Dhhann S Thhaan Basanth Dhhann Jeh Japeeai Naam ||
धंनु सु थानु बसंत धंनु जह जपीऐ नामु ॥
Blessed is that place, and blessed are those who dwell there, where they chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਤਿ ਘਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥੩॥
Kathhaa Keerathan Har Ath Ghanaa Sukh Sehaj Bisraam ||3||
कथा कीरतनु हरि अति घना सुख सहज बिस्रामु ॥३॥
The Sermon and the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises are sung there very often; there is peace, poise and tranquility. ||3||
ਮਨ ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥
Man Thae Kadhae N Veesarai Anaathh Ko Naathh ||
मन ते कदे न वीसरै अनाथ को नाथ ॥
In my mind, I never forget the Lord; He is the Master of the masterless.

Jin Thoo Bandhh Kar Shhoddiaa Fun Sukh Mehi Paaeiaa ||
जिनि तू बंधि करि छोडिआ फुनि सुख महि पाइआ ॥
The One who bound you in the womb and then released you, placed you in the world of joy.
ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਸੀਤਲ ਹੋਤਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
Sadhaa Simar Charanaarabindh Seethal Hothaaeiaa ||1||
सदा सिमरि चरणारबिंद सीतल होताइआ ॥१॥
Contemplate His Lotus Feet forever, and you shall be cooled and soothed. ||1||
ਜੀਵਤਿਆ ਅਥਵਾ ਮੁਇਆ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
Jeevathiaa Athhavaa Mueiaa Kishh Kaam N Aavai ||
जीवतिआ अथवा मुइआ किछु कामि न आवै ॥
In life and in death, this Maya is of no use.
ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹੁ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ਕੋਊ ਤਿਸ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

रे प्राणी उसन सीत करता करै घाम ते काढै ॥
O mortal, the Creator Lord made summer and winter; He saves you from the heat.
ਕੀਰੀ ਤੇ ਹਸਤੀ ਕਰੈ ਟੂਟਾ ਲੇ ਗਾਢੈ ॥੨॥
Keeree Thae Hasathee Karai Ttoottaa Lae Gaadtai ||2||
कीरी ते हसती करै टूटा ले गाढै ॥२॥
From the ant, He makes an elephant; He reunites those who have been separated. ||2||
ਅੰਡਜ ਜੇਰਜ ਸੇਤਜ ਉਤਭੁਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਕਿਰਤਿ ॥
Anddaj Jaeraj Saethaj Outhabhujaa Prabh Kee Eih Kirath ||
अंडज जेरज सेतज उतभुजा प्रभ की इह किरति ॥
Eggs, wombs, sweat and earth - these are God's workshops of creation.
ਕਿਰਤ ਕਮਾਵਨ ਸਰਬ ਫਲ ਰਵੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਤਿ ॥੩॥
Kirath Kamaavan Sarab Fal Raveeai Har Nirath ||3||
किरत कमावन सरब फल रवीऐ हरि निरति ॥३॥
It is fruitful for all to practice contemplation of the Lord. ||3||
ਹਮ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵਨਾ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਧ ॥
Ham Thae Kashhoo N Hovanaa Saran Prabh Saadhh ||
हम ते कछू न होवना सरणि प्रभ साध ॥
I cannot do anything; O God, I seek the Sanctuary of the Holy.
ਮੋਹ ਮਗਨ ਕੂਪ ਅੰਧ ਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਢ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੬੦॥

मोह मगन कूप अंध ते नानक गुर काढ ॥४॥३०॥६०॥
Guru Nanak pulled me up, out of the deep, dark pit, the intoxication of attachment. ||4||30||60||

Khojath Khojath Mai Firaa Khojo Ban Thhaan ||
खोजत खोजत मै फिरा खोजउ बन थान ॥
Searching, searching, I wander around searching, in the woods and other places.
ਅਛਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਐਸੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੧॥
Ashhal Ashhaedh Abhaedh Prabh Aisae Bhagavaan ||1||
अछल अछेद अभेद प्रभ ऐसे भगवान ॥१॥
He is undeceivable, imperishable, inscrutable; such is my Lord God. ||1||
ਕਬ ਦੇਖਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਆਤਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
Kab Dhaekho Prabh Aapanaa Aatham Kai Rang ||
कब देखउ प्रभु आपना आतम कै रंगि ॥
When shall I behold my God, and delight my soul?
ਜਾਗਨ ਤੇ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਭਲਾ ਬਸੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

जागन ते सुपना भला बसीऐ प्रभ संगि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Even better than being awake, is the dream in which I dwell with God. ||1||Pause||

