीना ॥२॥
And their victory is celebrated throughout the world. ||2||
ਨੀਚਾ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਊਨ ਪੂਰੀਨਾ ॥
Neechaa Thae Ooch Oon Pooreenaa ||
नीचा ते ऊच ऊन पूरीना ॥
He elevates and exalts the lowly, and fills the empty.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥੩॥
Anmrith Naam Mehaa Ras Leenaa ||3||
अम्रित नामु महा रसु लीना ॥३॥
They receive the supreme, sublime essence of the Ambrosial Naam. ||3||
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪਾਪ ਜਲਿ ਖੀਨਾ ॥
Man Than Niramal Paap Jal Kheenaa ||
मन तन निरमल पाप जलि खीना ॥
The mind and body are made immaculate and pure, and sins are burnt to ashes.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਸੀਨਾ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੨॥
