मति पति धनु सुख सहज अनंदा ॥
Wisdom, honor, wealth, peace and celestial bliss are attained,
ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਹੁ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥੩॥

इक निमख न विसरहु परमानंदा ॥३॥
If one does not forget the Lord of supreme bliss, even for an instant. ||3||

Har Dharasan Kee Man Piaas Ghanaeree ||
हरि दरसन की मनि पिआस घनेरी ॥
My mind is so very thirsty for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.

मोहि निरगुन सभ गुणह बिहूना ॥
I am worthless, totally lacking all virtues.
ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ॥੧॥
Dhaeiaa Dhhaar Apunaa Kar Leenaa ||1||
दइआ धारि अपुना करि लीना ॥१॥

मेरा मनु तनु हरि गोपालि सुहाइआ ॥
My mind and body are embellished by the Lord, the Lord of the World.

भगति वछल भै काटनहारे ॥
He is the Lover and Protector of His devotees, the Destroyer of fear.

संसार सागर अब उतरे पारे ॥२॥
Now, I have been carried across the world-ocean. ||2||

पतित पावन प्रभ बिरदु बेदि लेखिआ ॥
It is God's Way to purify sinners, say the Vedas.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੋ ਨੈਨਹੁ ਪੇਖਿਆ ॥੩॥

पारब्रहमु सो नैनहु पेखिआ ॥३॥
I have seen the Supreme Lord with my eyes. ||3||

Who can know the value of serving You, God?

प्रभ अविनासी अलख अभेवा ॥१॥
God is imperishable, invisible and incomprehensible. ||1||

गुण बेअंत प्रभ गहिर ग्मभीरे ॥
His Glorious Virtues are infinite; God is profound and unfathomable.

ऊच महल सुआमी प्रभ मेरे ॥
The Mansion of God, my Lord and Master, is lofty and high.

तू अपर्मपर ठाकुर मेरे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
You are unlimited, O my Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
Eaekas Bin Naahee Ko Dhoojaa ||
एकस बिनु नाही को दूजा ॥
There is no other than the One Lord.
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹੀ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਪੂਜਾ ॥੨॥
Thumh Hee Jaanahu Apanee Poojaa ||2||
तुम्ह ही जानहु अपनी पूजा ॥२॥
You alone know Your worship and adoration. ||2||
ਆਪਹੁ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵਤ ਭਾਈ ॥
Aapahu Kashhoo N Hovath Bhaaee ||
आपहु कछू न होवत भाई ॥
No one can do anything by himself, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥
Jis Prabh Dhaevai So Naam Paaee ||3||
जिसु प्रभु देवै सो नामु पाई ॥३॥
He alone obtains the Naam, the Name of the Lord, unto whom God bestows it. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
Kahu Naanak Jo Jan Prabh Bhaaeiaa ||
कहु नानक जो जनु प्रभ भाइआ ॥
Says Nanak, that humble being who pleases God,
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੧੫॥

गुण निधान प्रभु तिन ही पाइआ ॥४॥१०॥१५॥
He alone finds God, the treasure of virtue. ||4||10||15||

मात गरभ महि हाथ दे राखिआ ॥
Extending His Hand, the Lord protected you in your mother's womb.
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ॥੧॥
Har Ras Shhodd Bikhiaa Fal Chaakhiaa ||1||
हरि रसु छोडि बिखिआ फलु चाखिआ ॥१॥
Renouncing the sublime essence of the Lord, you have tasted the fruit of poison. ||1||
ਭਜੁ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਸਭ ਛੋਡਿ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
Bhaj Gobidh Sabh Shhodd Janjaal ||
भजु गोबिद सभ छोडि जंजाल ॥
Meditate, vibrate on the Lord of the Universe, and renounce all entanglements.
ਜਬ ਜਮੁ ਆਇ ਸੰਘਾਰੈ ਮੂੜੇ ਤਬ ਤਨੁ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਬੇਹਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jab Jam Aae Sanghaarai Moorrae Thab Than Binas Jaae Baehaal ||1|| Rehaao ||
जब जमु आइ संघारै मूड़े तब तनु बिनसि जाइ बेहाल ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
When the Messenger of Death comes to murder you, O fool, then your body will be shattered and helplessly crumble. ||1||Pause||
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਪਿਆ ॥
Than Man Dhhan Apanaa Kar Thhaapiaa ||
तनु मनु धनु अपना करि थापिआ ॥
You hold onto your body, mind and wealth as your own,
ਕਰਨਹਾਰੁ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਜਾਪਿਆ ॥੨॥
Karanehaar Eik Nimakh N Jaapiaa ||2||
करनहारु इक निमख न जापिआ ॥२॥
And you do not meditate on the Creator Lord, even for an instant. ||2||
ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਪਰਿਆ ॥
Mehaa Moh Andhh Koop Pariaa ||
महा मोह अंध कूप परिआ ॥
You have fallen into the deep, dark pit of great attachment.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਪਟਲਿ ਬਿਸਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
Paarabreham Maaeiaa Pattal Bisariaa ||3||
पारब्रहमु माइआ पटलि बिसरिआ ॥३॥
Caught in the illusion of Maya, you have forgotten the Supreme Lord. ||3||
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
Vaddai Bhaag Prabh Keerathan Gaaeiaa ||
वडै भागि प्रभ कीरतनु गाइआ ॥
By great good fortune, one sings the Kirtan of God's Praises.
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੧੬॥
Santhasang Naanak Prabh Paaeiaa ||4||11||16||
संतसंगि नानक प्रभु पाइआ ॥४॥११॥१६॥
In the Society of the Saints, Nanak has found God. ||4||11||16||

ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੧॥
Naanak Hoaa Paarabreham Sehaaee ||1||
नानक होआ पारब्रहमु सहाई ॥१॥
- O Nanak, the Supreme Lord is our help and support. ||1||
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਘਣੇ ॥
Sookh Sehaj Aanandh Ghanae ||
सूख सहज आनंद घणे ॥
He blesses us with peace, and abundant celestial bliss.
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਨਿਕ ਗੁਣਾ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਨ ਗਣੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gur Pooraa Pooree Jaa Kee Baanee Anik Gunaa Jaa Kae Jaahi N Ganae ||1|| Rehaao ||
गुरु पूरा पूरी जा की बाणी अनिक गुणा जा के जाहि न गणे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Perfect is the Bani, the Word of the Perfect Guru. His Virtues are so many, they cannot be counted. ||1||Pause||
ਸਗਲ ਸਰੰਜਾਮ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ॥
Sagal Saranjaam Karae Prabh Aapae ||
सगल सरंजाम करे प्रभु आपे ॥
God Himself makes all arrangements.
ਭਏ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਪੇ ॥੨॥
Bheae Manorathh So Prabh Jaapae ||2||
भए मनोरथ सो प्रभु जापे ॥२॥
Meditating on God, desires are fulfilled. ||2||
ਅਰਥ ਧਰਮ ਕਾਮ ਮੋਖ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
Arathh Dhharam Kaam Mokh Kaa Dhaathaa ||
अरथ धरम काम मोख का दाता ॥
He is the Giver of wealth, Dharmic faith, pleasure and liberation.