Listening to the Shaastras teaching about the four social classes and the four stages of life, I grow thirsty for the Blessed Vision of the Lord.
ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰੇਖ ਨ ਪੰਚ ਤਤ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ ॥੨॥

रूपु न रेख न पंच तत ठाकुर अबिनास ॥२॥
He has no form or outline, and He is not made of the five elements; our Lord and Master is imperishable. ||2||
ਓਹੁ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਹਹਿ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਜੋਗੀਸੁਰ ॥
Ouhu Saroop Santhan Kehehi Viralae Jogeesur ||
ओहु सरूपु संतन कहहि विरले जोगीसुर ॥
How rare are those Saints and great Yogis, who describe the beautiful form of the Lord.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੇ ਧਨਿ ਧਨਿ ਤੇ ਈਸੁਰ ॥੩॥
Kar Kirapaa Jaa Ko Milae Dhhan Dhhan Thae Eesur ||3||
करि किरपा जा कउ मिले धनि धनि ते ईसुर ॥३॥
Blessed, blessed are they, whom the Lord meets in His Mercy. ||3||
ਸੋ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਬਾਹਰੇ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਤਹ ਭਰਮਾ ॥
So Anthar So Baaharae Binasae Theh Bharamaa ||
सो अंतरि सो बाहरे बिनसे तह भरमा ॥
They know that He is deep within, and outside as well; their doubts are dispelled.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਮਾ ॥੪॥੩੧॥੬੧॥

नानक तिसु प्रभु भेटिआ जा के पूरन करमा ॥४॥३१॥६१॥
O Nanak, God meets those, whose karma is perfect. ||4||31||61||

All beings and creatures are totally pleased, gazing on God's glorious radiance.
ਕਰਜੁ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਿ ਆਹਰੁ ਆਪ ॥੧॥
Karaj Outhaariaa Sathiguroo Kar Aahar Aap ||1||
करजु उतारिआ सतिगुरू करि आहरु आप ॥१॥
The True Guru has paid off my debt; He Himself did it. ||1||
ਖਾਤ ਖਰਚਤ ਨਿਬਹਤ ਰਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਖੂਟ ॥
Khaath Kharachath Nibehath Rehai Gur Sabadh Akhoott ||
खात खरचत निबहत रहै गुर सबदु अखूट ॥
Eating and expending it, it is always available; the Word of the Guru's Shabad is inexhaustible.
ਪੂਰਨ ਭਈ ਸਮਗਰੀ ਕਬਹੂ ਨਹੀ ਤੂਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Pooran Bhee Samagaree Kabehoo Nehee Thoott ||1|| Rehaao ||
पूरन भई समगरी कबहू नही तूट ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Everything is perfectly arranged; it is never exhausted. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਆਪਾਰ ॥
Saadhhasang Aaraadhhanaa Har Nidhh Aapaar ||
साधसंगि आराधना हरि निधि आपार ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I worship and adore the Lord, the infinite treasure.
ਧਰਮ ਅਰਥ ਅਰੁ ਕਾਮ ਮੋਖ ਦੇਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਬਾਰ ॥੨॥
Dhharam Arathh Ar Kaam Mokh Dhaethae Nehee Baar ||2||
धरम अरथ अरु काम मोख देते नही बार ॥२॥
He does not hesitate to bless me with Dharmic faith, wealth, sexual success and liberation. ||2||
ਭਗਤ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਏਕ ਰੰਗਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥
Bhagath Araadhhehi Eaek Rang Gobindh Gupaal ||
भगत अराधहि एक रंगि गोबिंद गुपाल ॥
The devotees worship and adore the Lord of the Universe with single-minded love.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਿਆ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਹੀ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
Raam Naam Dhhan Sanchiaa Jaa Kaa Nehee Sumaar ||3||
राम नाम धनु संचिआ जा का नही सुमारु ॥३॥
They gather in the wealth of the Lord's Name, which cannot be estimated. ||3||
ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Saran Parae Prabh Thaereeaa Prabh Kee Vaddiaaee ||
सरनि परे प्रभ तेरीआ प्रभ की वडिआई ॥
O God, I seek Your Sanctuary, the glorious greatness of God. Nanak:

Meditate, meditate in remembrance of the Perfect Lord God, and your affairs shall be perfectly resolved.
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਪੁਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਵਸੈ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਲਾਗਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥

बिघनु न कोऊ लागता गुर पहि अरदासि ॥
No obstacles will block your way, when you offer your prayers to the Guru.
ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਰਾਇ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
